David Fincher is an American film director, producer and music video director known for directing psychological thrillers and mystery films such as Seven (1995), Fight Club (1999), Zodiac (2007), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011), and Gone Girl (2014). Some of his most well known films are The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), for which he received his first Academy Award nomination for Best Director, and The Social Network (2010), for which he won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Awards for Best Director. Fincher is also recognized for his signature directorial styles which include the use of single frame inserts, downbeat endings, and silhouetted characters.
