This document describes a trivia game called "The Ultimate Category Game" developed using Assembly Language. The game has three categories - Facts, Arithmetic, and Memory. Each category has three levels of increasing difficulty with different numbers of questions. Facts involves trivia questions on various subjects. Arithmetic contains math problems. Memory challenges the player to input displayed words correctly. The game is still a partial completion but is intended to be educational while entertaining.

Basically, serious games provides enjoyment and knowledge, several researches in this field have focused into joining these two proprieties and make the best balance between them, in order, to provide the best game and enjoyable game experience and ensure the learning of the needed knowledge. Players differ and their knowledge background can be a lot different from one to the other. This study focused on how the SG adapts and provide the needed knowledge and enjoyment. The game should analyze players behavior from different angles, thus it can add difficulty, information, immersion or enjoyment modules to fit the player skills/knowledge.

Educational games share certain challenges with all serious games. A successful educational game needs to be both a good game and educational. Obvious, but many teams focus on one aspect and include either the game developer or educator as an after-thought. The result is either games that don’t teach or games that children won’t play. How do you determine at what level of mathematics (or any subject) a student should begin? How do you know if students learned something and how do you prove that your game was the cause? The educational component must target, teach, test and track. Is a game where the novelty effect never wears off an oxymoron? These questions will be answered, based on both the research literature, as well as our own data, from the first two years of research on using games to raise mathematics scores of students attending schools on American Indian reservations.
Informing SoTL using playtesting techniquesKatrin Becker
Typical research methodologies in SoTL include many of the traditional educational research methodologies, yet there are methodologies in other disciplines and industries that can provide fresh perspectives. One of these industries is the videogame industry. While there are fundamental differences such as the fact that one seeks primarily to entertain and the other to enlighten or educate, the practices, processes, and theories behind playtesting games can be used to inform aspects of pedagogy that relate to engagement. The primary focus in game design is on the experience and there has been considerable research into ways to assess and measure the player experience through playtesting. Playtesting is concerned with such things as whether or not the game is fun, which parts are too easy or hard, whether and when people become bored, and with the player’s progression through the to the end. All of these properties have relevance to teaching and learning even though they may not appear to be directly connected with whether or not the learning objectives were met. Rather, playtesting is concerned with the motivation of the player/student to continue the particular course of learning, which speaks to the success of the methodology in capturing the student's imagination. Sometimes, simply taking a novel approach to evaluation can yield insights that were not uncovered by more common approaches. This presentation will provide a brief overview of formal playtesting procedures and highlight ways these approaches could be used in the classroom as well as how this could inform pedagogy.

Most companies agree that people are their most important asset. In properly developing those human assets, companies seek long-term success through increased productivity, improved longevity, and other benefits. Then why are so many companies not realizing the best return from their training investment? The answer: poor retention of training materials.
During this session, You will learn how complementing your training materials with games will boost employee engagement and yield significantly increased retention. Games deliver lots of actionable data to measure effectiveness, both individually and through group learning, showing gaps and areas to optimize for a continuous cycle of improvement.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

Sachpazis:Terzaghi Bearing Capacity Estimation in simple terms with Calculati...Dr.Costas Sachpazis
Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure. The Calculation HTML Code included.
Water scarcity is the lack of fresh water resources to meet the standard water demand. There are two type of water scarcity. One is physical. The other is economic water scarcity.

2. Description
We would like to present our newly-developed game which is
entitled, “The Ultimate Category Game.” Basically, it’s a game where you
get to choosefromamong the three categories namely, Facts, Arithmetic &
Memory. Each category consists of three levels each and thoseare Easy,
Normal and Hard. The easy round contains 6 questions, normalhas 4
questions and lastly, the hard round consists of 2 nerve-racking questions.
Facts category involves trivia questions fromsubjects such as
Geography, Science, English etc. Arithmetic, obviously fromthe name itself,
is made up of questions purely derived fromMath. The Memory Game,
however, involves a kind of twist wherein in the normal and hard level, you
will be the one to input the word that was flashed on the screen. If you
make justone typo error, the whole thing that you had input will be
automatically incorrect so we strongly recommend you to be very careful of
everything that you will type and be awareof the instructions that will
constantly be displayed in the program. In every question, thereare 3
choices for the answer except in the normaland hard round of the memory
game.
This game isn’tfully developed yet. Itis justa partial completion of
the real thing so we hope you wouldn’tbe too disappointed especially
about the graphics of the game. One thing is for surethough, the user will
learn something fromthis program. Wevery well hope you’d find our
simple yet effective game entertaining enough since this was specifically
programmed for the joy of learning. Good luck and have fun!
