Crowdsourcing is radically changing the geodata landscape
Crowdsourcing, specifically OpenStreetMap, is radically changing geospatial data by allowing the general public to contribute mapping data. OpenStreetMap data is now comparable or better than some commercial data sources in terms of coverage and accuracy. However, it remains unclear whether established commercial mapping companies or new competitors will be better able to capitalize on crowdsourced data going forward.
