To highlight the major changes adopted in New National
Education Policy of India 2020.
To Compare the National Education Policy 2020 with National
Policy on Education 1986.

NEP 2020, a fascinating blueprint in shaping new India.
Emphasis on experiential learning, social engagement skills,
critical thinking, and research mindset.
Develops a common understanding across all institutions of
education.
Doubling the budget from 3 % to 6 % showed the seriousness
of purpose.

National Education Policy 2020
It was launched on July 29, 2020 after 34 years of old
Education Policy.
The name of Ministry of Human Resource Development has
been changed to Ministry of Education, India.
It is formed on the foundational pillars of “Access, Equity,
Quality, Affordability, and Accountability.”
Vision, “NEP 2020 envisions an India-centric education system
that contributes directly to transforming our nation sustainably
into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing
high-quality education to all.”
Right to Education (RTE) act has been extended from class 8th
to class 12th.
National Education Policy 2020
Education Sector will get 6% of GDP.
Internationalization of High Performing Indian Institutions &
Selected universities among the top 100 in the world, may
operate in India.
At least 1 large multidisciplinary Institution in or near every
district by the year 2030.
Higher Education Council of India (HECI) will be setup to
regulate Higher Education.
National Research Foundation to be established to foster a
strong research culture.
An Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) will be set up which will
digitally store the academic credits earned.

50% Gross Enrolment Ratio by 2035. 26.3% Gross Enrolment Ratio in 2018.

Conclusion
The NEP 2020 is a commendable step by the government to
achieve the goal of providing quality education and having a
skillful, talented & professional youth population.
It also lies emphasis on learning and preserving traditional
languages like Sanskrit in India which are losing their
importance.
It will give importance on practical knowledge of students &
will focus on Skill development.
NEP 2020 will bring out of school children back into
mainstream.
Help the students for learning core competencies by their
choice.
Self-assessment will help the students to know themselves in a
better way.
Now Foundation stage in school education is now compulsory
Board Examination will made easier as they are in both
objective & descriptive.
Participation in Extra curricular activities by students during
Higher education.

Literature Review NEP 2020, a fascinating blueprint in shaping new India. Emphasis on experiential learning, social engagement skills, critical thinking, and research mindset. Develops a common understanding across all institutions of education. Doubling the budget from 3 % to 6 % showed the seriousness of purpose.

National Education Policy 2020 It was launched on July 29, 2020 after 34 years of old Education Policy. The name of Ministry of Human Resource Development has been changed to Ministry of Education, India. It is formed on the foundational pillars of “Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and Accountability.” Vision, “NEP 2020 envisions an India-centric education system that contributes directly to transforming our nation sustainably into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high-quality education to all.” Right to Education (RTE) act has been extended from class 8th to class 12th.

National Education Policy 2020 Education Sector will get 6% of GDP. Internationalization of High Performing Indian Institutions & Selected universities among the top 100 in the world, may operate in India. At least 1 large multidisciplinary Institution in or near every district by the year 2030. Higher Education Council of India (HECI) will be setup to regulate Higher Education. National Research Foundation to be established to foster a strong research culture. An Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) will be set up which will digitally store the academic credits earned.

Academic Structure- 5+3+3+4 Academic Structure- 10+2 Age Break up- 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, 14-18 years Age Break up- 6-16, 16-18 years Pre school to be added in KVs Starts from class 1st in KVs Board Exams Twice a year – Objective & Descriptive Board Exams once a year- Descriptive No hard separation Streams division - Arts, Commerce & Science 360⁰ Holistic Report Card reviewed by Self, Teachers, Parents & Peers.   • 16. The NEP 2020 is a commendable step by the government to achieve the goal of providing quality education and having a skillful, talented & professional youth population. It also lies emphasis on learning and preserving traditional languages like Sanskrit in India which are losing their importance. It will give importance on practical knowledge of students & will focus on Skill development. NEP 2020 will bring out of school children back into mainstream. Help the students for learning core competencies by their choice. Self-assessment will help the students to know themselves in a better way.
  • 17. Now Foundation stage in school education is now compulsory Board Examination will made easier as they are in both objective & descriptive. Participation in Extra curricular activities by students during Higher education.
