2. Content creation vs. curation
Content creation = creating and sharing
(promoting) your OWN content.
Content curation = sharing content created
by other people.
3. Curating your OWN content
Wait, wait, wait. You said content curation = other
people’s content.
You can curate your own content, too!
4. What “curation” really means
“to pull together, sift through, and select
for presentation, as music or website
content”
- Dictionary.com
5. Let’s talk about Evergreen Content
What does “evergreen” mean?
Evergreen content is content that is not time-
sensitive. It’s relevant today, tomorrow, and a
year from now.
8. Why would I want to share content
more than once?
● What happens if someone sees a post you have
already posted? (Nothing!)
● YOU see everything you post, but no one else
does!
● If a posts gets lots of engagement and shares,
what will happen the next time you post it?
9. YOUR Evergreen content
Your existing content
● Blog posts that will never go stale
● Podcasts or non-time-sensitive webinars
● Promotions and funnels to opt-ins, sales pages,
etc.
● Links to your social media accounts
10. Organizing evergreen content
Don’t let it go to waste!
● Use a tool like Edgar to save it in a library
● Create a spreadsheet of your updates
12. Introducing OPC
OPC = Other People’s Content
● Links
● Quotes
● Podcasts
● Videos
Anything written or created by
someone other than you/your
team and published somewhere
other than your site.
13. Ways to curate OPC
● Share stuff from sites you already read/follow
● Share your favorite quotes, images, or words of
wisdom
● Stalk your competitors (in a non-creepy way)
○ What’s popular in your industry and network?
14. How do you find what’s popular?
● Hashtag searches
● Create and subscribe
to Twitter lists
● Follow FB pages you
think are killin’ it
15. How do you find what’s popular?
● Use Pages to Watch on FB
