Medicating Children
This chapter is divided into seven sections. Section One is an overview that discusses current trends in medicating children, problems the trends cause, and directions for the future. It also discusses developmental issues. Section Two focuses on stimulant medication and the diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Section Three focuses on research on combined interventions and particularly the Multimodal Treatment Study (MTA study) of Children with ADHD. Section Four focuses on children taking mood stabilizers. Section Five focuses on antipsychotics and children. Summary of an Academic Journal Article
The journal that I have decided to research served to answer the question of, to what extent are young adults engaging in “Relationship Work” with a partner and with a friend?”. These researchers focused on the differences that these behaviors caused within creating a functioning relationship that lasts within young couples. They decided to focus on dating couples because of a previous article about married couples that stated that relationships are greatly affected by outside factors like friends and family because they can influence the individual to believe that their status is either good or bad, (Proulx, Helms & Payne). This made the researchers believe there was still a piece missing in the study and that piece was young and fresh relationships. They wanted to know how this relationship work could change the overall wellbeing of that couple and how happy the two individuals were within it.
Before they surveyed the individuals, the authors came up with a few hypotheses. The first hypothesis that they explored was that females would be more willing to talk to their friends about relationship problems than their partners and that males would be the exact opposite, talking to their significant others more than their friends. The second hypothesis that they believed would be true is that unlike the study that observed older couples, younger relationships would struggle greatly if they were talking to their friends more than each other. This was assumed because the artists realized that older people tend to pick friends that would be more supportive of their relationships while younger people choose friends that trend to have information that can be “incorrect, misleading, and unsupportive.”(Jensen & Rauer).
The main factor that they were testing, or the dependent variable, was a combination of three different areas: happiness, commitment, and relationship quality. They used the quantitative method of surveying to sample individuals that both volunteered and were convenient to the authors. In other words, the researchers put out a questionnaire as ext.

20 participants will be engaged in the research study. This is a small number that is easier to manage as well as coordinate their activities during the data collection exercise. Ideally, participants are required and are normally sampled from a large population to be a representative. The nature of the study will require the researcher to get participants who have experiences in marriage. On gender, I will sample equal number of men and women to act as the representative of the general population. The approach is guided by the population in the community where the number of women and men is at par. On age, I will pick individuals from across ages although the highest percentage will constitute of married individuals between the age of 30 and 40 years. Further, I will also pick four individuals who have divorced with the aim of understanding whether introversion or extroversion contributed to their divorce. I will also look at the personal traits of individuals; hence will both social and anti-social individuals. The target participants will precise, representative and homogeneous. They will then be divided into different sets or strata that are mutually exclusive in order to aid it obtaining a systematic process of research.

In order to make decisions about the value of any research study for practice, it is important to understand the general processes involved in analyzing research data. By now, you have examined enough research studies to be aware that there are some common ways that data are reported and summarized in research studies. For example, the sample is often described by numbers of participants and by certain characteristics of those participants that help us determine how representative the sample is of a population. The information about the sample is commonly reported in tables and graphs, making use of frequency distributions, measures of central tendency, and dispersion. Information about the variables (or concepts) of interest when quantified are also reported in similar manner.

Needs assessments are a form of research conducted to gather information about the needs of a population or a group in a community (Tutty & Rothery, 2010, p. 149). One purpose of a needs assessment is to explore in more depth whether a new program within an organization or agency is needed (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Key questions of this type of needs assessment may revolve around: (1) whether there are enough prospective clients to warrant this type of program, (2) the different activities or programs that the respondents would be interested in using, priorities for some activities over others, (3) importance of the activities, and (4) times in which this program would be desired and used (Dudley, 2014, p. 117). Potential barriers for the implementation of a new program should also be assessed to ensure the best possible outcome. The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.

Antonette King, Britney Wardecker, and Robin Edelstein evaluated women
with and without childhood sexual abuse history, interviewing them roughly
two to four years after the birth of their first child. According to the research,
victims of CSA are more likely to develop suicidal thoughts, depression, low
self-esteem, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to Debra Rose Wilson’s research, after reviewing multiple and
significant longitudinal and epidemiology studies, adult survivors of CSA of
both genders experience more eating disorders, obesity, addictions,
depression, and autoimmune disorders, such as asthma and irritable bowel
syndrome.
According to Ullman and Peter-Hagene’s study which investigated coping
strategies and CSA, all participants had an unwanted sexual incident at the
age of 14 or older and had discussed the incident with someone.
According to the 2015 study titled Exploring Mental Health Consequences of
Childhood Abuse and the Relevance of Religiosity, more mental health
problems were associated with CSA victims versus non-CSA victims.
Soldat, et al. (1997) tested the difference between red and blue colored paper
for performance. The observations from this research indicated that there was
a positive and negative effect in the form of happiness and sadness based on
the color and that those with the blue paper performed better.
