2. Colombina´s origin
Colombina S.A was founded in 1927 by Hernando
Caicedo from the department of Valle del Cauca.
He took advantage the natural and agricultural wealth of
the department for their temperature and fertility soil, to
produce candy's tropical fruit.

April 18th ,1890 - March 8 ,1966
He was born in Palmira, Valle del Cauca in 1890.
Studied at the University of Cauca, Colombia in law school.
He was also an influential Journalist .
• Recognized as one of the pioneers of the industry of
sugar cane and production of candies.
• Founder of Riopaila and Colombina S.A.
In 1927, Hernando found that a mixture of fruit flavors with
sugar with this discovery was created Colombina S.A.
