China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a framework of regional connectivity.
CPEC will not only benefit China and Pakistan but will have positive impact
on Iran, Afghanistan, India, Central Asian Republic, and the region.
The enhancement of geographical linkages having improved road, rail and
air transportation system with frequent and free exchanges of growth and
people to people contact, enhancing understanding through academic,
cultural and regional knowledge and culture, activity of higher volume of
flow of trade and businesses, producing and moving energy to have more
optimal businesses and enhancement of co-operation by win-win model will
result in well connected, integrated region of shared destiny, harmony and
development.
Introduction
Pakistan–China relations began in 1950
Chinese interest in Pakistan's deep-water harbour at Gwadar had been
rekindled by 1998 and in 2002
China began construction at Gwadar port which was completed in 2006.
In 2013, the then Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Chinese Premier Li
Keqiang decided to further enhance mutual connectivity.
A memorandum of understanding on cooperation for long-term plan on
China–Pakistan Economic Corridor between the two governments was inked
by Xu Shao Shi and Shahid Amjad Chaudhry
In November 2014, Chinese government announced its intention to finance
Chinese companies as part of its $45.6 billion energy and infrastructure
projects in Pakistan as part of CPEC.
Background of cpec
Originally valued at $46 billion, the value of CPEC projects is now worth $62
billion.
Dr. Shahid Rashid Executive Director, CPEC Centre of Excellence at
Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) said that
investment in CPEC project will go up to $ 100 billion by 2030.

2.Construction of East-Bay
Expressway, Gwadar Port
Project Title: Construction of East-Bay Expressway, Gwadar Port
Currently, Gwadar Deep-Sea Port is connected through a narrow 16 feet wide
thoroughfare of Gwadar town at the West-Bay. All the trawlers/trucks loaded
with imported shipments pass through this strip causing disruption of normal
traffic. The port has not a dedicated wide highway to cater the transporting
requirements of the post. The port operationalization, even with the available 3
multi-purpose berths, necessitates construction of the planned East-Bay
expressway. This 6-lane expressway along with a provision of 30 meters wide
railway corridor shall connect the port with the Mekran Coastal Highway (N-20)
through the 2300 acres Free Trade Zone of Gwadar Port.
Objective of the Project: Linking Gwadar Port with the main artery of national
highway network and smooth logistic transportation of import, export and
transit goods.
Proposing Agency: Gwadar Port Authority and Ministry of Maritime Affair
cost estimated 140.60

• World Economic Forum Report placed Pakistan at the 115th position this year from
the 122nd position last year. In comparison to neighboring countries, Pakistan
ranking is still low, despite that Pakistan ranking is much better this year.

to Gulf.
• Independent path from India and USA’s interference.
gwadar was under ownership of Kingdom of Oman, and later it was sold to
Pakistan for just $3 Million. Now Gwadar is a future of Pakistan and a
backbone of CPEC Route Map.
Concerns of Western and Eastern Countries:The China–Pakistan Economic
Corridor is also an alarming investment and development for other Middle
