This document outlines the modules and content covered in a Canvas training course for faculty. The 10 modules cover navigation, outcomes, content organization, rich content editing, files, assignments, discussions, quizzes, communication tools, and grading. The course provides online tutorials, activities and exercises to teach faculty how to use Canvas features for online, hybrid or face-to-face classes supplemented with online materials.

1. This course is required for all faculty members who will teach online or hybrid classes
and also for faculty members who will use Canvas to facilitate their face-to-face classes.

6.  You will need a computer with Internet access
(high-speed connection recommended).
 Canvas supports the last two versions of the
most widely used browsers.We have learned
that Canvas works better with Google Chrome
and Firefox than with Internet Explorer. If
Internet Explorer is currently your only browser,
you may want to install Chrome or Firefox. For

7.  This course is a pass/fail course. In order to
pass the course, you will need to complete all
the online activities by the deadlines and
make any needed corrections.
 You will also need to build the Start Here
Module and first two content modules of
your online, hybrid, or web-
enhanced course.
o The term "web-enhanced" refers to supplementing your face-to-face
course with online materials or activities in Canvas.

8.  It is strongly recommended that you log in to the course
several times a week to read all the content in the
modules, read announcements, complete assignments,
post discussions, and take quizzes.
 Logging in daily is recommended. Because this is a 32-
hour course, plan to spend approximately 5-6 hours per
week working in the course.
 Accepted standards of computer etiquette will be

9.  If a student has a disability that
qualifies under the Americans
with DisabilitiesAct (ADA) and
requires accommodations,
he/she should contact the ADA
