Wells Fargo Bank Embezzlement System
Embezzlement is an act withholding assets for the purpose of conversion of such assets, by one or
more persons to whom the assets were entrusted, either to be held or to be used for specific purposes.
Embezzlement is a type of financial fraud. a lawyer might embezzle funds from the trust accounts of
his or her clients; a financial advisor might embezzle the funds of investors; and a husband or a wife
might embezzle funds from a bank account jointly held with the spouse.
Embezzlement usually is a premeditated crime performed methodically, with the embezzler taking
precautions to conceal his or her activities of the criminal conversion of the property of another person
(Ponzi,2016), because the embezzlement is occurring without the knowledge ... Show more content on

Abstract/Summary
The aim of my individual research project was to find out whether or not our local community would
like to see equal marriage rights for Australian same sex couples. I created and conducted interviews
and surveys based around the question of Marriage Equality. Should Australian same sex couples be
allowed to marry?
By doing this research project, I hoped to achieve information about the issues faced by same sex
couples and primarily, the societal attitudes towards the group. Before I started, I believed that my
project would show that the majority of people surveyed and interviewed on the topic of

The Rise Of Natural Science
Natural science has been historically recognised as one of the factors affecting the development of
social science; particularly, during the period of the Enlightenment, natural science had been one of
the factors to improve human life (Turner, 2001: 30). The Enlightenment is to help humans emerge
from immaturity and this aim finds expression in Kant s motto Dare to know (Kant, 1784). During the
period of the Enlightenment, due to the remarkable scientific advancement, traditional religion based
societies tended to come to an end and there occurred two revolutions particularly in Western Europe:
the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution. Owing to them, society had been radically
changed in terms of politics and economy albeit new other problems had been brought such as job
competition and capital based societies, in other word, capitalism (Hossain and Mustari, 2012: 64;
Gollin, 1970: 1). As a result, in spite of the end of the absolute monarchy, there still remained the
inequality in societies.
In that situation, the idea of positivism was founded as an anti enlightenment idea by Auguste Comte
who was a French philosopher (Perry, 1993: 247). Positivism is a philosophical system developing
laws for human organisation along with the same way as natural sciences. On the basis of this idea,
Comte also established the term sociology as one of the scientific fields, the science of society
(Giddens and Sutton, 2013: 11). In fact, Comte s idea had not been

Tax Evasion And Tax Avoidance
1.0 Introduction and Purpose of the Research
Over the years, the government has tried to combat tax avoidance and tax evasion schemes through
various approaches such as improvements to existing legislations, strict enforcements and
collaborations with international counterparts. This is done in effort of protecting the government s
main source of revenue and the integrity of the tax system. However, clear and distinctive boundaries
between tax evasion, avoidance and planning were never established in the legislation, hence, it has
caused many uncertainties. In Australia, the Court provides the judicial interpretation as to the
application of the tax law.
Aim of this research is to discuss how the court interprets the application the law ... Show more

2.0 Concepts and Impacts of Tax Evasion, Tax Avoidance and Tax Planning
2.1 Tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax planning
Distinctions between tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax planning are sometimes difficult to be drawn
in clear and precise manners. In general, however, tax evasion typically relates to illegal practices
done intentionally to avoid tax payment, whereas tax avoidance refers to legal exploitations on the
shortcomings of the tax legislations (Barkoczy 2015, p. 721; Leow, Murphy Hooper 2010, p. 1026).
Generally, tax evasion involves concealment of tax liabilities, such as failure to disclose all taxable
income earned, and improper claims, such as deductions for expenses not incurred (Barkoczy 2015, p.
721; ATO 2015a). Due to its legal implications, tax evasion is considered as criminal offence and
attracts pecuniary penalties and jail terms for the offenders (Barkoczy 2015, p. 722). Conversely, tax
avoidance, although uncommendable, is not illegal. Tax avoidance typically involves taking advantage
of concessional tax rates, shifting funds through several entities to minimize tax payable (ATO
2015b), and exploiting tax breaks (ACTU 2011). Some examples of tax evasion and avoidance
practices can be seen from the following figure.
Figure 1 Source: GIZ 2010, p. 19
Unlike tax avoidance which tends to bypass the spirit of tax law (Barkoczy 2015, p. 721), tax planning
is a legitimate way of minimizing tax liabilities, if done in

Analysis Of `` Mirror `` By Sylvia Plath
Mirror by Sylvia Plath is a short lyric poem written with no rhyme scheme as it is written in free
verse. However, the poem has a nice flow to it, as the words fluctuate gracefully through each line.
Plath heavily uses imagery and symbolism in this lyric poem as this can be observed in the first
stanza. In addition to the types of literary devices Plath uses continually throughout her poem, she also
has set her poem in two locations. In the first verse, the setting is in a bathroom, one can infer this
through her use of imagery. The second known setting is a lake, but as a reader, we do not know much
about this lake. The one thing that is quite odd about this poem is the narrative, as Plath uses
personification to give ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which is the main struggle throughout this poem as the women cannot come to realization that her
youth and beauty is fading. The mirror does not show this mist and reveals to the women all her
blemishes and aging marks. As Plath continues her poem she still relies heavily on literary devices
such as personification to convey her poem. She starts the fourth line with the mirror expressing how
honest the reflection of the mirror may be to the viewer. However, the mirror starts to justify the harsh
reflections by saying it only portrays the truth. Plath then starts to use imagery again as she vividly
describes the room in which the mirror is hung. Although the room is cheerful as it is is pink, with
speckles the mirror experiences sadness. Since faces come in to consider the mirror and then leave
abruptly shutting the light off immersing it in darkness. In stanza two Plath now has changed the
narrator from the mirror to the lake. Since in verse ten it says Now I am a lake. Plath uses the lake as a
metaphor because the lake is still serving a purpose similar to the mirror by reflecting images back to
the observer as well. Since the woman goes to the lake and bends over me. Searching my reaches for
what she really is. The women is searching for herself, she is attempting to learn more about herself
through the reflection. The women then proceed to

Essay On Failure Of The IMF
The International Monetary Fund (IMF or The Fund) began its conception in July 1944. The IMF s
primary purpose is to ensure the stability of the international monetary system the system of exchange
rates and international payments that enables countries (and their citizens) to transact with each other (
About the IMF ). Given that the nature of the IMF is to ensure the stability of the international
monetary system one would assume that given the level of public exposure and level of participating
countries that it would be immune to adversity. The purpose of this paper is to present one instance

As collateral for the loan India was forced to pledge 67 tons of gold reserves. As well, India worked
with England and Sweden to pledge another 67 tons of gold, 40 tons and 20 tons repsectively, which
resulted in total depletion of all Indian gold reserves. This created scenarios in which the established
government collapsed and in turn forced government reform based on less than ideal circumstances.
With the results of this experiment being what could be classified a failure the Indian government
rejected a bailout option from the IMF in 2013 and in turn forced IMF intiated reforms towards India s
debt. India using it s own internal economic liberalisation policies has forced self produced economic
reform since 1991, but has still struggled to regain it s econmic stability to where it once was
percieved to be. Further studies have shown that even given the drastic growth patterns, in relativity to
other IMF assisted countries, Indian companies would be the most vulnerable to exchange rate

Transitional Bilingual Education Program Design PROGRAM NAME GOAL/VISION The primary
goal of any school district s English Language Learner policy should be to ensure that all students
receive equitable access to the curriculum. The Office of Civil Rights memorandum (May 25, 1970)
requires school districts to take affirmative steps to provide equal access to instructional program for
students with limited English proficiency. The Illinois Constitution guarantees every child from
kindergarten through grade 12, access to a free public education; which means, regardless of a child s
home language, he/she deserves a free and appropriate education (Illinois State Board of Education,
1998). According to the No Child Left Behind Act of (NCLB) of 2001, one of the Titles III s purposes
was to develop high quality language instruction education programs designed to assist states, district
and schools in teaching limited English proficient children and serving immigrant children and youth (
ESEA Section 3102 (3) as stated in Language Instruction Educational Programs ( LIEPs), 2012 p.

Economic Globalization And Its Impact On Society
Economic globalization has progressed significantly around the globe. First world republics have
evolved due to economics, while possessing economical supremacy over the poor. Developing
technologies, social interactions and the exchange of ideas knowledge promote the expansion of
economical impacts on societies. With growing competition between nations, the world of economics
is seen at every corner. Sources of economic globalization, such as market economies, control every
aspect of a consumer s life, including their wants and needs. Production occurring in industrialized
factories determine the needs and survival of consumers. The growing impact westernization has on
demand, heavily influences the day to day consumer and their investments. Historically, industrial
revolution was one of the major factors which drove economic globalization. From Britain being the
first nation to industrialize, countries around the globe began to discern the economic benefits and
opportunities it brought. So, began the era of industrialization and a new chapter of economies. In
roughly early 1900s, Canada began to encounter economic evolution. Changes in technology and
agriculture enabled the productizing of large scale farming and mass manufacturing, which resulted in
new means of transportation like the railway and canals. One of the most important invention was the
steam engine which was used to power transportation such as railways, ships, and factory machinery.

Warfare In Medieval Italy
Incessant Warfare In the 14th century, the northern Italy was divided into many conflicting city states.
The most powerful of these city states were Milan, Florence, Pisa, Siena, Genoa, Ferrara, Mantua,
Verona, and Venice. The Medieval Italy was then divided by a long battle for supremacy between the
Holy Roman Empire and the Papacy.
The Italian Wars: 1494 1559 The Italian wars are a series of wars for control over Italy that were
fought mostly by France and Spain. The violent wars began in 1494 with the invasion by Charles VIII,
King of France which devastated Northern Italy and ended the independence of many city states. He
conquered Naples but was soon drove out of the country Maximilian I of Spain and the pope of Rome.

only difference was that instead of Spain ruling, Austria was now the dominant power after the War of

My mom sends me inspirational quotes when I am faced with a challenge in my life. In high school I

one of my Ag teachers about it after school that day and I told him I didn t know what to do. He told
me to face it head on, and that he would be right by my side helping me face each obstacle that was

Discrimination against Hispanics
I chose this topic because it s very interesting. I think that we all know that discriminating someone by
their religion, color or nationality is illegal. According to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, its illegal to
against a person based on his/her color, religion, sex, disability, and national origin. But this doesn t
mean its all over and the problem is solved, it may reduce the discrimination but not enough to
eliminate it. Discrimination in the work, purposely or accidentally, not just harms the workers work
knowledge, but it exposes the company to a lawsuit for violating the laws that defend races and
groups. Discrimination against the smaller groups, based on color, race, ethnicity or other groupings,

The Importance Of Weather Conditions In The Sea
Any experienced captain will tell you that weather conditions play a huge roll in decision making
while navigating any vessel. Seaworthiness does not rely on the size of your boat. How your boat
handles weather conditions are taken into consideration during the design and construction process.
Using your boat for what it is designed to do is key. Voyages into water ways and harsh weather that
your boat cannot handle can be disastrous. Different levels of experience determine your ability to
handle weather conditions. One boater may find certain heavy weather conditions to be manageable
while another may not. The type of waterway you re operating on has much to do with how
treacherous weather conditions will become. Navigating in deep, ... Show more content on

The zig zag approach will enable you to leave your boat in the trough long enough to turn. You need
to minimize the time in the trough and being broad side by the swell, so you do not broach. Running
with the swell behind you
When running in front of the sea,, the swell comes from behind you and this can be challenging. The
stern can be swept and pushed side to side. Keep the stern perpendicular to the oncoming seas to
navigate these conditions.
Being lifted by heavy seas is reason for concern. Boats tend fall quickly down the slope crest to
trough. When the stern is high your propeller could rise out of the water. If the rudder loses contact
with the flow of water, it will be left useless. Your boat could yaw to one side and broach into the
trough.
Sliding down the wave fast enough to bury the bow is another reason for concern. Pitchpoling can
exists when the stern is being pushed. To take the swells off one quarter and the other try tacking
before the seas. When running before the seas consider towing a drogue to slow your speed. This will
allow the helmsman an easier time control the stern in the proper position. The heaving to maneuver
When conditions are become violent beyond your control, you and the boat are taking too much force
it s time to for the heaving to maneuver. Depending on the type of boat, this maneuver keeps the bow
in to the wind or a tad off the wind and waves.

Food, Inc.
I was immediately intrigued from the beginning of Food, Inc. There was interesting and valuable

I believe that if people were to know where their food comes from, they would not want to eat it.
There are 47,000 products at a grocery store. But, Food, Inc. implies that this is in fact an illusion
because all of them are made with the same crops. The fact that there are only a few multi national

expensive and most of us are on a ramen budget . There also needs to be tighter laws regarding the
illnesses that can come from improper handling of the meat and crops. I believe that there needs to be
a huge change in the agricultural world, the farmers should not have to be scared of losing money or
being sued because of big companies, such as Monsanto. The huge companies are going to be making
money no matter what without much work. Whereas a farmer puts in work day in and day out and
sadly they do not make much money. I also believe that the film had an extremely negative outlook on
how modern farming practices in agriculture are. I believe that Food, Inc. focused on the negative
outlook of modern farming but did not mention about the different practices or how they have also

The Influence Of The Bobo Doll Experiment
In the contemporary world, there are several considerations regarding the impact of social influences
on the development and growth of a child s temperament and morality.
Television, computer games, food additives, music and the lack of role models are all cited as reasons
for a supposed breakdown in society, and an hyperbolic tendency towards violence.
These concerns have existed for several years, even before the media turned these factors into
sensationalist stories, to try and sell a lot ofnewspapers. During the 1960 s, there was a lot of concern
and dialogue regarding whether or not a child s development was right down tobiological science,

Defining Victory Of The Modern Age Of Warfare
Words Matter: Defining Victory in the Modern Age of Warfare
The United States has not stopped winning wars but the nature of both war and victory has changed.
Adjusting to an evolving geopolitical environment, since World War II the U.S. has changed the
reasons it employs military force and the types of wars it wages. Taken within the context of the each
conflict s era, the U.S. has met with mixed results in each conflict but ultimately has emerged
victorious.
Defining Victory
What is victory? In order to understand victory and defeat it is important to consider the national
objectives that governed each conflict. Since World War II, the U.S. has participated in five major
conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, Dessert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom
in Afghanistan). In each of these conflicts, the U.S. demonstrated military superiority. However, unlike
previous wars, these wars resulted in mixed results based on the specific political and military
objectives of the time.
Korea initiated the policy of containment that defined the Cold War struggle between the U.S. and the
Soviet Union. While the conflict s objectives changed multiple times, the coalition met the initial
objective to prevent the spread of communism on the Korean Peninsula. In Vietnam, while the aim
was the same the results were very different. The U.S. was unable to force a political compromise that
prevented the fall of Democratic South Vietnam.
In contrast to Korea and Vietnam,

pollock Essay
For centuries artist along with society have placed an emphasis on meaning in a piece of art. Art has
always consisted of subject matters, motifs and other pre concieved ideas or thoughts about what one
should use as their focal point in a work of art. The very definition of art though, is an appealing or
attractive object created through any of the fine arts. Nowhere does it say that a work of art must have
a concentration point. Not until the advent of abstract expressionism was the idea of painting from the
unconscious, 1 brought into the art scene.
This movement typically saw artist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pollock s influence upon my work runs strictly in the process itself. Being an athlete, action is the key
to a performance. Whether its throwing a ball or swinging a bat, the relationship in the physical nature
of Pollock s process holds many similarities to the physical aspect of a sport. This relationship is what
s so appealing to me. Other forms of art confine you to standing in front of an easle or sitting at a
desk. Pollock s process on the other hand, allowed him to freely move around the painting while
gracefully and sometimes rigorously applying his paint. Just like in sports, you have a general idea of
how you want to perform but you don t always have control over the results. Abstract expressionism
allows the creator the ability to have a general notion of what he or she wants to create but the final
product may come out altered from the original idea.
In my work the similarities to the works of Pollock run in the process itself. I worked from all angles
of the page, spattering ink from an inkwell. This allowed me to control the flow of the ink, along with
the placement of it upon the page. The differences in my piece are what it mainly possesses. Scale is
probably the most noticeable. Pollock worked on a much larger scale, usually nearing the ten feet
mark. Another big difference

Essay on Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Generalized anxiety disorder(GAD) is much more than the normal anxiety people experience
everyday. It is a chronic condition that is chracterized by excessive worry and anxiety, even though
there aren t any reasonable explanations for the cause. It is diagnosed when a person spends a least 6
months worrying excessively about numerous everyday problems. People who suffer from GAD
always anticipate the worst. They frequently worry about family, money, work or their health. Just
getting through each day provokes anxiety. Individuals with GAD are usually referred to as Worry
Warts . People with GAD can t seem to overcome their constant concerns, even when they realize that

They frequently suffer from insomnia and chronic fatigue. Concentration is difficult because they are
easily startled and agitated. They remain in a constant state of arousal. People afflicted with GAD don
t necessarily avoid particular situations because of their disorder. They are unlike individuals who
suffer from more severe types of anxiety disorders such as panic disorder and severe phobias. If the
impairment from GAD is mild, they are usually able to work and function in most social events. When
the impairment is more severe, it can be debilitating making it almost unbearable to perform simple
daily activities.
Approximately 4 million Americans suffer from GAD, about 2.8% of the U.S. adult population
between the ages of 18 54. GAD usually strikes in childhood or adolescence, but can begin in
adulthood.(2) It affects women more often than men. The reason that females have higher rates than
males for most anxiety disorders has not been clearly identified. Research suggests that the role of
gonadal steroids in women may be a contributing factor for their higher rate of anxiety disorders.
Women also experience a wider range of stressful life events as compared to men, who react to a more
limited range of stressful life events. Other researchers think GAD may be transferred through genes.

Artevivo Gallery Analysis
Art galleries and museums are visual spaces used exclusively for an exhibition and education of art.
Galleries and museums are an essential part of our society as it promotes cultural diversity and
differences. The galleries and museums display art to present the viewer an insight into a variety of
cultures, backgrounds, and communities. On the third Friday of every month, an event in Downtown
Brownsville called Noche de Arte takes place. Noche de Arte consists of 13 local buildings and
galleries that showcase artwork to support art and artists within the community. Out of the 13
galleries, two artworks from Artevivo Gallery struck out to me the most. Artevivo Gallery, which is

Although La Rosa is a digital photograph, the viewer can still see that it is a mixed media piece. While
examining this exquisite piece in person, it is abstractly profound by a technique of how everything is
placed together by a collage type of form. The way the emphasis is on the flower is quite beautiful that
brings this photograph together. The variation of colors, writing, and cut outs shows movement in the
piece, yet flows around the flower. The second piece that stood out the most to me was also another
photograph by Mari Ortiz called Loving the Architecture. Architecture, especially in the downtown
area, is antique yet interesting to look at. This picture s medium required various techniques such as
color correction, sizing, cropping, viewing, and printing in a dark room. The color of this picture
defines the boldness and texture of the building in a naturalistic way. Although printing digitally in a
dark room prints the photograph in black and white, the way the shadows captures depth and tones is

The Nba Player s Association
Professional sports have been a passing time in our generation and more importantly a business. Over
the years sports have gained millions of viewers and fans. Sports arenas and stadiums seats have been
sold as a result millions of dollars have been made through professional sports. Before social media
and mass media shined light to life as a professional athlete, we were unaware of exactly what went on
behind the curtains between the athletes and the organization that they played for. Despite the fact that
athletes can earn a lot of money at the highest level, they also experience bad work conditions,
dissatisfied with how they are treated, unreasonable pay and benefits, and the organization not being
interested in their well being. According to an article by Andrew Flint, The NBA Player s Association
was founded in 1954 with Bob Cousy of the Boston Celtics as the first president. It wasn t recognized
by the owners until 1964 when the players threatened to boycott the first televised All Star Game
(Flint, 2013). The NBA labor union was created because prior to the union players in the NBA
received no pensions, no healthcare, no pier Diem, no minimum wage, and an average salary of
$8,000 (Flint, 2013). In the NBA specifically unions still exist for the players that are not superstars
that need representation when they are mistreated by the NBA. Unionization offers employees a
method for countering employers powers to unilaterally change employment conditions.

helped launch the Nasdaq stock market. He served as a chair in National Association of Securities

The Role Of Minos In Dante s Inferno
Dante s Inferno is a great poem because of the allegorical aspects that Dante puts into this story. A
large aspect of this allegory is the guardians of the different parts of hell. These guardians are used to
describe the punishments administered in the different levels of hell. Minos the guardian of Circle two
guards the lustful. Minos administers the punishments to the sinners making him play the role of an
accuser. The sinner s bodies confess their sins, and they know all about themselves, but it is too late to
repent. Minos is used to stress because the sinners cannot deny the sins they committed which is
torture to them. The lustful are taken away by their passions from their lives before, and they are
tossed about by a wind. Dante considers lust to be the worst, because it s mutually committed by both
people. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cerberus is portraying gluttony in mythology, he was known to eat anyone that approached hades,
which makes him a glutton as well. Being a glutton himself, he must give in to his uncontrollable
appetite. When Dante throws dirt in Cerberus mouth he is overtaken by his appetite, while he is
distracted the poets enter the circle. Cerberus is an example of how the soul is taken over by gluttony.
He cannot do his job when something to eat is offered even dirt. The sin is a dark one, because the
perpetrator worships food higher than God, this is represented as rain, which shows the true nature of
gluttony as something dark and twisted. Gluttons are alone because they ate alone, and they are sad
because their insatiable appetites can never be

Education Is Not Well Defined As Well
According to Labaree (1997) a public good is one where benefits are enjoyed by all the member of the
community, whether or not the actually contributed to the production of this good . On the other hand,
economic literature states that a good can be considered public if it is not excludable and nonrival. The
first characteristic means that if an individual consume this good the other people are not excluded
from consuming it. The second means that when one person consumes the amount available to other
people does not reduce the quantity available for others (Varian, 1992).
It is hard to set education as a public good. Because, the way we discuss education is not well defined
as well. Sometimes people discuss education in country level (or as a system), in the school level or in
the classroom level. Note that the concept of public good can be different in each case. For instance, in
classroom level it seems difficult to accept education as a public good. If a classroom has a limited
size, we are excluding people when we decide to put a group in that class. The nonrival attribute does
not seem to be true in the classroom level as well. Suppose the classroom has a student that demands
teacher all the time, the education available for other students in the classroom can be reduced.
Nonetheless, Labaree discuss education as a system. In this case, the characteristic of a public good
fits better. If policy makers decide to provide a new seat in one school, it seems that

Artificial Limbs
As technology has progressed exponentially, there have been lots of contributions made in the medical
world. One significant contribution is no other than the advancement of artificial limbs. Artificial
limbs augment the abilities of amputees and other patients with malformed body parts, lost due to
trauma and injuries, or never formed due to congenital defect complications. Currently, there are
approximately two million people living with limb loss just in the United States alone. Out of the two
million people suffering with limb losses, 82% of them are secondary to vascular diseases, 16% are
secondary to trauma related injuries, 11% are secondary to cancers, and the last 1% are due to
congenital deficiencies. With the help of prosthetics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important factor is due to technology advancements. As technology continues to improve,
lighter and more durable prosthetic limbs are becoming available. But this may not decrease the cost
of the limb base on how the economy works. The cost for artificial limbs varies depending on the parts
one needs and whether or not one has insurance. For patients with insurance, the out of pocket costs
should be around 10% 50%. The cost for artificial limbs also depends on the patient s amputation
level, condition and needs. If the patient has a higher level of needs then the insurance would be more
likely to pay for a higher percentage of cost or provide a better prosthetic limb to compensate the
needs. However, for patients without healthcare insurance, the cost of prosthetic limbs would increase
drastically. Normally, a basic prosthetic leg can be costed less $10,000, but a more advanced
prosthetic leg would cost up to $70,000 or more depending of the level of amputation and the type of
leg. Not only that artificial limbs are extremely expensive, the cost of a new limb can add up over a
lifetime as well. This is due to the lifespan of a prosthetic limb is often limited to 3 to 5 years.
Therefore, it means that the limb would need to replace every few years and cost for each new limb
are needed to pay for because they are not one time cost. With that being said, although Obamacare
has developed to help citizens with low incomes, better healthcare insurance need to be implemented
to accommodate the increasing needs of

The Importance of Personal Responsibility
The Importance of Personal Responsibility
GEN/200
As an adult you are responsible for every action that you take, but before that action are a series of
thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Your personal responsibility starts at a young age, you are
either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable of your own
actions or the responsibility is taken from you. Depending on how you were brought up your transition
into becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one where everyone is to blame but
yourself. As an adult the one thing that you know is a constant is that you will be held accountable for
your actions whether you like it or not.

Sojourner Truth And Louisa May Alcott
During the eighteenth and nineteenth century, American Literature was considered to be of
insignificant quality compared to that of English Literature, and was rarely recognized in the literary
world. However, this opinion did eventually change because of the success of some very creative
American authors. Sojourner Truth and Louisa May Alcott were two women who not only produced
unforgettable works of literature and presented powerful speeches, but also had a monumental impact
on American Literature as well as American history. These women represent the unique American
spirit because of their bravery and determination for their voices to be heard for what they believed in
during a time when women were meant to be seen but not heard.
The literary world during this time period was dominated by men, but the world was changing, and
women began to make a name for themselves as creative and legitimate writers. During the time in
history women were also fighting for their rights to be heard and treated equally among men. Also, the
issue of slavery was at its peak as the country became divided behind the issue, and the prospect of a
civil war was becoming more of a reality.
Sojourner Truth was born in Upstate New York in 1797 (Baym 804). She was not born into a life of
privilege or ease. Truth could not read or write, but she became one of the most influential speakers of
the time (Baym 801). She fought for the abolishment of slavery, as well as the rights of women (Baym
801).

The Alamo Movie Analysis
The Alamo is a 2004 American war film about the Battle of the Alamo amid the Texas Revolution; it
is a motion picture that catches the dejection and fear of men sitting tight for two weeks for what they
hope to be sure passing, and it some way or another succeeds in taking those popular society brand
names like Davy Crockett and James Bowie and giving them human structure. The film was
coordinated by Texan John Lee Hancock, delivered by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and Mark Johnson,
dispersed by Touchstone Pictures, and featuring Dennis Quaid as Sam Houston, Billy Bob Thornton as
Davy Crockett, and Jason Patric as James Bowie. The film relates to history, the Alamo looks exact,
and, in reality, we find that San Antonio de Béxar was deliberately re made with small saving of cost.
In any case, a feeling of the way the occasions at the Alamo are joined with the national story of
slavery, development, and the evacuation of Native American from the eastern United States in the
1830s and 1840s is missing. On the off chance that we incorporate this bigger story, we can maybe
figure out the more extensive point of view that at first created enthusiasm for the venture. Texas

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development
Emily Bradshaw
Professor David Iannaccone
Introduction to Psychology
December 4th, 2014
Abstract
In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and
why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the
different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult
behaviors.
Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the
psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to
psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual
growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation
designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The
American Heritage® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I
feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage
refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once
a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists
have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All
the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will
have

Legal Positivism Over Natural Law Theory
Introduction This article discusses the conceptions of legal normativity, both moral and strictly legal
conceptions. According to Spaak, regarding the normative force of legal justification, legal positivists
can still embrace the moral idea and not be in conflict with their generally held belief in the strictly
legal concept of law. In Torben Spaak s opinion, there is a reason to desire legal positivism; he
explains this through introducing the concept of jurisprudence. When discussing the nature of law,
Spaak states, that while the moral conception is what is likely favored on a smaller scale, the strictly
legal conception is more appealing because it is broader, (478). Spaak is arguing, his belief that
validity based explanations come nearer to the truth, (483) rather than belief based explanations. He
concludes that we are to prefer legal positivism over natural law theory. That is why in this article I
have been concerned with the law itself rather than our views about it. (483) Spaak actually states that
his focus has been exclusively on the law rather than people s opinions of the law. He does not appear
to be consistent in this focus. Rather, he fluctuates many times between agreeing and disagreeing with
whether morals have a base in law itself or in just the application or theory of law.
Summary I agree mostly with what Ronald Dworkin is quoted as stating in this article. His opinion of
the moral conception of law s normativity (479) is what

  • 5. The Rise Of Natural Science Natural science has been historically recognised as one of the factors affecting the development of social science; particularly, during the period of the Enlightenment, natural science had been one of the factors to improve human life (Turner, 2001: 30). The Enlightenment is to help humans emerge from immaturity and this aim finds expression in Kant s motto Dare to know (Kant, 1784). During the period of the Enlightenment, due to the remarkable scientific advancement, traditional religion based societies tended to come to an end and there occurred two revolutions particularly in Western Europe: the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution. Owing to them, society had been radically changed in terms of politics and economy albeit new other problems had been brought such as job competition and capital based societies, in other word, capitalism (Hossain and Mustari, 2012: 64; Gollin, 1970: 1). As a result, in spite of the end of the absolute monarchy, there still remained the inequality in societies. In that situation, the idea of positivism was founded as an anti enlightenment idea by Auguste Comte who was a French philosopher (Perry, 1993: 247). Positivism is a philosophical system developing laws for human organisation along with the same way as natural sciences. On the basis of this idea, Comte also established the term sociology as one of the scientific fields, the science of society (Giddens and Sutton, 2013: 11). In fact, Comte s idea had not been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.0 Concepts and Impacts of Tax Evasion, Tax Avoidance and Tax Planning 2.1 Tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax planning Distinctions between tax evasion, tax avoidance and tax planning are sometimes difficult to be drawn in clear and precise manners. In general, however, tax evasion typically relates to illegal practices done intentionally to avoid tax payment, whereas tax avoidance refers to legal exploitations on the shortcomings of the tax legislations (Barkoczy 2015, p. 721; Leow, Murphy Hooper 2010, p. 1026). Generally, tax evasion involves concealment of tax liabilities, such as failure to disclose all taxable income earned, and improper claims, such as deductions for expenses not incurred (Barkoczy 2015, p. 721; ATO 2015a). Due to its legal implications, tax evasion is considered as criminal offence and attracts pecuniary penalties and jail terms for the offenders (Barkoczy 2015, p. 722). Conversely, tax avoidance, although uncommendable, is not illegal. Tax avoidance typically involves taking advantage of concessional tax rates, shifting funds through several entities to minimize tax payable (ATO 2015b), and exploiting tax breaks (ACTU 2011). Some examples of tax evasion and avoidance practices can be seen from the following figure. Figure 1 Source: GIZ 2010, p. 19 Unlike tax avoidance which tends to bypass the spirit of tax law (Barkoczy 2015, p. 721), tax planning is a legitimate way of minimizing tax liabilities, if done in ... • 7. Analysis Of `` Mirror `` By Sylvia Plath Mirror by Sylvia Plath is a short lyric poem written with no rhyme scheme as it is written in free verse. However, the poem has a nice flow to it, as the words fluctuate gracefully through each line. Plath heavily uses imagery and symbolism in this lyric poem as this can be observed in the first stanza. In addition to the types of literary devices Plath uses continually throughout her poem, she also has set her poem in two locations. In the first verse, the setting is in a bathroom, one can infer this through her use of imagery. The second known setting is a lake, but as a reader, we do not know much about this lake. Which is the main struggle throughout this poem as the women cannot come to realization that her youth and beauty is fading. The mirror does not show this mist and reveals to the women all her blemishes and aging marks. As Plath continues her poem she still relies heavily on literary devices such as personification to convey her poem. She starts the fourth line with the mirror expressing how honest the reflection of the mirror may be to the viewer. However, the mirror starts to justify the harsh reflections by saying it only portrays the truth. Plath then starts to use imagery again as she vividly describes the room in which the mirror is hung. Although the room is cheerful as it is is pink, with speckles the mirror experiences sadness. Since faces come in to consider the mirror and then leave abruptly shutting the light off immersing it in darkness. In stanza two Plath now has changed the narrator from the mirror to the lake. Since in verse ten it says Now I am a lake. Plath uses the lake as a metaphor because the lake is still serving a purpose similar to the mirror by reflecting images back to the observer as well. Since the woman goes to the lake and bends over me. Searching my reaches for what she really is. The women is searching for herself, she is attempting to learn more about herself through the reflection. The women then proceed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Defining Victory Of The Modern Age Of Warfare Words Matter: Defining Victory in the Modern Age of Warfare The United States has not stopped winning wars but the nature of both war and victory has changed. Adjusting to an evolving geopolitical environment, since World War II the U.S. has changed the reasons it employs military force and the types of wars it wages. Taken within the context of the each conflict s era, the U.S. has met with mixed results in each conflict but ultimately has emerged victorious. Defining Victory What is victory? In order to understand victory and defeat it is important to consider the national objectives that governed each conflict. Since World War II, the U.S. has participated in five major conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, Dessert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan). In each of these conflicts, the U.S. demonstrated military superiority. However, unlike previous wars, these wars resulted in mixed results based on the specific political and military objectives of the time. Korea initiated the policy of containment that defined the Cold War struggle between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. While the conflict s objectives changed multiple times, the coalition met the initial objective to prevent the spread of communism on the Korean Peninsula. In Vietnam, while the aim was the same the results were very different. The U.S. was unable to force a political compromise that prevented the fall of Democratic South Vietnam. A large aspect of this allegory is the guardians of the different parts of hell. These guardians are used to describe the punishments administered in the different levels of hell. Minos the guardian of Circle two guards the lustful. Minos administers the punishments to the sinners making him play the role of an accuser. The sinner s bodies confess their sins, and they know all about themselves, but it is too late to repent. • 29. Education Is Not Well Defined As Well According to Labaree (1997) a public good is one where benefits are enjoyed by all the member of the community, whether or not the actually contributed to the production of this good . On the other hand, economic literature states that a good can be considered public if it is not excludable and nonrival. The first characteristic means that if an individual consume this good the other people are not excluded from consuming it. The second means that when one person consumes the amount available to other people does not reduce the quantity available for others (Varian, 1992). It is hard to set education as a public good. Because, the way we discuss education is not well defined as well. Sometimes people discuss education in country level (or as a system), in the school level or in the classroom level. Note that the concept of public good can be different in each case. For instance, in classroom level it seems difficult to accept education as a public good. If a classroom has a limited size, we are excluding people when we decide to put a group in that class. The nonrival attribute does not seem to be true in the classroom level as well. Suppose the classroom has a student that demands teacher all the time, the education available for other students in the classroom can be reduced. Nonetheless, Labaree discuss education as a system. In this case, the characteristic of a public good fits better. If policy makers decide to provide a new seat in one school, it seems that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As technology continues to improve, lighter and more durable prosthetic limbs are becoming available. But this may not decrease the cost of the limb base on how the economy works. The cost for artificial limbs varies depending on the parts one needs and whether or not one has insurance. For patients with insurance, the out of pocket costs should be around 10% 50%. The cost for artificial limbs also depends on the patient s amputation level, condition and needs. If the patient has a higher level of needs then the insurance would be more likely to pay for a higher percentage of cost or provide a better prosthetic limb to compensate the needs. However, for patients without healthcare insurance, the cost of prosthetic limbs would increase drastically. Normally, a basic prosthetic leg can be costed less $10,000, but a more advanced prosthetic leg would cost up to $70,000 or more depending of the level of amputation and the type of leg. Not only that artificial limbs are extremely expensive, the cost of a new limb can add up over a lifetime as well. This is due to the lifespan of a prosthetic limb is often limited to 3 to 5 years. Therefore, it means that the limb would need to replace every few years and cost for each new limb are needed to pay for because they are not one time cost. Sojourner Truth And Louisa May Alcott During the eighteenth and nineteenth century, American Literature was considered to be of insignificant quality compared to that of English Literature, and was rarely recognized in the literary world. Sojourner Truth and Louisa May Alcott were two women who not only produced unforgettable works of literature and presented powerful speeches, but also had a monumental impact on American Literature as well as American history. These women represent the unique American spirit because of their bravery and determination for their voices to be heard for what they believed in during a time when women were meant to be seen but not heard. The literary world during this time period was dominated by men, but the world was changing, and women began to make a name for themselves as creative and legitimate writers. Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development Emily Bradshaw Professor David Iannaccone Introduction to Psychology December 4th, 2014 Abstract In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult behaviors. Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The American Heritage® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Legal Positivism Over Natural Law Theory Introduction This article discusses the conceptions of legal normativity, both moral and strictly legal conceptions. According to Spaak, regarding the normative force of legal justification, legal positivists can still embrace the moral idea and not be in conflict with their generally held belief in the strictly legal concept of law. In Torben Spaak s opinion, there is a reason to desire legal positivism; he explains this through introducing the concept of jurisprudence. When discussing the nature of law, Spaak states, that while the moral conception is what is likely favored on a smaller scale, the strictly legal conception is more appealing because it is broader, (478). Spaak is arguing, his belief that validity based explanations come nearer to the truth, (483) rather than belief based explanations. He concludes that we are to prefer legal positivism over natural law theory. That is why in this article I have been concerned with the law itself rather than our views about it. (483) Spaak actually states that his focus has been exclusively on the law rather than people s opinions of the law. He does not appear to be consistent in this focus. Rather, he fluctuates many times between agreeing and disagreeing with whether morals have a base in law itself or in just the application or theory of law. Summary I agree mostly with what Ronald Dworkin is quoted as stating in this article. His opinion of the moral conception of law s normativity (479) is what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
