Cristina has practiced yoga since 2013 when she began as a student in Washington D.C. and has since developed a deep passion for it. Yoga has taught her mental discipline and patience as well as helping her learn how to clear her mind. She has traveled for yoga retreats in Mexico and Costa Rica and hopes to become a certified yoga instructor to share her skills and passion with others.

would like us to know that is not in your
resume or application?
3. Yoga has been a very
important part of my life
since 2013.

I began practicing yoga my first year of college
in Washington D.C.
I struggled at first because I didn’t
know any of the poses but I pushed
through and soon enough, I became
passionate about it.
I was looking for a hobby that would challenge
me and keep me active.
4. This is the yoga studio where I
first began practicing. To this
day it is still one of my favorite
places and I still go whenever
I’m in Washington D.C.
I’ve always felt inclined to
push my physical boundaries
and explore my limits. As a
little girl, I practiced ballet
and gymnastics.
5. Soon after starting my yoga practice, I began to realize
that yoga is not just a physical discipline but a mental
and meditative one as well. Physical
postures
Spirituality, self
awareness and
mindfulness
6. Practicing yoga taught me how to be in
control of my mind and body which is
what has helped me master different
postures.

It has taught me mental
discipline and patience for
myself and others.
It’s also helped me learn how to clear
my mind which helps me tap into my
creativity and sources of inspiration on
or off my yoga mat.
7. Some postures have taken me years of hard work and practice but
the end result is always incredibly rewarding.
I’ve learned that practice always leads to progress and that
consistency is the most important part of any endeavor.

My first trip by myself was for yoga retreat in Mexico. Since then, I’ve been lucky
enough to travel to different countries on other retreats and meet incredible
like-minded friends along the way.
9. I love leading yoga classes for my friends and
coworkers whenever I have the chance.
I am planning to earn
a teaching
certification in the
near future so I can
keep improving my
skills and learn how
teach others in the
best way possible.

self, through the self, to the
self.” - The Bhagavad Gita
