Concrete blocks are manufactured by mixing gravel, sand, cement and sometimes fly ash, molding the mixture into blocks, and allowing them to cure. Concrete blocks are categorized by their materials as polyblock, mortar block, or cinder blocks, or by their design as either hollow or solid blocks, with examples of hollow blocks including stretcher, pillar, lintel, jamb, column, corner, split face, bullnose, and partition blocks.
