• Cordova is open source implementation of PhoneGap.
• Full/Major parts of Application can create by pure HTML5
[HTML + CSS3 + JavaScript]
• Supports more than 8 mobile platforms
• Developers are allowed to create more customized component
in their native code and able to integrate in Cordova.
• Command Line Interface (CLI) is a tool to create, update and
maintain Cordova projects easily.

• Its important to find the OS (Operating System) architecture
type (x86 or x64).
• So that you can install correct software and able to get full
advantage of it.

6. Download and Install needed
software
• G++ compiler [in Terminal: sudo apt-get install g++]
• Node.js (Source format) https://nodejs.org
• Apache Cordova [in Terminal: sudo npm install –g cordova]
• JDK (Java Development Kit) x64 http://www.oracle.com
• Apache Ant https://ant.apache.org
• Android SDK (Linux) https://developer.android.com
• Brackets Editor (optional) http://brackets.io
• VirtualBox (optional) https://www.virtualbox.org
• Genymotion (optional) https://www.genymotion.com

7. Add Environment variables
• Add JAVA_HOME
o [eg. JAVA_HOME=“/usr/lib/jdk/jdk1.8”]
• Add ANT_HOME
o [eg. ANT_HOME=“/home/aarooraa/dev/apache-ant”]
• Add ANDROID_HOME
o [eg. ANDROID_HOME=“/home/aarooraa/dev/android/android-sdk-linux”]
• Add above all Bin folder in Environment variable Path
• In Terminal : sudo gedit /etc/environment
[Caution : Have full attention while editing environment variable. Misconfigured path may give
crazy problems]

9. Create and run sample
project
• Create Project
o Syntax : cordova create <ProjectName> <ProjectIdentifier> <ProjectMainClass>
o Example : cordova create Hello com.aarooraa.hello Hello
• Change to project folder
o cd ProjectName
• Add Platform
o cordova platform add android
• Build
o cordova build android
• Run
o cordova run android
