- 2. As soon as you look at the page you are straight away attracted to the picture of Adele's face. With the picture being so dominant on the page its obvious to the reader that the article that is being written about her is one of the main articles featured in that months issue. The page number and article name/description are shown in the corner of the picture. Doing this means the reader will not get mixed up with other articles on the contents page and link them to the picture instead. The text with the picture is one of the biggest sized texts on the page. Compared to the text in the left column of the page it is a lot easier to read, see and with the red page number being so big it makes it much more noticeable and attractive. The spacing around the photo and around the column enables the photo to stand out even more from the rest of the page. The spacing between columns and photos enables the reader to read the text a lot easier and also emphasises the size of the picture. This use of spacing enables the page to look a lot less crowded and separates the page out to make it easier for the editor and reader to organise the page and find the articles they want to read.
- 3. The colour scheme throughout the magazine is basically the same. For example, on the contents page the banners “Q Contents” and “Q Review” use the same colours and are consistent with theme and style. Keeping the theme and style consistent means that readers will feel a flow throughout the magazine and won’t be confused with completely different colours on each page. With keeping a theme for the contents page all page numbers and titles just on the contents are in a deep red colour. With this change in colour for just this page it gives it a change in looks without losing the consistency of the whole magazine. Without changing some elements on magazines the pages would become dull and predictable and eventually lose readers due to its boring look. The articles on the left hand side of the page are presented in a simple way. With relatively little room to write a lot of text on the page, the contents numbers and names look rather spaced out and make it very easy to read.
