This document discusses the cotton production process from planting to end products. Cotton is grown in 17 states in the southern and western United States, with Texas producing nearly 5 million bales of cotton annually. Cotton provides numerous products beyond fabric including cottonseed oil, livestock feed, fertilizer, and explosives. The cotton plant yields cotton lint, cottonseed, and hulls that are used to make textiles, cooking oil, rubber, plastics, soap, and other goods.
