There are four main types of color: additive, primary, secondary, and pigment. Color can also be described using various color models including RGB, CMYK, HSB, and LAB. RGB uses red, green, and blue phosphors; CMYK uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks; and HSB describes hue, saturation, and brightness. Web colors are specified using a six-digit hexadecimal code representing RGB values. Additional resources for learning about color are provided.
