What have i learnt about media technologies from the media course
We used various technologies for researching, filming, and editing our thriller opening. For research, we used the internet and Microsoft Office programs. We then blogged our research online using Blogger. When filming, we used a Canon DSLR camera on a tripod and added artificial lighting to achieve our desired atmosphere and look. During editing, we used Logic Pro X to edit audio, Final Cut Pro to add titles and transitions, and Adobe Premier Pro for further video editing. Both the opportunities and limitations of these technologies helped us produce our thriller opening.

We then blogged our research online using Blogger. When filming, we used a Canon DSLR camera on a tripod and added artificial lighting to achieve our desired atmosphere and look. During editing, we used Logic Pro X to edit audio, Final Cut Pro to add titles and transitions, and Adobe Premier Pro for further video editing. Both the opportunities and limitations of these technologies helped us produce our thriller opening.

The opening features a false alarm to create unease in the audience. Feedback on the finished opening was generally positive.

In post-production, Vimeo was used to upload and post the trailer online, and comments on Vimeo provided feedback on audience expectations.

- 2. CREATE ENIGMA • We created enigma with the use of the black and white effect throughout, the suspended music and different sound effects such as static noise and camera editing such as slow motions and jump-cuts
- 3. ESTABLISH TO THE AUDIENCE WHO IS INVOLVED • It is made clear to the audience that the whole world is effected in our film. It is also shown how big the impact is as we have the voice of the president in it towards the end
- 4. MOSTLY MUSIC PREVAIL USE OF MUSIC SUITED TO GENRE • Our music was created by a member from our group, Matthew. We wanted the opening to be mostly music prevail as we all felt the music he produced successfully created enigma and tension – qualities a thriller should hold
