Crossmark is a system providing metadata on the publication status of scholarly works, including updates, corrections, and licensing information. Best practices for using Crossmark include creating a policy page, properly depositing metadata, and adding a Crossmark button to content. As of now, there have been 4.5 million Crossmark deposits and 380 publishers participating in the service.
