Poor Educational Achievement and Opportunities for Foster...
The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life (Plato). Plato s
assessment was accurate, because the importance of learning enables individuals to put their potentials
to optimal use. The foster care system can handicap the educational achievement of children. This
handicap can follow those children beyond the scholastic world and into the professional world.
Today, seventy percent of teens that break away from foster care report that they want to attend
college, but less than fifty percent graduate from high school. Fewer than twenty percent of those who
graduate from high school actually enroll in college, and of those less than three percent graduate with
a degree. Post emancipation, fifty percent are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The demand is up yet we are getting cut and so you feel for the student who is trying to get the job
skills to better themselves.
The economic recession is a major contributing factor as to why many students are enrolling back into
colleges and universities. A majority of these students are enrolling at higher rates because the job
market has also become extremely competitive. These students are giving up their time and money to
raise their educational level. Many people have realized that education is a passport to a better future.
Without education, people may end up unemployed resulting in the possibility of destitution. More
and more students are finding it difficult to get into the classes they need to transfer into a university,
obtain an associate s degree or a certificate, due to the overcrowding of classes. Foster youth, who
already face great educational challenges, fall through these holes in the educational system.

Emergency Plan Essay
8. Outline of emergency plans
The UK has two separate plans regarding influenza; the first is their pandemic plan; the second is their
annual influenza plan for seasonal influenza. The focus of each plan is broadly similar, and it is to
mitigate the impact of any influenza outbreak, epidemic or pandemic by: adequate surveillance and
detection of cases; prevention of infection using vaccination; treatment of high risk cases with
antivirals; and non pharmaceutical control of transmission by recommending hand and respiratory
hygiene, self isolation and limited use of face masks for health and social care workers. The
differences in the plans lie mainly with vaccination and the scope of the plans regarding control of
transmission (DOH, 2011; Public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Local health authorities are responsible for delivery of healthcare aspects of the plan, including
vaccination and antiviral treatment, as well as local surveillance (DOH, 2011). However, the impact of
a pandemic will potentially be felt across every sector of society and thus the pandemic plans extend
to recommendations for all business and public sectors, including essential services such as
water/sewage, energy, education, food supplies and transport. They also extend to the media as they
have a role in disseminating information, and to recommendations for Ministry of Defence (MOD)
involvement to provide assistance if civil capabilities are exceeded (DOH, 2011). Part 2 of the Civil
Contingencies Act 2004 allows for emergency powers to be established in extreme situations and The
Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 extends powers to the level of the individual allowing
restrictions to be imposed on an individual provided they are in the best interests of public health

Civil Rights Debate
Two years before the long and hard fought senate debate on the Civil Rights Act of 1964, on the 100th
anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, President John F. Kennedy declared, Abraham Lincoln
emancipated the slaves, but in this century, our Negro citizens have emancipated themselves 1. With
this simple statement President John F. Kennedy addressed one of the oldest and most current issues
of our nation, the blatant line between the Caucasian population and the other minorities that reside in
the United States of America. The racial divide in America has existed long before the beginning of
America s struggle for independence and persists today as demonstrated recent events such as the
building of the wall on the United States/Mexico border. Though it hasn t always provided the
anguished minorities with chains, shackles, and whips there has been a copious amount of major
periods of time in which there was a great division and sense of hostility throughout the nation. One of
the most significant times is the Civil Rights Movement and the Senate Debate on Civil Rights Act of
1964 took place during this time and is the defining topic of this paper.

The Executive Officer, Ron Johnson
INTRODUCTION Former J.C. Penney Chief Executive Officer, Ron Johnson, spent less than 18
months in the company s top job. In 2012, at the time of his departure, Johnson had earned more than
$53.3 million in salary and benefits for his short stint at the company (Smith and Kantz, 2013). In the
same year, Abercrombie Fitch CEO, Michael Jeffries, earned $48.1 million while David Simon, CEO
of the Simon Property Group, banked $137.2 million (Smith and Kantz, 2013). Salaries such as these
have become increasingly common for CEOs of large American companies. On top of these generous
executive salaries, CEOs also receive very lucrative severance packages should they decide to resign
or face lay off. At the same time, the average income for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social and political movements, such as Occupy Wall Street, have served to galvanize the debate over
CEO pay in the United States. While no one would argue that today s executives earn more than ever
before, a question arises over whether or not limits should be placed on the amount of compensation
they should earn. Those who would oppose the motion of placing limits on the amount that executives
should earn argue that CEOs pay is commensurate with their performance and the high risk nature of
their job. Similarly, those in favour of the motion would argue that such high salaries only serve to
encourage CEOs to engage in risky behaviour while imposing significant social and economic costs
on everybody else. This essay will argue that, given the significant economic and social costs of
skyrocketing executive pay, that it is imperative that government place limits on the salaries of CEOS
of publicly traded companies. In doing so, this essay will trace the rise of executive pay in the
American economy, critically examine the issue of whether or not CEOs earn their paycheques and
explore the high social and economic costs imposed on others when the wage between is so high. The
essay will conclude by examining different options available to government in their attempt to rein in
astronomical executive pay. A SHORT HISTORY OF

Advantages Of Oral Chemotherapy
Traditionally, the delivery of most cancer chemotherapies has made use of the intravenous route,
except for a limited number of medications, which were administered orally. However, in recent years,
advances in medical and medicinal biotechnology have produced a surge in the number of targeted
oral chemotherapy medications [1, 2, 3]; these are believed to be safer and less costly. Oral
chemotherapy is also more convenient for patients, families and caregivers because patients can self
administer their medications in the comfort of their own homes with little or no supervision by
relatives or healthcare professionals. Some patients also maintain that self administration gives them a
sense of control over their therapy. [3, 4, 5, 6]
Studies show that patients with metastatic colorectal cancer clearly prefer oral to intravenous therapy
[7, 8], primarily due to convenience, toxicity considerations [7], problems with intravenous lines, and
a better environment for administration. [5] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This confronts clinicians and families alike a new challenge: to ensure patient adherence to medication
instructions. [9, 10] Adherence is defined as the extent to which a person s behaviour taking
medication, following a diet, and/or executing life style changes, corresponds with agreed
recommendations from a health care provider . [11] Patient adherence to the treatment regimen is
paramount for the achievement of the intended therapeutic outcomes. Conversely, non adherence
might increase the potential for medication errors, drug interactions, and additional physician visits; it
may also compromise clinical outcomes. [4, 11, 12, 13, 14] A study by McCowan et al, associates
poor adherence with a shorter time to recurrence and a reduction in quality of life

Essay On Mahabharata
A reimagining of the world famous Hindu epic, the Mahabharata told from the perspective of an
amazing woman, Draupadi was a fearless princess of the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The one with an
unbending will. The Proud and wrathful heroine of the epic, Draupadi was an enigmatic woman of
substance. Draupadi, meaning daughter of Drupad, was known by numerous other names as well. As
the princess of the kingdom of Panchal she was known as Panchaali. She is also called Krishnaa
because she was dark skinned, fiery eyed and had long, black hair. This name was given to her by her
friend Lord Krishna. The Palace of Illusions takes us back to a period that is half history, half myth
and completely magical. Described by Panchaali, the wife of the great Pandava siblings in the
Mahabharata, the novel gives us a new dimension to the ancient epic. The novel traces the life of
princess Panchaali, beginning with her birth in divine fire and following her unusual life as a woman
with five husbands who were cheated out of their father s (Pandu s) kingdom. ... Show more content

He was a friend who listened to every problem of her and suggested the best ways to get out of those
problems and if he could not give a solution he made sure to at least lend her a smile. The beauty of
their relationship was that the separation did not affect their promise towards each other, the promise
of being there for each other. At the same time, their relationship did not distress their commitment to
their own companions. They were still together and yet not together. Their relationship was Pure.
Relationship of Krishna and Draupadi had always been very controversial. Everyone had a different
opinion about their relation, some consider it to be a love relationship and some consider it as just
friendship. Krishna and Krishnaa s friendship is quite unique and modern, to her, Lord Krishna is a
close friend, protector and a guide. They were more than Friends but Less than

Cold War Containment Strategy
During the beginning stages of the Cold War, the United States fought communism on two separate
fronts: Europe and Asia. After Stalin implemented communist governments in Eastern Europe and
banned free elections, the United States decided that it needed to start a strategy of containment. First
introduced by George Kennan in 1946, containment was a policy of preventing the spread of
communism in other parts of the world, including Eastern Europe, China, Vietnam, and Korea.
Though commonly associated with the Truman Doctrine and the Marshall Plan, early Cold War
containment affected more than just the Europeans. Containment took on a completely different role
in Asia, especially in the United State s stance towards China. Containment strategies ... Show more

Since the outbreak of the Second Sino Japanese War in 1937, the Americans had been supporting the
Chinese Nationalist Party, led by Chiang kai Shek. Despite the United States sending almost three
billion in aid, the Nationalists were too corrupt to defeat the Communist Party in the struggle for
power. By 1949, the Nationalists had fled to Taiwan, in in October, the People s Republic of China
was declared, led by communist ruler Mao Zedong. After this, communist China stated that it would
work with the Soviet Union against the imperialist Americans, causing tensions between communist
China and the United States to reach an all time high. In the United States, many were wondering who
lost China, and what could have been done to stop to Communists. The next encounter with
Communist China was during the Korean War. In 1950, the Soviet backed North Koreans invaded the
American backed South Koreans, leading to an outbreak of war between the two groups. The United
States immediately sent military help to the South Koreans, pushing the North Koreans back up, past
the 38th parallel. As the United States, pushed farther north, they advanced closer to the Chinese
border, causing the Chinese to enter the war against the United States. Fighting between the
Americans and the Chinese lasted until 1953, with approximately 55,000 Americans dead. In Asia,

Religious historian Karen Armstrong defines religion as a search for transcendence, going beyond the
self. It s said that the only way to understand Buddhism is to practice it. Through practice, one
perceives its transformative power. A Buddhism that remains in the realm of concepts and ideas is not
Buddhism. The robes, ritual and other trappings of religion are not a corruption of Buddhism, as some
imagine, but expressions of it. In what ways has the religious group you selected contributed to
American culture?
Many Buddhist concepts and terms are present and used in western society: Karma is used frequently
in the sense of fate The wise Buddhist mentor is a frequent character in movies Nirvana is the name of
a band Vegetarians refer to Buddhist reasoning Reincarnation is in the public awareness Koans are
used to describe inscrutable concepts The Dalai Lama is an internationally known figure Smiling
Buddha and similar figures are frequently seen in garden shops Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed
references are equally well understood. American bookstores are filled with volumes on Zen and the
art of this or that; Hollywood makes movies on the Dalai Lama and a Nazi s conversion to Tibetan
Buddhism; and TIME magazine runs cover stories on America s fascination with Buddhism. Buddhist
ideas appear in New Age religions, psychology, medicine, and even sports and business. Buddhist
values are cited in social movements for feminism, peace, ecology, and animal

What Is Elon Musk My Hero
My hero is Elon Musk. Elon Musk owns 3 companies, all simultaneously working towards 3 amazing
goals. His company SpaceX is working toward landing humans on mars, his company Tesla is
working on making cars safer and more environmentally friendly, and his company Solarcity is
working on implementing 100% renewable energy worldwide. He leads a very busy life, and still
dedicates lots of his time to making the world a better place. Because of all of these things Elon Musk
is a hero in every sense of the word.
He owns a company named SpaceX, which is working towards multiple extremely important goals.
His company is primarily working towards landing humans on Mars, and that might not sound like
much, but is much more important when you look into the finer details (spacex.com). Firstly, he is
working to expand our knowledge of the universe, which is great because the more we know about
our universe the more amazing things will be possible in the future, and sooner. Another great benefit
to landing humans on Mars is that it could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

doing something extremely important. Just because it s a business doesn t mean it can not make the
world a better place. So, yes, he is a businessman, but he is also so much more.
Elon Musk seeps heroism. He has dedicated his life to making other s lives better. He has spent his life
trying to land humans on mars, implement renewable energy worldwide, and make cars safer and
better for the environment. He is an amazing man who has dedicated his life to making the Earth a
better place for future generations and the current generation. For all of these reasons he is the most

Public Services And Public Sector
Businesses vary. Schools, shops, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, banks, spas, and universities are all
businesses in the sense that they all have corporate missions or targets to deliver whilst, at the same
time being under constraints and pressures.
These businesses can be divided into 3 categories;
1. Private
2. Public
3. The Voluntary/Third Sector e.g. Charities and Co Operatives.
Public Sector Companies are predominately focused on providing the best service that budget allows
to the communities or taxpayers. For example if the government run bus service in a remote area is not
getting enough customers, the government may still continue this service as its main objective is to
provide and not to maximise profits. On the other hand, if this service was run by a private sectors
business, they may end it if they do not find it profitable, as their main priority is predominately to
increase revenue.
However, in recent years, the government has encouraged Public Sector Companies to focus on
commercial targets, whilst at the same time meeting government targets. This is due to budget cuts
and the reorganisation of government money as Public Companies are funded by the taxpayer, either
directly e.g. council tax; or indirectly e.g. income tax distributed by the Government.
Private sector objectives will often differ from objectives set in the public sector. Private Sector
Companies are normally owned by private individuals or families. However, they can also be owned

level of compensation. The demographic factors surveyed included: age, gender, years of experience,

It is important to note that only 32% of the respondents are female. This ultimately is a large factor to
consider when making specific assumptions using the survey data. Even though certain parts of the
survey data weigh more heavily such as the supply chain category and the general survey population
being roughly 68% male, the data shows specific factors and trends that lead to higher levels of
compensation. Advanced education is one of the strongest factors that results in higher compensation.
The survey responses range in education from a high school level to a PhD. While the majority of the
respondents have at least a bachelor degree, the data shows that having a master s or more results in a
minimum of 12% higher than average compensation at $100k+, with compensation being 51% higher
than average for PhD respondents at $137k (Figure 3). While education plays an important role in
compensation, so do certifications. The survey asked if the respondent had a CPIM, CSCP, or both
certifications. The data shows that the average compensation for an individual with a CPIM
certification is $95K for an individual with a CSCP certification, and $106k for those individuals
holding both certifications. While the average compensation for those individuals without any
certification is $85K. The data shows that having a certification can lead to a greater than average
compensation of at least $10K for having one certification compared to those individuals

for it will guarantee a successful and fully developed commerce.
Many people in todays world think that it is better to start a business in a fully developed country,
rather than a third world country, believing that in a third world country their investments are not safe

There are numerous motivational theories that have been discussed and tested. Different students
unknowingly, or sometimes knowingly, utilize different theories since no two students are alike. Many
teachers acknowledge that different students are motivated by different things, whether it be intrinsic
extrinsic, self efficacy or interest. Not only can gender and age differences affect motivation, but the
student s self efficacy and level of goal setting also affect the student s motivation. As a teacher, it has
been noted that certain students are motivated to do certain tasks while others are not. In order to
learn, students need to be motivated. One of the most difficult challenges of teaching is fighting the
battle of motivating the students, which then leads to supporting them and helping them motivate
themselves.
Textbook Summary
The textbook definition for motivation is the inner state that energizes, directs, and sustains behavior.
(Ormrod, 2015, p. 186) It goes on to state that humans usually tend to work with a purpose.
Motivation not only influences the activities that learners choose, but it also affects the degree to

chronological manner. The story that is make up of five parts without a chronological or, all

Figurative Language In The Poem Juggler By Richard Wilbur
The poem Juggler by Richard Wilbur uses poetic devices such as alliteration, imagery, descriptive
language, and figurative language. Through these devices, the speaker s great respect and admiration
for the juggler described is revealed. The first stanza contains examples of figurative language and
imagery which reveal the speaker s respect for the juggler. Wilbur uses figurative language and
compares a ball to the earth, saying Falling is what it loves, and the earth falls/ so in our hearts from
brilliance,/ Settles and is forgot. (Line 3 5). The author also uses colorful, bright imagery to describe
the juggler, saying It takes a sky blue juggler with five red balls/ To shake our gravity up. (Lines 6 7).
The combination of this figurative language, along with the colorful, bright, and positive imagery used
to describe the juggler, reveal the speaker s admiration of the juggler. According to the speaker, the
earth becomes forgotten and falls, like a ball, from our hearts and attention. The juggler is able to
shake our gravity up and reinvoke excitement in wonder in the audience s hearts and minds through
juggling. The bright, colorful imagery paints the juggler in a positive light, revealing the speaker s
respect and admiration for them. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wilbur describes the juggler in action: Whee, in the air/ The balls roll round, wheel on his wheeling
hands, (Lines 7 8). Alliteration is used in this line to depict the quick, deft movements of the juggler s
hands. This use of alliteration reveals that the speaker admires the juggler s skill. To the speaker, the
juggler s juggling appears as a small heaven about his ears (Line 12). Describing the juggling as a
small heaven depicts the action as beautiful and pure, traits which usually deem something worthy of

Swot Approaches Of Strategic Human Resource Management Essay
Essay: SHRM Approaches Analyzing Case Study
Introduction
Strategic human resource management (SHRM) is a design and an approach for managing the
companies human resources and the needs of their employees along with goals of the company, it
requires thinking ahead and making the new ways for the organization to meet requirements of their
employees and the employees should fulfil the requirements of the organization as well as achieving
the sustainable competitive advantages(Bratton Gold,2012).The SHRM has three approaches universal
approach, contingency approach configurationally approach, but in this essay there is a review of only
two major approaches i.e. universal and contingency along with their strengths and limitation as well
as how these approaches are applicable in different contexts. Next we will analyze the SHRM
approaches used by Google and what were it fails and how it is supporting SHRM.
Major SHRM Approaches
Universal Approach
The universal approach, also commonly referred to as the best practice approach, to SHRM posits that
some human resources practices are always better than others, and that all organizations should adopt
these best practices (Jamali and Afiouni, 2012).The main logic is that the entire organisation can see
improvements in work performance but only after identifying the best practice and implementing it.
The most eminent model in universal approach is by Pfeffer (1994), who contended that practices such

Idaho Is Truly Like An Easter Egg Hunt
Idaho is a place for many hidden gems. Anyone who lives here will agree that exploring Idaho is truly
like an Easter egg hunt. A person can wake up in the morning, look out the window, and they have
already found the most beautiful egg possible: the sunrise. Only a few hours into the day and countless
eggs can be found. These Easter eggs can range from being a special road, a beautiful mountain, a
perfect hiking trail, or even a unique town. One of the most unrecognized Easter eggs is Wallace,
Idaho. Once you find this hidden gem you will have a new appreciation for Idaho and the fascinating
history of Wallace. Wallace, the center of the universe, is where rich history and breathtaking beauty

The discovery of the Poorman and Tiger silver lodes in 1884 created a boom in population and wealth.
By the 1890s, Wallace was a prosperous town filled with immigrant miners from all over the world (
History of Wallace ). The early mining in Wallace helped build fortunes for mine owners and miners.
In addition to mines, railroads played a large role in the development of Wallace, Idaho. When the
Northern Pacific railway was brought to northern Idaho in 1883, the region was transformed from a
dense forest to a populated developing region. The town of Wallace grew with the building of the
railroad through the Silver Valley. The article The Northern Pacific Depot the Compromise of Wallace
written by Nick Shelford states that The Northern Pacific Railroad was the first railway to enter
through the Silver Valley, and connected the Silver Valley with coastal seaports. This depot was
responsible for transporting passengers during the silver boom. In addition, the depot also transported
freight, boosting Idaho s economy.
The development on I 90 highway in 1970 sent the residents Wallace into a panic. The Federal
Highway Administration planned for Interstate 90 to run right through the middle of downtown
Wallace. All of the downtown buildings were at risk of impending destruction. Residents worked
effortlessly to find a way to save their home.

The Ninety Five Theses Summary
What are the ninety five theses? The ninety five theses was created by Martin Luther. The ninety five
theses was written about the things Martin Luther didn t like about the church. He wrote it in 1515.
Three things he did not like about the church was power of the pope, purgatory, and indulgence.
He did not like the power of pope because he could make anyone do anything he wanted for him. If
you made him mad he could say pay a 100 dollars or you ain t going to heaven. Another thing he didn
t like was purgatory. Purgatory is the place between heaven and hell. Indulgence was abused during
the middle ages. Indulgence is like a punishment the pope gave you.

Before he was a monk he wanted to become a lawyer. In his later years he studied in theology at
Wittenberg. The ninety five thesis was important because without it the townspeople would have
never never realized that the church was curropted, and would still be paying the pope unnecessarily.
The first two these stated that faith and repentance is the way to get salvation not good deeds and
money. The other ninety three supported the first two theses. These ninety five these were quickly
spread through Europe and ended up in in rome. The ninety five theses was later known as the
foundation of the protestant reformation.
Martin Luther is one of the most important author/monk in history. He taught that the bible was the
source of central teachings. He taught that salvation is achieved by faith and not good deeds. The pope
said that if you don t do good deeds and disobey the church or the pope him self you will end up in
hell. The church was corrupted before the ninety five theses came to germany. After pope Leo ordered
Martin Luther to give up his believes Martin burned the order. Because of his actions the pope kicked
him out the church, but even after that Martin Luther still had many followers. He changed the way of

American Progression
Since the beginning of time people have been on an endless journey for Progress . But what does
progress really mean? When I hear the word progress, I think of an improvement of a specific
condition. Progress is advancing over a period of time and can have positive or negative effects of
some sort. One significant event that led to great progress in human history was the discovery of
America. The founding of America led to progress through the introduction of New World plants to
the Old World, transmission of various diseases and colonization. The Columbian Exchange of crops
between the Old World and the New World is significant in the progression of human history. This
event is important because the introduction of the native New World plants eventually changed the
economy of the entire world. Native New World plants such as tobacco, maize, beans, tomatoes, and
especially the lowly potato eventually revolutionized the international economy as well as the
European diet, feeding the rapid population growth of the Old World (Kennedy and Cohen 14; Ch. 1).
Many of the crops grown around the world today originated in the Americas. New World foodstuff
also helped Africa overcome chronic food ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The transmission of these diseases resulted in progression of human history because it increased
awareness, knowledge and eventually cures for some. However, this progression did not come without
some downfalls. The disease introduced to the New World caused the Indians to die in droves but it
also allowed new cultures to be formed. Disease took more than human life; it extinguished entire
cultures and occasionally helped shape new ones (Kennedy and Cohen 30; Ch.2). The introduction of
Syphilis to the Old World also aided in progression because now we have knowledge about the disease
and today syphilis is nonfatal and can be treated with

Literary Analysis Of Desiree s Baby
Single Element Desiree s Baby Kate Chopin s Desiree s Baby is the story of an abandoned child by
the name of Desiree; adopted and brought up by Madame Valmont in the countryside of Louisiana.
She later grows up, conceives a child, and marries her childhood sweetheart Armand, with the
intention of giving her the perfect family she failed to receive. The two are profoundly in love, and
continue to flourish in happiness until one day something changes. With suspicion and curiosity
towards the race of the baby and Desiree, Armand suddenly becomes distant from the two; portraying
an unpleasant attitude towards her and his slaves. Unwanted, Desiree disappears with the child, and is
never seen again. One day while burning old memories of his former spouse, Armand will be
conflicted with a shocking discovery that leaves the reader in awe. This amazing story reveals how the
power of judgement, and uncertainty can ironically come back to haunt you in the end. There are
many examples of language given from the author that helps the reader achieve a certain
understanding on the specific parts in the story. The narrator reads from the third person omniscient
point of view, and greatly describes the events leading up to the tragedy of what once was filled with
pure joy. With the ability to unfold the thoughts of the omniscient view, the reader is able to analyze
true emotions from the central and supporting characters that later can be identified as a specific type
of language. For

Power Control In Macbeth
How far would you go to ensure you were the ruler of a kingdom and the most powerful person of
royalty? Many people would do just about anything, up to including murder. The Witches in the story
told Macbeth of their prophecy and this added temptation and influence over Macbeth, but they
couldn t control his destiny. Macbeth exhibits the most control in comparison to the witches, and Lady
Macbeth. While the witches tell Macbeth about their prophecy, Lady Macbeth plants the seed to
murder the king, it is Macbeth who commits the murder. Although, in Macbeth, the three sisters and
Lady Macbeth exhibit some control on some events, Macbeth has the most responsibility over the
murders. Macbeth was responsible for his own actions which led him to be insecure and he continues
to commit murders as a result. The witches introduced the ideas and put thoughts in Macbeth s head,
but they were not responsible for macbeth s actions.
The witches tell Macbeth and Banquo of their premonition of Macbeth becoming King and Banquo s
sons being future Kings of Scotland. While Macbeth and Banquo pretend to not believe what the
witches have told them, Macbeth becomes obsessed with wanting to know more information about
him becoming King. The witches are responsible for delivering the prophecies that led to the master
plan to murder King Duncan. These Weird Sisters had, in sooth, no control over macbeth; their
prophecies no more annihilated his free will than the oracles of the Delphic

Physics Of A Simple Wave Simulator
Physics in the Classroom The activity that I chose, Simple Wave Simulator, covers the ideas of what
the properties of a simple wave are. This simulator enables the student to choose whether they want to
make a rope wave, simulating a transverse wave, or a longitudinal wave, which simulates a sound
wave. The student is also able to change certain properties of the wave, such as frequency, amplitude,
and the speed at which the wave is traveling. While using the simulator, students are able to track data
such as values of wave speed, frequency, amplitude, wavelength, and period. The interactive activity
found on the link, pictured below, is something that I found to be very useful. It gives you the
opportunity to visually see the differences within the waves when you change the different aspects of
them. You can change one component at a time, or all at once and have the ability to compare and
contrast what each of them visually look like.
The core ideas for this activity is to, one, show that the wavelength and frequency are related by how
fast the wave travels. This will depend on what type of wave we are looking at, and through what type
of circumstances (medium), it is traveling. As stated before, the simulator shows the change in
structure of each of the waves created as its frequency or amplitude is changed. It also, as stated
before, shows how the wavelength and wave speed are related to each other.
One of the main cross cutting concepts is patterns. Patterns

Poverty Is A Serious World Problem Essay
If you were asked to donate some of your own items or money to help fight poverty, would you do it?
A substantial amount of the world s population suffers from some sort of poverty, whether it be
monetary poverty, or food poverty. Poverty has become such a prevalent issue throughout history, that
it isn t put into consideration as much as it should be. Poverty is a serious world problem, and truly
needs to be stopped. With the help of citizens of the world, and different groups, and charities, the
percentage of poverty stricken people around the world could be greatly shrunk.
Above all, poverty has countless effects on people, society, governments, etc. One of the multitude of
effects, mainly caused by food poverty, is malnutrition. Some families who suffer from poverty can t
afford to buy food, or buy healthy foods. The figures on food poverty are closer to reality than the
monetary poverty statistics, says Ivan Hidalgo. Hidalgo stated that the food poverty statistics are more
at large than the monetary poverty. Malnutrition can also lead to health issues such as diseases, while
most families cannot afford hospital care. Poverty also causes problem in education and societies. A
manifold of people struggling with poverty are not able to attend school, which will affect them for
the rest of their lives. The lack of education also greatly harms the economy of several countries.
Those who do not have any schooling often are not able to be employed anywhere, so they

Family Descriptive Essay
My family is spontaneous, we have flown across country just because the tickets were cheap and sped
up a mountain to see the stars, just because my sister was learning about the constellations. The most
spontaneous thing my family has done was driving to Guatemala. I remember coming home one day
from 5th grade, and my mom packing up the car. I was told that my bags were already packed but I
should look around the house to see if there was anything I needed. I looked around, grabbed my sister
s blanket, and we were off. For 12 days were stopped and sightseeing everywhere we could. My sister
wanted to stop by and see the Grand Canyon, I wanted to see Mexico. My mom would pick flowers
everywhere we stopped and hang them on the mirror. I remember after about the 7th day in we had
arrived to Guatemala, we got stopped by the police to search our car. My sister s teddy bear was in the
trunk and it popped out when the man with the biggest gun opened it. We all laughed and they decided
that a bunch of americans did not have anything dangerous in their car. We arrived in a city called
Chimaltenango and came to our new home and neighborhood. I remember the dogs and the ladies
with fresh peaches balancing on their heads. I remember watching children flipping tortillas on a
stepstool at their stand to get some extra money. When we came to the new house, my sister said that
the roofs were so flat, the houses so close together that we could jump from them. The house had two
rooms, one bathroom and a kitchen. Even though it was a 380 square foot home, it was one of the best
homes I ve ever had. I didn t even know that Guatemala was a county or how different a developing
country was. Me and my family have experienced the wonders and differences between cultures and
1st world to 3rd world countries. While most people have clean water and vegetables. I remember my
dad carrying the 10 gallons of water and my mom washing the vegetables in bleach. Me and my sister
would go outside and wash dishes in the pila. A concrete tank where we would wash both our dishes
and clothes. Me and my sister went to Meso Americano while my parents taught english. I loved my

The Basic Characteristics Of Humanism During The Renaissance
Some of the basic characteristics of Humanism especially during the beginning were that it mostly
consisted and was centralized around Italy. The reading mentions that something that made Italy
different from Europe was that their members were part of the clergy. Being part of the clergy
defiantly have them an advantage in which they had some governmental and educational experience.
Something else that the reading mentions is that humanism meant rhetoric and literature bases. In my
opinion, this was really important because it focuses more attention on the importance of education,
history, and literature. This was just a starting point of what education and the importance of it would
eventually become. The beginning of humanism also bega the practicing of history, one in which
people actually wrote in means of history actually writing for it. Humanitism increased in popularity
and therefore inspired others to learn and do the same. Italians viewed this situation as a preparation
for the public life. With this, not only people benefit but the whole society as a whole were benefited.
The classical value overall during the Renaissance was very impacting. I believe this because not only
did the Humanism thinking and Humanists help somehow develop better ways of thinking. This not
only opened new ways, but also better ways to think, act, and even create. The development of
Humanism helped create interest in new and even some controversial ideas. Rhe reading mentions that

  • 2. Poor Educational Achievement and Opportunities for Foster... The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life (Plato). Plato s assessment was accurate, because the importance of learning enables individuals to put their potentials to optimal use. The foster care system can handicap the educational achievement of children. This handicap can follow those children beyond the scholastic world and into the professional world. Today, seventy percent of teens that break away from foster care report that they want to attend college, but less than fifty percent graduate from high school. Fewer than twenty percent of those who graduate from high school actually enroll in college, and of those less than three percent graduate with a degree. Post emancipation, fifty percent are ... • 3. Emergency Plan Essay 8. Outline of emergency plans The UK has two separate plans regarding influenza; the first is their pandemic plan; the second is their annual influenza plan for seasonal influenza. The focus of each plan is broadly similar, and it is to mitigate the impact of any influenza outbreak, epidemic or pandemic by: adequate surveillance and detection of cases; prevention of infection using vaccination; treatment of high risk cases with antivirals; and non pharmaceutical control of transmission by recommending hand and respiratory hygiene, self isolation and limited use of face masks for health and social care workers. The differences in the plans lie mainly with vaccination and the scope of the plans regarding control of transmission (DOH, 2011; Public ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Local health authorities are responsible for delivery of healthcare aspects of the plan, including vaccination and antiviral treatment, as well as local surveillance (DOH, 2011). However, the impact of a pandemic will potentially be felt across every sector of society and thus the pandemic plans extend to recommendations for all business and public sectors, including essential services such as water/sewage, energy, education, food supplies and transport. They also extend to the media as they have a role in disseminating information, and to recommendations for Ministry of Defence (MOD) involvement to provide assistance if civil capabilities are exceeded (DOH, 2011). Part 2 of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 allows for emergency powers to be established in extreme situations and The Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 extends powers to the level of the individual allowing restrictions to be imposed on an individual provided they are in the best interests of public health (DOH, ... Kennedy declared, Abraham Lincoln emancipated the slaves, but in this century, our Negro citizens have emancipated themselves 1. With this simple statement President John F. Kennedy addressed one of the oldest and most current issues of our nation, the blatant line between the Caucasian population and the other minorities that reside in the United States of America. The racial divide in America has existed long before the beginning of America s struggle for independence and persists today as demonstrated recent events such as the building of the wall on the United States/Mexico border. Though it hasn t always provided the anguished minorities with chains, shackles, and whips there has been a copious amount of major periods of time in which there was a great division and sense of hostility throughout the nation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Social and political movements, such as Occupy Wall Street, have served to galvanize the debate over CEO pay in the United States. While no one would argue that today s executives earn more than ever before, a question arises over whether or not limits should be placed on the amount of compensation they should earn. Those who would oppose the motion of placing limits on the amount that executives should earn argue that CEOs pay is commensurate with their performance and the high risk nature of their job. Similarly, those in favour of the motion would argue that such high salaries only serve to encourage CEOs to engage in risky behaviour while imposing significant social and economic costs on everybody else. This essay will argue that, given the significant economic and social costs of skyrocketing executive pay, that it is imperative that government place limits on the salaries of CEOS of publicly traded companies. In doing so, this essay will trace the rise of executive pay in the American economy, critically examine the issue of whether or not CEOs earn their paycheques and explore the high social and economic costs imposed on others when the wage between is so high. The essay will conclude by examining different options available to government in their attempt to rein in astronomical executive pay. A SHORT HISTORY OF ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Advantages Of Oral Chemotherapy Traditionally, the delivery of most cancer chemotherapies has made use of the intravenous route, except for a limited number of medications, which were administered orally. However, in recent years, advances in medical and medicinal biotechnology have produced a surge in the number of targeted oral chemotherapy medications [1, 2, 3]; these are believed to be safer and less costly. Oral chemotherapy is also more convenient for patients, families and caregivers because patients can self administer their medications in the comfort of their own homes with little or no supervision by relatives or healthcare professionals. Some patients also maintain that self administration gives them a sense of control over their therapy. [3, 4, 5, 6] Studies show that patients with metastatic colorectal cancer clearly prefer oral to intravenous therapy [7, 8], primarily due to convenience, toxicity considerations [7], problems with intravenous lines, and a better environment for administration. Schools, shops, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, banks, spas, and universities are all businesses in the sense that they all have corporate missions or targets to deliver whilst, at the same time being under constraints and pressures. These businesses can be divided into 3 categories; 1. Private 2. Public 3. The Voluntary/Third Sector e.g. Charities and Co Operatives. Public Sector Companies are predominately focused on providing the best service that budget allows to the communities or taxpayers. For example if the government run bus service in a remote area is not getting enough customers, the government may still continue this service as its main objective is to provide and not to maximise profits. On the other hand, if this service was run by a private sectors business, they may end it if they do not find it profitable, as their main priority is predominately to increase revenue. However, in recent years, the government has encouraged Public Sector Companies to focus on commercial targets, whilst at the same time meeting government targets. This is due to budget cuts and the reorganisation of government money as Public Companies are funded by the taxpayer, either directly e.g. council tax; or indirectly e.g. income tax distributed by the Government. Research On Educational Psychology Assignment Barbara Jones EDU 614 Dr. C 2 February 2015 Research in Educational Psychology Assignment Topic There are numerous motivational theories that have been discussed and tested. Different students unknowingly, or sometimes knowingly, utilize different theories since no two students are alike. Many teachers acknowledge that different students are motivated by different things, whether it be intrinsic extrinsic, self efficacy or interest. Not only can gender and age differences affect motivation, but the student s self efficacy and level of goal setting also affect the student s motivation. As a teacher, it has been noted that certain students are motivated to do certain tasks while others are not. In order to learn, students need to be motivated. One of the most difficult challenges of teaching is fighting the battle of motivating the students, which then leads to supporting them and helping them motivate themselves. Textbook Summary The textbook definition for motivation is the inner state that energizes, directs, and sustains behavior. (Ormrod, 2015, p. 186) It goes on to state that humans usually tend to work with a purpose. Motivation not only influences the activities that learners choose, but it also affects the degree to which they engage in those activities (Ormrod, 2015, p. 186). While teachers do play a big part in motivating students, motivation also has to come from within the students. In order for students to feel motivated, they must have certain primary ... By the 1890s, Wallace was a prosperous town filled with immigrant miners from all over the world ( History of Wallace ). The early mining in Wallace helped build fortunes for mine owners and miners. In addition to mines, railroads played a large role in the development of Wallace, Idaho. When the Northern Pacific railway was brought to northern Idaho in 1883, the region was transformed from a dense forest to a populated developing region. The town of Wallace grew with the building of the railroad through the Silver Valley. The article The Northern Pacific Depot the Compromise of Wallace written by Nick Shelford states that The Northern Pacific Railroad was the first railway to enter through the Silver Valley, and connected the Silver Valley with coastal seaports. This depot was responsible for transporting passengers during the silver boom. In addition, the depot also transported freight, boosting Idaho s economy. • 27. American Progression Since the beginning of time people have been on an endless journey for Progress . But what does progress really mean? When I hear the word progress, I think of an improvement of a specific condition. Progress is advancing over a period of time and can have positive or negative effects of some sort. One significant event that led to great progress in human history was the discovery of America. The founding of America led to progress through the introduction of New World plants to the Old World, transmission of various diseases and colonization. The Columbian Exchange of crops between the Old World and the New World is significant in the progression of human history. This event is important because the introduction of the native New World plants eventually changed the economy of the entire world. Native New World plants such as tobacco, maize, beans, tomatoes, and especially the lowly potato eventually revolutionized the international economy as well as the European diet, feeding the rapid population growth of the Old World (Kennedy and Cohen 14; Ch. 1). Disease took more than human life; it extinguished entire cultures and occasionally helped shape new ones (Kennedy and Cohen 30; Ch.2). Many people would do just about anything, up to including murder. The Witches in the story told Macbeth of their prophecy and this added temptation and influence over Macbeth, but they couldn t control his destiny. Macbeth exhibits the most control in comparison to the witches, and Lady Macbeth. While the witches tell Macbeth about their prophecy, Lady Macbeth plants the seed to murder the king, it is Macbeth who commits the murder. Although, in Macbeth, the three sisters and Lady Macbeth exhibit some control on some events, Macbeth has the most responsibility over the murders. Macbeth was responsible for his own actions which led him to be insecure and he continues to commit murders as a result. The witches introduced the ideas and put thoughts in Macbeth s head, but they were not responsible for macbeth s actions. The witches tell Macbeth and Banquo of their premonition of Macbeth becoming King and Banquo s sons being future Kings of Scotland. While Macbeth and Banquo pretend to not believe what the witches have told them, Macbeth becomes obsessed with wanting to know more information about him becoming King. • 31. Physics Of A Simple Wave Simulator Physics in the Classroom The activity that I chose, Simple Wave Simulator, covers the ideas of what the properties of a simple wave are. This simulator enables the student to choose whether they want to make a rope wave, simulating a transverse wave, or a longitudinal wave, which simulates a sound wave. The student is also able to change certain properties of the wave, such as frequency, amplitude, and the speed at which the wave is traveling. While using the simulator, students are able to track data such as values of wave speed, frequency, amplitude, wavelength, and period. The interactive activity found on the link, pictured below, is something that I found to be very useful. It gives you the opportunity to visually see the differences within the waves when you change the different aspects of them. You can change one component at a time, or all at once and have the ability to compare and contrast what each of them visually look like. The core ideas for this activity is to, one, show that the wavelength and frequency are related by how fast the wave travels. This will depend on what type of wave we are looking at, and through what type of circumstances (medium), it is traveling. As stated before, the simulator shows the change in structure of each of the waves created as its frequency or amplitude is changed. It also, as stated before, shows how the wavelength and wave speed are related to each other. One of the main cross cutting concepts is patterns. Patterns ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Family Descriptive Essay My family is spontaneous, we have flown across country just because the tickets were cheap and sped up a mountain to see the stars, just because my sister was learning about the constellations. The most spontaneous thing my family has done was driving to Guatemala. I remember coming home one day from 5th grade, and my mom packing up the car. I was told that my bags were already packed but I should look around the house to see if there was anything I needed. I looked around, grabbed my sister s blanket, and we were off. For 12 days were stopped and sightseeing everywhere we could. My sister wanted to stop by and see the Grand Canyon, I wanted to see Mexico. My mom would pick flowers everywhere we stopped and hang them on the mirror. I remember after about the 7th day in we had arrived to Guatemala, we got stopped by the police to search our car. My sister s teddy bear was in the trunk and it popped out when the man with the biggest gun opened it. We all laughed and they decided that a bunch of americans did not have anything dangerous in their car. We arrived in a city called Chimaltenango and came to our new home and neighborhood. I remember the dogs and the ladies with fresh peaches balancing on their heads. I remember watching children flipping tortillas on a stepstool at their stand to get some extra money. When we came to the new house, my sister said that the roofs were so flat, the houses so close together that we could jump from them. The house had two rooms, one bathroom and a kitchen. The Basic Characteristics Of Humanism During The Renaissance Some of the basic characteristics of Humanism especially during the beginning were that it mostly consisted and was centralized around Italy. The reading mentions that something that made Italy different from Europe was that their members were part of the clergy. Being part of the clergy defiantly have them an advantage in which they had some governmental and educational experience. Something else that the reading mentions is that humanism meant rhetoric and literature bases. In my opinion, this was really important because it focuses more attention on the importance of education, history, and literature. This was just a starting point of what education and the importance of it would eventually become. The beginning of humanism also bega the practicing of history, one in which people actually wrote in means of history actually writing for it. Humanitism increased in popularity and therefore inspired others to learn and do the same. Italians viewed this situation as a preparation for the public life. With this, not only people benefit but the whole society as a whole were benefited. The classical value overall during the Renaissance was very impacting. I believe this because not only did the Humanism thinking and Humanists help somehow develop better ways of thinking.
