David Suzuki is a Canadian academic, science broadcaster, and environmental activist born in 1936. He earned a Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Chicago in 1961 and was a professor in the genetics department at the University of British Columbia from 1963 until his retirement in 2001. One of the topics of his foundations is the impacts of climate change, which is already affecting ecosystems, economies, and communities through rising average temperatures, more extreme heat in some regions, flooding, drought, intense summer heat, and increased extreme weather events resulting from the extra energy stored in our warming atmosphere.
