Create & Communicate a
   Compelling Vision
Your 1st Step to Great Leadership

                 Dr. Deborah Frey
CEO/Founder, FreyWorks & Associates Consulting LCC
          Southern Illinois Toastmasters Club
           Vice President of Public Relations
"Would you tell me, please which
way I ought to go from here?" she
asked.

"That depends a good deal on where
you want to get to," was the reply.

"I don't much care where--" she said.

"Then, it doesn't matter
which way you go."
Following the bus, if it’s
going “nowhere in
particular”? Maybe?
Uh-oh! There’s an accident ahead,
so you’re just crawling along.

Looks like some cars take another
route and exit when they can.
Some get hungry, so
they take a break to
find a restaurant!
2 questions that leaders must have
       foremost in their minds:

1. Do I know exactly
   where I am trying to
   go?

2. If so, how do my
   followers know?
“The very essence of leadership is you have to have a
vision. It’s got to be a vision you articulate clearly and
              forcefully on every occasion.

“You can’t blow an uncertain trumpet.”

                            Father Theodore Hesburgh,
Former President of Notre Dame University
Creating an effective vision is no simple task.
A vision should be succinct, clear, and exciting.

We must :

 Create that Vision. (Determine where we are taking the bus.)
 Communicate it effectively . (Everyone wants to get on the same bus to get there.)
So How Will You Communicate Your Vision?
