Arthritis can lead to several complications including trouble sleeping due to joint pain, weight gain from reduced mobility and activity, and mobility issues with tasks like climbing stairs or walking. The physical limitations of arthritis can also cause anxiety and depression. In severe cases, arthritis may lead to stress fractures or osteonecrosis where bones die due to lack of blood flow. Untreated arthritis increases risks for other diseases through complications like weight gain and decreased activity.

He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

Complications of Arthritis
Some of the complications you may encounter with arthritis include:
• Trouble sleeping
When your joints hurt, or you’re dealing with stiffness, it’s hard for you to sleep. This could be because you just can’t get completely comfortable, or
because the pain keeps you up at night.
• Weight gain
Arthritis affects your ability to get around, meaning you could have trouble walking or getting exercise.
Being less active can lead to weight gain.
• Mobility issues
Things that seem easy, like climbing a flight of stairs or walking down the street, can seem impossible when you suffer from arthritis. Just getting out
of bed may seem like a feat.

• Anxiety and depression
When you’re unable to get around properly and you’re in pain all the time, it takes a toll on your mental health.
Arthritis can cause both anxiety and depression related to the symptoms it causes.
• In severe cases, arthritis also leads to stress fractures and osteonecrosis, which is also known as bone
death. Your risk for other diseases also increases with untreated arthritis, due to other complications like
weight gain and decreased physical activity.
