Innovate Approaches to Fundraising for parks and greenspace projects - 3 March 2016 - Grassmarket Centre, Edinburgh
New startups primarily rely on self-funding and loans from friends and family for capital. Approximately 30% of investment funds come from angel investors. Successful fundraising channels include introductions through personal connections and accelerators/incubation centers. The three main uses of fundraising are product/service development, expanding marketing to new markets, and increasing hiring. When calculating valuation for negotiation purposes, startups must understand their development stage and maturity, have strong financial reporting systems, ensure financial figures align with operational plans, learn different valuation methods, and determine a reasonable valuation figure based on their goals and stage.

This document summarizes a study on the effect of nutrients on rice plants grown in sodic soils. The study was conducted over two years on a farmer's field in India. Soil tests found the soil to be low in organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, sulfur, zinc and manganese, and medium in potassium. Rice yields and plant nutrient concentrations increased with the addition of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, sulfur, zinc and manganese fertilizers. The highest yield increases came from nitrogen application, followed by phosphorus and potassium. Cumulatively, the added nutrients increased yields by over 80% compared to the control plot with no added nutrients. The soil was found to be deficient in all the nutrients tested. Satisfactory

Background and objectives: Iron is one of the major component
of hemoglobin, is required for transport of oxygen, ferritin is a
protein for storage iron, and transferring is a protein for iron
transport, all these it may be change in breast cancer.
The aim of present study was to measure the serum ferritin, iron,
total iron binding capacity, transferring, and C-reactive protein
concentration in breast tumors.
Material and method: A prospective study was carried out from
April 2013 to August 2014 by clinical biochemistry department in
College of Pharmacy-University of Sulaimani on (45) healthy
female individuals, (group 1) and (50) females with breast tumor
(group 2).
Results: The mean value of serum iron, transferring, total iron
binding capacity were significantly lower in females with breast
tumors (group 2), than that of healthy female individuals, (group
1), while serum ferritin was significantly higher in females with
breast tumors (group2), than that of healthy individuals (group
1).
Conclusion: Based on findings of the present study it can be
concluded that breast tumors can cause deficient of all iron
profile except ferritin will be increase in female breast cancers.
Key words- Serum iron, S.Ferritin, S. Total iron binding, S.

The main aim of energy efficient routing is to
minimize the energy required to transmit or receive packets also
called as active communication energy. Inactive energy is the
energy which not only tries to reduce the energy consumed
when a mobile node stays idle but also listens to the wireless
medium for any possible communication requests from other
nodes. To conserve energy, many energy efficient routing
protocols have been proposed. Networks of small, inexpensive,
disposable, smart sensors are emerging as a new technology with
tremendous potential. Wireless sensor networks can be randomly
deployed inside or close to phenomenon to be monitored. The
advantage of these networks is the fact that they are selfconfiguring,
which means that a sensor network can be deployed
randomly on a battlefield, in a disaster area or in an inaccessible
area without the need for human intervention. The energy
supplies of nodes are not replenished or replaced and therefore
nodes only participate in the network for as long as they have
energy. This fact necessitates energy efficiency in the design of
every aspect of such nodes. Energy consumption in sensor nodes
occurs mainly due to computational processing and, to a greater
extent, communication. The routing protocol employed by these
sensor nodes can minimize the number of transmissions that
nodes make as well as the computational complexity of routing
path selection. It is therefore of critical importance that the
routing protocol be designed with energy efficiency in mind.

Crowdfunding democratizes funding by allowing more projects to be funded from a wider pool of investors. It has grown significantly in Europe in recent years, though growth has been uneven across different countries and models. Success requires strong networking, clear communication of projects and goals, and delivering on promises made during campaigns. Crowdfunding also provides a way to test concepts and gather feedback from supporters.
Increase income from corporate, foundation and governmental donors: a training session from MOVE Congress 2015, opened with a workshop introducing to new fundraising trends and concepts, lead by Marvin Radford, ISCA Head of External Relations and Fundraising.

This document provides an overview of crowdfunding. It discusses different forms of crowdfunding including donation-based, reward-based, equity-based, and debt-based crowdfunding. Examples are given of successful crowdfunding campaigns in Sweden. Global crowdfunding has nearly doubled from 2012 to 2013 and continues to grow significantly each year. While still relatively small compared to traditional forms of financing, crowdfunding is becoming a notable new means to fund projects and startups. The challenges and opportunities of crowdfunding are also examined.

RFP for Reno's Community Assistance CenterThis Is Reno
Property appraisals completed in May for downtown Reno’s Community Assistance and Triage Centers (CAC) reveal that repairing the buildings to bring them back into service would cost an estimated $10.1 million—nearly four times the amount previously reported by city staff.
This report explores the significance of border towns and spaces for strengthening responses to young people on the move. In particular it explores the linkages of young people to local service centres with the aim of further developing service, protection, and support strategies for migrant children in border areas across the region. The report is based on a small-scale fieldwork study in the border towns of Chipata and Katete in Zambia conducted in July 2023. Border towns and spaces provide a rich source of information about issues related to the informal or irregular movement of young people across borders, including smuggling and trafficking. They can help build a picture of the nature and scope of the type of movement young migrants undertake and also the forms of protection available to them. Border towns and spaces also provide a lens through which we can better understand the vulnerabilities of young people on the move and, critically, the strategies they use to navigate challenges and access support.
The findings in this report highlight some of the key factors shaping the experiences and vulnerabilities of young people on the move – particularly their proximity to border spaces and how this affects the risks that they face. The report describes strategies that young people on the move employ to remain below the radar of visibility to state and non-state actors due to fear of arrest, detention, and deportation while also trying to keep themselves safe and access support in border towns. These strategies of (in)visibility provide a way to protect themselves yet at the same time also heighten some of the risks young people face as their vulnerabilities are not always recognised by those who could offer support.
In this report we show that the realities and challenges of life and migration in this region and in Zambia need to be better understood for support to be strengthened and tuned to meet the specific needs of young people on the move. This includes understanding the role of state and non-state stakeholders, the impact of laws and policies and, critically, the experiences of the young people themselves. We provide recommendations for immediate action, recommendations for programming to support young people on the move in the two towns that would reduce risk for young people in this area, and recommendations for longer term policy advocacy.
