Masthead is big, bold
and takes up the whole
width of the page.
The cover story heading
is in the middle of the
page with big font size
bold style and has two
colours to make it
visible.
The cover lines are
smaller font with a black
background located
around the edge of the
page.
Competition section to
tell the reader there was
a competition previously.
Large image of the cover
artist with a bright
background.
Bar code and magazine
price.
3. Front Cover
Similar to the
professional magazine
the masthead is located
at the top with the full
width of the page. This
makes it easily visible
and because of the style
of the masthead it
makes it recognisable to
the audience.
The cover story is in the
middle of the page with
the first letter being big
and blue so it stands
out. This helps with
keeping the style of my
magazine throughout but
it also makes it
noticeable from a
distance.
The cover lines are
around the bottom of the
page with a faded black
background and blue
and white text. This
keeps the layout
organised while making
the content readable and
visible.
Telling the reader there is a
competition inside. This would
motivate the reader to buy the
magazine because they could win
something that is worth more than
the price of the magazine.
Large image of the cover artist.
Black and white instead of colour.
This allows for the image to be
noticed but removes any
distracting colours that may cause
the reader to get distracted by the
Bar code and magazine
price. This helps tell the
reader how much the
magazine is and allows
the shot to easily scan
the magazine.

Black background to
keep the house style and
make the text readable.
Text is
readable, organised into
categories and is white
to contrast the black

categories keep the
house style with the blue

organise the content and
also visually shows what

website. The date tells the user what
date this issue was released and
then the website is there so that you
always know what the magazine's
website is. The page number is to
just tell you what page you are on.
Bright images to add
colour to the contents
page. And draw peoples
eyes into the page
making them more
focused on the content.
6. Double Page
Top of the page includes
a section which tells the
reader which category
the article is in.
Article’s pull quote.
Heading of the article.
Big gallery of
images, takes up a
whole page and half the
second page.
Main Article content.
Page footer includes
page number, issue date
and the website for the
magazine.
7. Double Page Spread
Top of the page includes
a section which tells the
reader which category
the article is in. This
allows for the reader to
know which category this
article is in.
Two images instead of a whole
gallery full. Compared to the
professional magazine I
decided to only use two
images because having a
whole page full of around 6
images I thought was too
much and It adds more content
for the reader.
Article’s pull quote. I
make the quotes a light
blue and bigger than the
font because it adds a
good effect and shows
that it is a quote more
effectively.
Heading of the article.
This is in a big bold font
so it is readable and
because of its size it is
visually separated from
the rest of the content
and you can tell it is the
heading for the article.
Page footer includes
page number, issue date
and the website for the
magazine.
Main Article content.

the blue colour to
separate them but also
keep the house style
throughout the
