2. Step One: Open an Angel announcement and copy it. Do not copy the HTML code, just the
announcement as it appears to students.
Important: Images will be
automatically removed in the
next step, so you should right
click on any images in your
announcements and save them
to your computer. Then, it is
recommended that you upload
these images to your personal
Content Collection* in Learn so
that you can add the images back
into your announcements in step
three.
Copy Angel Announcement
*For more on Content
Collections see Modules 01 and
06 of the Blackboard Learn
faculty training course
3. Step Two: Open the Microsoft program Notepad on your computer. Paste your announcement from
Angel into the empty box on Notepad. Note: All formatting is removed when your announcement is
pasted into Notepad. You will need to reformat your announcement when you paste text from
Notepad into Blackboard Learn (see next step).
Important: Paste copied Angel text in Notepad
prior to pasting in Blackboard Learn to remove
problematic background code that can “break”
pages and courses when copied and pasted
directly from Angel to Blackboard Learn.
4. Step Three: Copy the text that you just pasted into Notepad. Open a new announcement in
Blackboard Learn and paste the text from Notepad into the Announcement Editor. You will need to
insert images using the Insert/Edit images icon (refer back to step one). Additionally, you will need to
reformat your font, etc. using the available tools on the HTML Editor tool bar.
5. Please Note: After you have entered your
announcements into Blackboard Learn, you
can use the Copy from Another Course tool
to copy your announcements from one
course to another. Refer to the Faculty Guide
to Blackboard Learn Updates 1.0 for more
information about using the Copy from
Another Course feature.
