The radio show host reviewed their commercial radio show and identified several areas for improvement. They could have had a longer introduction and spoken louder and closer to the microphones. They also needed to time the transitions between songs better so they did not fade out the first song too early or start the second song too abruptly. When introducing songs, they should say the name before rather than after inserting a jingle. They also accidentally used the wrong jingle once. The host notes that chatting about songs and celebrities helps add personality but they could have planned more and not talked over each other as much. Overall, the show had a good mix of new and familiar songs for their target audience.

1. Commercial Radio Show Review
After reviewing my radio show me and Emily could have improved quite a few things.
Our introduction could have been longer and louder maybe spoke about our show
more also overall we could have spoken maybe closer to the microphone or louder
because some parts you really have to listen to hear what we are saying.
I noticed at the end of the first few songs we fade it out too early we needed to wait
until it started to go off itself before starting the next song because it sounds horrible
when the second song comes on all of a sudden whilst we were fading the first song
out slowly start he second song we did it right on a few but we needed it right on all
of them for example pumped up kicks and tightrope sounded fine.
On introducing the songs we should say it before the song and not put a jingle In
between so you know what’s coming on straight after also one mistake we made was
putting the wrong jingle in should have been paying attention to what we were using
but it was only the once.
The chat section after one or two songs that actually relates to the song was good
but makes sure we have turn the song down enough to hear us talking straight after
another good thing was not announcing every single song before and doing some
after two songs have played because the listener wants to hear the music more.
When we talk about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West about their baby North West
and we joke about Alicia Keys calling her kid car its adds humour and gives us a
personality and gives a break from just playing music it give us a chance to talk and
have our own say on things also the chat about the celebrities is purposely sarcastic
when we laugh at the Tom Daley joke because It clearly wasn’t funny when gold
digger fades out and Emily starts to speak its good how clear and quick It is we
needed to plan more about what we were going to say because I mess up and say
‘erm’ a few times which if I knew what I was going to say it would of sounded a lot
better also planned what each of us was going to say because we slightly talk over
each other and it makes it hard to understand what we are saying, and I could of
spoke louder also.
The good points is how clear and loud Emily speaks its more natural and the talking
between us both doesn’t sound too forced or fake, also I think it’s good for our target
audience who is drive time and recurrent music it’s a few new songs also mixed with
more popular older songs which everyone knows. Lastly is the outro which we could
have said a lot more and not ended it so fast maybe added more talking like asking
for feedback from the listeners.
