The Music Industry Of The Revolutionary Digital Age
The recorded music industry is a major part of the media and entertainment industry that is
responsible for creating, manufacturing, and distributing music. As technology has continued to
advance rapidly, the music industry has become one of the most dynamic industries in decades, as
well as the wildest among industry roller coasters. Listeners are now able to expand their music tastes
and collect more music in virtual libraries than ever before, thanks to technological innovations that
allow access to convenient outlets for music downloading, such as iTunes and Amazon. As music has
evolved from being delivered on cassette tapes and CDs to mp3 files that can be downloaded directly
onto computers and smartphones, record label companies are ... Show more content on

In fact, digital music has been a major contributor to the music industry s revenue increase since its
recent emergence. Subscriptions to online music services and online radios, such as Pandora and
Spotify, have also assisted in raising the industry s overall profits by over $200 million during the past
5 years (Degusta). Nonetheless, despite the overall transition to digital format, physical music sales
still account for a substantial proportion of industry revenues in major markets. Physical formats
account for more than half of all global revenues, while digital formats now account for 39% of total
industry global revenues and a majority of revenues in 3 of the world s top 10 markets (Smirke). Aside
from the aforementioned factors, there are numerous others that are taken into account when
determining the industry s profitability as a whole. Some of the many various revenue streams include
physical format or record sales, digital downloads, performance rights, and synchronization revenues.
While profits from one variable may face a sharp increase, another may see a major decrease. For
example, between 2003 and 2009, U.S. revenue for single downloads increased by over $1.2 billion
and by nearly $0.8 billion for album downloads. On the other hand, during this 6 year time frame, CD
sales in the United States dropped over $1.6 billion and cassette tape revenues practically reached zero
by the end of 2009. Evidently, one of the most vital revenue streams of the industry

How Does Randall Jarrell Use the Imagery in Durer’s...
How does Randall Jarrell use the imagery in Durer s engraving of the knight, the devil and death to
symbolically convey a philosophy of life using powerful poetic devices?
The knight, Death and the Devil poem written by Randall Jarrell, based on the engraving by German
artist Albert Durer depicting a valiant knight, on horseback treading along the path of life. A path beset
on all sides by many obstacles, and the dark forces ranged against the knight in his journey. Created in
1513, Durer s engraving s key characters include a Knight in armour, riding along a narrow road with
the grinning devil at one end and on the other, a figure of death in the form of deceased knight. Jarrell
uses the elements of the vivid imagery contained in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Companioned so, the Knight moves through this world
Thus protected he is able to
He listens in assurance, has no glance
To spare for them, but look s past steadily
The fourth and final stanza portrays externalizations of our feelings for Death and the Devil thus
making them allegorical figures.
Death of his own flesh, set up outside him
The flesh of his own soul, set up outside him
Jarrell uses repetition as a device in the final stanza to emphasize the importance and allegory of these
figures towards the Knight.
His being accuses him yet his face is firm
The alliteration of face and firm exaggerates the strength of the Knight, to reinforce the meaning of his
power in the reader s mind.
In resolution, in absolute persistence
The folds of smiling do for steadiness
The face is its own fate a man does what he must
And the body underneath it says I am.
Randall Jarrell includes another allegory to explain how the Knight kept a steady state of mind to
strengthen the body to not display his real feelings in his soul. His look completed him, and
determining his own fate by forcing a straight face.
Imagery has been used historically to convey morality. Jarrell is using imagery in a similar way to
reinforce and decorate the poem in a profound way by contrasting the robust and valiant figure of the
Knight onto everything that we come

Comparison Of Gamefly Vs. Gamestop
GameFly vs GameStop, which is better?
I have received a lot of questions asking which of these companies is better.
Well the answer is really tough.
You have to decide which of these is going to actually save you money. I have provided a comparison
of each and then you can decide, which will save you the most.
Let s start with GameStop; it is a heavy hitter in the gaming consumer world. With presence online
and at retail store you can find one, even in the smallest of cities. It s main selling point is that it takes
trade in games and sells them a cheaper price then new games. The prices of trade in values for games,
consoles, and even smart phones and tablets are all listed on the website. That way you know exactly
what you ll be getting if you choose to trade with them. You can choose to take cash, which you ll
receive a smaller amount of return or store credit, which is slightly higher.
GameStop also offered a return program, where you if you purchase a Pre Owned game and you do
not like it, beat it too quickly whatever the case may be, you can return it within 7 days of purchase
date and receive a full refund. Unfortunately, that is not the case for new games, they must be
unopened and in the original condition unless there is some kind of defect with the game, however
there is a 30 day window in which to return.
Currently, GameStop is trying to sell a rewards program, the GameStop PowerUp Rewards. There is a
free program offering significantly less

Hockey Narrative
A very important moment in my life was when I won my very first state championship for hockey. My
team and i were headed to Dallas, Texas for a tournament in the 2007 08 season. We were quite
nervous for this trip because it was an invitation only tournament. We arrived in Dallas around 9 pm
so we had to get a good nights sleep right away in order to be prepared for our game the following
day. Although waking up in the morning is hard now; waking up early then was a hoot. We loved it for
some reason. When we got to the game, we did the usual warmup: streching with the team, taping our
sticks, and getting ourselves pumped up and ready to go for the game. We went out there and won
leaving our best effort on the ice. As the games went on we made it to the ... Show more content on

eager to win that championship and bring home the banner to our organization for the third year in a

Pay It Forward Reflection
A young boy in social studies class is given an assignment, along with the rest of the students, to come
up with an idea that could change the world. As well as coming up with an idea, the students also have
to put it into action. Trevor McKinney (Haley Joel Osment) does not know nor understand how a kid
his age can change the world. When he is riding his bike home from school, he passes up a site where
a group of homeless people live, and the idea of how he can change the world comes to him. He
figures that if he helps one person, then that person can help three, and so on. This begins his plan to
Pay it Forward.
The movie Pay It Forward (based on a novel by Catherine Ryan Hide) is directed by Mimi Leder at
Warner Brothers Studio. It was released in the year 2000, being a PG 13 drama. Starring in this movie
is Kevin Spacey (Eugene Simonet), Helen Hunt (Arlene McKinney), Haley Joel Osment (Trevor
McKinney), Jon Bon Jovi (Arlene s husband), and Angie Dickinson (Arlene s mother). The main idea
of the movie is for a class of kids to come up with a way to change the world and do it not just talk
about it. The project does not go exactly as Trevor plans it, but it comes out bigger than he could have
imagined.
The acting portrayed in this movie by Haley Joel Osment as the young Trevor McKinney is excellent.

Reflective Reflection
The British Association of Occupational Therapists (2007) states that reflective practice is
fundamental in continuing professional development (CPD) in order to keep skills and knowledge up
to date and to practice effectively, safely and legally (Health and Care Professions Council, 2012).
Reflection is vital for all healthcare students in order to establish links between theory and practice
(Jasper, 2013), that will help increase clinical reasoning and enhance professional practice (Rigby et
al., 2012). Using models of reflective thinking makes sure that reflections are meaningful to our
personal CPD (Armitage et al., 2012).
Models of reflective thinking are designed to aid us reflectively. Each models varies in how much
information, description, evaluation and critical analysis are needed. The most commonly used models
in healthcare are; Gibbs, Kolb and Borton. In order to choose a reflective model an individual must
firstly know what they want to achieve and how in depth they want to go with their reflection (Jasper,
2013).
For this reflection I have chosen Gibbs (1988) model to help me understand my role, actions and
behaviours throughout my group work sessions with my Personal Professional Development (PPD)
group and explore and evaluate the interactions with the multi disciplinary team (MDT) during the
research of a patient care pathway. The reasons for choosing Gibbs model is that it is clear and precise
which allows for description, analysis and evaluation

The Sentimentality Of William Tavener Passage Analysis
The passage, The Sentimentality of William Tavener are chronologically ordered. Since the author
choose to write this short story in the order in which it happened it helps the flow of the passage.
Because this story started as it was happening you have to figure out what the conflict in the story is;
this intrigues the reader by peeking their curiosity into what that conflict may be. In the passage it
opens with Hester slightly persuading her husband s seemingly stubborn attitude. She states, William,
I don t think it would hurt you to let the boys go to the circus in town tomorrow. As if she assumes that

Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials
Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of
a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their
beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to
the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values
often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups
exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of
those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology
of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the
state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering
those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with
stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to
beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their
manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the
time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices
the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in
tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often
containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a
sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this
sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost
impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. Due to their individualism and
distaste for social ingratiation, the generation established an underlying pragmatic nature in the society
of their time. In addition to this, Generation Xers grew up in an age of incessant political turmoil. Take
for example, the Cold War,

Wolf Of Wall Street Quotes
Title: Wolf of Wall Street Author: Jordan Belfort Text: Novel I have never agreed on how anyone

written by Jordan Belfort is about a Former stockbroker and trader. Jordan Belfort tells his story of
how within 6 years he rose to the top with an investment business he created called Stratton Oakmont
from selling penny stocks. Jordan Belfort has left me disgrace of how such a human being could be so

Jordan Belfort had chose all the wrong decisions that he had done with his money but what I bring out

of dollars a day without thinking twice about it. For me, I believe that at 27 years old and making 49
million dollars a year is an unbelievable achievement in anyone s eyes! I had so much money I didn t
know what to do with it for anyone to have said anything along these lines is amazing. Jordan was not
the smartest person with his money, however I feel like a lot of people with the amount of money he
had would do the same as he did. Jordan had enough money to buy whatever he liked, including a 147
foot yacht. In my eyes if having that doesn t inspire people I don t know what will. To me Jordan has
been one of the most successful people I have heard of in a business place in the shortest amount of
time, from when he first started 22 to when he made the most of his money 27. In 5 years Jordan had
risen to the top of the world in being one of the most successful people in the world. For me

Finding home boarded up; a sensation of coldness and unwelcoming takes over. Sudden misfortunes

In essence, we learned many important lessons. First, when the business is new and its future is
uncertain it should not invest in large capital. Next, the business should outsource only when it is
appropriate considering the risks and benefits. And most importantly, we learned that in a small
business situation, the company should focus on its core competency in bringing value to the business
and the customers. II. Strategy Identification The challenges faced by Nucleon, Inc. present more of
an issue with how to take full advantage of an opportunity in front of them, rather than a problem that
poses a threat to the company. As a company in its early stages, only putting out its first product, it is
critical that it is done in a manner that allows the budding firm to grow. The main issue here is
determining the most effective means by which they are to manufacture and market their first product,
CRP 1. Doing so requires in depth evaluation of three strategic options, all with their own benefits and
potential risks. The problem statement, therefore, is as follows: Problem Statement: Nucleon, Inc.
needs to determine the best course of action for the manufacturing and sale of its first product, CRP 1,
in order to grow the budding company and gain sustained competitive advantage against large rivals.

Analysis Of Les Vacances De Monsieur Hulot
Les Vacances de Monsieur Hulot (Monsieur Hulot s Holiday) was the second film created by French
actor, screenwriter, and filmmaker Jacques Tati. The film was released in 1953 and earned Tati an
Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Monsieur Hulot s Holiday debuts Tati s
unusual and eccentric character Mr. Hulot during his French beach side holiday. Tati presents us with
perspectives from relatable every day characters in a film that has no real plot and very little dialogue.
This unconventional presentation allows the viewer to enjoy people watching at the beach without the
use of added narrative. Tati s use of slapstick comedy and parody elegantly pokes fun at the
conventional during the easy going characters misadventures. Tati s unique stylistic use of mise en
scene is captivating and narrative lacking comedy is a delight to watch. Mr. Hulot is presented to us as
an awkward lanky gentleman who is constantly leaning forward and walking on his toes. Hulot wears
a funny hat with the bill folded up in the back and a long pipe hanging from his mouth in most scenes.
With his hands constantly on his hips and an inquisitive look on his face it is difficult to tell if Hulot is
intelligent or the village idiot. Whether he is smelling random objects, falling clumsily through
doorways, or causing a disruption in the common area, Hulot is fun seeking and completely himself
and his antics contrast well against the more serious, order seeking vacationers. Some of

Chaucer s The General Prologue Essay
Chaucer s The General Prologue Chaucer the pilgrim starts out The General Prologue with detailed
descriptions of each pilgrim as he views them. When Chaucer the pilgrim arrives at the Pardoner, he
becomes very focused on his physical appearance and what is seems to be missing. There is something
odd about this Pardoner and Chaucer the pilgrim can t seem to grasp just what that is. He describes
that the Pardoner is all on fire to do is job, just arriving from Rome (Bretful of pardon, come from
Rome al hoot). However, his eagerness to Pardon those for God does not help his physical appearance
in any respect. Chaucer the pilgrim describes his voice as that of a high pitched goat and points out
that he has no facial hair and will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Putting together his femininely smooth, boyish appearance with the neutered animal pushes the
emphasis on the Pardoner s ambiguous sexuality. This description of the Pardoner through Chaucer
the pilgrim s eyes reaffirms the other pilgrims idea of him. His character is that of a gentle yet
pompous boy, who spends much time on his own appearance, especially his hair. The Pardoner seems
to attempt to market himself as a young bachelor in front of his fellow travelers but the attempt fails
miserably. When he interrupts the Wife of Bath s prologue to say, I m getting married soon, tell me
what to do to find a good wife, he further alienates himself from the group instead of redeeming
himself as a funny person. His interruption comes off more as a need for others to see him as desirable
by a female. Another odd quality of his character is his confession of his own sinfulness. The Pardoner
commits this grievous rhetorical fault in trying to gain their pride. The other characters don t need to
announce, These are my sins, because we find out through their story what that character is like.
However, the Pardoner has to announce his sins in hope of finding a connection with the other
pilgrims, for his story does not explain his character at all. In fact, it revolts his fellow travelers
because the

Framing Climate Change As An Issue Of Sustainable Development
Framing climate change as an issue of sustainable development also has positive impacts for the
governance of adaptation measures. It has been recognized that mitigation efforts have not sufficed to
stop or even minimize the damage of global warming, with experts agreeing that the INDCs will not
reach the intended reduction target of 2 degrees (International Energy Agency 2015). This has been
argued to be the result of a top down approach that centers on nation states making international
treaties concerning climate change (Harris 2012: 285). This is often unsuccessful because, not only do
states have competing interests, but this approach divorces the problem from important economic
issues (O Brien 2006: 3) However, the discourse of sustainable development recognizes that the
causes and effects of climate change are integral to all aspects of global society. This entails that
climate change policy is not only environmental but is also concerned with decisions concerning aid
lending, energy markets, and such decisions, are not only made by states but by corporate bodies, but
also by civil society and the everyday person (Bulkely and Newell 2010: 106).
There has been a clear lack of leadership and direction within the global community prioritizing
climate change. Transnational corporations, especially those concerning the energy sector, are huge
contributors to the problems associated with climate change. Yet these corporations are extremely
politically powerful, such

The Running Dream Wentdelin Van Daanen Analysis
There s no such thing as easy. Not anymore (Van Draanen 46). The Running Dream by Wendelin Van

personal record receiving race, her team s bus was hit and the lower half of Jessica s right leg had to

Dream has five separate parts, The Finish Line , Headwind , Straightaway , Adjusting the Blocks , and

Everything that happened to Jessica in the past six months had led up to that moment for her. Once she
started running again, she did not want to stop. Sherlock and I run the whole five mile loop over
Aggery Bridge every morning. When I wake up tired, I remind myself how long I ve waited to be able
to run again, and it gets me up, (Van Draanen 282). Even with all the work that Jessica had gone
through to get to where she was, she still wanted to do more. Her friends Rosa was fascinated by the
thought of crossing the finish line. Since she had been in a wheelchair her entire life, she never had the
chance. Jessica decided that that was going to change. Even though she had only been running for a
month on her prosthetic, Jessica began training for her town s annual 10 mile race. Jessica decided that
she was going to help Rosa cross her finish line by actually pushing her across it. Jessica put in so
much work to be able to achieve what seemed to be such a ridiculous goal. She ran everyday pushing
around a wheelchair filled potting soil, lifted weights, and she began eating a protein filled diet to
build her muscle. Jessica was so determined to do this for Rosa, even though she was disabled herself.
The morning of the race was quite exciting, both for Jessica and Rosa. One minute! the announcer
calls. My heart speeds up. I feel suddenly light headed. And then there s the pop of the starting gun. It

Internet Privacy And The Internet
Imagine a world without major programs like Facebook or Microsoft office, how would we get our
candy crush reminders, or write a five page essays for an English final. Major programs like the ones I
ve stated may not have been possible without hackers. Hackers are people who gain access to
unauthorized information using a computer. I know, it sounds bad that people are gaining
unauthorized information by computer, but they actually make the internet a safer place. With the
growth of the internet comes the growth of hackers and internet privacy. New laws that would increase
internet privacy and, limit hackers would halt the internets growth and development. Since the year
2000, the internet has grown enormously we can all agree and with this growth comes a growth of
internet users. With all the internet users, online comes people trying to accuse their information by
illegal means. People are uncomfortable with the fact that people are gaining access to their
information and tracking their web usage. When conducting an interview with Ms. Rebecca LaFave
the Reference Librarian I asked her the question Do you believe it ok if the hackers/businesses track
your movement across the web ? and she replied with No. I find it extremely intrusive, at best. At
worse it s an invasion of the 14th Amendment (Lafave). People feel as if hackers are taking advantage
of them by using their information but some hackers may be helping online users. With everything,

Passion On Screen And Real Life
Passion on Screen and Real Life: Ava Gardner in Mogambo
Cinema fans love to expound on the lives and careers of their favorite classic film stars. Though few
young people in the current day and age have a true understanding of the difficulties that came with
being a young starlet, in particular being taken seriously as a performer. This is particularly true of
Ava Gardner, who was regarded as just a pretty face for a majority of her career. Gardner really only
gained respect after her performance as Honey Bear Kelly in John Ford s 1953 film Mogambo
opposite Clark Gable as Victor Marswell. In Mogambo, Ford allowed Gardner to utilize her real
personality which brought her character to the next level and catapulted her career into a more ...

Italian Influence On The High Renaissance
Like previously mentioned in the class, I have an intense interest for Italian art since I have been in
contact with it since birth. Because of this I would like to explore the High Renaissance since I feel
experienced and comfortable with this art period. The High Renaissance, or the Italian Renaissance,
lasted from 1330 to 1550 with Florence, Italy being the birthplace of it all. In the following essay I
would like to discuss Neo Platonists, which was the dominant philosophy so to speak at the time.
Secondly, I will talk about the Medici family and their influence during this period. Lastly, I will
discuss various Renaissance men such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael because they
were the people who shaped and defined the period. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Alcatraz Prison History
The history of Alcatraz Prison is a long and interesting story. Alcatraz Prison was one of the biggest
and the toughest prisons in the world and it wasn t just any prison that would house any insignificant
lawbreakers. This was the type of prison that would house people who misbehave in the other prisons.
This prison had a capacity of 312 prisoners and throughout it s years of service, it housed a total of
1,576 prisoners. The life of these prisoners were always terribly strict in its first few years of service,
but then ended up a little easier as the years progressed. There have only been 14 escape attempts from

In addition to that, 17 officers were wounded and one prisoner who didn t participate was wounded as
well. There were five total prisoners who started it and three died in battle and the two others were
executed. It was an escape attempt gone wrong in which the prisoners that held the two guards hostage
tried to use them as shields and battle their way out of the prison. Long story short, the military came
in to deal with it and the two hostages died, three prisoners were shot and killed and the other two
were captured and executed. There were also five people who actually escaped out of the prison, but
every one of the guards presumed that they drowned. The first escape attempt was made by two
people, Theodore Cole and Ralph Doe who climbed out by cutting out the bars in their workshop and
then jumped into the bay water, however it was a deeply stormy night and they didn t have a boat so
the guards presumed that they drowned and were swept away with the current. The next three people
who escaped were, Frank Morris, John Anglin, and Clarence Anglin but there was a fourth one who
couldn t squeeze through out of his cell in time. The plan was to use some fake heads and put them in
their beds and then come out of their cell through the decaying air vents and into the unguarded utility
hallway where they would climb up the a fan vent and out on top of a concealed cell block which
guards covered up because prisoners who would sweep up there would accidentally sweep dust on top
of the guards so they covered it up. After it was covered up, they managed to build a makeshift raft
and life jackets with over 50 stolen raincoats which took weeks to make, and then after that, they took
the raft up to the roof through a vent and then escaped into the water. The police questioned the one
guy who didn t escape in time and he told them everything. The police say that

Two Perspectives Of The The Book Of Jonah
Disobedience is essentially a prideful power struggle against someone in authority over us. It can be a
parent, a priesthood leader, a teacher, or ultimately God. A proud person hates the fact that someone is
above him. He thinks this lowers his position (Ezra Taft Benson). The book of Jonah is based off of a
man who disobeys God. Jonah disobeys God because he was already aware of how the people of
Ninevah would react to the word of God that he came to share. The Book of Jonah can be used as a
piece of art that describes the late 5th to early 4th century in Nineveh. It shows that God ultimately has
the finally decision and he is able to do things to show others the consequence of being disobedient.

Those that lived in the East believed the story of Jonah but didn t believe that Jesus was crucified and
raised from the dead. One major thing that they could never see their God do was allow His prophet to
undergo such humiliation (The Importance of the Book of Jonah). Those that lived in the West
disagreed that Jonah was swallowed by a fish and spit back out in three days. If miracles cannot take
place then the story of Jonah must be false ( The importance of the book of Jonah). However both
cities are incorrect because the two situations cannot coincide without each other. As Jonah was
swallowed by the fish, Jesus was buried in the tomb ( The importance of the book of Jonah). This
passage shows that the two situations were connected to each other. Without one you can t have the
other. As Jonah was given new life, Jesus rose from the death (The importance of the book of Jonah).
From the source The importance of the book of Jonah readers can inform that the East and the West
had their differences like any other crosstown cities. With time there is hope that the two cities can be
educated and shown that without Jesus dying on the cross for our sins, Jonah wouldn t have been able
to repent and pray for deliverance from the belly of the whale. Because of Adam and Eve Jesus
sacrificed his life and allowed men to torture him so those that are like Jonah and don t obey God s
commands can be given a chance to ask for forgiveness and try to do what was right in the first

A Comparison Of Louis Pasteur And Charles Darwin
The scientific revolution in our life cannot be denied in any way or neglected at present. The use of
scientific inquiry method has changed the way we perceive, think, experience and analyze our

dominance in people s life. People had many difficulties to know and believe the reality of their

Causes Of Tension In Colonial America
Colonial America in the seventeenth century become very independent from England, this caused
tensions politically, socially, religiously and economically. The tensions did not automatically take
place; however, things that weren t considered issues previously became amplified problems as
England tried to tighten their control over the colonies. Having the tensions of social and economic
growth it lead to the Salem Witch trials that occurred in Massachusetts. There was a great amount of
independent growth throughout colonial America, tensions definitely rose as colonial America refused
to allow England to have full control. A major part of the independent growth was the legal system
that America had formed. While they adopted many of the essential elements of the English legal
system, they had major differences in the American legal system (Brinkley, 2012). For example,
punishment was different from England s, instead of prison or the gallows, the Americans took a
different route. The forms of punishment in colonial America was whipping posts, branding iron,
stocks, and the ducking stool (Brinkley, 2012). The colonists thought of law as reflection the divine
will or as a result of natural order, not as an expression of power (Brinkley, 2012). Another growth of
independence was politics in America. The Americans created groups of self government which was
very local and not dependent on the English (Brinkley, 2012). This was not much of an issue for a

Womanhood is not the only identifying feature of women as our different socioeconomic

womanhood overcoming the powerful socioeconomic differences between women, as well as the

Neuropathic Pain Essay
(1) A cardinal sign of inflammation is acute pain. The inflammatory response functions to remove the
injurious stimuli, which is recognize by the efferent role of nociceptors, and begin cell healing. This
process involves chemical mediators, which rush to the receptors on the primary sensory nociceptive
neurons in the peripheral nervous system through vasodilation and extravasation. This can occur in
injured skin, joints, and muscles. Specialized pro resolution mediators (SPMs) such as resovlins
resolve the acute inflammation and inhibit inflammatory pain through directly binding to nociceptor
receptors. Resolvin also activates ChemR23 which effectively inhibits the pain transduction ion
channel TRPV1. This acute pain and initial inflammation is protective in nature.
However, when chronic inflammation takes place, it can be damaging and leads to several diseases
including periodontal disease. The neuronal plasticity, through peripheral sensitization, is one aspect
for this transition into chronic pain. Central sensitization causes heightened responses ... Show more

During the last 30 years, the global car market has undergone significant changes in driver experience
due to technological progress (Knight, 2012). Today, a typical middle class car comes with standard
features, such as power windows, automatic gearbox and electronic stability program (Handmer,

stop mechanism enhanced cruise control, active lane assistance and self parking technology
(Handmer, 2014; Knight 2014). These innovations make driving more comfortable, but still require

However, before driverless vehicles enter the market three main challenges relating to technology,
legal and consumers lie ahead (IHS Automotive, 2014). Software reliability and cyber security must
be guaranteed (Kelly CNN, 2014), a legal framework for self driving vehicles regarding insurance and
liability has to be established (Kelly CNN, 2014) and consumers must be convinced to accept
driverless vehicles (IHS Automotive, 2014). Consumers may question, whether driverless driving
features will offer an overall better option than driving themselves. Taking into account that failure of
consumer acceptance entails considerable costs to companies (Chiesa Frattini, 2011). It is essential for
organizations to understand under which circumstances customers accept autonomous cars.
Acceptance and future use of new technologies are frequently subject to tradeoffs between uncertain
benefits and costs of adopting the new invention (Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, Davis, 2003). Several
studies have researched the acceptance of driver assistant systems (DAS) (Adell, 2009; Arndt, 2004;

The Effects Of Alcohol On The Brain
One of the most significant cause of motor vehicle fatalities, injuries and risk of car crash is drinking
and driving (Chou et al., 2005). Alcohol impacts the brain by slowing down the procedure of receiving
and processing information from eyes and directing actions, and the capability to function efficiently
(Transport and Main Roads, 2010). Furthermore, it decreases clarity of vision, ability to see far and in
dark, ability to make judgements, induce sleepiness and increase likelihood of risk taking behaviour.
These effects of alcohol have a significant impact an individual s ability to drive safely and securely
while intoxicated with alcohol. Drink driving does not only impact the driver themselves, but also
those who are victims of accidents caused by drink drivers. In Australia, drink driving continues to
remain as one of the highest contributors to road fatality and injury, even though it has reduced
remarkably since the 1980 s (Terer Brown, 2014). This paper will discuss some of the findings from
an external interview (refer to Appendix A), and compare them to literature on the impacts and
consequences of drink driving, a theoretical framework that supports a countermeasure to effectively
reduce drink driving behaviour in society. Our interviewee s opinion regarding drink driving was that
it is a high concern in road safety. Findings from Transport and Main Roads (2012) report demonstrate
that alcohol related crashes were the highest contributors in fatal crashes in

Independence Introduction
Auditors provide comfort and assurance regarding a corporation s financial position and its financial
statements. The assurance field centers upon one common trait: trust. Trust is vital to an auditor
because investors must feel confident that the financial statements accurately reflect the company s
financial standing. Auditor independence is the backbone behind the perceived trust and comfort an
auditor provides while examining the financial statements. If an auditor impairs independence, how
can an investor ensure that he or she is relying upon accurate information? Since trust is an essential

What You Don t Know Might Kill You
What You Don t Know Might Kill You Millions of Americans wake up every morning and make a
decision about what they will eat for breakfast to jump start their day. Some may reach for a bowl of
Cheerios or multigrain cereal, while others may opt for yogurt, toast, or a pastry. Some people choose
to wash down their breakfast with pulp free orange juice, while some may drink a protein drink or an
invigorating coffee to get them going. For lunch, many people will consume sandwiches piled high
with meats and cheeses or perhaps a cheap meal from the nearest fast food restaurant. When it comes
to dinner, this meal may vary from family to family, but most dinners consist of a starch or two, a kind
of meat, some variation of a vegetable on a good day, and a dessert to finish out the day.
People who regularly eat this way have more than just food in common. In fact, most people who
constantly eat the previously mentioned American diet, suffer from some sort of physical, mental, or
emotional illness, whether it be chronic headaches, poor gut health, obesity, diabetes, asthma, chronic
fatigue, ADHD, anxiety, or any of the other thousands of health problems. Many people suffering
from these illnesses are led to believe that there is no direct cure and that they will just have to cope

an identity and without a companion to help mold her identity, Curley s wife became the tragic
consequence of love s absence. She became unhappy, lonely, desperate, and a whole number of things
that conspire against making a person happy. All these emotions and feelings pent up inside of Curley

Overall, these facts point toward the idea that without companionship, despair ensues. George and

The Goal- Book Report
Book Report: The Goal
This paper is a book report on the novel entitled The Goal written by Eliyahu Goldratt and Jeff Cox.
The 40 chapter book is actually a business book written in the form of a novel that makes it interesting
to read unlike other business textbook. As a novel, the book is entertaining but at the same time, very
informative for management or accounting students as well as for the real life company managers and
CEOs who wanted to apply different managerial practices. The paper summarizes the novel and
makes analyses in relation to Operations Management.
The novel took place at a fictitious town called Bearington where the Uniware manufacturing plant of
the UniCo company is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He told Jonah that the plant he is working with installed some robots that have increased productivity
by 36%. Jonah replied with so your company is making 36% more money from your plant, just by
installing some robots? Alex said no and Jonah asked again was your plant able to ship even one more
product per day as a result of what happened in the departments where the robots were installed? Alex
answered again with a no while Jonah asked again if the plant has fire anybody and if the inventories
go down but Alex s answers are no. Jonah again asked with such high efficiencies you must be
running your robots constantly? Alex said yes and Jonah continued with predictions that the plant s
inventory is very high and Alex s plant can not deliver products on time. Jonah added that Alex thinks
he is running an efficient plant but he is not.
Through that conversation, Alex realized that productivity is the act of bringing a company closer to
its goal ( 1992). Alex thought the company s goal is to increase efficiencies but he later realized that
every company s goal, including his plant, is to make money or to be profitable and anything that
comes closer to the goal is considered as productive.
Due to this realization, the next thing he did was to talk to the plant s accountants to determine how
the company can make money. The company will have money if the net profit increased along with

Marie Gullemine Benoist Essay
Adoring one of the walls upstairs in the San Diego Museum of Art in the Balboa Park is a neoclassical
masterpiece crafted by French born artist Marie Guillemine Benoist. This Oil painting, done on
canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With
the respectful dimensions of 100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging
slightly above eye level it is easy to behold the bold and obvious detailing of the beautiful young
women it portrays. However as visually stunning as this painting may be, the real beauty can be found
in the history, controversy, and significance this work conceals in secret.
Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was born in Paris France
in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the world at the height of the neoclassical art
movement it is no wonder this is where she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this
style can be seen quite a bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is
prominently known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of
beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by the classical art
and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

one of three paintings that she had shown, at the Salon through their open exhibit policy. However,
showing this painting at the Salon and past artist affiliation caused the provocation of controversy for

Moral Law vs. Political Law in Sophocles’Antigone Essay
One has the capability to determine from right and wrong and having the determination to stand up for
what one believes in, no matter what the price is. In Sophocles Antigone, a written dramatic play,
Sophocles portrays the theme that at times of one s life, it is necessary to follow moral law and ignore
political law. In the play, a determined and courageous woman named Antigone is loyal to her beloved
brother by granting him a proper burial and having to suffer the consequences for revolting.
Throughout Antigone, several incidents occurred where the political law was of no importance to the
individual. Conflicts between Antigone and Ismene and then with Creon and Antigone are examples of
the theme. The theme also ties with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally on page 774, Antigone is still determined to give her loving brother, Polyneices, a proper
burial when she says, ...as for me, I will bury the brother I love. In this incident, Antigone is
headstrong about giving her brother what he deserves, despite the fact that Ismene told her to obey the
law. Antigone is acting as if she were a rebellious teenager because she is contradicting political laws
to perform acts that would seem moral to her for the sake of Polyneices. Like the discussion Antigone
had with her sister, she will remain being headstrong to whoever confronts her. Later in the play,
Antigone was captured for being caught in the act of burying her brother and is now conversing with
King Creon about her decision made to revolt. On page 783, Creon is surprised when he says, ...you
dared defy the law, to Antigone due to boasting her rebellious actions. In this demonstration, Antigone
does not deny her guilt, but declares all of the information, provided by the guards, true. Antigone
does not care for the consequences, which is death; she knew what she would create for herself when
she chose to bury her brother. A second example of this is on page 784 when Antigone states, There is
no guilt in reverence for the dead. By what Antigone said, she believes it should not be against the law
to have reverence or lamentation towards the dead, especially if the deceased is part

Generating Electricity
Generating Electricity
Criteria A Criteria B
Farzad Siganporia

Today in our modern society, us humans take a variety of things for granted. One particularly, goes
unnoticed. One, which we cannot live without, and one which changed our lives forever.
ELECTRICITY. Electricity exists in a metropolis city, to aircrafts in the air to every remote corner on
our earth. During the 1800s, British scientist Michael Faraday discovered the fundamentals of
generating electricity. His method, which is movement of a loop of wire between the poles of a
magnet, is still used today. Without electricity, the world would be a different place to live in.

Electricity is then produced. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be
called wind farms.
Clipart
Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some
limitations in the economic factor. Wind turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost is
recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges from $1.2 million to
$2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today are 2 MW so
roughly after installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This is a very large
amount and a very high initial cost for a company to invest in. This is one factor why countries usually
select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow)
Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people living
near them. Wind farms affect communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This also affects
the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes noise pollution as well as it is an
eye sore. So therefore it may be a problem for some countries to develop communities in that area and
a problem for local people who live nearby. (GCSE Bitesize) However, to every dark cloud has a
silver lining. There are also benefits of wind power. In the ethical factor, it is a positive step. Using
wind power instead of fossil fuels

Rhetorical Devices In The Glass Castle
Adversity, unfavorable fortune or fate; a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress.
Adversity is something everyone encounters at some juncture in their life. Many people concede in the
face of adversity, while many people persevere through the struggles they face daily. Jennette Walls
wrote The Glass Castle, a memoir that unmasked the dark mysteries of The Walls Family s onerous
life. She continuously proves that no one s background they can make it through the adversity in their
lives. Jeannette captivates the readers by using rhetorical devices. She utilizes symbolism so she can
express the importance of certain objects in her life, imagery to include emotion and enthusiasm, and
irony to add a little humor to the book.
Objects can prove to be the cause of some of the most impactful features or events in someone s life.
Once he finished work on the Prospector and we struck it rich, he d start work on our Glass Castle.
(Walls 25). The Prospector was a symbol of aspiration, she wanted to have a more exciting and
fulfilling life. Although it also represents lies and distrustfulness because her father never actually
worked on the Prospector. Instead, he went out and got drunk. The Glass Castle is quite impactful in
Jeannette s life, it gave her hope for a better life. However it s not just that, it s confidence in her
father. That he will provide for her and create a good life for her, despite the drinking and other
horrible habits he has developed. Jeannette

A Study Of Modern Characterization Through The Works Of...

English 9, Period 6
March 9, 2015
It s All in the Head:
A study of modern characterization through the works of Salinger and Woolf
During the twentieth century, many writers emerged including, J.D. Salinger and Virginia Woolf.
Virginia Woolf helped show that the novel didn t have to just be about the big and the grand, but also
the everyday. Salinger and Woolf s books often included intimate details from their lives. They
broadened the field of what was considered acceptable for writing. For example, in The New Dress , a
short story by Virginia Woolf, Mabel struggles with depression and bipolar disorder. Woolf also
struggled with depression and bipolar disorder throughout her life. In addition, Salinger used ... Show

In the works of Salinger and Woolf, the reader first notices that stream of consciousness does not
allow for the characters to keep secrets and reveals their hypocrisy as they behave differently than
their thoughts. Holden s hidden sides are revealed in when he talks about those who he cares about
such as when he talks about his dead brother: My brother Allie has this left handed fielder s mitt
(Salinger 38). Holden says I m the most terrific liar you ever saw in your life but shows that he
actually cares about people in his life such as Jane Gallagher and his siblings Allie and Phoebe
(Salinger 16). In Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, Peter Walsh, a former lover of Mrs Dalloway,
visits her and tries to seem detached but we see from inside his mind his true thoughts: But it was
Clarissa one remembered...Not that she was striking; not beautiful at all; there was nothing
picturesque about her; she never said anything especially clever; there she was, however; there she
was. No, no, no! He was not in love with her any more! (Dalloway 76). Peter has been unable to move
on from Clarissa and he tries to convince himself and others that he loves another woman, but he
cannot lie to himself and therefore we, the readers, see the truth. Stream of consciousness is also used
for characterization of individuals because the characters are transparent. An example

  • 2. The Music Industry Of The Revolutionary Digital Age The recorded music industry is a major part of the media and entertainment industry that is responsible for creating, manufacturing, and distributing music. As technology has continued to advance rapidly, the music industry has become one of the most dynamic industries in decades, as well as the wildest among industry roller coasters. Listeners are now able to expand their music tastes and collect more music in virtual libraries than ever before, thanks to technological innovations that allow access to convenient outlets for music downloading, such as iTunes and Amazon. Subscriptions to online music services and online radios, such as Pandora and Spotify, have also assisted in raising the industry s overall profits by over $200 million during the past 5 years (Degusta). Nonetheless, despite the overall transition to digital format, physical music sales still account for a substantial proportion of industry revenues in major markets. Physical formats account for more than half of all global revenues, while digital formats now account for 39% of total industry global revenues and a majority of revenues in 3 of the world s top 10 markets (Smirke). Aside from the aforementioned factors, there are numerous others that are taken into account when determining the industry s profitability as a whole. Some of the many various revenue streams include physical format or record sales, digital downloads, performance rights, and synchronization revenues. While profits from one variable may face a sharp increase, another may see a major decrease. For example, between 2003 and 2009, U.S. revenue for single downloads increased by over $1.2 billion and by nearly $0.8 billion for album downloads. On the other hand, during this 6 year time frame, CD sales in the United States dropped over $1.6 billion and cassette tape revenues practically reached zero by the end of 2009. How does Randall Jarrell use the imagery in Durer s engraving of the knight, the devil and death to symbolically convey a philosophy of life using powerful poetic devices? The knight, Death and the Devil poem written by Randall Jarrell, based on the engraving by German artist Albert Durer depicting a valiant knight, on horseback treading along the path of life. A path beset on all sides by many obstacles, and the dark forces ranged against the knight in his journey. GameStop also offered a return program, where you if you purchase a Pre Owned game and you do not like it, beat it too quickly whatever the case may be, you can return it within 7 days of purchase date and receive a full refund. Unfortunately, that is not the case for new games, they must be unopened and in the original condition unless there is some kind of defect with the game, however there is a 30 day window in which to return. When he is riding his bike home from school, he passes up a site where a group of homeless people live, and the idea of how he can change the world comes to him. Reflective Reflection The British Association of Occupational Therapists (2007) states that reflective practice is fundamental in continuing professional development (CPD) in order to keep skills and knowledge up to date and to practice effectively, safely and legally (Health and Care Professions Council, 2012). Reflection is vital for all healthcare students in order to establish links between theory and practice (Jasper, 2013), that will help increase clinical reasoning and enhance professional practice (Rigby et al., 2012). Using models of reflective thinking makes sure that reflections are meaningful to our personal CPD (Armitage et al., 2012). Models of reflective thinking are designed to aid us reflectively. Each models varies in how much information, description, evaluation and critical analysis are needed. The most commonly used models in healthcare are; Gibbs, Kolb and Borton. In order to choose a reflective model an individual must firstly know what they want to achieve and how in depth they want to go with their reflection (Jasper, 2013). For this reflection I have chosen Gibbs (1988) model to help me understand my role, actions and behaviours throughout my group work sessions with my Personal Professional Development (PPD) group and explore and evaluate the interactions with the multi disciplinary team (MDT) during the research of a patient care pathway. Generational Differences Of Generation X And Post-Millennials Generational Differences of Generation X and Post Millennials When observing the core ideologies of a group, the various circumstances to which the said group was exposed profoundly impacts their beliefs, in turn developing the methods through which their ideologies arise in society. Pertaining to the values of given generations, the stark contrast existing between the application of their values often compromises the structure of society as a whole as the conflicts arising between the said groups exacerbates societal similarities between generations. With the disparity existing between the lives of those from Generation X and Post Millennials and consequently their values, the cumulated ideology of society, existing from a combination of both groups values, has challenged the well being of the state of health and in turn, initiated the deterioration of genuine interaction and integrity. Considering those associated with Generation X, their core values, grounded in independence coupled with stability, allowed society to develop a structure through which individuals could function. Prior to beginning to perceive the values of the generation themselves, one must first observe their manifestation given the context of the time period. In observing the socioeconomic situation of the time, an era of two income families, rising divorce rates, and a faltering economy (Kane), one notices the breeding ground for their individualistic ideals and consequently their core ideologies grounded in tangible success rather than true fulfillment. The necessity to adapt to the home situation often containing two working parents, often divorced, inevitably allowed those in Generation X to develop a sense of independence a more importantly, perceive the need for it, from a young age. Given this sense of stoicism that was allowed to develop through this, one can see the generation s almost impervious nature to the psychological implications of social jealousy. Due to their individualism and distaste for social ingratiation, the generation established an underlying pragmatic nature in the society of their time. In addition to this, Generation Xers grew up in an age of incessant political turmoil. Take for example, the Cold War, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The film was released in 1953 and earned Tati an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Monsieur Hulot s Holiday debuts Tati s unusual and eccentric character Mr. Hulot during his French beach side holiday. Tati presents us with perspectives from relatable every day characters in a film that has no real plot and very little dialogue. This unconventional presentation allows the viewer to enjoy people watching at the beach without the use of added narrative. Tati s use of slapstick comedy and parody elegantly pokes fun at the conventional during the easy going characters misadventures. Tati s unique stylistic use of mise en scene is captivating and narrative lacking comedy is a delight to watch. Mr. Hulot is presented to us as an awkward lanky gentleman who is constantly leaning forward and walking on his toes. Hulot wears a funny hat with the bill folded up in the back and a long pipe hanging from his mouth in most scenes. With his hands constantly on his hips and an inquisitive look on his face it is difficult to tell if Hulot is intelligent or the village idiot. This description of the Pardoner through Chaucer the pilgrim s eyes reaffirms the other pilgrims idea of him. The Pardoner seems to attempt to market himself as a young bachelor in front of his fellow travelers but the attempt fails miserably. When he interrupts the Wife of Bath s prologue to say, I m getting married soon, tell me what to do to find a good wife, he further alienates himself from the group instead of redeeming himself as a funny person. His interruption comes off more as a need for others to see him as desirable by a female. Another odd quality of his character is his confession of his own sinfulness. Framing Climate Change As An Issue Of Sustainable Development Framing climate change as an issue of sustainable development also has positive impacts for the governance of adaptation measures. It has been recognized that mitigation efforts have not sufficed to stop or even minimize the damage of global warming, with experts agreeing that the INDCs will not reach the intended reduction target of 2 degrees (International Energy Agency 2015). This has been argued to be the result of a top down approach that centers on nation states making international treaties concerning climate change (Harris 2012: 285). This is often unsuccessful because, not only do states have competing interests, but this approach divorces the problem from important economic issues (O Brien 2006: 3) However, the discourse of sustainable development recognizes that the causes and effects of climate change are integral to all aspects of global society. This entails that climate change policy is not only environmental but is also concerned with decisions concerning aid lending, energy markets, and such decisions, are not only made by states but by corporate bodies, but also by civil society and the everyday person (Bulkely and Newell 2010: 106). There has been a clear lack of leadership and direction within the global community prioritizing climate change. Transnational corporations, especially those concerning the energy sector, are huge contributors to the problems associated with climate change. When conducting an interview with Ms. Rebecca LaFave the Reference Librarian I asked her the question Do you believe it ok if the hackers/businesses track your movement across the web ? and she replied with No. I find it extremely intrusive, at best. The inflammatory response functions to remove the injurious stimuli, which is recognize by the efferent role of nociceptors, and begin cell healing. This process involves chemical mediators, which rush to the receptors on the primary sensory nociceptive neurons in the peripheral nervous system through vasodilation and extravasation. This can occur in injured skin, joints, and muscles. Specialized pro resolution mediators (SPMs) such as resovlins resolve the acute inflammation and inhibit inflammatory pain through directly binding to nociceptor receptors. Resolvin also activates ChemR23 which effectively inhibits the pain transduction ion channel TRPV1. This acute pain and initial inflammation is protective in nature. • 41. Marie Gullemine Benoist Essay Adoring one of the walls upstairs in the San Diego Museum of Art in the Balboa Park is a neoclassical masterpiece crafted by French born artist Marie Guillemine Benoist. This Oil painting, done on canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With the respectful dimensions of 100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging slightly above eye level it is easy to behold the bold and obvious detailing of the beautiful young women it portrays. However as visually stunning as this painting may be, the real beauty can be found in the history, controversy, and significance this work conceals in secret. Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was born in Paris France in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the world at the height of the neoclassical art movement it is no wonder this is where she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this style can be seen quite a bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is prominently known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by the classical art and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... Moral Law vs. Political Law in Sophocles’Antigone Essay One has the capability to determine from right and wrong and having the determination to stand up for what one believes in, no matter what the price is. In Sophocles Antigone, a written dramatic play, Sophocles portrays the theme that at times of one s life, it is necessary to follow moral law and ignore political law. In the play, a determined and courageous woman named Antigone is loyal to her beloved brother by granting him a proper burial and having to suffer the consequences for revolting. Throughout Antigone, several incidents occurred where the political law was of no importance to the individual. Conflicts between Antigone and Ismene and then with Creon and Antigone are examples of the theme. The theme also ties with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Finally on page 774, Antigone is still determined to give her loving brother, Polyneices, a proper burial when she says, ...as for me, I will bury the brother I love. In this incident, Antigone is headstrong about giving her brother what he deserves, despite the fact that Ismene told her to obey the law. Antigone is acting as if she were a rebellious teenager because she is contradicting political laws to perform acts that would seem moral to her for the sake of Polyneices. Like the discussion Antigone had with her sister, she will remain being headstrong to whoever confronts her. Later in the play, Antigone was captured for being caught in the act of burying her brother and is now conversing with King Creon about her decision made to revolt. On page 783, Creon is surprised when he says, ...you dared defy the law, to Antigone due to boasting her rebellious actions. In this demonstration, Antigone does not deny her guilt, but declares all of the information, provided by the guards, true. Antigone does not care for the consequences, which is death; she knew what she would create for herself when she chose to bury her brother. A second example of this is on page 784 when Antigone states, There is no guilt in reverence for the dead. By what Antigone said, she believes it should not be against the law to have reverence or lamentation towards the dead, especially if the deceased is part ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One particularly, goes unnoticed. One, which we cannot live without, and one which changed our lives forever. ELECTRICITY. Electricity exists in a metropolis city, to aircrafts in the air to every remote corner on our earth. During the 1800s, British scientist Michael Faraday discovered the fundamentals of generating electricity. Usually, several wind towers are built together in windy places to be called wind farms. Clipart Although this method tackles the problem as we can rely less on fossil fuels, it does have some limitations in the economic factor. Wind turbines are extremely costly to develop and the cost is recovered only decades later. The cost for a commercial scale wind turbine ranges from $1.2 million to $2.6 million, per MW of nameplate capacity installed. Most of the wind turbines today are 2 MW so roughly after installation, a single wind tower could cost around $3.5 million. This is a very large amount and a very high initial cost for a company to invest in. This is one factor why countries usually select fossil fuels. (Carla, eHow) Another factor is the social factor. Wind farms are extremely noisy and spoil the view of people living near them. Wind farms affect communities a lot and force communities to relocate. This also affects the life and welfare of human beings who live near them. It causes noise pollution as well as it is an eye sore. So therefore it may be a problem for some countries to develop communities in that area and a problem for local people who live nearby. (GCSE Bitesize) However, to every dark cloud has a silver lining. There are also benefits of wind power. In the ethical factor, it is a positive step. Using wind power instead of fossil fuels ...
