Through this course I developed a deeper comprehension of ancient literature. I
studied the works of Homer (The Iliad) and Plato (Republic) as well as Greek lyric
poetry (Archilochus and Sappho). My personal takeaways included a more contextual
understanding of how the ancient Greeks conceived of literature, viewing it as a
means of historical preservation as well as a tool to build psychological and

Teach Live Experience
Going into the Teach Live session I was very excited and could not wait to
experience what it would be like to teach a real lesson. At first when hearing about
the assignment I thought to myself this was going to be hard for me to do. This is so
because I am a very shy and closed off person, my voice gets shaky when I have to
speak in front of a group, and I have never done anything such as a Teach Life lesson
before. The day of the Teach Live I was jittery and elated that whole day, I just knew
I was going to kill it. I arrived 15 minutes early and Mr. C made sure I felt very
comfortable and was ready. While sitting there preparing to teach the lesson I had
chosen, fear and nervousness swept over me and I began to worry. A few minutes
before I began the Teach Live session all the fear and negativity left my mindand
body. Then when the session began and I saw the virtual students a smile grew on my
face, sending a cooling, calm sensation through my body.
I found this experience very helpful. It gave me that final confirmation that I need in
deciding if teaching students was how I wanted to spend the rest of my life.
Teaching a lesson, learning, and gaining experience before entering an actual
classroom, I feel is what every education major should experience. I loved the Teach

completed the courses I had a meeting with the department manager and discussed
the need to educate the employees in our department on environmental safety and
pollution prevention. Given the green light to develop a training course, I began
working on one specifically designed for my group, which consisted of office
workers as well as test well engineers and technicians. I teamed up with a gentleman
who worked in software development and we designed an on line course
Environmental Awareness. The topics discussed were disposal of wastes, protection

Analysis Of Katherine Mansfield s Life
Katherine Mansfield was born October 14, 1888 in Wellington New Zealand.
Mansfield was a well known and respected prominent writer in the 20th century. She
attended Queens College in London with her sisters. Mansfield broke barriers for
female writers in the early 20th century and even still today. Her stories commonly
focus on the theme of reality /world versus human nature while also touching the
themes of the darker and more complex sides of life. From Enheduanna to Jane
Austen to Charlotte Bronte to J.K. Rowling. Womanhave proved over and over again
that the role of author and/or writer can suit females just as much as any man.
Mansfield encouraged women to write and used herself as an example with her own
writing to try to attract more femaleauthors. Often, women are pictures as just

women didn t often go to college, it wasn t until the 1980 s that women began to

He asserts that all individuals should take care to avoid culturally appropriating, but
that there are also grey areas in costumechoice where appropriation isn t as clearly
defined. In order to illustrate the nuanced challenge of picking costumes,
Oppenheimer utilizes an anecdote to show how societal values have changed
within his lifetime. He shares, When I was 10, I was in love with a musical
theater; if you d forced me to dress up for Halloween, I might have been chosen a
character from Dreamgirls, a play about African Americans (Oppenheimer 3). It is
evident that he was not aware of what was socially acceptable in society being that
he was merely 10 years old. Considering that much time has passed, by reflecting
back to his past self, he is able to realize that dressing this way could have touched
many sensitive areas of cultural appropriating a race. As there are no specific set of
standards established in society, individuals follow and adhere to what is presented
in front of them. It is utterly challenging for all individuals to identify what is
permitted in society despite the diversity in ethnic groups and age. While the youths
are struggling to find the perfect balance to avoid cultural appropriating a group, it is
also difficult for adults to distinguish the difference. To advise the individuals in
recognizing the difference in regards to the significance of certain Halloween
costumes, Oppenheimer utilizes an appeal to authority with an Yale scholar and
