Swot Analysis Of Subway
Abstract One of my first jobs a young adult was as a store manager for a local Subway restaurant.
Subway is a franchise that has restaurants all over the United States and in several other countries.
They operate the organization under a stable culture. I will use my personal experience and the
five signs of organizational culture which include mission statement, stories and language,
physical layout, rules and policies, and rituals to explain for the organization conveys its
organizational culture. Mission Statement Subway s mission statement is Delight every customer,
so they want to tell their friends with great value through fresh, delicious, made to order
sandwiches, and an exceptional experience (Farfan, 2017). When reviewing the mission
statement we can see that the customer service and value is of great importance to the
organization. The mission statement reflects that the business is focused on attention to details
and creating an experience that will keep customers coming back and referring others to their
stores. The mission statement conveys to both the employees and the customers that they will
have a stable culture. It does so by so by placing emphasis on quality control and constance. A
stable culture is reflected here because Subway will use certain formulas, rules, and strict
policies to make sure the customer gets the same excellent service and product at all of its stores.
Rituals While working for Subway I had the opportunity to visit several locations. There are not a
lot of rituals within the organization. Rituals refer to repetitive activities within an organization
that have symbolic meaning (Carpenter, Bauer, Erdogan, 2012, P. 399). One ritual that is popular
in most subway restaurants is a sandwich building speed test. After an employee had been
employed for 90 days a manager would pick a sandwich off the menu and have the sandwich artist
make it as fast as possible. The employee would be scored based on the time it took for them to
assemble the sandwich, how closely they followed the build formula for that sandwich, proper
length of the sandwich, and neatness of the product upon completion. This ritual reflects that stable
culture in a way that this

What is Use of Force?
Police have been given the responsibility to enforce the laws of a government and to ensure peace
in the communities in which they operate. The police have a necessary role to aid the government
in maintaining social control, and in carrying out their tasks they have been given the authority to
use force. The United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the public gains knowledge of police misconduct in the line of duty, acts of protests,
demonstrations, strikes and civil disobedience are conducted in response (Palmiotto, p.15) When
police engage in behaviors that results in them improperly using the authority given to them to
oppress, harm or kill individuals without legal justification, the spotlight tends to shine bright on
the officer and their department. This creates unwanted complications for law enforcement
administrators and can damagingly impact the agency s ability to carry out its mission. Improper
application of force can degrade relationships with the community, disrupt the flow of control
within the department, and result in the loss of manpower and financial resources due to legal
fees and lawsuits launched by the victims of the excessive force. To prevent excessive use of force
from occurring, departments have initiated guidelines for officers to adhere to when deciding to
use force to subdue a suspect. These guidelines are a part of the use of force continuum.
Use of Force Continuum
The use of force continuum is what police agencies use to provide guidance to their departments on
the application of force. The continuum takes in consideration the officers ability to handle a
situation. If the officer is unable to handle the situation by using the minimum amount of force, then
the officer can escalate to a greater level of force until the point of compliance.

Compare Qualitative And Pragmatic Approach
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to compare qualitative and quantitative approaches to research
investigation in social science. After further examination of the relevant literature, a pragmatic
approach has also been taken into consideration within this paper. I will discuss in detail about
human perception and assumption and the impact that this can have on research investigation. I
will critically discuss and compare the epistemological differences of quantitative and qualitative
research approaches with an additional focus on a mixed method approach. I will consider the
strengths and weaknesses of the three approaches, the differences in the research design and
methodologies and present a logical academic argument to detail my understanding. ... Show more

Creswell (2003) refers to paradigms as worldviews which he believes to have four elements; post
positivism, constructivism, transformative and pragmatic. Guba (1998) refers to positivism as a
separate entity from other paradigms such as post positivism and constructivism. Tashakkori and
Teddlie (1998) talk about those paradigms discussed by Guba with an addition of pragmatism and
(Shadish, 1995) talks about the concept of logical positivism . Bryman (2004) refers to positivism
and interpretivism and differentiates these from its variations; phenomenology and symbolic
interactionism. To clarify and make myself feel slightly better Morgan (2007) explains that social
scientists can talk about paradigms and each easily mean something entirely different. Morgan talks
about four versions each version treating paradigms as shared belief system influencing the
knowledge that researchers seek. He uses this concept of a paradigm as his main basis for
discussion within his document. (Scotland, 2012) explains that different paradigms consist of
differing ontological and epistemological views and therefore present differing assumptions of
reality and knowledge which is embedded within their research approach. Kuhn (1970) details
paradigms as epistemological stances which influences how research questions are

Hillary Clinton Compare And Contrast
Have you seen the presidential debates lately? Hillary and Donald have been strongly arguing
over who should become the next United States president. The two candidates have pretty valid
points and both want to work on certain topics. They will agree and disagree on different topics
as well, but who is fit to be president? There are two significant topics that the two have spoken
about, climate change and abortion, so who has more reasonable policies and opinions on these
topics, Hillary or Donald? If I could vote, I would vote for Hillary Clinton because she has a lot
of political experience and great changes to make. 68 year old Hillary Diane Clinton graduated
from Yale University in 1973, then later served as the first lady of the U.S. from 1993 to 2001.
From 2001 to 2009, Clinton served as a U.S. senator and is now rich as of being a presidential
candidate with many, many votes. She s had quite a bit of political experience. Donald John Trump
is a billionaire who graduated from Fordham University in 1966, and Wharton school in the
University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Trump starred in a hit reality TV show called The Apprentice,
with not much political experience. Just knowing these facts, who do you think would be a better
president? Climate Change... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

energy independence and our national security and reduce the consequences of global warming.
Clearly, Clinton is onto something, unlike her rival. Trump states, This very expensive global
warming ******** has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW

The Theory Of Utilitarianism And Rule Utilitarianism
Have you eaten breakfast this morning? Put on clean clothes? Did you have a bed to sleep in at
the end of your day? For millions of less fortunate around the world, the answer to those questions
is no. Knowing this is true, can you continue to go about your day and claim to be a moral and
ethical person? In order to obtain the greatest pleasure for the greatest number of people, it is clear
that you in order to uphold your moral duty; you must contribute to those experiencing poverty.
When applying this concept to the consequentialist theory of utilitarianism, it is important to first
examine the difference between act utilitarianism and rule utilitarianism. As Mosser explains, act
utilitarianism tells us that we must question what single act would generate the greatest good.
Whereas, rule utilitarianism evaluates the actions themselves and determines what would produce
an outcome that institutes the greatest good. (2013 sec. 6.1) From an act utilitarian standpoint,
say you had a hundred dollars to spend lavishly. If you purchased the designer shirt you have
been looking at for weeks, you would definitely be happy, you would make the person selling the
shirt happy, and you would make the company making the shirt happy. Yet, if you were to give the
same hundred dollars to charity and it fed a family for a week, gave them new clothing, the
medicine they needed, and better shelter this action would outweigh your pleasure from the shirt
you purchased. Not only from

Sn2 Nucleophilic Substitution Lab Report
1 and 2) In this experiment, Sn2 nucelophilic substitution between an unknown nucleophile solution
and the known reagents benzyl bromide and NaOH occurred to form a benzyl ether product. 3)
Refluxing, recrystallization, melting point, and TLC were used to purify and identify the products
of the reaction. 4) In order for nucleophilic substitution to take place, an electron pair donor (the
nucleophile) and an electron pair acceptor (the electrophile) with a good leaving group must be
present. In this experiment, Sn2 nucelophilic substitution occurred. In Sn2 nucelophilic
substitution, the nucleophile performs a backside attack at the same time the leaving group leaves ,

was 4 tert butylbenzylphenolether. The melting point range of the pure, unknown compound (35
44 В°C) was closest to the one measured for 4 tert butylbenzylphenolether (36 51 В°C). Also,
the scale like appearance of the unknown solid was very similar to the appearance of 4 tert
butylbenzylphenolether. The NMR spectra solution #33 (the unknown) matched closest to that of
4 tert butylbenzylphenolether 14) The yield (.468 g) makes sense because it was lower than the
theoretical yield calculated (1.57 g). Yield may have been lost because the crystals formed too
quickly, causing some of them to be small in size and seep through the filter and into the filtrate.
15) The percent recovery of 55.7% makes sense. The recovery is lower than 100% because the
product contained impurities before it was recrystallized, which made it heavier in mass. After
recrystallization, these impurities were removed, causing the final pure product to have less mass.
These impurities were confirmed to exist through

Modern Funerals In The Modern Funeral
The modern funeral is something that everybody experiences either through death of an
acquaintance or by direct necessity to arrange a funeral yet so many people know so little about
funerals and the industry behind it. This lack of knowledge is the main cause of consumer s issues
with the modern funeral. Arranging a funeral is at least problematic and in most cases is a
harrowing experience. This clearly indicates that fundamental problems exist in the funeral industry.
The funeral should be a hallowed event but is one overshadowed by the depressing and stressful
ordeal of arrangement. A majority of these issues could be resolved if the general public knew about
funerals but unfortunately this knowledge is not common and has many affects on the consumer.
The average consumer knows almost nothing about the average funeral in the United States, even
the most common things, such as embalming. Embalming is a method of preserving a dead body.
This is an oddly grotesque method is the standard in the United States. This indicates that this
process has had the largest effect on the funeral industry and this is certainly true. Embalming is
something that has formed the American funeral industry since its proliferation since the American
Civil War. This is also why the funeral industry in the United States is vastly different than almost
anywhere else in the world. In Europe an American funeral is seen as a very strange ritual. Putting
a preserved dead body on display is not

The Book Of Revelation By John When He Was On The Isle Of...
The book of Revelation was written by John when he was on the Isle of Patmos. This book is
the only book in the Bible that is made up entirely of apocalyptic writing. Revelation appeals to
the imagination and provokes visions of the coming of the Lord. There are many symbols and
numbers found in the scriptures that are significant to end times. This book is revealing to us
what will happen in the latter days when God will bring the world to an end. The judgement is
contained in a scroll that is seven times sealed and only the Lamb is worthy to open and read it
(Knowles 701). The phrase seven sealsrefers to the seven symbolic seals that secure the book and
when the Lamb broke each seal, a judgement is released or an apocalyptic event occurs.
The opening of the first seal is described in Revelation 6:1 2, And I saw when the Lamb opened
one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come
and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was
given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. (The Thompson Chain Reference
Bible, King James Version, Revelation 6:1 2). According to Matthew Henry, the white horse
signifies purity. It was during a time when the Heavenly Father sent his witnesses to teach all
nations. The crown represents the Divine nature of the religion, while the bow represents being
spiritually armed against their foes. The second seal was

How To Eat In Ancient Ghana How to eat in ancient Ghana. The Ancient Ghana civilization lasted
from about 300 1200 A.D.. The Ancient country lies in Western Africa where the modern
countries of Mali, Mauritania, and Senegal are today (Kingdom of Ghana). The people of Ghana
ate what they could provide by farming. They farmed crops such as corn and rice. The Niger river
,which cut across ancient Ghana, flooded like the Nile during the rainy season bringing water and
nutrients to their fields (Social Aspects of Ancient Ghana) . They raised animals such as Goats,
chickens, and sheep to eat. The people mostly ate several different types of soup with fufu, plantain,
bread, rice, and potatoes. The soups were nut based with different meats such as fish, mutton, goat,
or chicken added (Ancient Ghana Environment). Fufu is the african equivalent to mashed potatoes.
It normally accompanies soup or a meat with gravy. Fufu is rolled up into balls then a indenture is
made. It is then used to scoop up soup or gravy. In Central Africa Fufu is made out of cassava
tubers (Fufu). Cassava tubers are starchy roots from the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae) of plants
(Cassava Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits). In West Africa ,where Ghana was located, Fufu was
made out of yams. Yams are tubers root vegetables native to Africa... Show more content on

Analysis Of Theodor W. Adorno s The
about the world around us, even just for a moment. This boldly claims a kind of autonomy for art,
but one that is distinct from Theodor W. Adorno s conception and more in line with the affirmative
notions the aesthetic impulse. As such, the kind of aesthetics that I am eluded to here is not just a
state of contemplation. It is much more. As Cramerotti describes in his aforementioned essay, it is
rather the capacity of an art form to put our sensibility in motion, and convert what we feel about
nature and the humanrace into a concrete (visual or bodily) experience . It is useful to introduce
Deleuze s categories of the actual and the virtual and put them into motion. In his 1968 text
Difference and Repetition , Deleuze explains that the virtual is not opposed to the real; it
possesses a full reality by itself. The process it undergoes is actualisation. It would be wrong to
see only a verbal despite here: it is a question of existence itself . Deleuze s category of the virtual ,
the realm of affects and Paterson s documents of darkness are united in their intangibility and their
capacity to move the spectator beyond the familiar. Collectively, these forces harness the ability to
transport the viewer to another time and place.
In his 1992 text Chaosmosis: An Ethico Aesthetic Paradigm , Guattari describes this capacity as an
ethico aesthetic paradigm, which pertains to subjectivity as well as art. He argues that new
complexes of subjectivation become possible

The particular issues chosen for this paper were distributed to the town from May 1st to May

on Canadian rights and independence, specifically sovereignty from the British colonial
government. Originating in modern day Quebec, (then called Lower Canada) this independence
movement was sparked by a rebellion against the Crown by the Parti patriote , or Patriote Party
and their followers from 1837 to 1838. The rebellion however was put down by the British faily

The cause of the Quebec Rebellions of 1837 was the result of longstanding disputes about the
nature of the British colonial government, a serious economic depression, and the growth of an
urban Anglophone population. The rebellion was short lived and quickly put down by the
Lower Canadian/British colonial government. Following the failed insurrection, many rebels
sought refuge in the town of Swanton, Vermont not only due to its proximity to the border to
Canada but also due to the fact that the town held many American supporters of the movement
as well. The primary focus of the paper was specifically to highlight the injustices against the
Parti Patriote by the colonial government including highlighting the individuals who had been
imprisoned, banished or killed. On the first page of each issue of North American is a section
entitled People of Canada! Remember that the blood of martyrs in the cause of FREEDOM

of despotism, in the Lower Province . The section lists twenty names of people who had been

Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more
than 11 million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on
Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to
a fatigued crew, a lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an
inadequate ship design. The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill
prevention and response improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound.
On 22 March 1989, the Exxon Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo
bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers
drove into town the following morning with William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading
the ship through the Valdez Narrows. According to the National Transportation Safety Board
(NTSB 1989,29), Hazelwood in addition to finishing ship business and running errands had a
few alcoholic drinks that afternoon at a local bar and at least one more drink as the group waited
for dinner. At 2024 on 23 March, the officers returned to the ship at 2024 and found out that the
ship was ready to depart at 2100. The ship was originally scheduled to depart at 2200. Before the
officers returned, Third Mate Gregory Cousins had performed pre departure equipment tests and

The Help, By Kathryn Stockett
Originally a book written by Kathryn Stockett, The Help, was transformed into a film in 2011,
directed by Tate Taylor. Taking place in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, the perspective
of (mainly) two middle aged negro maids (Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson) were recorded in
hopes of setting truth free. Miss Eugenia ( Skeeter ) Phelan, hopeful to be a journalist, claimed
that black lives were not as pleasant as portrayed, therefore she desired to reveal the truth behind
their lives through a book of interviews. The film, The Help, while not going in depth is quite
historically accurate through the depiction of social classes, racial segregation, the Jim Crow laws,
and the Civil Rights Movement (dealing with racism, violence, and homicide).... Show more content

However when writing her novel, Ms. Phelan s superior communicates to her that she has three
weeks to complete it in hopes before the movement is terminated. While many would say that
the Civil Rights Movement was barely covered in the film, this section alone utters a thousand
words. When Eugenia Phelan s supervisor, Elaine Stein, conveys to Phelan to speed her novel
up, then she is implying that the movement could pass at any moment. Implying that rather
instead of a movement, it was just a temporary period of uprisings. While Elaine Stein had all the
best intentions in assisting the blacks by publishing the book, what she said can be implied as

Pop Culture And Popular Culture
Popular Culture s Influence: How Lucille Ball Inspired Me Everyone develops into a different
person, but there s no doubt that we take inspiration from others. Being exposed to horror movies
at a young age by one s parents can make a child fearful, or give them an appreciation for movies
and what makes them scary. Likewise, being introduced to comedy at a young age can mold a
child s taste in humor or appreciation for the genre. Popular culturehas helped influenced many of
us, and it has made us the people we are today; after all, haven t we all heard a child say they
want to grow up and be a superhero? These icons, such as superheroes or actors, have helped
inspire people both negatively and positively. One icon which has inspired me is Lucille Ball, her
influence has made me more optimistic because she overcame great difficulties in her life and
because the characters she played were very independent and outgoing.
I grew up watching Lucille Ball on her show I Love Lucy, and I was inspired to be optimistic
because of the manner in which she overcame challenges in her life. Because she was optimistic
when realizing her goals, the pop culture icon has influenced me greatly. Popular culture, according
to Psychology Today writer Jim Taylor, is, grounded in expressions of shared experiences that are...
fundamental to our society, including the values and beliefs that have shaped it. (Popular Culture:
We Are What We Consume). It can be said that popular culture revolves around

Ann E Burg All The Broken Pieces Analysis
In the story All the Broken Pieces written by Ann E Burg, a character named Matt makes a
comparison about him and his little brother being compared as fall and summer. Matt s
comparison is firstly being compared by him being dark and drowsy, while he secondly
compares tommy, his brother, to summer a happy joyful time of the year Matt s comparison is
firstly being compared a darkening, droopy, sad time of the year, but not just physically mentally
as well. For example, in the book matt says, I m too much fall wet brown leaves under a
darkening sky. This statement shows that Matt is comparing himself physically as in having dark
brown hair and dark eyes. The comparison of fall makes it more detailed and more understandable
to the readers. But

Alexander Wendt s Teleological Theory
My first theorist critique will focus on Alexander Wendt and his teleological theory on the logic of
anarchy which holds that a world state, through a monopoly on the use of organized violence, is
inevitable. Wendt s theory can be housed under explanatory progressivism which in turn yields
itself to comparative analysis against the broader foundational theories of realism. and liberalism,
and contingent progressivism. Given the teleological identity Wendt assigns his assertion, we will
also find relevance in examining the connections with self organization theory. This paper will open
with a summary of the logic of anarchy , the inevitability of a world state, and will then flow into
the comparative analysis mentioned above. The summary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

All real world change or dynamics is seen to follow, or be motivated, by this law. The first law of
thermodynamics is meant to identify and explain that which remains the same, and thereby, the
second law is meant to observe and explain that which is in a state of change or causes change. A
useful example is If a glass of hot liquid, for example is placed in a colder room a potential exists
and a flow of heat is spontaneously produced from the cup to the room until it is minimized (or the
entropy is maximized) at which point the temperatures are the same and all flows stop. Taking this
basic framework and applying it to the International relations system, we can see that perhaps
Wendt is correct in assuming that a one world state is indeed inevitable, but incorrect in his
statement that it will be a peaceful and less competitive one world

Shale Gas Of Ammonium And Ethylene
Shale Gas to Ammonium and Ethylene

Main Goals:
We are interested in using our shale gas stream, which we currently sell as heating fuel, to create
another product of value. We are considering taking the shale gas and producing anhydrous
ammonia, urea, ammonia sulfate, and ethylene. The main goal is to make a greater profit from our
shale gas by selling it as more valuable products rather than solely heating fuel.
Specific objectives and requirements: This project aims to create valuable products from natural gas
extracted from shale formations. The shale gas feed entering the process contains mostly
hydrocarbons that can be transformed into a variety of value added chemicals, but it also contains
impurities that must be removed. Carbon dioxide is useful in the chemical reactions utilized to
convert hydrocarbons into hydrogen gas (in order to create ammonia), but at 8 mole percent, the
concentration of CO2 in our feed will dilute the shale gas and may cause corrosion. Hydrogen
sulfide is not only hazardous to health and corrosive to pipelines, but also destroys metal catalysts
used in the processes downstream. These impurities can be removed using a variety of separations
techniques. Once removed, however, sulfur should not be considered a waste product. It can be
collected and used in ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Depending of the desired quality of gas,

Essay About Houston
Beatriz Gaona
Prof. Andrew Tolle
ENGL 1301 41028
17 September 2017 Houstonians A poem written by South Carolina pastor, Jeremy Rutledge has
given readers a lot to think about. The poem was composed after the great Hurricane Harvey
tragedy in Houston. In his poem Rutledge mentions the word pray many times but the meaning of it
goes way beyond that. When praying for something it is important to know the aspects and
struggles of it, and that is exactly what Rutledge is doing in this poem, stating all the things that
make Houston unique, diverse, and capable to rise from it all. Throughout the entire poem
Rutledge suggests just how diverse Houston is. For instance, the lines, pray like you re sitting
over Soup at Spanish Flowers or pho at Mai s steaming your glasses are great examples of this.
The difference between both cuisines is huge emphasizing diversity. For example, Spanish Flowers

BeyoncГ© is a huge influencer well known to be from Houston. In the poem Rutledge says,
Pray like BeyoncГ© when she was at HSPVA . BeyoncГ© struggled to come up from nearly
nothing to becoming one of music s top selling artists with sold out tours and a slew of awards.
By putting BeyoncГ© in the poem Rutledge universalizes Houston and reaches out to a whole
other group other than Houston itself. Rutledge also implies that like BeyoncГ© Houston can rise
from nothing. Along the same lines, Rutledge says you can fill up our bayou but you will never
rain on our parade . Meaning Hurricane Harvey can rain and flood their river but never lower their
spirits. Just like BeyoncГ© fell many times but stayed strong and rose from it all. BeyoncГ© is an

The Pros And Cons Of Homogenity
The Truth Untold...
God made all men equal . This is what we have been told by our wise elders since childhood.
Even the holy scriptures belonging to various religions teach the same. But history is a witness for
every act and deed which contradicted this moral which we have been learning, where majority of
a kind cornered the minorities and exploited them; first on the basis of gender, then color, followed
by religion and then by nationality and then by language and so forth. But this does not end here.
Individuals have been oppressed even on the basis of their orientation(sexuality) and gender identity
, not just in the recent times but far to longer than we can guess.

but that deliberateness, it turns out, is their strength. They take time to think through complex
problems before they act. People, however, are different. People react first from the gut and then

During the British raj of the 1860s, the colonizers introduced a law, now popularly known as IPC

the lives of the rainbow people miserable, making them vulnerable to threats, hate crimes, physical
abuse, extortion and a lot more. The transgender community or the hijras are the people who are
affected by this the most. Where many customs demand blessings of the third gender, many people

Bear Mccreary Monologue
Hey, everyone! Just got back from watching The Walking Dead s Season 7 Episode 2 and I have
to say, it has a good feel to it. But before that, let s start at the beginning. So for those who haven t
seen the newest and latest episode of TWD, beware as this contains spoilers. Really. Anyway, yeah.
Okay, so first we see the recap from when we last saw Carol and Morgan with the former badly
injured because of a savior (I think) and the latter facing two men with horses and body armors
looking bad ass as heck. Then comes the well known and loved masterpiece of Bear McCreary
which is also known as The Walking Deadtheme song. Also, quick fact that I m not even sure is
quite precise but to heck with it: McCreary wanted to compose something that when we hear it,
TWD almost immediately comes to mind. And indeed, it has. Kudos to Bear McCreary!
Now, going back, we see Carol laid unto something, a somewhat wheelbarrow like carriage that is
being dragged by a horse when suddenly, I don t know. Sorry! Bad at storytelling but we re now in
Carol s temporary POV and we see the badasses and Morgan fighting. She looks in a ... Show more

because then, Morgan was like saying goodbye to her like it ll be the last time they ll see each

Understanding Of Local Area Network Technologies Essay
Final Report AS 91377 Demonstrate understanding of local area network technologies
Adam Major
Networking Concepts
describe what the user will mainly use a specific LAN for
A LAN network (Local Area Network) is an establishment created when clients or devices such as
computers and phones etc. with the right networking specifications allowing them to be connected
with each other using a common connecion such as Ethernet or wireless. This establishment allows
the sharing of resources from the device through the network and to the desired destination such as
another device e.g. Mobile phone, pc, tablet etc. all locally within the network by Ethernet etc. In
this scenario the LAN network is used for gaming where two computers connected to the same
network are trying to connect with each other to allow an established connection between the two
allowing data to be shared, effectively creating a game server. A user will mainly use a specific
LAN to share data between clients by pairing them together.
Ethernet is the most commonly used LAN technology. It is used to transmit data locally from the
network router and to devices manually connecting them to the network by wire using copper
cabling.

How effective are Foucault s methods, never intended for practical use, for Welch s liberation
theology? The purpose of this paper is to examine these questions and the accuracy of Welch s
treatment of Foucault s concepts by exploring the relevant works of Sharon Welch and the works of
Foucault referenced therein.
In Communities of Resistance and Solidarity, Welch presents an adamant argument for the
similarities between the work of Michel Foucault and the work of liberation theologians before
her. Welch claims not only to possess Foucault s suspicious awareness, or skepticism, as she
refers to it, but also claims its absolute necessity for her theology (85). She attempts to be true to
Foucault s methods: skepticism is the engine for the vehicle of continuing analyses. However,
Welch fails to acknowledge the radical nature of Foucault s concept of skepticism, as opposed to
the concept she utilizes for her theology. Foucault s is a drastic suspicion, a total and continuous
skepticism which repeatedly serves as an alarm to the genealogist. Its purpose is to make the
scholar cognizant of the undeniable link between power and knowledge. It is a reminder that there
exists no absolute Truth on which a discourse confidently may be established. In Madness and
Civilization: A History of Insanity in the Age of Reason, Foucault traces the history of what is
deemed the liberation of the insane in a manner which supports this theory. He documents the work

Masculinity in the Works of Herman Melville
Herman Melville s novels, with good reason, can be called masculine. Moby Dick may, also with
good reason, be called a man s book and that Melville s seafaring episode suggests a patriarchal, anti
feminine approach that adheres to the nineteenth century separation of genders. Value for
masculinity in the nineteenth century America may have come from certain expected roles males
were expected to fit in; I argue that its value comes from examining it not alone, but in relation to
and in concomitance with femininity. As Richard H. Brodhead put it, Moby Dickis so outrageously
masculine that we scarcely allow ourselves to do justice to the full scope of masculinism
(Brodhead 9). I concur with Brodhead in that remark, and that Melville s... Show more content on

Rather than conforming to aged, socially constructed masculine roles, Melville is challenging them
by concealing feminine characteristics in his most manly concepts; he is trying to take a man born
in once independent Man, and, in this novel, now [unman] Man (M D 391). [S]mall erections may
be finished by their first architects, Ishmael reflects to himself about the Cathedral of Cologne, but
grand ones, true ones, ever leave the copestone to posterity. God keep me from completing anything
(M D 125). Melville uses ancient architecture and constructions as phallic metaphors to imply that
they must remain incomplete if they are to remembered as grand and true . A chapter in which
gender sentiments are comically muddled is the chapter known as The Tail , where Melville
takes part in disassembling, at the same time celebrating, this obviously phallic symbol and uses
careful and also obvious language to stress its feminine, as well as masculine, qualities. In the tail
the confluent measureless force of the whole whale seems concentrated to a point (M D 294),
Melville describes what superficially sound as only be phallic and masculine qualities. However,
Melville does not allow the tail to be easily written off as overtly masculine. The tail s amazing
strength does not cripple the graceful flexion of its motions ; rather it

Theme Of Feminism In Oedipus And Medea
Feminism during the time of Oedipus and Medea centered on women actually trying to make
their voice known in the world. Today, the battle of the sexes continue; however, women have
already established their importance on society and focus fighting more for equality with men.
According to Loren Edelson s article The Trope of Transformation in Medea: A Noh Cycle, she
describes the difference between culture feminist and materialist feminism. The first focuses on
the women s roles in society while the other focuses on woman as a class oppressed by material
conditions and social relation (Edelson 59). Furthermore the feminism described in these tragedies
are expressed through their characteristics and how often they take part in the stories. In the time
of these tragedies, women were expected to be overruled by men with little or no authority over
the situations they faced in their life. Both of the main women in each of these stories live in a time
where the husbands are the ruler of the household, but these two women don t let them have all the
power. Both Oedipusthe King by Sophoclesand Medea by Euripideshighlight feminism, through the
women s characteristics, their drive, and their actions.
In Oedipus the King the main female character is Jocasta who is both Oedipus wife and mother.
Jocasta s character is considered a very distinct woman of her time, through the way she spoke her
mind and interfered in different situations, whereas, most women of her time

To What Extent Were The Social Policies Of The Idi Amin...
To what extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to
Uganda s colonial past? This is the question that this essay endeavors to answer as it scrutinizes the
social policies issued by Idi Amin Dada s administration throughout his eight year long reign over
Uganda. This essay will analyze the events of Idi Amins rule from 1971 to 1979 as a response to
the decade prior to Uganda s independence in 1962 and the interim period between them from
1962 to 1971. It is made apparent that Idi Amin s response to the issues within his society were by
in large fueled by the lingering distaste he had for the effects that British involvement in Ugandan
affairs had left on the nation. The British introduced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These origins stemmed from the late 19th century to the early 20th century when the British first
began to colonize Uganda with the help of Asians but didn t intensify until the fifties when classism
and racism became a growing issue. These concerns would grow potentially destructive in the
sixties when Britain worked alongside Idi Amin to overthrow Milton Obote and then a reality in
the 70 s when these issues were addressed with severity. Links between Idi Amin s ruthless social
policies and Uganda s colonial past became apparently negative which posed the query, to what
extent were these social policies a detrimental response? The focus of this piece is to illustrate
the extent to which Idi Amin s social policies, issued in varying degree from 1971 to 1979, served
as an overwhelmingly detrimental and negative response to a time when Britain ceased greater
control and influence over Uganda. It is noteworthy because it provides an answer and origin to a
nation that endured a dictatorship with a lack of ethical and substantial social reform for nearly a
decade. Instead a subservient military overtook the Ugandan parliament in an attempt to force a self
interested agenda upon its diverse population. The question to investigate then becomes, to what
extent were the social policies of the Idi Amin administration a detrimental response to Uganda s
colonial past?

In this study, the hook plate fixation was a good option for the treatment of Herscovici type A

In our study, those patients did not report any pain or discomfort at the surgical site probably since

Hendrix, the song is based around an altercation between himself and his long time lover Kathy

New England, Southern, And The Middle Colonies
The three English colonies were known as: New England, Southern, and the Middle colonies. The
colonies developed because economic and political institutions in the colonies were either
typically European or distinctively American. Climate, soil conditions, and other natural
resources shaped regional economic development in all the colonies. New England colonies
made big profits from trade. The Middle Colonies had large cities and excellent harbors along the
coasts. The merchants who lived in these growing cities exported cash crops, especially grain, and
imported manufactured goods. Because of its enormous trade, Philadelphia was the fastest
growing city throughout the colonies. The Southern colonies grew into prosperous colonies that
made large profits based on cash crops such as tobacco, indigo dye, and rice. The Southern
colonies were known for their high slave population and highly irregular social class distribution.
New England colonies were Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The
climate in New England colonies was colder than the other two colonies because they were the
farthest north. The natural resources were more important than agricultural crops to colonists in
New England because of poor, rocky soil and the short growing season. New England s natural
resources included fish, whales, trees and furs. New England believed religion and government
were tied together. They set up a covenant community with the mayflower

Compare And Contrast Samsung And Apple
When watching multiple commercials for comparable products, sometimes even back to back, they

Both Samsung and Apple are prominent phone makers, and most people either own one of their
phones, or know of them. While both companies have commercials that are both similar and
different from one another, even the ones that seem to be the most different have their ties that
make them more comparable than one may think. In Apple s commercial for the iPhone called

presenting their product to potential viewers. Despite this they are both related in that they are both
featuring one specific feature for their products, have a lighthearted tone, a central focus, and a
quick pace. Making each one entertaining to watch, even multiple times. Both commercials are
overall good and when looking at the similarities, these are what make the commercials even
more so. Apple s commercial simply called, Barbers, begins with the ad showing a barbershop
from the outside, and quickly goes to the inside where a man is getting his hair cut. While
another guy is sitting in one of the chairs he decides to take out his iPhone to take a picture once
the man is done. The barber then decides to put this picture on the window of the shop. This

The History of Celtic Music and Instruments
Throughout Celtic culture and history music is an extremely important aspect of life. The Celts had
a variety of instruments and holidays that they would play songs of joy and fun. Often times they
would call this music, Folk Music as it was mostly among the people of the nations of Ireland,
Wales, and Scotland. Continue for 2 3 sentences.
In Celtic culture several instruments were commonly used centuries ago in taverns and inns. The
lute is an ancient stringed instrument that is used very often in Traditional Celtic Folk Music. It

One special holiday that is celebrated by the Scottish is called The Turn of the Celtic Year and is
the changing of fall to winter and is celebrated by the Scottish. In an article written by John
Burnside it reads, At October s end, I found myself with an international group that began
discussing the different ways in which people observed Halloween, or All Saints Eve, or el DГa de
los Muertos, or as I pointed out to everyone s surprise the Scottish festival Samhuinn, which marks
the turn of the Celtic year and the beginning of winter. (Burnside, 2016). This shows that even
though the world may not know of certain holidays the Celts enjoyed celebrating at almost any
given moment. Saint Patrick s Day is a holiday that most of the world knows and enjoys as well
even though its origins come from Ireland. In an article written by Patrick Hicks known as
Shamrocks on a Prairie, it states, Whenever I mingle with Americans of Irish descent their
representation of the Emerald Isle usually feels like a colorful description of Atlantis. The Ireland
that many Irish Americans believe in the one they hoist pints to every Saint Patrick s Day is a
fantasy unmoored from reality. (Hicks,

The patient would be monitored and reported by the orthopaedic
team at RVI blinded about the treatment.
The patients haemoglobin and other parameters will be monitored by the blinded medical
team, the blood transfusion threshold will be Hb 8.0 mg/dl (as per institution policy).
Estimated blood loss will be calculated based on Hb drop, number of units of transfusion
using formula. Blood loss = Preop Hb (Postop Hb + Units Transfused) {where 1 unit = 315 mls}.
Primary outcome
The patients will be monitored until discharge and number of units of blood transfusion
starting from intra operative period will be recorded. Our aim is to investigate if tranexamic
acid reduces the rate intraoperative of post operative blood transfusion.
Secondary outcome
In addition, we will also document length of stay, compare mobility status in both groups,
estimate blood loss, identify the incidence on new vascular event (MI, CVA, PE, DVT) and
death.
Further the vascular events will be confirmed by teats objectively and by medical specialists.
Mycocardial infarction will be diagnosed by ECG changes, Troponin I levels and confirmed
physician review. The pulmonary embolism will be confirmed by CT pulmonary angiogram,

Audrey Hepburn s Influence On The Fashion Industry
Noted as the most emulated and admired style in the world, Audrey Hepburn managed to
balance comfort and simplicity to create a type of signature look (Lumiere, 2013). The style that
is still well known today was not made in a studio. Between the elegance Ms. Hepburn brought to
the table and the simple designs of Hubert de Givenchy, the rest of her characteristics seemed to
fall perfectly into place. Along with the excellent choices in movie roles and the outfits provided
by Givenchy, the only thing left to do was to make the movies that would preserve her name into
history. Starting with Sabrina, a romantic comedy in reverse, the outfits of Givenchy made their
first debut on Ms. Hepburn in this film (Murray, 2014). Ms. Hepburn paid for all... Show more

Daughter Of Smoke And Bone Summary
Reading Response #3: Daughter of Smoke and Bone, Making Connections Questioning
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is a fantasy book written by author Laini Taylor.
On the back of the book, as well as in the official plot summary, DOSAB is described as a story of
angels and demons, so I expected something about Heaven, Hell, etc. I typically don t enjoy books
based on religious mythology, but I had heard some good things about DOSAB, so I decided to
give it a shot. Based on the synopsis I had read, I was prepared for a book that fell into the same
categories as the disastrous Hush, Hush and Fallen series . The category being: Books I Have
Read But Will Live Until My Dying Day Swearing Up And Down I Never Touched. Other notable
books in this category include The Uglies series and Twilight.
Needless to say, my expectations were not high, but they could have been as tall as the CN
Tower and DOSAB would still have blown me away. Laini Taylor s beautiful writing strips the
overused angel and demon trope down to its bare bones and spins it into something new.
Morphing it into its own enthralling genre. To say this book is all about angels and demons would
be a severe injustice. To say this book is all about the mythology would be an injustice. This book
is about growing up, prejudice, truth, overcoming hardship and war. ... Show more content on

My head was bursting at the seams with raw emotion. Every emotion. What are you, Daughter of
Smoke and Bone? I thought. It had been a long time since I had read a book so thought
provoking and well written. DOSAB was also the first book in which the plot was so intricate and
thought out, with so many implications and subplots, that I had to take a moment after reading to
comprehend everything. My mind was so overrun, that for the first time I wasn t comprehending
what I was reading, as I was reading it. As you might guess, I ended up doing a lot of thinking

Eating Disorders In Sports Essay
Just like any person, eating disorders can have severe effects on the health of athletes. In fact,
athletes might be even more affected considering the fact that they often complete extreme
physical activity and are under heavy pressure while doing it. Usually, the main goal of an athlete
is to compete and train at their best and impress others as well as themselves. Sometimes, this goal
can leave the healthy zone and become unhealthy perfectionism. There are many signs and
symptoms in people and athletes to watch for regarding distorted eating. Athletes should be
especially watched as many sports can put a focus on achieving a certain body size, shape, and/or

Myofacial Pain Research Paper
Orofacial pain can affect people in a variety of ways; from minimal pain in which the person can
function normally throughout the day, to severe pain in which they need medical assistance. Dental
pain is the number one cause of orofacial pain, but in some instances, is not always the source of
the pain. The typical misdiagnosis happens when a patient complains of tooth pain, a root canal is
performed, and the patient still has pain. The pain itself may actually be originating from a number
of sources giving a differential diagnosis including but not limited to: myofascial toothache,
sinusitis, migraines, and oral cancer (Balasubramaniam, 2011).
Regarding myofascial tissues, there are typically muscle point triggers which can refer pain to the
oral area. There is thought to be a localized hyperexcitable nodule (Balasubramaniam, 2011) within
the muscle acting as the trigger point which then produces referred pain to a distant region. The
myofascial toothache has been described by patients as being non pulsatile, aching, continuous
(Balasubramaniam, 2011). Palpation of the trigger point is able to set off the seemingly dental pain.

Plato s Republic, written as a dialog, Plato s main speaker and his former teacher, is Socrates
throughout the work. In Republic we learn of Plato s Concepts of Justice, Virtue, and what is good.
Plato is considered one of the preeminent philosophers of his time and foremost contributors to the
studies of philosophy, political science, and psychology. His influences and works are the basis on
which many philosophers from ancient Greece to modern day use to construct their theories.
In the Republic, dialog between Socrates, Thrasymachus, and Glaucon convey to us what Plato
classifies as good and classes of good, and what is just and unjust. If we can describe what is just
and good we can better determine what is the best course of action. Plato describes, Justice as a
virtue, Justice is, at once a part of human virtue and the bond, which joins man together in
society. It is the identical quality that makes good and social. Justice is an order and duty of the
parts of the soul, it is to the soul as health is to the body. Plato says that justice is not mere
strength, but it is a harmonious strength. Justice is not the right of the stronger but the effective
harmony of the whole. All moral conceptions revolve about the good of the whole individual as
well as social. (Bhandari). So it can be said that what is just and good , in the Platonic sense, is
good for the individual as well as society. Plato then frames governance or the

Giorgio and Costantino had their first involvement in the family business during this period. By
the time the Bulgaris resumed business after the interruptions of World War I, the company had
completed its shift from an emphasis on silver to pricier bejeweled pieces. The store quickly
became a place where the world s rich and famous came for the unique, high quality jewelry
designs combining Greek and Roman art. After Sotirio died in 1932, his sons undertook an
extravagant remodeling of both the interior and the exterior of the Via Condotti store and formally
changed the company logo to BVLGARI, an application of the traditional Roman alphabet. The ВЈ2
million project took two years and featured the pink and beige Italian marble that would become
the worldwide hallmark of the firm s retail outlets. Giorgio s global gem sourcing travels
exposed him to the latest fashions in the then Paris based jewelry industry, while Costantino s
penchant for collecting ancient silver wares would later be a source of inspiration for the
company s adaptation of classical themes. Having latched onto style trends emanating from Paris,
Bulgari continued to follow the lead of what was then the world s jewelry capital throughout the
first half of the century. From inception to 1940 s: Era of the Art Deco Influence From its origins

Analysis Of Stanley Cohen s Folk Devils And Moral Panics
The term Moral Panic was an expression created by Stanley Cohen in his 1972 book Folk devils
and Moral Panics . Cohen, who was a sociology professor at the University of Essex in the 60s,
developed the concept of Moral Panic as a way to describe the media coverage of the violence that
spawned between two rival youth gangs (the Mods and the Rockers) and to explain the following
societal reaction to that era s adolescent sub culture.
Since then the term has been regularly used in the media to refer to all sorts of anti social and
criminal behaviours. The use of media can create unnecessary panic about a range of different
subjects, one of the most popular being drugs.
At around the same time as Cohen s original research and study, a man named Jock Young, another
sociologist and criminologist (and a co author with Cohen of later studies including The
Manufacture of News 1981), explored the moral panic that developed around the drug use of
hippies in the mid to late 60s.
In particular he researched and examined the social reaction to the use of marijuana in the
Notting Hill area of West London and described the process of deviance amplification which is a
process that occurs as a consequence of a moral panic over a specific type of behaviour. In a
nutshell, deviance amplification is reinforcing the effect that happens as a result of a negative
social reaction to such criminal or deviant behaviour (i.e, drug use) and this happens on a daily
basis in the media,

are very greedy and mean. The man meets the devil in a swamp, and he offers Tom treasure in
return for his soul. He refuses, and his wife, upon learning of the possible deal, attempts to make
the deal herself. The devil kills her, and Tom then decides to make the deal himself. He then spends
the rest of his life as a usurer and becomes very rich. However, he is still greedy and so the devil
takes him away one day and he is never seen again. The message presented in The Devil and Tom
Walker is about how greed leads to a bad life. This message is important because it shows people
that even if you re rich you won t necessarily be happy.

The Importance Of Chemical Kinetics
Chemical kinetics studies and determines the rate or speed at which chemical or physical processes
occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.). The rate of reaction is the speed at which the reactant in a
reaction transforms into products or the change in concentration of a chemical species over the time
taken for that change to occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Mack, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). Chemical
reactions occur at many different rates and in aqueous or equilibrium systems this rate is dependent
on the variables such as the reactivity of reagents, initial concentrations, temperature induced
fluctuations and any means of catalysis. (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). In order to
measure rate the change in concentration in a particular reaction must be determined as well as the
time of which this occurred. However studying the concentration at any time during a reaction is
problematic since the reaction must be stopped and a sample must be removed both which
negatively affect accuracy. One class of reactions that enables the change in concentration to be
observed at a particular time is clock reactions. Ina clock reaction an initial induction phase
precedes a significant change in concentration of a particular species. (Preece, King, Billingham,
1999). The rapid increase in concentration results in significant effects such as dramatic color
change. There are two types of clock reaction: 1. Induction where as small concentration grows till
it results in

  • 2. Swot Analysis Of Subway Abstract One of my first jobs a young adult was as a store manager for a local Subway restaurant. Subway is a franchise that has restaurants all over the United States and in several other countries. They operate the organization under a stable culture. I will use my personal experience and the five signs of organizational culture which include mission statement, stories and language, physical layout, rules and policies, and rituals to explain for the organization conveys its organizational culture. Mission Statement Subway s mission statement is Delight every customer, so they want to tell their friends with great value through fresh, delicious, made to order sandwiches, and an exceptional experience (Farfan, 2017). When reviewing the mission statement we can see that the customer service and value is of great importance to the organization. The mission statement reflects that the business is focused on attention to details and creating an experience that will keep customers coming back and referring others to their stores. The mission statement conveys to both the employees and the customers that they will have a stable culture. It does so by so by placing emphasis on quality control and constance. A stable culture is reflected here because Subway will use certain formulas, rules, and strict policies to make sure the customer gets the same excellent service and product at all of its stores. Rituals While working for Subway I had the opportunity to visit several locations. There are not a lot of rituals within the organization. Rituals refer to repetitive activities within an organization that have symbolic meaning (Carpenter, Bauer, Erdogan, 2012, P. 399). One ritual that is popular in most subway restaurants is a sandwich building speed test. After an employee had been employed for 90 days a manager would pick a sandwich off the menu and have the sandwich artist make it as fast as possible. The employee would be scored based on the time it took for them to assemble the sandwich, how closely they followed the build formula for that sandwich, proper length of the sandwich, and neatness of the product upon completion. This ritual reflects that stable culture in a way that this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Police have been given the responsibility to enforce the laws of a government and to ensure peace in the communities in which they operate. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the public gains knowledge of police misconduct in the line of duty, acts of protests, demonstrations, strikes and civil disobedience are conducted in response (Palmiotto, p.15) When police engage in behaviors that results in them improperly using the authority given to them to oppress, harm or kill individuals without legal justification, the spotlight tends to shine bright on the officer and their department. This creates unwanted complications for law enforcement administrators and can damagingly impact the agency s ability to carry out its mission. Improper application of force can degrade relationships with the community, disrupt the flow of control within the department, and result in the loss of manpower and financial resources due to legal fees and lawsuits launched by the victims of the excessive force. To prevent excessive use of force from occurring, departments have initiated guidelines for officers to adhere to when deciding to use force to subdue a suspect. These guidelines are a part of the use of force continuum. Use of Force Continuum The use of force continuum is what police agencies use to provide guidance to their departments on the application of force. The continuum takes in consideration the officers ability to handle a situation. If the officer is unable to handle the situation by using the minimum amount of force, then the officer can escalate to a greater level of force until the point of compliance.

  • 5. Compare Qualitative And Pragmatic Approach Abstract The purpose of this study is to compare qualitative and quantitative approaches to research investigation in social science. After further examination of the relevant literature, a pragmatic approach has also been taken into consideration within this paper. I will discuss in detail about human perception and assumption and the impact that this can have on research investigation. I will critically discuss and compare the epistemological differences of quantitative and qualitative research approaches with an additional focus on a mixed method approach. I will consider the strengths and weaknesses of the three approaches, the differences in the research design and methodologies and present a logical academic argument to detail my understanding. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Creswell (2003) refers to paradigms as worldviews which he believes to have four elements; post positivism, constructivism, transformative and pragmatic. Guba (1998) refers to positivism as a separate entity from other paradigms such as post positivism and constructivism. Tashakkori and Teddlie (1998) talk about those paradigms discussed by Guba with an addition of pragmatism and (Shadish, 1995) talks about the concept of logical positivism . Bryman (2004) refers to positivism and interpretivism and differentiates these from its variations; phenomenology and symbolic interactionism. To clarify and make myself feel slightly better Morgan (2007) explains that social scientists can talk about paradigms and each easily mean something entirely different. Morgan talks about four versions each version treating paradigms as shared belief system influencing the knowledge that researchers seek. He uses this concept of a paradigm as his main basis for discussion within his document. (Scotland, 2012) explains that different paradigms consist of differing ontological and epistemological views and therefore present differing assumptions of reality and knowledge which is embedded within their research approach. Kuhn (1970) details paradigms as epistemological stances which influences how research questions are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Hillary Clinton Compare And Contrast Have you seen the presidential debates lately? Hillary and Donald have been strongly arguing over who should become the next United States president. The two candidates have pretty valid points and both want to work on certain topics. They will agree and disagree on different topics as well, but who is fit to be president? There are two significant topics that the two have spoken about, climate change and abortion, so who has more reasonable policies and opinions on these topics, Hillary or Donald? If I could vote, I would vote for Hillary Clinton because she has a lot of political experience and great changes to make. 68 year old Hillary Diane Clinton graduated from Yale University in 1973, then later served as the first lady of the U.S. from 1993 to 2001. From 2001 to 2009, Clinton served as a U.S. senator and is now rich as of being a presidential candidate with many, many votes. She s had quite a bit of political experience. Donald John Trump is a billionaire who graduated from Fordham University in 1966, and Wharton school in the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Trump starred in a hit reality TV show called The Apprentice, with not much political experience. Just knowing these facts, who do you think would be a better president? Climate Change... • 7. The Theory Of Utilitarianism And Rule Utilitarianism Have you eaten breakfast this morning? Put on clean clothes? Did you have a bed to sleep in at the end of your day? For millions of less fortunate around the world, the answer to those questions is no. Knowing this is true, can you continue to go about your day and claim to be a moral and ethical person? In order to obtain the greatest pleasure for the greatest number of people, it is clear that you in order to uphold your moral duty; you must contribute to those experiencing poverty. When applying this concept to the consequentialist theory of utilitarianism, it is important to first examine the difference between act utilitarianism and rule utilitarianism. As Mosser explains, act utilitarianism tells us that we must question what single act would generate the greatest good. Whereas, rule utilitarianism evaluates the actions themselves and determines what would produce an outcome that institutes the greatest good. (2013 sec. 6.1) From an act utilitarian standpoint, say you had a hundred dollars to spend lavishly. If you purchased the designer shirt you have been looking at for weeks, you would definitely be happy, you would make the person selling the shirt happy, and you would make the company making the shirt happy. Yet, if you were to give the same hundred dollars to charity and it fed a family for a week, gave them new clothing, the medicine they needed, and better shelter this action would outweigh your pleasure from the shirt you purchased. Yield may have been lost because the crystals formed too quickly, causing some of them to be small in size and seep through the filter and into the filtrate. 15) The percent recovery of 55.7% makes sense. The recovery is lower than 100% because the product contained impurities before it was recrystallized, which made it heavier in mass. After recrystallization, these impurities were removed, causing the final pure product to have less mass. These impurities were confirmed to exist through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Modern Funerals In The Modern Funeral The modern funeral is something that everybody experiences either through death of an acquaintance or by direct necessity to arrange a funeral yet so many people know so little about funerals and the industry behind it. This lack of knowledge is the main cause of consumer s issues with the modern funeral. Arranging a funeral is at least problematic and in most cases is a harrowing experience. This clearly indicates that fundamental problems exist in the funeral industry. The funeral should be a hallowed event but is one overshadowed by the depressing and stressful ordeal of arrangement. A majority of these issues could be resolved if the general public knew about funerals but unfortunately this knowledge is not common and has many affects on the consumer. The average consumer knows almost nothing about the average funeral in the United States, even the most common things, such as embalming. Embalming is a method of preserving a dead body. This is an oddly grotesque method is the standard in the United States. This indicates that this process has had the largest effect on the funeral industry and this is certainly true. Embalming is something that has formed the American funeral industry since its proliferation since the American Civil War. This is also why the funeral industry in the United States is vastly different than almost anywhere else in the world. In Europe an American funeral is seen as a very strange ritual. • 11. The Book Of Revelation By John When He Was On The Isle Of... The book of Revelation was written by John when he was on the Isle of Patmos. This book is the only book in the Bible that is made up entirely of apocalyptic writing. Revelation appeals to the imagination and provokes visions of the coming of the Lord. There are many symbols and numbers found in the scriptures that are significant to end times. This book is revealing to us what will happen in the latter days when God will bring the world to an end. The judgement is contained in a scroll that is seven times sealed and only the Lamb is worthy to open and read it (Knowles 701). The phrase seven sealsrefers to the seven symbolic seals that secure the book and when the Lamb broke each seal, a judgement is released or an apocalyptic event occurs. The opening of the first seal is described in Revelation 6:1 2, And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer. (The Thompson Chain Reference Bible, King James Version, Revelation 6:1 2). According to Matthew Henry, the white horse signifies purity. It was during a time when the Heavenly Father sent his witnesses to teach all nations. • 12. Ancient Ghana Research Paper Joseph Purvis Mr Herb P5/HL(9) 01/10/2017 How To Eat In Ancient Ghana How to eat in ancient Ghana. The Ancient Ghana civilization lasted from about 300 1200 A.D.. The Ancient country lies in Western Africa where the modern countries of Mali, Mauritania, and Senegal are today (Kingdom of Ghana). The people of Ghana ate what they could provide by farming. They farmed crops such as corn and rice. The Niger river ,which cut across ancient Ghana, flooded like the Nile during the rainy season bringing water and nutrients to their fields (Social Aspects of Ancient Ghana) . They raised animals such as Goats, chickens, and sheep to eat. The people mostly ate several different types of soup with fufu, plantain, bread, rice, and potatoes. The soups were nut based with different meats such as fish, mutton, goat, or chicken added (Ancient Ghana Environment). Fufu is the african equivalent to mashed potatoes. It normally accompanies soup or a meat with gravy. Fufu is rolled up into balls then a indenture is made. It is then used to scoop up soup or gravy. In Central Africa Fufu is made out of cassava tubers (Fufu). Cassava tubers are starchy roots from the spurge family (Euphorbiaceae) of plants (Cassava Nutrition Facts and Health Benefits). • 13. Analysis Of Theodor W. Adorno s The about the world around us, even just for a moment. This boldly claims a kind of autonomy for art, but one that is distinct from Theodor W. Adorno s conception and more in line with the affirmative notions the aesthetic impulse. As such, the kind of aesthetics that I am eluded to here is not just a state of contemplation. It is much more. As Cramerotti describes in his aforementioned essay, it is rather the capacity of an art form to put our sensibility in motion, and convert what we feel about nature and the humanrace into a concrete (visual or bodily) experience . It is useful to introduce Deleuze s categories of the actual and the virtual and put them into motion. In his 1968 text Difference and Repetition , Deleuze explains that the virtual is not opposed to the real; it possesses a full reality by itself. The process it undergoes is actualisation. It would be wrong to see only a verbal despite here: it is a question of existence itself . Deleuze s category of the virtual , the realm of affects and Paterson s documents of darkness are united in their intangibility and their capacity to move the spectator beyond the familiar. Collectively, these forces harness the ability to transport the viewer to another time and place. In his 1992 text Chaosmosis: An Ethico Aesthetic Paradigm , Guattari describes this capacity as an ethico aesthetic paradigm, which pertains to subjectivity as well as art. He argues that new complexes of subjectivation become possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The newspaper was centrally focused on Canadian rights and independence, specifically sovereignty from the British colonial government. Originating in modern day Quebec, (then called Lower Canada) this independence movement was sparked by a rebellion against the Crown by the Parti patriote , or Patriote Party and their followers from 1837 to 1838. The cause of the Quebec Rebellions of 1837 was the result of longstanding disputes about the nature of the British colonial government, a serious economic depression, and the growth of an urban Anglophone population. The rebellion was short lived and quickly put down by the Lower Canadian/British colonial government. Following the failed insurrection, many rebels sought refuge in the town of Swanton, Vermont not only due to its proximity to the border to Canada but also due to the fact that the town held many American supporters of the movement as well. The primary focus of the paper was specifically to highlight the injustices against the Parti Patriote by the colonial government including highlighting the individuals who had been imprisoned, banished or killed. On the first page of each issue of North American is a section entitled People of Canada! Remember that the blood of martyrs in the cause of FREEDOM calls aloud for vengeance at your hands. The following is a list of those who have fallen victims of despotism, in the Lower Province . Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more than 11 million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to a fatigued crew, a lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an inadequate ship design. The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill prevention and response improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound. On 22 March 1989, the Exxon Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers drove into town the following morning with William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading the ship through the Valdez Narrows. Taking place in the early 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi, the perspective of (mainly) two middle aged negro maids (Aibileen Clark and Minny Jackson) were recorded in hopes of setting truth free. Miss Eugenia ( Skeeter ) Phelan, hopeful to be a journalist, claimed that black lives were not as pleasant as portrayed, therefore she desired to reveal the truth behind their lives through a book of interviews. Being exposed to horror movies at a young age by one s parents can make a child fearful, or give them an appreciation for movies and what makes them scary. Likewise, being introduced to comedy at a young age can mold a child s taste in humor or appreciation for the genre. Shale Gas Of Ammonium And Ethylene Shale Gas to Ammonium and Ethylene Nikita Cardenas, Lucas Freiberg, James Watkins, Heitor Almeida Rogerio RA2 Main Goals: We are interested in using our shale gas stream, which we currently sell as heating fuel, to create another product of value. We are considering taking the shale gas and producing anhydrous ammonia, urea, ammonia sulfate, and ethylene. The main goal is to make a greater profit from our shale gas by selling it as more valuable products rather than solely heating fuel. Specific objectives and requirements: This project aims to create valuable products from natural gas extracted from shale formations. The shale gas feed entering the process contains mostly hydrocarbons that can be transformed into a variety of value added chemicals, but it also contains impurities that must be removed. Carbon dioxide is useful in the chemical reactions utilized to convert hydrocarbons into hydrogen gas (in order to create ammonia), but at 8 mole percent, the concentration of CO2 in our feed will dilute the shale gas and may cause corrosion. Hydrogen sulfide is not only hazardous to health and corrosive to pipelines, but also destroys metal catalysts used in the processes downstream. These impurities can be removed using a variety of separations techniques. Once removed, however, sulfur should not be considered a waste product. It can be collected and used in ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Depending of the desired quality of gas, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moby Dick may, also with good reason, be called a man s book and that Melville s seafaring episode suggests a patriarchal, anti feminine approach that adheres to the nineteenth century separation of genders. Value for masculinity in the nineteenth century America may have come from certain expected roles males were expected to fit in; I argue that its value comes from examining it not alone, but in relation to and in concomitance with femininity. As Richard H. Brodhead put it, Moby Dickis so outrageously masculine that we scarcely allow ourselves to do justice to the full scope of masculinism (Brodhead 9). A chapter in which gender sentiments are comically muddled is the chapter known as The Tail , where Melville takes part in disassembling, at the same time celebrating, this obviously phallic symbol and uses careful and also obvious language to stress its feminine, as well as masculine, qualities. Today, the battle of the sexes continue; however, women have already established their importance on society and focus fighting more for equality with men. According to Loren Edelson s article The Trope of Transformation in Medea: A Noh Cycle, she describes the difference between culture feminist and materialist feminism. The first focuses on the women s roles in society while the other focuses on woman as a class oppressed by material conditions and social relation (Edelson 59). Furthermore the feminism described in these tragedies are expressed through their characteristics and how often they take part in the stories. In the time of these tragedies, women were expected to be overruled by men with little or no authority over the situations they faced in their life. Hook Plate Fixation Case Study In this study, the hook plate fixation was a good option for the treatment of Herscovici type A and B fractures because of the good and excellent outcome in all the patients: high union rate and no major complications were observed during follow up. No hardware removal due to irritation from the plate was needed. The mean union time was similar to those reported previously [8, 14 15] in which hook plate were used to repair fractures efficiently and reported limited discomfort. Written by Jimi Hendrix, the song is based around an altercation between himself and his long time lover Kathy Mary Etchingham. The sixties was a defining decade for experimental music, fueled by the drugs musicians were taking at the time. Rock n Roll was a worldwide phenomenon and Jimi Hendrix became one of the main pioneers of the rock/psychedelic movement. The Middle Colonies had large cities and excellent harbors along the coasts. The merchants who lived in these growing cities exported cash crops, especially grain, and imported manufactured goods. Because of its enormous trade, Philadelphia was the fastest growing city throughout the colonies. The Southern colonies grew into prosperous colonies that made large profits based on cash crops such as tobacco, indigo dye, and rice. The Southern colonies were known for their high slave population and highly irregular social class distribution. New England colonies were Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The climate in New England colonies was colder than the other two colonies because they were the farthest north. Both Samsung and Apple are prominent phone makers, and most people either own one of their phones, or know of them. While both companies have commercials that are both similar and different from one another, even the ones that seem to be the most different have their ties that make them more comparable than one may think. In Apple s commercial for the iPhone called Barber, and Samsung s Galaxy S7 commercial featuring Lil Wayne, each has their own style in presenting their product to potential viewers. Despite this they are both related in that they are both featuring one specific feature for their products, have a lighthearted tone, a central focus, and a quick pace. On the back of the book, as well as in the official plot summary, DOSAB is described as a story of angels and demons, so I expected something about Heaven, Hell, etc. I typically don t enjoy books based on religious mythology, but I had heard some good things about DOSAB, so I decided to give it a shot. Based on the synopsis I had read, I was prepared for a book that fell into the same categories as the disastrous Hush, Hush and Fallen series . The category being: Books I Have Read But Will Live Until My Dying Day Swearing Up And Down I Never Touched. Other notable books in this category include The Uglies series and Twilight. Needless to say, my expectations were not high, but they could have been as tall as the CN Tower and DOSAB would still have blown me away. Laini Taylor s beautiful writing strips the overused angel and demon trope down to its bare bones and spins it into something new. Morphing it into its own enthralling genre. The typical misdiagnosis happens when a patient complains of tooth pain, a root canal is performed, and the patient still has pain. The pain itself may actually be originating from a number of sources giving a differential diagnosis including but not limited to: myofascial toothache, sinusitis, migraines, and oral cancer (Balasubramaniam, 2011). Regarding myofascial tissues, there are typically muscle point triggers which can refer pain to the oral area. There is thought to be a localized hyperexcitable nodule (Balasubramaniam, 2011) within the muscle acting as the trigger point which then produces referred pain to a distant region. • 52. Analysis Of Stanley Cohen s Folk Devils And Moral Panics The term Moral Panic was an expression created by Stanley Cohen in his 1972 book Folk devils and Moral Panics . Cohen, who was a sociology professor at the University of Essex in the 60s, developed the concept of Moral Panic as a way to describe the media coverage of the violence that spawned between two rival youth gangs (the Mods and the Rockers) and to explain the following societal reaction to that era s adolescent sub culture. Since then the term has been regularly used in the media to refer to all sorts of anti social and criminal behaviours. The use of media can create unnecessary panic about a range of different subjects, one of the most popular being drugs. At around the same time as Cohen s original research and study, a man named Jock Young, another sociologist and criminologist (and a co author with Cohen of later studies including The Manufacture of News 1981), explored the moral panic that developed around the drug use of hippies in the mid to late 60s. In particular he researched and examined the social reaction to the use of marijuana in the Notting Hill area of West London and described the process of deviance amplification which is a process that occurs as a consequence of a moral panic over a specific type of behaviour. In a nutshell, deviance amplification is reinforcing the effect that happens as a result of a negative social reaction to such criminal or deviant behaviour (i.e, drug use) and this happens on a daily basis in the media, ... • 54. The Importance Of Chemical Kinetics Chemical kinetics studies and determines the rate or speed at which chemical or physical processes occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.). The rate of reaction is the speed at which the reactant in a reaction transforms into products or the change in concentration of a chemical species over the time taken for that change to occur (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Mack, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). Chemical reactions occur at many different rates and in aqueous or equilibrium systems this rate is dependent on the variables such as the reactivity of reagents, initial concentrations, temperature induced fluctuations and any means of catalysis. (Oliver,n.d.)(Jircitano, n.d.)(Blackburn,n.d.). In order to measure rate the change in concentration in a particular reaction must be determined as well as the time of which this occurred. However studying the concentration at any time during a reaction is problematic since the reaction must be stopped and a sample must be removed both which negatively affect accuracy. One class of reactions that enables the change in concentration to be observed at a particular time is clock reactions. Ina clock reaction an initial induction phase precedes a significant change in concentration of a particular species. (Preece, King, Billingham, 1999). The rapid increase in concentration results in significant effects such as dramatic color change. There are two types of clock reaction: 1. Induction where as small concentration grows till it results in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
