With almost one billion monthly active users, Instagram is officially the second most popular social network behind Facebook (excluding YouTube).
Join MeetEdgar and get excited for our newest feature we are building: INSTAGRAM!
We will chat about how you can, in fact, use Instagram to grow your traffic – and not just your follower count and how to leverage Instagram to bring in more visitors to your top-performing content without spending your budget on advertising.
2. Why you should be on Instagram:
With almost one billion
monthly active users,
Instagram is officially the
second most popular social
network behind Facebook
You can use Instagram to
grow your traffic – and not
just your follower count.
5. People buy, know, like and trust
people over brands
Pulling back the curtain
and getting a little
lighthearted with the
people behind your
brand can go a long
way when you’re
forging emotional
connections with your
followers!
6. Have a bunch of followers on your personal account, but
trying to start a fresh new Instagram account for your
brand? Link up that newer account with an @-tag, and
your personal followers can click on over and give you a
follow on your brand, too!
When sharing a photo or video to your story, you can mention someone:
1. Tap camera in the top left of your screen or swipe right from anywhere in Feed
2. Take a photo or video, then tap “Aa”
3. Type @ followed immediately by their username, then select the person you'd like to
mention
When you mention someone in your story, their username will appear in your story with an
underline. Anyone who can see your story can tap it to go to their profile.
7. Algorithm
1. Interest: How much Instagram predicts you’ll care about a post, with higher ranking for what
matters to you, determined by past behavior on similar content and potentially machine vision
analyzing the actual content of the post.
2. Recency: How recently the post was shared, with prioritization for timely posts over weeks-old
ones.
3. Relationship: How close you are to the person who shared it, with higher ranking for people
you’ve interacted with a lot in the past on Instagram, such as by commenting on their posts or
being tagged together in photos.
Search hashtags and like and comment on people’s profiles (consider your own
branded hashtag mixed with common ones for discoverability)
Create real connections
DM: It’s about relationships, do not sell on your first outreach!
8. Research big companies in your industry
They likely have done a TON of research
and spent a ton of marketing money
themselves on what works for their
audience
Pay attention to the content that gets the
most engagement and think how you can
offer value to your audience in a similar
way
