1. This risk assessment evaluates the hazards involved in using computer workstations at all sites.
2. Using a computer workstation involves tasks like word processing, accounting, and data input using a keyboard, mouse, or both. Hazards include work-related disorders, stress, fatigue, eyestrain, and effects from chemicals.
3. Control measures to reduce risks include workstation assessments, awareness of display screen equipment regulations, varied work routines, breaks, approved chemicals, electrical safety, and training. The risk assessment will be reviewed in 3 years.

This method of checking the signal in the system for processing is called Polling Method. In this method, the problem is that the processor has to waste number of clock cycles just for checking the signal in the system, by this processor will become busy unnecessarily. If any signal came for the process, processor will take some time to process the signal due to the polling process in action. So system performance also will be degraded and response time of the system will also decrease.

The Maine Fiber Company is a telecommunications provider based in Portland,
Maine. The company was formed to oversee the construction, leasing and
maintenance of a 1,100-mile high-capacity fiber optic network being built in the
state of Maine.
Unlike most companies that operate fiber optic networks, Maine Fiber is a dark
fiber provider, not a lit service provider. Its customers are telecomm service
providers in the state of Maine that use the network as the backbone for the lit
services they provide to individuals – who are the actual end users.
The network was launched with the backing of a group of private investors and
a matching economic stimulus grant from the federal government. Maine Fiber
began using ArcFM™ Fiber Manager and ArcFM Viewer in September 2011.

Automotive communication systems: from dependability to securityNicolas Navet
"Automotive communication systems: from dependability to security", talk at the 1st Seminar on Vehicular Communications and Applications (VCA 2011), Luxembourg, May 2011.
Automotive embedded systems now include numerous software-intensive functions that are critical from a safety point of view (e.g., braking, assisted driving, etc). These functions are distributed on the Electronic Control Units and they need to exchange large amount of data with real-time constraints. In this context, the communication system plays a major role and it has to respect stringent dependability constraints. Security, especially with the widespread of wireless networks, is now becoming a serious matter of concern too. In this talk, we will review the main threats to dependability and security in automotive communication systems, the existing technical solutions to attain them, and, highlight areas where developments might be needed.
