The Dead Sea is shrinking due to people taking water from its main source, the Jordan River. 90% of the Jordan's water is now used for drinking and agriculture in Israel and Jordan. Local industry also takes water from the Dead Sea for minerals. If nothing is done, pollution and dwindling water levels will cause the Dead Sea to disappear.
