The Concrete Industry = Nine Production Sectors
 Concrete Industry Strategy In July 2008, following 18 months of extensive stakeholder consultation, companies and trade associations in the industry committed to an over-arching strategy and to taking a leading role in sustainable construction.
Concrete Industry Vision“By 2012, the UK concrete industries will be recognised as leaders in sustainable construction, taking a dynamic role in delivering a sustainable built environment in a manner that is profitable, socially responsible and functions within environmental limits”.

Annual performance reporting 1st report (2007 performance data) published in 2009  Set the scene for the industry strategy and commitments
 Performance Indicators were set 2nd report (2008 performance data) published in 2010 Release of 2012 performance targets2012 Key TargetsThe 3rd report will include 16 performance indicators and 13 targets, including: Increase sites covered by certified EMS to 85%
 Reduce waste to landfill by 15% (in line with DEFRA targets)
 Reduce CO2 by 17% from a 1990 baseline (in line with Climate Change Agreements)
 Increase waste derived alternative fuel use from 17.3 % to 21%Areas we need to focus on: CO2 transport – need to agree framework for data collection
