This document provides an outline and introduction to the second edition of the "Cut Spelling Handbook", which proposes a system of simplified spelling called Cut Spelling (CS). The summary includes: 1) CS aims to simplify English spelling by removing redundant letters from words based on a detailed analysis in Part 1. Over 500,000 words have now been written using CS, providing experience to refine the system. 2) This second edition has been strengthened by new research and perspectives on literacy, language history, foreign language learning, and technology.
