The War Of The Concentration Camp And Extermination Camp...
In November of 1944, John McCloy, the United States Assistant Secretary of War, responded by letter
to John Pehle, United States Executive Director of the War Refugee Board, in opposition and briefly
supported as to why the War Department of the United States was against and why it would not go
through with the bombing operation of the concentration camp and extermination camp at Auschwitz
Birkenau. In the brief McCloy laid out five specific reasons as to why the department would not be
carried out the military plan at that point in time during the war. The five reasons that made up
McCloy s argument were: first, Positive destruction of these camps would necessitate precision
bombing, employing heavy or medium bombardment, or attack by low flying or dive bombing
aircraft, preferably the latter. Second, the target is beyond the maximum range of medium
bombardment, dive bombers and fighter bombers located in United Kingdom, France or Italy. Third,
use of heavy bombardment from United Kingdom bases would necessitate a hazardous round trip
flight unescorted of approximately 2,000 miles over enemy territory. Fourth, At the present critical
stage of the war in Europe, our strategic air forces are engaged in the destruction of industrial target
systems vital to the dwindling war potential of the enemy, from which they should not be diverted.
The positive solution to this problem is the earliest possible victory over Germany, to which end we
should exert our entire means. Fifth,

Design And The Technologies Used
In depth defense network design.
 Design a defense in depth network. Research the latest technology such as firewalls, IDS, IPS,
VPN, Virus Protection, and Malware Protection. Describe your design and the technologies used.
Defend your design and provide a logical diagram of the system.
When it comes to network defense, there is never a safe zone where a network is prone to attacks,
which is why it is always a good idea to make use of the in depth strategic defense. This is a
coordinated use of multiple security countermeasures to protect the integrity of the information assets
in an enterprise. This type of defense makes it difficult for an enemy to get into, because of its
complex and multilayered defense system (Rouse, 2007). Defense in depth minimizes the probability
that the efforts of malicious hackers will succeed. A well designed strategy of this kind can also help
system administrators and security personnel identify people who attempt to compromise a computer,
server, proprietary network. Some of the things that make up a defense in depth are antivirus software,
firewalls, anti spyware, strong passwords, intrusion detecttion, biometrics and much more (Rouse,
2007).
The first thing that comes to mind in designing an in depth defense network is access control and
authentications. Which means that we will be dealing with firewalls, which will be used to protect the
servers, segments and subnets. This first step will establish an industrial demilitarization zone,

Dai Jo Bo s Plagued With Righteousness
Serve, the fourth album by London based quintet WorldService Project, is composed of eight energetic
tracks whose musical irreverence derives from a blend of impactful punk rock, stimulating funk,
authoritative heavy metal, and light jazz.
Plagued With Righteousness links passages that can go from acutely boisterous to soaringly
atmospheric. The piece is a confluence of funk groove a la Morphine and classic heavy metal with an
easy melodicism, more in the line of Scorpions than Judas Priest. While the trombonist spreads
energizing lines, keyboardist Dave Morecroft, the band s principal composer, solos like if he had a
guitar in his hands.
Sometimes disruptive, sometimes ultra compact, Dai Jo Bo is a spunky punk exercise punctuated by a

The Natural And Physical Inequality
Unavoidably, every person enters the world with a unique set of talents, dispositions and attributes
which lead him or her to perform better or worse than another person in certain realms. Rousseau calls
this natural or physical inequality: one may be stronger, quicker or smarter than another, and as such
able to complete more tasks than another. Rousseau argues that none of this matters in the state of
nature because, similar to animals, mankind concerns itself with self preservation. Family bonds, or
any other sort of organization of a group of people, do not exist in this state. The complete self
sufficiency of each person means nobody needs to exercise control or domination of any sort over any
other person to survive or enjoy a more luxurious lifestyle. I see him satisfying his hunger under an
oak tree, quenching his thirst at the first stream, finding his bed at the foot of the same tree that
supplied his meal; and thus all his needs are satisfied (Rousseau 47). Perhaps one more adept at
finding food, whether by speed or size, will more easily satisfy his hunger and have more time to rest
at the foot of the tree or to enjoy relations with those passing by. While this does provide an
advantage, every person effectively lives the same sort of life, free of dominion of any sort. Similarly,
Smith writes that talents of men differ on the basis of the realm they most naturally aspire to. While
one man may inevitably be stronger than a second, the same second may

Women’s Power to Change in No Name Woman, Maxine Hong...
Throughout the years poverty has played an important role in changing traditions and cultures.
Poverty has changed the role of women and their ways of thinking. In No Name Woman , Maxine
Hong Kingston showed an example of how poverty changed the responsibilities of women in a small
village in China. According to the narrator s mother, the women in this Chinese village, during the
twentieth century, were to get married for one night and then all the men leave to America, to work
there and send money home. The need for money gave women no choice but to obey. They did not
choose whether they want their men to leave them or not. They were not asked if they wanted to get
married or not. Because women could not go through the pain of hunger, ... Show more content on

She did not want her child to turn out and be like her family or the villagers. If the child was a boy, he
might have turned as every other man in the village and if the child was a girl, she might have had to
face the consequences of her mother s problems. No Name Woman killed her child because she was
worried that the child might have to face the same destiny as her She had taken the child with her into
wastes (32). She decided that the best thing for the child is to die with her, instead of living and facing
what the mother could not go through. No Name Woman s fear affected her decisions and destroyed
her life. No Name Woman had a duty towards her family and child, but unfortunately she ran away
from it. No Name Woman was an irresponsible person, who avoided defending her child and herself.
According to the narrator, No Name Woman was the only child left in her family after all her brothers
and her father traveled to America, She was the only daughter; her four brothers went with her father,
husband, and uncles out on the road and for some years became the western men (27). Since she was
the only child left, she a duty towards her mother. She had to stay by her mother s side, help her, and

Genetic Testing And Identification Of Dna Extraction
Introduction.
Extracting DNA from available cells is a widely used practice with applications such as forensics,
genetic testing and victim identification to name a few. DNA extractions have been widely practiced
for decades. This report simply summarises our results comparing two methods.
The tests compared the effectiveness of the often cited salting out method based on Sunnucks and
Hales (1996) method of DNA extraction from aphids, with a science at home style method of DNA
extraction according to the NHGRI s video how to extract DNA from strawberries (2010)
This made use of household detergent as a surfactant to allow the DNA out of the cell and its contents.
This method is cheaper to run, not involving costlier laboratory chemicals like Proteinase K. (Ciulla,
Sklar and Hauser, 1988, page 488)
Each requires high precision to differentiate between samples from different individuals, and it is ideal
to produce accurate results from a small sample. The sample must consist only of DNA for gel
electrophoresis to give proper results, containing no protein or lipid impurities.
The samples must be pure to be comparable, something that the YouTube method cannot offer with
reliability due to not using Proteinase K, which was applied early in the salting out method to denature
proteins for later removal.
The YouTube method is predicted to obtain DNA, but not with the same consistency or accuracy as
the salting out method, due to the lack of time and

Summary Of Father And Son Relationships In Henry IV Part 1
While almost any man can father a child, there is so much more importance of the father figure in a
child s lifetime. Fathers that are willing to be actively involved have a great importance in their sons
lives. They are able to add to their sons knowledge of manhood. Shakespeare made that certain in his
writing Henry IV, Part 1 . This play goes into depth of father son relationships between two characters;
Hotspur and Prince Hal. These two characters both posed fathers that had the capability of affecting
their life choices and not always for the right reasons. The two men had two father figures to look up
to. Falstaff, was an old drunk who revolved his life around partying and stealing. Henry IV believed
that Prince Hal was simply sent to him as a punishment. The two together both made Prince Hal the
man he was. Hotspur had the two conniving father figures; Thomas and Henry Percy. Their overall
plan was just to make Hotspur s life and living hell. Father and son relationships have the capability to
influence one s relationships with others and the choices made in their futures and that is exactly what
these men did. Henry IV Part one tells a story about Prince Hal, a heir to the british throne and his
evolution from wild child to an independent leader. However, Prince Hal stated this whole wild child
movement was just for show. He believes that acting like an immature young adult and then having a
big change will make the people enjoy his as a leader even more.

Nowadays, College students have been recognized at risk for the development of anxiety. According
to nursing (2006), anxiety is natural reactions to threatening situations. Your body has a fight or flight
reaction your heart races, you breathe faster, you sweat, and your stomach and head may ache .
Therefore, UWS College has provided students with many useful services such as counselling service,
disability service, international student service, workshops and programs.
Inam, Saqib and Alam (2003) believed that students experience anxiety and depression because of
many reasons. Firstly, this is because the high volume of techniques to be absorbed and the
requirement of academic performance. For example, the negative impacts of stress on medical
students contain the weakness of functioning in laboratory performance and clinical exercise, stress
induced disorders and reducing performance. To solve this problem, learners should seek the advice of
school counsellors. A research indicated that students who have been panic from the examination
failure can manage pressure by improving their feelings of self control. They can enhance those skills
by having appropriate learning strategies, suitable self instructions as well as relaxation time. In this

Musk conceptualized a project called Mars Oasis, in 2001, in which he would land a miniature
experimental greenhouse on Mars that contained seeds and dehydrating gel, after hydrating the gel the
seeds would grow on Martian soil (McKnight, 2001). The project was to regain a dwindling public
interest in space exploration and increase the budget of NASA. Musk quickly realized that the expense
of getting to Mars was far greater than he expected and that there would need to be a breakthrough in
rocket technology. Musk traveled the world meeting with different rocket builders and space engineers
in hopes of finding the right rocket builder and the right price to make his project a reality but did not
find a suitable candidate. Musk had the idea of creating a company that could build the rockets that he
needed at a fraction of the cost. Musk saw opportunity where others saw dead ends. He hired
renowned rockets engineers and opened a facility in El Segundo, California, called SpaceX. Musk
decided SpaceX s first rocket would be named Falcon 1, a nod to Star Wars Millennium Falcon
(Vance, 2015). A few of SpaceX s achievements include: the first privately funded, liquid fueled
rocket (Falcon 1) to reach orbit (28 September 2008), the first privately funded company to
successfully launch (Falcon 9) orbit and recover a spacecraft (9 December 2010), the first private
company to send a spacecraft 9Dragon) to the International Space Station (25 May 2012) and the first
private company to send a satellite into geosynchronous orbit. In 2011, Musk stated that he hopes to
send humans to Mars surface within 10 20 years and believes that by 2035 at the latest, there will be

Censorship In Sports Organizations
First and foremost, these sports organizations have found sponsorship necessary as a means of
offsetting rising costs and expanding promotional opportunities (Irwin, Sutton, McCarthy, 2008,
p.146). When it pertains to deciding what sponsors will go where there is one large factor to consider.
Is the sponsorship the right match for the demographic of the community? Would you want your
organization to partner with a company that had no established business in the area? Would that make
much sense for the company trying to establish a sponsorship either? Years ago, sponsorships did not
have as much logic behind them, however, today to be determined successful, they need to pay
dividends for both companies. According to Irwin, Sutton, McCarthy,

Apprenticeship In Canada
Apprenticeship was a common practice in the eighteenth century in Europe as well as in the United
States, however, the reasons and the process for this practice varied between the two regions.
Apprenticeship was used in the United States to keep the poverty rate low, while it was a way to learn
a trade in Europe, which is the purpose Canada seemed to have adopted as well in Montreal. Bernard
Elbaum s paper Why Apprenticeship Persisted in Britain But Not in the United States gives reasons
for the existence of apprenticeship in Britain while its rapid decrease in the United States in the
nineteenth century. This paper investigates the effects of literacy on average pay of the worker per
year per person in Montreal. It is in comparison to John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason this seems true is because apprenticeship in Canada worked most like in Britain, where the
boys were sent to live with the master to learn their trade and to become craftsmen. It was not a policy
to decrease poverty in the region as was in Boston. To test the hypothesis, the variables of age,
average pay per year in nominal and real terms, and dummy variables literacy of workers and end
payment were used. For this study, the ages have been grouped into five categories: less than twelve
years old, ages between twelve to fifteen, ages between fifteen to eighteen, ages between eighteen to
twenty one, and ages greater than twenty one. The category ages greater than twenty one does create
outliers in the analysis as there are fewer observations for this category than the rest. The first test
shows the proportion of workers who can sign their name as opposed to those who cannot. From the
overall population, only 1% of population who is under 12 years of age can sign their name, 13% of
population who is between 12 to 15 years of age, 20% of population who is between 15 to 18 years of
age, 3% of population who is between 18 to 21 years of age, almost no one over the age of 21 years
can sign their names, and collectively 63% of the overall population cannot sign their names. One
caveat for the next two tests is that it also considers the freedom dues paid to those workers who
cannot sign their names. The second test shows whether the literacy of a worker affects their end
payment. The graph shows that regardless of whether the children can sign, they get end payment until
the age of 15. After the age of 15, however, the number of end payments decrease even though the
number of workers who can sign increases. This is not consistent with the hypothesis. A reason for this
could be an

Healthcare Fraud and Abuse
Running head: HEALTHCARE FRAUD AND ABUSE
Healthcare Fraud and Abuse
Abstract
Rising costs of healthcare is a valid concern for many households in America. A factor in the cost of
healthcare insurance is fraud. Fraud is often very difficult to detect. The magnitude of healthcare fraud
is unknown. Initial reimbursement and payment and billing timeframe of 90 days allows for fast
payment of services, however, many times before there is an indication of fraudulent billing the
company has closed up and moved on. Fraud in American healthcare, costs American s millions
perhaps even billions of dollars annually. Without doubt, behind every act of fraud lies a lapse in

Abuse takes such forms as, but is not limited to: Over utilization of medical and health care services;
claims for services that are not reasonable and necessary, or if deemed medically necessary, not to the
extent rendered or billed; breaches of the assignment agreement which result in beneficiaries being
billed for amounts disallowed by the carrier on the basis that such charges exceeded the Medicare Fee
Schedule; exceeding the Limiting Charge for non participating providers; violations of the Medicare
Participating Agreements by physicians, suppliers or practitioners. Many other forms of abuse exist
and some, including those described above, are ultimately found to be fraudulent. When abuse is
committed, the government can: Recover payment made in error; invoke civil monetary penalties
congruent to the degree of abuse; suspend the provider from the Federal Healthcare Programs.(NHIC

In the third episode of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk s anthology drama American Horror Story:
Murder House (henceforth AHS: Murder House), Violet Harmon, the daughter of Ben and Vivien
Harmon (the owners of the titular house) begins a relationship with Tate Langdon. It is only in the
sixth episode that she finds out that Tate is not in fact alive: he was shot and killed in 1994 by police
following his murder of 15 students at his high school. Up until then, and even afterwards, Violet and

A narratively complex show thus rejects the episodic convention of a return to the original status quo
at the end of each episode, as one might see in an episode of Friends. Problems are often left
unresolved to be expanded upon in future episodes. Narrative complexity is thus cumulative and
unconventional: it is a combination of episodic closure and serial accumulation, and employs new and
engaging narratives and forms of storytelling (Jackson). Of the many ways to achieve narrative
complexity, Mittell discusses operational aesthetic, which can best be described as something similar
to special effects. Operational aesthetic is augmented in certain moments within a narratively complex
program. That being said, complex television employs something called the narrative special effect,
which is when a program makes use of certain storytelling tools, to engage the viewer (Mittell 43). It
is by way of the narrative special effect that the media makers attempt to foster engagement in
audiences by planting clues, and this can be achieved through, for example, shifts in perspective or
time, dreams or fantasy sequences, and the absence of clear storytelling cues. The result is that
audiences focus and speculate on form and structure in addition to content (Jackson). As a narratively
complex program, AHS: Murder House makes use of narrative special effects to drive its storyline and
to develop its characters. Episodes start in different time periods, and characters are often

Comparing Mccandless, Emerson, And Henry David Thoreau
Self reliance is the freedom of being independent. One only relies on oneself and doesn t look for help
or for anyone to save them. One is perfectly content with being solely reliant. Three people who
believed greatly in self reliance were Chris McCandless, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Henry David
Thoreau. They had many different beliefs and along with acting out in civil disobedience, acting in
nonconformity, thinking nature was most important, and being a transcendentalist, they was also self
reliant. McCandless, Emerson, and Thoreau were all people who believed strongly in self reliance.
One belief all three writers had is self reliance. In the nonfiction book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer,
the author talks about how McCandless was very independent

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Chronic Bronchitis Essay
1. What clinical findings correlate with M.K. s chronic bronchitis? What type of treatment and
recommendations would be appropriate for M.K. s chronic bronchitis?
Chronic bronchitis is caused by inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes. These tubes carry
oxygen to and from the alveoli of the lungs.
Clinical findings that correlate with M.K. s chronic bronchitis include:
22 plus years of smoking smoking has been directly linked as one of the number one causes of
Chronic bronchitis/COPD.
Chronic cough with sputum especially in the mornings. A Chronic cough is often one of the initial
symptoms of COPD. It is long term, and can increase in severity as the disease progresses. Sputum or
mucus is often produced in the cough of a COPD patient.
Light headedness, distended neck veins and peripheral edema The light headedness, distended neck
veins and peripheral edema could all be caused by pulmonary hypertension. COPD can be a cause of
pulmonary hypertension. The rise in blood pressure in your lungs can be caused by changes in the
cells that line the walls of your pulmonary arteries causing them to become stiff and thickened. The
arteries can also become inflamed and tight. Smoking can be a major contributor to the damage of
these vessels. These changes can reduce or block blood flow through these vessels, thus raising the
pressure. The reduced blood flow through the lungs puts a strain on the right side of the heart. The

Themes Of Power, Deceit, Racial Discrimination, Fate, And...
The Man in the High Castle tells the story of a parallel world, one in which the Japanese and the
Germans won the war, and the world now operates in their favor. The story line revolves around a
book that is written by a man who only writes what the Ching says to. One book in particular is
forbidden to many, and it is because the contents tell the story of what really happened , how we got to
the world we live in today. Philip K Dick wraps this intriguing story around themes of power, deceit,
racial discrimination, fate, and gender norms of the 1950 s and 60 s. The tone for power was set very
early in the novel. A substitute, then. Your recommendation, Mr. Childan? Tagomi deliberately
mispronounced the name; insult within the code that made Childan s ears burn. Place pulled, the
dreadful mortification of their situation. Robert Childan s aspirations and fears and torments rose up
and exposed themselves, swamped him, stopping his tongue. He stammered, his hand sticky on the

on Mr. Tagomi s part, or you could view it from the aspect of blatant, yet sidle, disrespect masked in
the disguise of an honest mistake. Mr. Tagomi knew this would get underneath Mr. Childan s skin
based upon his standards for respect and public manners. From the very beginning Mr. Tagomi played
into the struggle for power expressed throughout The Man in the High Castle . The story is

Pulp Fiction Film Techniques
Editing Time and Space in Movie Making
Editing Time and Space in Movie Making
Citizen Kane (1941)
The manipulation of time and space in the film of citizen cane is different from that of Pulp Fiction in
that it considers formal elements of film technique such as Mise en scene where it essentially involves
a costume, setting and makeup staging and lighting (Belton, 46). The very important scene that
happens in front of the camera appears in the final shot of the film. The setting function of the film has
highlighted the key aspect of Kane s life compared to Pulp Fiction that is seen to intersect in many
venues (Belton, 37).
Cinematography has been used in the process of capturing the moving images and the manipulation of
such images (Belton, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the editor has been able to create something in the movie that cannot be filmed by the
use of various techniques in order to show the change of time visibly. These techniques give the editor
a chance to give a different effect and be able to create something totally different to the film. The use
of technique shows people an object change or the environment of an object change of a certain period
of time such as a person acting in the film such as getting older or younger (Belton, 57).
The film of Pulp Fiction is a good example of manipulation of time and space. Quentin Tarantino
directed an iconic film that was filled with humor and violence as well as a nonlinear storyline. The art
of the techniques is used to connect the interconnecting storylines of the mobster, fringe players, the
mysterious briefcase and the small criminals (Belton, 46). This has presented the film in a
chronological manner as a result of its unconventional structure, the extensive used of homage and the
pictures of self reflexity. The holdup stage dinner starts the film in where the technique of time and
space is used in order to pick up the story of Jules, Vincent, and Butch (Belton,

Essay on Minitrucks and their effect on society
Mini Trucking and its Effect on Society
The vehicle code handbook states that any modification done to a vehicle to alter it from its original
state violates the law. That single sentence has created more problems for custom vehicle owners than
can be imagined. Yet, at the same time, it has generated massive amounts of money for the state of
California. Modifying one s vehicle sets it apart from others and makes a statement about the owner s
individuality. Over the past decade, hacking up a vehicle, putting a trick paint job on it, and
developing an out of control sound system has evolved into a sport, not just a hobby. As with
everything, though, there is always someone or something to try and put a stop ... Show more content

There are councils for car and truck clubs so the sport stays organized. Police are hired to keep these
vehicles off of the road. When a cop pulls a mini truck over, it s usually because of it being too low, or
having the stereo system up to loud. But when looking over the vehicle a dozen other violations
become apparent. A few of these violations are: no door handles, no windshield wipers, a tinted
windshield, frame modifications, or a after market steering wheel. Yet, despite all of the repercussions
that may come from altering a vehicle, it is the sheer enjoyment of creativity that gathers so many fans
to the sport.
People are always trying to come up with new ways to express their creativity through their vehicles.
Different body or frame modifications can be seen at every truck show, in the parking lot at the mall,
or even driving by on the freeway. Every color imaginable has been painted on the metal canvas of
every type of vehicle on the road today. Some even have multiple colors in various images displayed
on the hoods, sides and tailgates. One of the most popular images of the past decade are flames. These
different displays of creativity are an excellent way to draw wanted and unwanted attention to the
driver and to the vehicle. Imagine this scenario: a mini truck with bright blue flames stretching from
bumper to roll pan, dragging the frame on the ground

I Call The Doctor-Patient-Google Relationship
My primary goal, regardless of what specialty I enter, is to emotionally comfort the patient to lay the
foundation of what I call the doctor patient google relationship. No medicine can have such a vast and
profound effect on the behavior outcome of an individual who has felt a connection with another
human behind the invisible wall of the white coat and stethoscope. Once the foundation has been laid
and a safe space has been created, I believe that only our imagination limits us to the amount of
intelligent conversations that can be had with the patients who bring forth the knowledge dumped on
them by the media outlets.
What I value most in medicine is the platform for getting to know the patients over time. I can foresee
myself to become an expert not only of the medical conditions of the patients but also who they are as

I support the idea that it is worthwhile to prevent a fire than to risk lives putting out one. I am assertive
that through cooperation and meaningful discussion, we can circle back to effective patient
management practices that reward the effort to stay healthy and do not financially stress those who are
unfortunately tormented by sickness. All this can be achieved if I am able to establish emotionally
reinforced communication bridges with my patients who will receive longitudinal care under internal
medicine.
The Clinical Experience Elective will exponentially help me in my aforementioned trajectory. While it
is too early for me to choose a specialty, I am certain that internal medicine is my calling. As a

coherent functioning of the doctor and his staff. Through this elective, I can solely focus on observing

Essay on The Creamy Creations Take-over
Case Study #1
The Creamy Creations Take Over
The executives of Burger Barn have attempted to implement some new changes to Creamy Creations
in a positive light. However, some of these changes risk having an impact on the rosy future they
foresee for Creamy Creations. Currently, Creamy Creations is still profitable and the financial
numbers have rose since they took over management, but there are few things I do not think Burger
Barn put any consideration into when they looked at the current state of the business and the future
they foresee if business continues down the glories trail it is on currently.
One of the things I feel Burger Barn did not consider when they predicted the future of Creamy
Creations, is that Creamy Creations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will start to be more infrequent with their visits to the shoppe and eventually the shoppe will
have a chance of becoming a prime example of a tourist restaurant. This can cause the Ice Cream
Shoppe to become more seasonal then year round. Burger Barn also needs to think about the high
employee turnover. This could cause a business to go under really fast. If you get a reputation of never
having a more regular staff, customers are going to start to receive huge variances in customer service
and they may not return and you have a huge possibility of losing clientele. Also, you have a
possibility of running out of people willing to work for a place which seems to not treat the employees
well. People will wonder this because why else would the turnover rate be so high and the only
constant would be the ownership or management. These are all reasons why Burger Barn should not
be so optimistic about the future of Creamy Creations. There are few things that still need to be
tweaked before they can really start to be optimistic.
Some of the principles of classical management have been reflected in what has happened at Creamy
Creations. One of those principles is that management is making all of the decisions. Based off of the
case study, Burger Barns executives have made all of the decisions without any input from the staff.
The other principle which reflects on Creamy Creations is the division of labor.

Chemical Warfare Persuasive Reasearch Essay
The purpose of this essay is to deal with the fact that chemical warfare should be brought back to
modern warfare strategies. As Warren Rudman said, And they will tell you unequivocally that if we
have a chemical or biological attack or a nuclear attack anywhere in this country, they are unprepared
to deal with it today, and that is of high urgency. Rudman s words are true in what they say and that
we should do everything to counter act his statement. Biological weapons are a key to outstanding
success in war and therefore, I strongly suggest that chemical warfare is an effective and producible
weapon tactic that can be used on today s battlefield. Though biological weapons have been available

This was a risk. (Spartacus)
The fact that we cannot use chemical weapons is a very bad thing. We could have used these weapons
in the Vietnam War. With all the tall grass and dense forests, our soldiers were not prepared for the
close up combat. If we had used the chemical agents in that forest, we could have eliminated hidden
enemy forces and we would have saved many American soldiers lives.
With the growing problem of the war in the Middle East, we could use chemical weapons in order to
siphon out enemy forces hidden in houses. Enemies will hide in houses and then emerge when we are
near by surprise and they kill many soldiers by doing so. Our families are greatly affected by the loss
of a son, father, or brother. With soldiers dying every day, the problem could be fixed by using
chemical weapons because they flow into hard to attack areas. It is the only way to eliminate an
enemy without radioactive nuclear force. Chemical weapons would lessen the deaths of our soldiers.
There are many repercussions to not having a biological weapon. If we cannot reinstate chemical
warfare, we will continue to lose many soldiers lives. Having chemical weapons is like when we came
out with the UCAV. The UCAV stands for unmanned combat aerial vehicle. The UCAV got rid of the
loss of lives in the air. It made bombing targets easier. With chemical weapons, we could eliminate
thousands of war related deaths. If

The Role And Responsibilities Of The Nurse
As the nurse leader progresses through the strategic planning process, he or she must take into
consideration the financial costs and timeline required to implement their strategic plan. Developing
an operational budget and a realistic timeline are critical elements in ensuring the strategic plan is
successfully implemented (Lee Jones, 2004). Financial Resources For many years now, healthcare
organizations in Canada have faced financial challenges as a result of lower healthcare spending and
increased expenses (Canadian Institute for Health Information, 2014, para.1). Therefore, before the
introduction of any new initiative, the nurse leader must ensure the change does not bring any
financial hardship to the organization and resources are used in a cost effective manner (Marquis
Huston, 2015). For this planned change, there is no financial cost with revising the role and
responsibilities of all the Nurse Clinicians and the existing budget is the financial resource that will
cover the cost of adding another Nurse Clinician The largest financial aspect of this planned change is
the salary of the new Nurse Clinician. In this case, when creating another role the nurse manager has
to ensure the change will be cost neutral to the organization, meaning the addition of one Nurse
Clinician will have no impact on the overall budget. To accomplish this, the nurse manager
responsible for the Clinicians explained that when the unit assessors were doing the MDS, every unit

Environmental Problems Associated With Organic Dyes
1. INTRODUCTION
Environmental problems related with hazardous wastes and toxic water pollutants have attracted much
attention towards itself. Organic dyes are one of the major groups of pollutants in wastewaters
released from textile and other industrial processes.
Photocatalysis is a simple and promising technique for solving various current environmental issues.
Semiconductor absorbents offer a great potential for eliminating the organic pollutants present.
Semiconductor photocatalysts for example, zinc oxide and titanium oxide have been applied to
degradation of contaminants in waste water and air.
On common example,For photocatalysis process, ZnO has also been considered as a suitable
alternative for TiO2 due to The band gap energy of ZnO is similar to TiO2, the most used
photocatalytic material, so it hypothetically has the same photocatalytic ability as TiO2 and it exhibits
better performance in the degradation of organic dye molecules in acidic as well as basic media.
The doping of Cu in ZnO is expected to modify absorption, and other physical or chemical properties
of ZnO also.
Lately,( Co doping) doping of two types of atoms into semiconductor materials has attracted interest,
as it result in a higher photocatalytic activity and special characteristics compared with that of single
element doping into semiconductor oxides .
Here, a simple Physical method is developed for the synthesis of Cu doped ZnO nanorods, and their
photocatalytic activities with different

Analysis Of The Sunning God By Caleb Chavez
The Sunning God

It was a somewhat normal day as it started the constant birds chirping, the smell of pie that the
Neighbors cooked, and the taste of morning breakfast. My younger brother Bon and I were off the
school that morning. We don t go to a normal school due to the war. We went to a knight school where
they taught us how to use weapons. But what we didn t know is that day would be the worst day of our
lives. While we were gone our mother had been cleaning up the house, the house was hollow wood
with no door and one window. It smelled like a farm and looked like a barn.

I got up really fast to find the village under attack. The war was moving fast and we have to move

man charged at me with a sword slicing through the wind.
I ducked as quickly as I could and turned around and swung my scythe piercing one the man. I wanted
to say not so funny is it, but before I could the next two came at me. Both had long axes, which is also

I m finally in the lung. I can finally see what it looks like. I see a structure that looks like a three

bronchi branches off into the right secondary bronchi. Each one of the bronchi serves as an airway to a
specific lobe of the lung (Wikipedia, 2011). The bronchi have cartilage plates, smooth muscles, and
mucus secreting gland cells in its wall (Wikipedia, 2011). They contain cilia, which removes dust and
debris. Wow! The right secondary bronchi are branching off into very small passageways called
bronchioles. The bronchioles are responsible for controlling air distribution and airflow resistance in
the lungs (Wise Geek, 2012). They also contain cilia that help move air through the system. The

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Ich Bin-Bin Ein Berliner
In 1963, the government of East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to stop emigration from East
Germany into West Germany. In response to the wall s erection, JFK delivered a speech in West
Berlin, right next to the wall. In his famous Ich bin ein Berliner speech, JFK effectively employs
various rhetorical strategies in order to motivate the people of West Berlin and the world to take a
stand against the evils of communism, with the wall being a manifestation of this evil. He utilizes
juxtaposition, anaphora, and parallel structure to further his purpose. In doing so, he also effectively
sends a message to the USSR that the Western world will not let democracy perish anywhere, and will
stand up for all free peoples in the world. In his speech, Kennedy uses the rhetorical device of parallel
structure to emphasize the strength and positive attributes of West Germany and their democratic
political system. Towards the beginning of his speech, Kennedy states, Two thousand years ago, the
proudest boast was civis Romanus sum . The phrase civis Romanus sum is latin for I am a Roman
citizen , and was used as a rallying cry for the legal rights of Roman citizens. Rome was seen as the
pinnacle of power, but also the pinnacle of legal rights for the citizens of its republic. In literature
especially, the Roman political and legal ideals are regarded in very positive terms, and a comparison
evokes ideas of republicanism, justice, fraternity, and equality. In the next sentence,

Icarus Literary Devices
Greek mythology can be transformed to fit different circumstances in modern society. In his poem,
Icarus, Edward Field utilizes a myriad of different literary devices and techniques to adapt this age old
myth to a more contemporary setting. Field illustrates his interpretation of the myth in a modern
context through the use of symbols, contemporary connections to society, and strong diction. Also, he
focuses on other views of the fall of Icarus instead of only the fall itself. Throughout his poem, these
devices help to communicate his point of view on the myth to a modern day audience. Symbolism is a
key feature that aids in providing a deeper meaning to a piece. In the myth, Icarus melted his wings by

  • 2. The War Of The Concentration Camp And Extermination Camp... In November of 1944, John McCloy, the United States Assistant Secretary of War, responded by letter to John Pehle, United States Executive Director of the War Refugee Board, in opposition and briefly supported as to why the War Department of the United States was against and why it would not go through with the bombing operation of the concentration camp and extermination camp at Auschwitz Birkenau. In the brief McCloy laid out five specific reasons as to why the department would not be carried out the military plan at that point in time during the war. The five reasons that made up McCloy s argument were: first, Positive destruction of these camps would necessitate precision bombing, employing heavy or medium bombardment, or attack by low flying or dive bombing aircraft, preferably the latter. Second, the target is beyond the maximum range of medium bombardment, dive bombers and fighter bombers located in United Kingdom, France or Italy. Third, use of heavy bombardment from United Kingdom bases would necessitate a hazardous round trip flight unescorted of approximately 2,000 miles over enemy territory. Fourth, At the present critical stage of the war in Europe, our strategic air forces are engaged in the destruction of industrial target systems vital to the dwindling war potential of the enemy, from which they should not be diverted. The positive solution to this problem is the earliest possible victory over Germany, to which end we should exert our entire means. Fifth, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Design And The Technologies Used In depth defense network design.  Design a defense in depth network. Research the latest technology such as firewalls, IDS, IPS, VPN, Virus Protection, and Malware Protection. Describe your design and the technologies used. Defend your design and provide a logical diagram of the system. When it comes to network defense, there is never a safe zone where a network is prone to attacks, which is why it is always a good idea to make use of the in depth strategic defense. This is a coordinated use of multiple security countermeasures to protect the integrity of the information assets in an enterprise. This type of defense makes it difficult for an enemy to get into, because of its complex and multilayered defense system (Rouse, 2007). Defense in depth minimizes the probability that the efforts of malicious hackers will succeed. A well designed strategy of this kind can also help system administrators and security personnel identify people who attempt to compromise a computer, server, proprietary network. Some of the things that make up a defense in depth are antivirus software, firewalls, anti spyware, strong passwords, intrusion detecttion, biometrics and much more (Rouse, 2007). The first thing that comes to mind in designing an in depth defense network is access control and authentications. Which means that we will be dealing with firewalls, which will be used to protect the servers, segments and subnets. This first step will establish an industrial demilitarization zone, ... • 4. Dai Jo Bo s Plagued With Righteousness Serve, the fourth album by London based quintet WorldService Project, is composed of eight energetic tracks whose musical irreverence derives from a blend of impactful punk rock, stimulating funk, authoritative heavy metal, and light jazz. Plagued With Righteousness links passages that can go from acutely boisterous to soaringly atmospheric. The piece is a confluence of funk groove a la Morphine and classic heavy metal with an easy melodicism, more in the line of Scorpions than Judas Priest. While the trombonist spreads energizing lines, keyboardist Dave Morecroft, the band s principal composer, solos like if he had a guitar in his hands. Sometimes disruptive, sometimes ultra compact, Dai Jo Bo is a spunky punk exercise punctuated by a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Natural And Physical Inequality Unavoidably, every person enters the world with a unique set of talents, dispositions and attributes which lead him or her to perform better or worse than another person in certain realms. Rousseau calls this natural or physical inequality: one may be stronger, quicker or smarter than another, and as such able to complete more tasks than another. Rousseau argues that none of this matters in the state of nature because, similar to animals, mankind concerns itself with self preservation. Family bonds, or any other sort of organization of a group of people, do not exist in this state. The complete self sufficiency of each person means nobody needs to exercise control or domination of any sort over any other person to survive or enjoy a more luxurious lifestyle. I see him satisfying his hunger under an oak tree, quenching his thirst at the first stream, finding his bed at the foot of the same tree that supplied his meal; and thus all his needs are satisfied (Rousseau 47). Perhaps one more adept at finding food, whether by speed or size, will more easily satisfy his hunger and have more time to rest at the foot of the tree or to enjoy relations with those passing by. While this does provide an advantage, every person effectively lives the same sort of life, free of dominion of any sort. Similarly, Smith writes that talents of men differ on the basis of the realm they most naturally aspire to. While one man may inevitably be stronger than a second, the same second may ... • 6. Women’s Power to Change in No Name Woman, Maxine Hong... Throughout the years poverty has played an important role in changing traditions and cultures. Poverty has changed the role of women and their ways of thinking. In No Name Woman , Maxine Hong Kingston showed an example of how poverty changed the responsibilities of women in a small village in China. According to the narrator s mother, the women in this Chinese village, during the twentieth century, were to get married for one night and then all the men leave to America, to work there and send money home. The need for money gave women no choice but to obey. They did not choose whether they want their men to leave them or not. They were not asked if they wanted to get married or not. Because women could not go through the pain of hunger, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She did not want her child to turn out and be like her family or the villagers. If the child was a boy, he might have turned as every other man in the village and if the child was a girl, she might have had to face the consequences of her mother s problems. No Name Woman killed her child because she was worried that the child might have to face the same destiny as her She had taken the child with her into wastes (32). She decided that the best thing for the child is to die with her, instead of living and facing what the mother could not go through. No Name Woman s fear affected her decisions and destroyed her life. No Name Woman had a duty towards her family and child, but unfortunately she ran away from it. No Name Woman was an irresponsible person, who avoided defending her child and herself. According to the narrator, No Name Woman was the only child left in her family after all her brothers and her father traveled to America, She was the only daughter; her four brothers went with her father, husband, and uncles out on the road and for some years became the western men (27). • 9. Genetic Testing And Identification Of Dna Extraction Introduction. Extracting DNA from available cells is a widely used practice with applications such as forensics, genetic testing and victim identification to name a few. DNA extractions have been widely practiced for decades. This report simply summarises our results comparing two methods. The tests compared the effectiveness of the often cited salting out method based on Sunnucks and Hales (1996) method of DNA extraction from aphids, with a science at home style method of DNA extraction according to the NHGRI s video how to extract DNA from strawberries (2010) This made use of household detergent as a surfactant to allow the DNA out of the cell and its contents. This method is cheaper to run, not involving costlier laboratory chemicals like Proteinase K. (Ciulla, Sklar and Hauser, 1988, page 488) Each requires high precision to differentiate between samples from different individuals, and it is ideal to produce accurate results from a small sample. The sample must consist only of DNA for gel electrophoresis to give proper results, containing no protein or lipid impurities. The samples must be pure to be comparable, something that the YouTube method cannot offer with reliability due to not using Proteinase K, which was applied early in the salting out method to denature proteins for later removal. The YouTube method is predicted to obtain DNA, but not with the same consistency or accuracy as the salting out method, due to the lack of time and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Summary Of Father And Son Relationships In Henry IV Part 1 While almost any man can father a child, there is so much more importance of the father figure in a child s lifetime. Fathers that are willing to be actively involved have a great importance in their sons lives. They are able to add to their sons knowledge of manhood. Shakespeare made that certain in his writing Henry IV, Part 1 . This play goes into depth of father son relationships between two characters; Hotspur and Prince Hal. These two characters both posed fathers that had the capability of affecting their life choices and not always for the right reasons. The two men had two father figures to look up to. Falstaff, was an old drunk who revolved his life around partying and stealing. Henry IV believed that Prince Hal was simply sent to him as a punishment. The two together both made Prince Hal the man he was. Hotspur had the two conniving father figures; Thomas and Henry Percy. Their overall plan was just to make Hotspur s life and living hell. Father and son relationships have the capability to influence one s relationships with others and the choices made in their futures and that is exactly what these men did. Henry IV Part one tells a story about Prince Hal, a heir to the british throne and his evolution from wild child to an independent leader. However, Prince Hal stated this whole wild child movement was just for show. He believes that acting like an immature young adult and then having a big change will make the people enjoy his as a leader even more. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to nursing (2006), anxiety is natural reactions to threatening situations. Your body has a fight or flight reaction your heart races, you breathe faster, you sweat, and your stomach and head may ache . Therefore, UWS College has provided students with many useful services such as counselling service, disability service, international student service, workshops and programs. Inam, Saqib and Alam (2003) believed that students experience anxiety and depression because of many reasons. Firstly, this is because the high volume of techniques to be absorbed and the requirement of academic performance. For example, the negative impacts of stress on medical students contain the weakness of functioning in laboratory performance and clinical exercise, stress induced disorders and reducing performance. To solve this problem, learners should seek the advice of school counsellors. A research indicated that students who have been panic from the examination failure can manage pressure by improving their feelings of self control. They can enhance those skills by having appropriate learning strategies, suitable self instructions as well as relaxation time. In this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Musk conceptualized a project called Mars Oasis, in 2001, in which he would land a miniature experimental greenhouse on Mars that contained seeds and dehydrating gel, after hydrating the gel the seeds would grow on Martian soil (McKnight, 2001). The project was to regain a dwindling public interest in space exploration and increase the budget of NASA. Musk quickly realized that the expense of getting to Mars was far greater than he expected and that there would need to be a breakthrough in rocket technology. Musk traveled the world meeting with different rocket builders and space engineers in hopes of finding the right rocket builder and the right price to make his project a reality but did not find a suitable candidate. Musk had the idea of creating a company that could build the rockets that he needed at a fraction of the cost. Musk saw opportunity where others saw dead ends. He hired renowned rockets engineers and opened a facility in El Segundo, California, called SpaceX. Musk decided SpaceX s first rocket would be named Falcon 1, a nod to Star Wars Millennium Falcon (Vance, 2015). A few of SpaceX s achievements include: the first privately funded, liquid fueled rocket (Falcon 1) to reach orbit (28 September 2008), the first privately funded company to successfully launch (Falcon 9) orbit and recover a spacecraft (9 December 2010), the first private company to send a spacecraft 9Dragon) to the International Space Station (25 May 2012) and the first private company to send a satellite into geosynchronous orbit. Censorship In Sports Organizations First and foremost, these sports organizations have found sponsorship necessary as a means of offsetting rising costs and expanding promotional opportunities (Irwin, Sutton, McCarthy, 2008, p.146). When it pertains to deciding what sponsors will go where there is one large factor to consider. Is the sponsorship the right match for the demographic of the community? Would you want your organization to partner with a company that had no established business in the area? Would that make much sense for the company trying to establish a sponsorship either? Years ago, sponsorships did not have as much logic behind them, however, today to be determined successful, they need to pay dividends for both companies. According to Irwin, Sutton, McCarthy, ... • 14. Apprenticeship In Canada Apprenticeship was a common practice in the eighteenth century in Europe as well as in the United States, however, the reasons and the process for this practice varied between the two regions. Apprenticeship was used in the United States to keep the poverty rate low, while it was a way to learn a trade in Europe, which is the purpose Canada seemed to have adopted as well in Montreal. Bernard Elbaum s paper Why Apprenticeship Persisted in Britain But Not in the United States gives reasons for the existence of apprenticeship in Britain while its rapid decrease in the United States in the nineteenth century. This paper investigates the effects of literacy on average pay of the worker per year per person in Montreal. It is in comparison to John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason this seems true is because apprenticeship in Canada worked most like in Britain, where the boys were sent to live with the master to learn their trade and to become craftsmen. It was not a policy to decrease poverty in the region as was in Boston. To test the hypothesis, the variables of age, average pay per year in nominal and real terms, and dummy variables literacy of workers and end payment were used. For this study, the ages have been grouped into five categories: less than twelve years old, ages between twelve to fifteen, ages between fifteen to eighteen, ages between eighteen to twenty one, and ages greater than twenty one. The category ages greater than twenty one does create outliers in the analysis as there are fewer observations for this category than the rest. The first test shows the proportion of workers who can sign their name as opposed to those who cannot. From the overall population, only 1% of population who is under 12 years of age can sign their name, 13% of population who is between 12 to 15 years of age, 20% of population who is between 15 to 18 years of age, 3% of population who is between 18 to 21 years of age, almost no one over the age of 21 years can sign their names, and collectively 63% of the overall population cannot sign their names. One caveat for the next two tests is that it also considers the freedom dues paid to those workers who cannot sign their names. The second test shows whether the literacy of a worker affects their end payment. The graph shows that regardless of whether the children can sign, they get end payment until the age of 15. After the age of 15, however, the number of end payments decrease even though the number of workers who can sign increases. This is not consistent with the hypothesis. A reason for this could be an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A narratively complex show thus rejects the episodic convention of a return to the original status quo at the end of each episode, as one might see in an episode of Friends. Problems are often left unresolved to be expanded upon in future episodes. Narrative complexity is thus cumulative and unconventional: it is a combination of episodic closure and serial accumulation, and employs new and engaging narratives and forms of storytelling (Jackson). Of the many ways to achieve narrative complexity, Mittell discusses operational aesthetic, which can best be described as something similar to special effects. Operational aesthetic is augmented in certain moments within a narratively complex program. That being said, complex television employs something called the narrative special effect, which is when a program makes use of certain storytelling tools, to engage the viewer (Mittell 43). It is by way of the narrative special effect that the media makers attempt to foster engagement in audiences by planting clues, and this can be achieved through, for example, shifts in perspective or time, dreams or fantasy sequences, and the absence of clear storytelling cues. The result is that audiences focus and speculate on form and structure in addition to content (Jackson). As a narratively complex program, AHS: Murder House makes use of narrative special effects to drive its storyline and to develop its characters. The Man in the High Castle tells the story of a parallel world, one in which the Japanese and the Germans won the war, and the world now operates in their favor. The story line revolves around a book that is written by a man who only writes what the Ching says to. One book in particular is forbidden to many, and it is because the contents tell the story of what really happened , how we got to the world we live in today. Developing an operational budget and a realistic timeline are critical elements in ensuring the strategic plan is successfully implemented (Lee Jones, 2004). Financial Resources For many years now, healthcare organizations in Canada have faced financial challenges as a result of lower healthcare spending and increased expenses (Canadian Institute for Health Information, 2014, para.1). Therefore, before the introduction of any new initiative, the nurse leader must ensure the change does not bring any financial hardship to the organization and resources are used in a cost effective manner (Marquis Huston, 2015). For this planned change, there is no financial cost with revising the role and responsibilities of all the Nurse Clinicians and the existing budget is the financial resource that will cover the cost of adding another Nurse Clinician The largest financial aspect of this planned change is the salary of the new Nurse Clinician. In this case, when creating another role the nurse manager has to ensure the change will be cost neutral to the organization, meaning the addition of one Nurse Clinician will have no impact on the overall budget. INTRODUCTION Environmental problems related with hazardous wastes and toxic water pollutants have attracted much attention towards itself. Organic dyes are one of the major groups of pollutants in wastewaters released from textile and other industrial processes. Photocatalysis is a simple and promising technique for solving various current environmental issues. Semiconductor absorbents offer a great potential for eliminating the organic pollutants present. Semiconductor photocatalysts for example, zinc oxide and titanium oxide have been applied to degradation of contaminants in waste water and air. On common example,For photocatalysis process, ZnO has also been considered as a suitable alternative for TiO2 due to The band gap energy of ZnO is similar to TiO2, the most used photocatalytic material, so it hypothetically has the same photocatalytic ability as TiO2 and it exhibits better performance in the degradation of organic dye molecules in acidic as well as basic media. The doping of Cu in ZnO is expected to modify absorption, and other physical or chemical properties of ZnO also. Lately,( Co doping) doping of two types of atoms into semiconductor materials has attracted interest, as it result in a higher photocatalytic activity and special characteristics compared with that of single element doping into semiconductor oxides . The right pulmonary artery delivers oxygen depleted blood to the right lung. From the right pulmonary artery I have made it to the right lung. Once in the lung I will travel South West to reach the lower lobe of the right lung. I m finally in the lung. I can finally see what it looks like. I see a structure that looks like a three without leaves. I am passing the right primary bronchi. It is a tube like structure that allow for the passage of air between the trachea and lung (Health Type, 2012). As I move along the right primary bronchi branches off into the right secondary bronchi. Each one of the bronchi serves as an airway to a specific lobe of the lung (Wikipedia, 2011). The bronchi have cartilage plates, smooth muscles, and mucus secreting gland cells in its wall (Wikipedia, 2011). They contain cilia, which removes dust and debris. Wow! The right secondary bronchi are branching off into very small passageways called bronchioles. The bronchioles are responsible for controlling air distribution and airflow resistance in the lungs (Wise Geek, 2012). They also contain cilia that help move air through the system. I also knew little of Mao s fourth wife Jiang Qing and the fact that she was not only previously an actress, but also her behind the scenes role in creating all the propaganda films during the Cultural ... • 38. The Rhetorical Analysis Of Ich Bin-Bin Ein Berliner In 1963, the government of East Germany erected the Berlin Wall to stop emigration from East Germany into West Germany. In response to the wall s erection, JFK delivered a speech in West Berlin, right next to the wall. In his famous Ich bin ein Berliner speech, JFK effectively employs various rhetorical strategies in order to motivate the people of West Berlin and the world to take a stand against the evils of communism, with the wall being a manifestation of this evil. He utilizes juxtaposition, anaphora, and parallel structure to further his purpose. In doing so, he also effectively sends a message to the USSR that the Western world will not let democracy perish anywhere, and will stand up for all free peoples in the world. In his speech, Kennedy uses the rhetorical device of parallel structure to emphasize the strength and positive attributes of West Germany and their democratic political system. Towards the beginning of his speech, Kennedy states, Two thousand years ago, the proudest boast was civis Romanus sum . The phrase civis Romanus sum is latin for I am a Roman citizen , and was used as a rallying cry for the legal rights of Roman citizens. Rome was seen as the pinnacle of power, but also the pinnacle of legal rights for the citizens of its republic. In literature especially, the Roman political and legal ideals are regarded in very positive terms, and a comparison evokes ideas of republicanism, justice, fraternity, and equality. • 39. Getty Museum Report I recently read your reaction to the new Getty Museum. I found that your opinions about J. Paul Getty s museum align with my thoughts about the museum. You said the outer aesthetics of the museum provide people with a heated art controversy. You said that a museum must not portray a non neutral or partial nature between the museum s looks and its content. My perception of the museum falls under the relation between a statue and its pedestal. Most people observe and admire statues that sit atop a simple, uniform pedestal. But, when the pedestal receives a makeover making it highly glorified, the spotlight slightly shifts from the statue onto the pedestal. People don t lose complete sight of the statue, but people still appreciate and admire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Icarus Literary Devices Greek mythology can be transformed to fit different circumstances in modern society. In his poem, Icarus, Edward Field utilizes a myriad of different literary devices and techniques to adapt this age old myth to a more contemporary setting. Field illustrates his interpretation of the myth in a modern context through the use of symbols, contemporary connections to society, and strong diction. Also, he focuses on other views of the fall of Icarus instead of only the fall itself. Throughout his poem, these devices help to communicate his point of view on the myth to a modern day audience. Symbolism is a key feature that aids in providing a deeper meaning to a piece. In the myth, Icarus melted his wings by flying too close to the sun. In the poem, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
