SiriusCon2016 - Document Generation with M2DocObeo
Not everyone uses modeling tools and the awesome work one can do with these tools must be conveyed to the outside world, for instance, in the form of documents.
The M2Doc technology enables the generation of Office Open XML documents from Ecore models and Sirius representations.
The overall approach M2Doc implements consists in creating templates in the OOX format where static text authoring benefit from the WYSIWYG capabilities of the usual tools (e.g. Microsoft Word, Libre Office, Open Office). Dynamic parts are inserted using a dedicated vocabulary of OOX fields code. Fields are mainly used to insert page numbers, references, etc. M2Doc makes use them to describe documentation generation directives. This allows a total separation between the document and the M2Doc directives.
The template language makes an extensive use of the Acceleo Query Language which provides a full fledged, extensible model query language and engine.
In this talk, I will present the M2Doc technology and talk about the way it is integrated with Sirius.
Transformative Mobile Solutions - SharePoint and Nintex Case StudyJoel Oleson
SharePoint definitely has gaps in Forms and Workflow. In this case study we evaluate a business process automation solution using Nintex forms, Nintex workflow and Nintex mobile
This document discusses generating documents in an office setting from templates. It outlines selecting a document type from a template menu, reviewing applicable fields and metadata for that document, and selecting structure, text, or building blocks. Once all required information is provided, the document can be generated as a final result or starting point for further editing and collaboration.
The document contains a safe harbor statement for Salesforce.com noting that any forward-looking statements could differ from actual results due to risks and uncertainties. It lists various risks including those related to new products/services, operating losses, fluctuations in operating results, interruptions in web hosting, security breaches, litigation outcomes, acquisitions, immature markets, limited operating history, managing growth, new releases, and selling to larger enterprises. The statement says customers should make purchase decisions based on currently available features.
This presentation is based on the Data model of Salesforce platform. I prepared this presentation for the DEV 401 certification discussion at Sabre Technologies.
- Multi-tenancy allows cloud computing platforms like Salesforce to efficiently utilize server capacity, storage, and labor by hosting multiple customers on the same infrastructure (shared stack model), avoiding wasted resources of the single-tenant model.
- Salesforce's metadata-driven architecture enables seamless upgrades where customizations and integrations are automatically upgraded to the latest version without hassle for the customer.

Building An AWS Migration Environment and Configuring the Web ServicesExecutive summary
Compute, databases, storage, analytics, mobile, networking, developer tools, management tools, IoT, security, as well as corporate applications are all available through Amazon Web Services (Wang et al., 2017). These services enable BallotOnline to move more quickly, save money on IT, and grow. Web and mobile apps, game development, data processing and warehousing, storage, archiving, and many more workloads are all powered by AWS, which is trusted by the world's largest companies and the hottest start-ups.
The relational database transfer is supposed to be met with skepticism by the web development team. I have a task to create a proof-of-concept application to test it. During the proof of concept, I have to learn how to use the AWS Management Console to start, stop, and configure Amazon EC2 instances and Amazon RDS DB Instances, store and retrieve Amazon S3 items, and set up elastic load balancers (Zulu et al., 2018). Also, I might learn a lot about AWS and realized that they had complete control over the environment, which am sure will make me feel much more secure about taking the next step.
The standard “mysqlimport” tool is used to migrate relational database files to Amazon RDS instances. I will put up a DB Instance in a single Availability Zone for the test environment, and a multi-AZ deployment for the production environment to enhance availability (Cao et al., 2017). My main goal is to properly test and migrate all data to a database instance, as well as get performance measurements using Amazon CloudWatch and define backup retention settings. I have also to construct migration scripts to automate the process and raise awareness inside the company by hosting a "brownbag" session.Lab results (4–8 pages)

Summary of the Lab
Before beginning this lab, I ensured that the VPC and EC2 instances are correctly configured. In addition, I checked that the security groups for the instances made allow http which is on port 80. Later I installed the Apache web server on every instance filling respective DNS names (Joshi & Shah, 2019).
Incoming traffic is distributed over many targets in one or more Availability Zones, such as EC2 instances, containers, and IP addresses, using Elastic Load Balancing. It monitors the health of the targets it has recorded and only delivers traffic to those who are in excellent form. One can scale the load balancer as the incoming traffic varies using Elastic Load Balancing. It can automatically scale to the vast majority of workloads. The Load bal ...

Whitepaper - Choosing the right cloud provider for your businessRick Blaisdell
As cloud computing becomes an increasingly important part of any IT organization’s delivery model, assessing and selecting the right cloud provider also becomes one of the most strategic decisions that business leaders undertake. The accumulation of the necessary data to base cloud buying decisions is often achieved in production, or reproduction models mainly as paid customer engagements or trial engagements – which often occurs AFTER the major decisions have been made in the sales process.
This white paper will deliver data that provides valuable information based on real compute scenarios to assist buyers of cloud services in understanding how their workloads might perform and what costs are associated with those environments across multiple cloud computing platforms BEFORE they invest in the selection of a cloud computing provider.
Cloud computing provides businesses significant benefits such as potential cost savings, ease of sharing data and applications, automatic backups, and improved efficiencies. It allows scalable access to computing resources and storage over the internet. While security and reliability issues exist if providers experience outages, many businesses can benefit from cloud computing. Large multinational corporations and internet companies dealing with large amounts of data and users around the world are most likely to benefit from the scalability and accessibility of cloud resources. Both Amazon and subscribers must consider concepts like capacity planning, scalability, and total cost of ownership when using cloud computing services.

Conga case study: Application visibility in AWS with ExtraHop
1. CHALLENGE
Conga is growing rapidly with more than 125,000 Salesforce users across 35
countries. Conga applications run in Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the company
wanted more visibility into their application delivery chain and greater ability to monitor
and manage performance in the cloud, especially with issues involving Active Directory,
DNS, and load balancing.
SOLUTION
Conga turned to ExtraHop to analyze all of its real-time wire data—all application
communications including full bi-directional transaction payloads—something that
no other management or monitoring tool had been able to offer, especially for a
predominately AWS environment.
“I spoke with over a dozen monitoring companies at Interop,” says Christopher Murdock,
Systems Engineer at Conga. “But only ExtraHop didn’t turn me away when I said we’re
primarily on AWS. They said, ‘Not a problem at all, we have an appliance out there, go
ahead and fire up a free version for yourself.’”
The Conga team went on to purchase the ExtraHop platform to diagnose internal
problems, measure the impact of Salesforce latency, and create a live geomap that
shows merges and the associated geographic locale in near real time.
CUSTOMER CASE STUDY: CONGA
BENEFITS
• Proactive troubleshooting for
improved user experiences
• Better visibility into application
activity in AWS
• Understanding of real-time
application usage
• More cost-effective management
of AWS resources across Regions
and Availability Zones
“ExtraHop has fundamentally changed the way that we
monitor and manage our business.”
— Brad Blake, Director of IT, Conga
Conga Lines Up Improved AWS
Visibility with ExtraHop
COMPANY PROFILE
Conga is a leading Salesforce application
partner. Conga customers enhance their
Salesforce deployments with document
generation, presentation, and reporting apps.
The company’s flagship app, Conga Composer,
has been in the Top 10 Salesforce add-ons for
seven years in a row.
CHALLENGE
To keep up with rapid growth, Conga
migrated its applications to AWS and wanted
to better understand their utilization of
AWS resources.
SOLUTION
ExtraHop gave Conga deeper visibility into its
wire data, equipping them to more quickly
diagnose problems and better manage
AWS resources.
ExtraHop enables Conga
to monitor EC2 load
across Regions and
Availability Zones in
real time, then drill in to
see why there is a delta
in the traffic or load
between Regions.
2. Fewer“Unknown Unknowns”
Before ExtraHop, the Conga team lacked insight into how
its applications were behaving in AWS. Now, they can see
the volume of traffic in Regions and Availability Zones and
understand when and why auto-scaling events occur.
“ExtraHop has given us visibility that’s led to eye-opening
moments,” says Brad Blake, Director of IT at Conga. “Even
during the ExtraHop demo with our testing environment, we
happened to notice an incorrect configuration that wouldn’t
have affected customers but could have caused us development
headaches. Being able to pinpoint that cause so quickly really
sold us on the value—and that alone justified our investment.”
Deeper, More Meaningful Data
The Conga application is very modern in its use of asynchronous
connections, and many built-in monitoring tools do not provide
the level of detailed visibility needed to troubleshoot and tune the
application.
“When I saw ExtraHop’s ability to create custom triggers with
JavaScript, that sold me—especially combined with custom
metrics,” says Rodger McIntosh, Manager of Product Development
at Conga. “When we left the ExtraHop demo, I couldn’t stop talking
about the different things I wanted to do with it.”

TRACKING MERGE REQUESTS
WITH WIRE DATA
Conga applications merge data
from Salesforce. Using ExtraHop,
Conga can extract key performance
information and display the resulting
application metrics in real time.
This information enables Conga to
see which Conga server in AWS and
Salesforce pod is associated with an
error, for example.
Because of the asynchronous and
distributed nature of the application,
there was no practical way to gain
this critical insight prior to deploying
ExtraHop.
Data Point 1:
Payload ID, which is
displayed in the ExtraHop
user interface.
Data Point 2:
Operation IDs for particular
sessions so that merge
requests can be monitored
by instance and region.
Data Point 3:
Merge requests status to
identify cancelled or
exceptions by Salesforce pod.
Data Point 4:
Salesforce request count,
process time, and bytes
sent/received to correlate
Salesforce and Conga
server performance.
3. Conga displays ExtraHop dashboards in their office so that they can continuously monitor critical metrics and identify anomalies.
BENEFITS
ExtraHop has helped Conga reduce business risk, improve
mean-time-to-resolution, proactively address service
degradation, and optimize AWS resources for greater efficiency
and lower costs.
Real-Time Insights for Better Customer Experiences
Equipped with insight from their wire data, Conga is now
more proactive in responding to issues. They have set email
alerts based on performance thresholds, and have also set
up video screens throughout the office that display live data
from ExtraHop, with custom metrics such as “Merges by
Device.” Business analysts—representatives who work closely
with customers to help them use Conga applications—now
know when a performance slowdown is due to Salesforce and
proactively notify customers about the issue.
“When we come into the office, one of the first things we do
now is turn on the displays with the ExtraHop dashboards,” says
Blake. “We are always watching them to see user experience,
activity levels, and application behavior in AWS. ExtraHop has
fundamentally changed the way that we monitor and manage
our business.”
More Cost-Effective AWS Management
An unnoticed increase in errors can lead to unnecessary—and
costly—automatic provisioning of new AWS compute resources.
“That was our first win with ExtraHop,” says McIntosh. “I walked
around the corner and saw this huge spike in requests on our
screen. We found and were able to solve the problem before it
could cause an auto-scale event.”
FastTime-to-Value
Conga was able to quickly realize value from ExtraHop due to an
easy installation and intuitive interface.
“ExtraHop was very simple to set up and install,” says Murdock.
“Especially the ease of configuration, installing the packet
forwarders, and the fact that ExtraHop has an AWS image out
on the Marketplace—so all I had to do was fire it up, and it did
everything.”
“The interface is clean, modern, and supports drag-and-drop
actions. The built-in HTML 5 elements make it very easy to
create visualizations of our wire data. I’ve used tools such as
Splunk and Nagios, and ExtraHop is worlds apart in terms of
how quickly you can get up to speed, how quickly you can get
useful data out of your environment.”
4. ABOUT EXTRAHOP NETWORKS
ExtraHop is the global leader in real-time wire data analytics. The ExtraHop platform
analyzes all L2-L7 communications, including full bidirectional transactional payloads.
This provides the correlated, cross-tier visibility essential for today’s complex and
dynamic IT environments. The ExtraHop platform scales up to 40 Gbps and deploys
