3. Introduction
A little history...
- WEMI, a TC to try to specify interoperable content
exchange
- The TC had some organizational problems, but also
interest shifted towards the notion of “context” around
content
- The idea of a new standard was born : “The ConteXt
Server” (aka CXS)
4. The main idea
Universal context tracking means...
...aggregating user context from different systems
...accessing this context from anywhere
...using different stimuli (events) to update the context
-> introducing the “ConteXt Server” (CXS)
5. Where we stand right now
- Specification draft already in progress
- Prototype open source reference implementation
already available : Project Unomi (pronounced “You
Know Me”)
- Weekly workshops for over a year now working on
moving things forward
- Ready to create new TC, we just need more people on-
board
7. Next Steps in OASIS Process
- Day 1 : 5 OASIS members (people) needed
to submit the proposal
- Day 5 - 19 : Call for comment (14 days)
starts within 5 days
- Day 23 : 4 days after call closes, Convener
meeting to review any comments and makes
changes
8. Next Steps in OASIS process
- Day 23 - 28 : Changes to the charter can be
made up to the 28th day after submission.
- Day 30 : Call for Participation, the formal
announcement to the world that the TC is
starting up.
- Day ? : First meeting of the TC (possibly
face to face)
9. Organizing the TC
● F2F kickoff meeting (April ?)
o Agree on progress plan
o Present and Discuss input to TC
● Split into Workgroups with designated tasks
o Frequent meetings for workgroups
o Use any tool you like (but be careful about
respecting OASIS IP rules)
● Regular formal TC meetings (3-4 week)
● Make a kick-ass personalization standard !
