Qualities of a contributor
personality
Contributor Identity “who am I?”
 Non-contributors and Contributors define
themselves differently.
 Contributors choose
‘Dynamic Identity’.
 Non- Contributors have
‘Static Identity’.
Static Identity
 Non-contributors usually define themselves in terms
of what they have acquired in life (e.g. qualifications,
position, years of experience, etc.). This is a static
identity, based on your past glories or past failures.
This static identity leaves you trapped in history
Dynamic Person
 Contributors define themselves in terms of
what THEY will become or accomplish (e.g.
capacity to deliver, commitment and
ownership of the organization’s purpose,
etc.). This is a dynamic identity based on
your “being” and “becoming”. Such an
identity lets you choose to live a better
future.
Personality
Dynamic
Identity
Static
Identity
Broad Minded
Aim oriented
Unlimited Goals
Interest in the other affairs other then
their goals
Always ready to help ,serve as share their
knowledge and whatever power they
possessed.
Conservative
Self Center
Limited to Goals
Self Oriented
No interest in the other affairs other
then their goals
Not helpful to others
Now lets see the difference between static identity and dynamic
identity
WHAT IS VISION?
 A vision is an idea of the future; it is an image, a strongly
felt wish.
 When we say that a leader has vision, we refer to the
ability to see the present as it is and formulate a future
that grows out of and improves upon the present.
 For leaders, a vision is not a dream; it is a reality that has
yet to come into existence.
WHAT IS SUCCESS?
 Success has different meanings for each of us. For one
person it could be a a general sense of happiness.
 Another might think of success as meaning making a lot
of money and accumulating wealth.
 But actually success means
“ACCOMPLISHMENT OF DESIRED WISH"
The Contributor’s Vision of Success
 Contributors have a deeper and wider definition
of success than Non-contributors.
 While Non-contributors define success in terms of
material success, achievement, external impact,
etc.
 But for contributor success means not only
external rewards but also deep inner fulfilment

There is Four building blocks for embark on the
journey to Contributorship.
 First step : From “victim” to being a “ creator of one’s
destiny”.
 Second step : Being acceptance of the ideal of
contributorship.
 Third step : Being the willingness to take full

whether circumstances are favourable or
not.
 They only just do what is they have not
find other possibility to doing work.
 They believe that they
will find ways to deal
with the environment
and any challenges that
may come up.
 They have demands that
you must give us the
right conditions and
support to succeed.
 Being acceptance of the ideal of contributorship
Contributors Non-Contributors
• They are willing to step out of
their “comfort zone” and try out
new things.
• They have accept any challenge
in any situations.
• Their positive attitude is “we
can” or “I can”.
• All ways faces challenging
situations positively.
• Finds ways to deal with situation

Conclusion :
 So we’re trying to sell you all is that :
 All the major contributors in present or past have gone
through many obstacles and every time they had to chose
between two roads and they chose “Not To Give UP”.
 And this is what makes them special.
 SO here we can conclude that these people to gain the title
of “CONTRIBUTOR” had to go off books or syllabous.
 step out of our “comfort zone” and
are willing to experiment and fail.
 do something instead of worrying.
 face challenges instead of ignoring
them or running away from them.
 choose to fill our own life with
meaningful and fulfilling activities.
To be a CONTRIBUTOR one should
Non-contributors believe that
circumstances are more powerful than
they are.
Contributors believe that they, as human
beings, are more powerful and can shape
the circumstances they are in.
The first building block is to
shift from a “victim” to being a “creator of one’s
destiny”.
Whereas the contributor doesn’t wait for favorable
circumstances to act, he/she finds ways to deal with
circumstances and still reach the goal.
The non-contributor believes he/she is
out of control and everything depends
on whether circumstances are favorable
or not.
Contributors recognize that they are
responsible for their own problems,
and so they solve these problems.
The second building block is to accept the idea of
Contributor ship.
Non-contributors constantly blame
others.
Making the right choice is an
important step towards
contributor ship.
“Be sure you put your feet in the
right place, then stand firm” -
Abraham Lincoln
Contributors are willing to step out of
their “comfort zone” and try out new
things.
The third building block is the willingness to take
full responsibility for one’s own development.
Non-contributors do not step out of their
“comfort zone”.
Every time we step out of our
“comfort zone”, we take one
step forward on the journey of
contributor ship.
Contributors show the
courage to step out of their
“comfort zone”.
When we begin acting and dealing with
our circumstances, things
often turn out much better than we
imagined.
A person taking positive action is
embarking on the journey of contributor
ship.
The fourth building block is the capacity to reflect
on one’s development and to make appropriate
modifications.
Contributors recognize that they need to
“do something” they do not just sit and
worry without taking action.
“ENGAGING DEEPLY” MEANS GOING
THROUGH AN INITIAL PERIOD OF
STRUGGLE, BEFORE DISCOVERING
THE BENEFITS OF “DEEP
ENGAGEMENT”.

Topics Introduction
 What is enlightened self-interest ?
 Unenlightened self-interest
 Example of Contributor and non-contributor regarding
Enlightened Self-interest
 Contributor qualities regarding “Think In Enlightened Self-
interest”:
 Another Example of Contributor and non-contributor
regarding Enlightened Self-interest
 Strategy regarding enlightened self-Interest
 How to think a Contributor and non-contributor regarding
Enlightened Self-interest?
 Why enlightened self-interest is important?
 Developing enlightened self-interest.
 Another Example of Contributor and non-contributor
regarding Enlightened Self-interest
 Conclusion.
61
 Introduction
 Contributors think in Enlightened Self-Interest.
In every situation they get into, they find a way
to create good for self and good for all at the
same time – including team mates, bosses,
customers, their organization.
 Contrast this with the mindset of a Non-
Contributor. Such a person is only concerned
with his / her own self-interest in a situation.
He/she is not concerned about the impact
(positive or negative) on the other person. This
leads to unpleasant situations, broken
relationships, unhappy team-mates,
subordinates, and bosses, and lower trust in
any situation.
62
What is enlightened self-interest
?
 Enlightened self interest is a philosophy in ethics
which states that person who act to further the
interest of others (or the interest of the or groups
to which they belong),ultimately serve their own
self interest.
 It has often been simply expressed by the belief
that an individual ,group ,or even a commercial
entity will “do well by doing good”.
 It can be simply expressed by the belief “helping
each other help ourselves”.
 The idea is that we can create value and wealth for
the world, which ultimately serves ourselves
,because we live in the world.
63
Unenlightened self-interest
 In contrast to enlightened self-interest is
simple greed or the concept of
“unenlightened self interest”.
 In which it is argued that when most or all
persons act according to their own myopic
selfishness that the group suffers loss as a
result of conflict, decreased efficiency
because of lack of cooperation.
64
Contributor I Would Like To Take Real Life Example
Of “ANNA HAZARE”. He Has Been A
Grate Contributor To The Society. He
Initiated A Change For Betterment And
Upliftment Of The Society.
 He Initiated The LOKPAL BILL Movement
For The Batter Ment Of Our Country
India.
 The Main Reason Behind LOKPALL BILL
Was To Eradicate Corruption From Our
Country.
 He Went On Hunger Strike To Force The
Government To Accept The Bill.
 He Had A Vision Of Corrupt Free India
For The Younger Generations To Come .
65
Non contributor
 One example I would like to quote for a
official is that mr.suresh kalmadi.
 Although he might have worked hard for
the commonwealth games but still
there wear lot of negative points that
were revealed at a later stage.
 He with the support of few other people
did many things which were not in the
welfare of the society. there was a
huge expense which was done during
the CWG but the same was actually not
utilized for that or rather the way it was
utilized was not proper. this created a
wrong image in the eyes of the foreign
players about us as the game at an
international level.
 The incidence shows to a grate the act
of kalmadi as non contributor team
member.
66
 Contributor qualities regarding
“Think In Enlightened Self-
interest”
 Building a positive attitude .
 Success –winning strategy.
 Motivating your self and other
everyday.
 Building positive self-esteem and
image.
 Setting and achieving your goals.
 Doing the right thing for right reason.

ENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST
 Behavior that is in the public interest and which also
serve the interest of the person performing it.
 Begin a civic minded and fair to other is in every one
best interests.
69
Boss:
Let we do work
together
How
kind…..to
us!!!!
I think work will
go fabulously
We Should Work For General Good Rather Then Self Interest
 Strategy regarding enlightened
self-Interest
NON CONTRIBUTOR CONTRIBUTOR
 Worried only about their
narrow role in the total
picture.
 Give respect to only a
selected few.
 Thinks only “win-lose”.
 Thinks only into account
of own interest.
 Focus on the big picture.
 Gives respect to all team
member
 Always think for “WIN”.
 Takes into account the
concerns of all
stakeholders.
70
71
 Non-contributors are
worried only about
their narrow role in the
total picture
 Contributors are
focused on the big
picture
If we can support
each other, then the
company can deliver
a superior product in
less cost and time
Why should I do
this?! This is not
my work!
The other
departments are
always taking
advantage of our
department.
The goal is to satisfy
the customer. I am
quite happy to help /
do what is needed to
achieve that goal.
72
Non-contributors give respect
to only a
“select” few
Contributors give respect to
all team
members
He is a My junior
Officer. I can treat
him in any way I
want
He is in a high position so
I must behave respectfully
to him
It doesn’t matter what the person’s
Position or qualification is . All people
to be treated respectfully because they
Are first and foremost ,human being.
73
WHY ENLIGHTENED SELF-
INTEREST IS IMPORTANT?
Developing enlightened self-
interest.
Begin by practicing enlightened behaviours. Here
are some ideas to get you started now:
 Go out of your way to show positive feelings
towards others - gratitude, respect, trust - which in
turn will arouse goodwill from them.
 Choose some new activities in various life areas -
work, family, leisure - that will bring goodwill.
74
75
At the same time, act assertively. Ask for what
you want, say No to what you don’t, and tell
others (when appropriate) what you think and
how you feel.
Make a point of doing something just for you each
day for a while.
Until enlightened self-interest becomes part of
you, consciously seek to get more of what you
want while facilitating the interests of the other
people in your world.
 Great people leave their identity
behind. They know themselves that
they did not achieve it alone . They
know that behind their success lot
of people are involved without
whom this would not have been
possible.
76
77
 ENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST
Think of non
contributor
Think of contributor
 This boss not give
respect to each and
every employees, he is
always angry on his
employees, also his
behaviour is not good
 And This boss is always
respect to
everyone(Employees),and
also his behaviour is
always good
Conclusion:
 People should try to follow their enlightened
self-interest .
 One should prefer a long –term interest over
short term one.
 “Helping each other to help our selves”.
 In every transaction , if one operates with the
win lose attitude, than one can not collaborate
with anybody.
 By operating out off deep enlightened self
interest, contributors are able to account for all
stakeholders in complex real world situation.
78
•One of the most important mindset of a Contributor
is ‘Trust Behavior’.
•The term Trust Behavior may be described as
character-in-action.
•The person with a trust behavior acting always with
honesty and integrity.
•This includes keeping one’s word and
commitments, staying with a task, acting with integrity
in every situation, making sure that there is complete
transparency in one’s actions and interactions, etc
•Trust and integrity
•being Honesty
•Being impartial and fair with someone
•Being clear
•Maintaining Transparency
•Telling the whole truth
•Presenting data truthfully
•Kipping your promises
Trust is like a eraser, it gets smaller and smaller
after every mistakes..
It is also critical when dealing with small
matters as well as big matters. Trust is a fact like
respect, it cannot be commanded but must be
earned.
Trust is like a glass….once it broken,
it can not repaired, only replaced..
who is helping you, Don’t forget them..
who is loving you, Don’t hate them
who is trusting you, don’t cheat them..
Contributor always
trustworthy in their
communication..
contributor always
telling the whole truth.
being clear.
being transperant
being honest.
• Non contributor can be
confusing the other person.
 non contributor always telling
half truth.
 he making false promises.
 he always hiding proper
information.
 he always lie someone..
a contributor is always
fair and impartial .
which leads to just
decisions and overall
growth of the
organization.
A non contributor is always
selfish and thinks his own
benefits.
 This causes unfairness and
partiality in his decision which
affect his subordinates.
Lying is a way to maximize the short term gain.
Lying also the best way to maximize your gain if
everybody around you is expected to lie.
however , honesty and reputation take time to
build but maximize the long term “hapiness”.
 Without trust and integrity, no work could be
accomplished.
 “These are the foundations of sustainable
results in our career”.
Have patience and be faithful unto death. Do
not fight among yourselves. Be perfectly pure in
money dealings…
 So long as you have faith and honesty and
devotion, everything will prosper.
honesty is truthfulness ,sincerity or frankness..
And also honesty is very expensive give..do not
expect from cheap people..
--Warren buffet

 The way I present my suitability for the job
Let concrete actions / experiences speak for you
PART 3
AFTER THE INTERVIEW
 What are the impressions you have left behind in the
mind of interviewer(s)?
 Whether you get selected for the job or not depends on
these impressions. Thus it is important to leave behind
‘Contributor Impressions’.
(1) Last and lasting impressions
• Thank the interviewer for his or her time,
ask for a business card.
• Evaluate the interview. Determine what
went well, and what might have gone better
(eg. what questions might have been
answered a little differently)
• In your note, reference your key strengths.
• Have someone else proofread your “thank
you” note.
• Call within two weeks to reaffirm your
interest in being hired for the position.

  • 6. Contributor Identity “who am I?”  Non-contributors and Contributors define themselves differently.  Contributors choose ‘Dynamic Identity’.  Non- Contributors have ‘Static Identity’.
  • 7. Static Identity  Non-contributors usually define themselves in terms of what they have acquired in life (e.g. qualifications, position, years of experience, etc.). This is a static identity, based on your past glories or past failures. This static identity leaves you trapped in history
  • 8. Dynamic Person  Contributors define themselves in terms of what THEY will become or accomplish (e.g. capacity to deliver, commitment and ownership of the organization’s purpose, etc.). This is a dynamic identity based on your “being” and “becoming”. Such an identity lets you choose to live a better future.
  • 9. Personality Dynamic Identity Static Identity Broad Minded Aim oriented Unlimited Goals Interest in the other affairs other then their goals Always ready to help ,serve as share their knowledge and whatever power they possessed. Conservative Self Center Limited to Goals Self Oriented No interest in the other affairs other then their goals Not helpful to others Now lets see the difference between static identity and dynamic identity
  • 10.
  • 11. WHAT IS VISION?  A vision is an idea of the future; it is an image, a strongly felt wish.  When we say that a leader has vision, we refer to the ability to see the present as it is and formulate a future that grows out of and improves upon the present.  For leaders, a vision is not a dream; it is a reality that has yet to come into existence.
  • 12. WHAT IS SUCCESS?  Success has different meanings for each of us. For one person it could be a a general sense of happiness.  Another might think of success as meaning making a lot of money and accumulating wealth.  But actually success means “ACCOMPLISHMENT OF DESIRED WISH"
  • 13. The Contributor’s Vision of Success  Contributors have a deeper and wider definition of success than Non-contributors.  While Non-contributors define success in terms of material success, achievement, external impact, etc.  But for contributor success means not only external rewards but also deep inner fulfilment
  • 14. MEANING OF SUCCESS IN CONTRIBUTOR’ S LIFE Personal fulfillment Developme nt of self- esteem Ongoing developme nt of personal capabilities MEANING OF SUCCESS IN CONTRIBUTOR’S LIFE
  • 16.
  • 17. CONTRIBUTORS’ VISION OF CAREER ACQUISITIVE CAREER CONTRIBUTER CAREER
  • 18. CONTRIBUTORS’ VISION OF CAREER  ACQUISITIVE CAREER  The purpose of working is to ‘acquire’ .  One’s interest in the work is proportionate to the rewards .
  • 19. CONTRIBUTORS’ VISION OF CAREER  CONTRIBUTER CAREER  Work is a journey of “contribution” .  Working to contribute to oneself , team , family , society and nation .  One has a steadiness in attitude , not defined by day-to-day rewards .
  • 20. Difference between process worker and contributor  A Contributor makes a shift from “FLOWING PROCESS” to  “MEETING HUMAN OUTCOMES” Doing Activity Making a contribution
  • 21. External + Inner Growth Vision  WIDER VISION OF CAREER EXTERNAL GROWTH ALONE EXTERNAL + INTERNAL GROWTH
  • 22. Keep ‘vision’ at the center, not ‘activity’  The shift from ‘DOING AN ACTIVITY’ To ‘TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR A VISION’ ACTIVITY AT CENTER VISION AT CENTER
  • 23. ‘KEEP PURPOSE AT Center’ BUT ‘NOT KEEP EGO AT Center’ Action that express one’s ego are not contributions Action that serve a purpose become contributions
  • 24.
  • 25.
  • 26. There is Four building blocks for embark on the journey to Contributorship.  First step : From “victim” to being a “ creator of one’s destiny”.  Second step : Being acceptance of the ideal of contributorship.  Third step : Being the willingness to take full responsibility for one’s own developmet.  Fourth step : Being the capacity to reflect on one’s development and make appropriate modification.
  • 27.  “Victim” to “Creator of one’s destiny” CONTRIBUTOR NON-CONTRIBUTOR  Full confidence to do work.  He/she believe that human beings more powerful than circumstances and can shape it very well.  Does not wait for favourable circumstances.  Who always sees “what all I can possibly do” in situation.  Less confidence not believe in himself.  He/she believe that circumstances are power full than they are.  He/she believe that he/she is out of control and everything depends on whether circumstances are favourable or not.  They only just do what is they have not find other possibility to doing work.
  • 28.  They believe that they will find ways to deal with the environment and any challenges that may come up.  They have demands that you must give us the right conditions and support to succeed.
  • 29.  Being acceptance of the ideal of contributorship Contributors Non-Contributors • They are willing to step out of their “comfort zone” and try out new things. • They have accept any challenge in any situations. • Their positive attitude is “we can” or “I can”. • All ways faces challenging situations positively. • Finds ways to deal with situation and still reach the goal. • Non-contributor do not step out of their “comfort zone”. • They have lost courage.they believe that work not for them and if they have never done this before. • Attitude “we can’t never” or “I can’t never”. • Afraid from challenging situation&ignore it. • They have tired and leav the work on time.
  • 30.  Being the willingness to take full responsibility for one’s own development Contributor :  In problems ,contributor think that this problems are created by my self ,by my past action.  Contributor always takes a responsibility to find solutions.  Non-Contributor :  Non-Contributors constantly blame others for all them problems.  They won’t find solutions of their problems ,but blame others or blame circumstances.  They always thinks that “this situation was not created by me , they have some mistake” , so I am not responsible for that.
  • 31.  Capacity to reflect on one’s development and make appropriate modifications o This building block talking us about to become a “self reliant”.  contributor :  Contributor rely on themselves , instead of waiting for others to solve their problems.  He/she does not depend on other for his/her survive.  Contributor make own ways for find answers .  Contributor chose to be self-reliant for his/her development as a contributor.
  • 32. Non-contributor : Non-contributor always depend on others. He/she think that without you and your help , he/ she can’t do this. Without others help they can’t handle the situation .
  • 33. Conclusion :  So we’re trying to sell you all is that :  All the major contributors in present or past have gone through many obstacles and every time they had to chose between two roads and they chose “Not To Give UP”.  And this is what makes them special.  SO here we can conclude that these people to gain the title of “CONTRIBUTOR” had to go off books or syllabous.
  • 34.  step out of our “comfort zone” and are willing to experiment and fail.  do something instead of worrying.  face challenges instead of ignoring them or running away from them.  choose to fill our own life with meaningful and fulfilling activities. To be a CONTRIBUTOR one should
  • 35. Non-contributors believe that circumstances are more powerful than they are. Contributors believe that they, as human beings, are more powerful and can shape the circumstances they are in. The first building block is to shift from a “victim” to being a “creator of one’s destiny”.
  • 36. Whereas the contributor doesn’t wait for favorable circumstances to act, he/she finds ways to deal with circumstances and still reach the goal. The non-contributor believes he/she is out of control and everything depends on whether circumstances are favorable or not.
  • 37. Contributors recognize that they are responsible for their own problems, and so they solve these problems. The second building block is to accept the idea of Contributor ship. Non-contributors constantly blame others.
  • 38. Making the right choice is an important step towards contributor ship. “Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm” - Abraham Lincoln
  • 39. Contributors are willing to step out of their “comfort zone” and try out new things. The third building block is the willingness to take full responsibility for one’s own development. Non-contributors do not step out of their “comfort zone”.
  • 40. Every time we step out of our “comfort zone”, we take one step forward on the journey of contributor ship. Contributors show the courage to step out of their “comfort zone”.
  • 41. When we begin acting and dealing with our circumstances, things often turn out much better than we imagined. A person taking positive action is embarking on the journey of contributor ship. The fourth building block is the capacity to reflect on one’s development and to make appropriate modifications. Contributors recognize that they need to “do something” they do not just sit and worry without taking action.
  • 42.
  • 43.
  • 44.

  • 62.  Introduction  Contributors think in Enlightened Self-Interest. In every situation they get into, they find a way to create good for self and good for all at the same time – including team mates, bosses, customers, their organization.  Contrast this with the mindset of a Non- Contributor. Such a person is only concerned with his / her own self-interest in a situation. He/she is not concerned about the impact (positive or negative) on the other person. This leads to unpleasant situations, broken relationships, unhappy team-mates, subordinates, and bosses, and lower trust in any situation. 62
  • 63. What is enlightened self-interest ?  Enlightened self interest is a philosophy in ethics which states that person who act to further the interest of others (or the interest of the or groups to which they belong),ultimately serve their own self interest.  It has often been simply expressed by the belief that an individual ,group ,or even a commercial entity will “do well by doing good”.  It can be simply expressed by the belief “helping each other help ourselves”.  The idea is that we can create value and wealth for the world, which ultimately serves ourselves ,because we live in the world. 63
  • 64. Unenlightened self-interest  In contrast to enlightened self-interest is simple greed or the concept of “unenlightened self interest”.  In which it is argued that when most or all persons act according to their own myopic selfishness that the group suffers loss as a result of conflict, decreased efficiency because of lack of cooperation. 64

He Initiated A Change For Betterment And Upliftment Of The Society.  He Initiated The LOKPAL BILL Movement For The Batter Ment Of Our Country India.  The Main Reason Behind LOKPALL BILL Was To Eradicate Corruption From Our Country.  He Went On Hunger Strike To Force The Government To Accept The Bill.  He Had A Vision Of Corrupt Free India For The Younger Generations To Come . 65
  • 66. Non contributor  One example I would like to quote for a official is that mr.suresh kalmadi.  Although he might have worked hard for the commonwealth games but still there wear lot of negative points that were revealed at a later stage.  He with the support of few other people did many things which were not in the welfare of the society. there was a huge expense which was done during the CWG but the same was actually not utilized for that or rather the way it was utilized was not proper. this created a wrong image in the eyes of the foreign players about us as the game at an international level.  The incidence shows to a grate the act of kalmadi as non contributor team member. 66
  • 67.  Contributor qualities regarding “Think In Enlightened Self- interest”  Building a positive attitude .  Success –winning strategy.  Motivating your self and other everyday.  Building positive self-esteem and image.  Setting and achieving your goals.  Doing the right thing for right reason. 67

  • 71. 71  Non-contributors are worried only about their narrow role in the total picture  Contributors are focused on the big picture If we can support each other, then the company can deliver a superior product in less cost and time Why should I do this?! This is not my work! The other departments are always taking advantage of our department. The goal is to satisfy the customer. I am quite happy to help / do what is needed to achieve that goal.
  • 72. 72 Non-contributors give respect to only a “select” few Contributors give respect to all team members He is a My junior Officer. All people to be treated respectfully because they Are first and foremost ,human being.
  • 74. Developing enlightened self- interest. Begin by practicing enlightened behaviours. Here are some ideas to get you started now:  Go out of your way to show positive feelings towards others - gratitude, respect, trust - which in turn will arouse goodwill from them.  Choose some new activities in various life areas - work, family, leisure - that will bring goodwill. 74
  • 75. 75 At the same time, act assertively. • 76.  Great people leave their identity behind. They know themselves that they did not achieve it alone . They know that behind their success lot of people are involved without whom this would not have been possible. 76
  • 77. 77  ENLIGHTENED SELF-INTEREST Think of non contributor Think of contributor  This boss not give respect to each and every employees, he is always angry on his employees, also his behaviour is not good  And This boss is always respect to everyone(Employees),and also his behaviour is always good
  • 78. Conclusion:  People should try to follow their enlightened self-interest .  One should prefer a long –term interest over short term one.  “Helping each other to help our selves”.  In every transaction , if one operates with the win lose attitude, than one can not collaborate with anybody.  By operating out off deep enlightened self interest, contributors are able to account for all stakeholders in complex real world situation. 78
