Masthead
The title and the mast head of a pop
magazine would generically be the most
eye catching pare of the magazines front
cover, with both of the products the
masthead is the biggest part but also is
filled with a colour that can be found is
other places on the cover, creating the
main colour for the colour scheme of
that issue, the iconography also helps
identify the target audience for the
cover, with both magazines a shape of a
heart is found within the masthead, with
the colour of pink as well the target
audience would be obvious to be a
young target audience. The masthead
and title of the magazine conforms with
the generic conventions of a pop
magazine masthead comparing it with
‘We heart pop’.

Key image.
Generically the key image for a pop
magazine would be the largest image on
the page, following conventions the key
image would be the leading story for the
magazine and what is suppose to attract
the target audience the most. Male gaze
would be used to have attract models on
the front of the cover and as the target
audience would be young females, male
gaze is used for the models on the cover
to be seen as an aspiration for the
audience and attracting them to read the
magazine more, this is what most music
magazines would do to draw in their
audience, in my magazine I have
conformed this convention so I can
address the target audience more.

Features.
Pop music magazine front cover
generically contain a few featured stories
to allow the audience to read a small
amount about the other stories that are
going to be featured in the magazine. In
‘We Heart Pop’ magazine and others
images are used to support these stories
and give a further insight on what to
expect and what else can be read about
to open up to a bigger audience as well. I
have not followed this convention for my
magazine as I have only included one
feature and have not provide any extra
images to follow this feature, this would
be subverting the generic convention of
features in a pop music magazine.

Promotions and extras.
A convention of pop magazines is the
promotions and small advertisements on
its front cover page. In We heart pop,
they have promoted the posters included
in the magazine, they have also
advertised female clothing, this is also an
indication of their target audience. My
magazine included promotions and
extras follow the generic convention, but
on the other hand I have not featured
any promotions that would indicate a
target audience, for example make up
and clothing.

On a content page for any music
magazine the page number will be given
with a small amount of text about what
to find on that page so the audience can
quickly and easily get to what they want
to read about, this makes things easier
for the audience. I have followed
conventions by including a section of the
page where this is available for the
audience just like other pop music
magazines such as we heart pop and top
of the pops. When chosing what to write
about in the contents I had to use media
theories such as uses and gratification
theory.

Editors issue
An editors issue on a magazine is where
the editor of the magazine will write to
the audience giving them an insight on
what they can be expecting in the issue
of this magazine, this is a direct address
to the audience and will make the
audience feel more involved with the
process of the magazine as if the editor
is talking to them directly. A general
convention of magazine with the editors
issue is that they will sign the end of the
article I have included that convention to
conform.

Extras
Other conventions of pop magazines
contents pages would include things
such as images and promotions, I have
included an image in the middle of the
page, as we heart pop have to promote
another story for the magazine so there
is more then one story being promoted. I
have also included poster promotions at
the bottom of the page and promotions
around the page, advertising different
pages and things they can get involved
in. Colour scheme I had tried to follow
the same as the front cover, we heart
pop magazine used different colours on
its contents page such as blues and
pinks, this made the page look more
addressing and colourful, I had not
followed this convention as I had stuck
with one colour, pink, and changed the
shade throughout instead of using
different colours.

Headings and article
Major conventions for double page
spreads are the heading and the article
for that page, this is the main focus for
the double page spread and is what the
audience will be focusing on. I followed
conventions are include an interview for
my article and broke the text up into
questions and answers conforming
conventions, this makes it easier to read
for the audience and lets it set out easier
into columns. I included a small
introduction to the interview before it
which the magazine with an interview
with Taylor swift did not include. I
followed conventions also with the
heading of the article being a quote from
the article, this is supposed to grab the audience attention and make them want to find out about what they have said during
the interview. I have also included images around the page, following another convention of the double page spread. I have
also included a larger key image at the side of the page to indicate who the article is on and what the main focus is going to be.

Comparison of products Editors issue An editors issue on a magazine is where the editor of the magazine will write to the audience giving them an insight on what they can be expecting in the issue of this magazine, this is a direct address to the audience and will make the audience feel more involved with the process of the magazine as if the editor is talking to them directly. A general convention of magazine with the editors issue is that they will sign the end of the article I have included that convention to conform.

Comparison of products Extras Other conventions of pop magazines contents pages would include things such as images and promotions, I have included an image in the middle of the page, as we heart pop have to promote another story for the magazine so there is more then one story being promoted. I have also included poster promotions at the bottom of the page and promotions around the page, advertising different pages and things they can get involved in. Colour scheme I had tried to follow the same as the front cover, we heart pop magazine used different colours on its contents page such as blues and pinks, this made the page look more addressing and colourful, I had not followed this convention as I had stuck with one colour, pink, and changed the shade throughout instead of using different colours.

Comparison of products Headings and article Major conventions for double page spreads are the heading and the article for that page, this is the main focus for the double page spread and is what the audience will be focusing on. I followed conventions are include an interview for my article and broke the text up into questions and answers conforming conventions, this makes it easier to read for the audience and lets it set out easier into columns. I included a small introduction to the interview before it which the magazine with an interview with Taylor swift did not include. I followed conventions also with the heading of the article being a quote from the article, this is supposed to grab the audience attention and make them want to find out about what they have said during the interview. I have also included images around the page, following another convention of the double page spread. I have also included a larger key image at the side of the page to indicate who the article is on and what the main focus is going to be.
