Un nuevo informe del Banco Mundial, titulado La movilidad económica y el crecimiento de la clase media en América Latina, destaca el contundente crecimiento de ese segmento de la población durante los últimos 10 años.
Tras décadas de estancamiento, la clase media de la región creció de 103 millones de personas en 2003 a 152 millones en 2009, un salto del 50 por ciento.
El informe, el último de la Oficina del Economista Jefe para América Latina y el Caribe, explora las razones de este crecimiento y sus efectos en el futuro económico de la región.
Este tema será debatiod en una conversación en vivo por la web que se cumplirá este martes, a las 12.00 del mediodía, hora de la ciudad de Washington, con motivo de la presentación del informe especial La movilidad económica y el crecimiento de la clase media en América Latina.
El evento contará con la presencia del presidente del Banco Mundial, Jim Yong Kim y el economista en jefe para América Latina y el Caribe Augusto de la Torre, señaló la web del Banco Mundial.
SÍNTESIS Para el Banco Mundial:
• 30 por ciento de la población de América latina pertenece a sectores pobres,
• 38 por ciento a “vulnerables”,
• 30 por ciento a la clase media
• 2 por ciento restante son ricos.
De 1995 a 2010 la pobreza bajó del 44 al 30 por ciento.
• 40 por ciento de los hogares ascendieron de “clase socioeconómica”.
La mayoría de los pobres que ascendieron no se integraron directamente a la clase media, sino que pasaron a formar parte de los “vulnerables”, que actualmente es el sector social más numeroso de la región.
El porcentaje de pobres igualó al de la clase media, cuando hace diez años era 2,5 veces superior.

Exclusive to TechHi, our guaranteed retainer service offers a money-back guarantee in
writing, if we are unsuccessful in filling the assigned position within 90 business days. Our
90-day search duration guarantees that we give your assignment the utmost attention.
• Fee rate of 30% of compensation package
• 1/3 fee payable at commencement of search

Contingency Search
