American Psycho vs. Wall Street
The Reagan 80s , a Wall Street bull market and excess for the sake of excess. During this decade, the
economy was coming out of a severe recession after 1982 and it exploded shortly thereafter. It seemed
out of nowhere, people were getting rich by investing in the stock market. The 80 s was the decade of
the corporate raiders. Powerful, money hungry investors would buy companies when their values were
on the line and dismantle them, selling off the assets piece by piece and becoming filthy rich off of it.
Clearly, these investors had to have had the education and long career in the financial industry in order
to have the knowledge to pull off maneuvers like this. This whole idea of excess that ran rampant in
the 80s leads us to ask ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was the victim of the burgeoning culture of the politically correct. I had more money than I knew
what to do with. It was the year of being hated.
Wall Street has been touted as one of the most accurate portrayals of Wall Street culture and recently
spawned a sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The character of Gordon Gekko and his obsession
with greed is still prevalent today, especially during the fall of Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns in
2008. Many of the executives of those firms as well as Wall Street executives in general were referred
to as being the Gordon Gekkos of our generation. Most news coverage regarding government
intervention in the economy has been about Wall Street intervention as of the past few years. There are
so many events in American Psycho that have been left open to interpretation, but the most popular
being that Bret Easton Ellis was commenting on morality within society and its obsession with vanity
and greed. Wall Street is a much more straightforward text which shows the deep roots of greed in the
business world. Oliver Stone modeled Gekko after several notorious Wall Street executives who were
arrested for trading scandals as well as his father (who was a stock broker) and himself. Both
characters (Gordon Gekko and Patrick Bateman) were developed so that they have no redeeming
qualities (especially Patrick Bateman). One of the big controversies over American Psycho was how

Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Vpns
Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Virtual Private Networks
Electronic technology is growing at a rapid rate; more devices are made mobile and wireless, but with
those improvement and developments come flaws and malicious opportunities. Cyber attacks are on
the rise and no system or device is immune. Many organizations employ multiple layers of firewalls
but that doesn t completely eliminate the threat. Attacks against firewalls and virtual private networks
or VPNs are constantly being exploited with new methods everyday, but they are yet another obstacle
that a cyber criminal must overcome. First let s discuss what a firewall is and what a firewall is
capable of doing. Firewall applications are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, many firewalls come with so many rules or policies that they can counteract the
security desired and create loopholes for network threats or actually block traffic that is desired or
requested by the user. These issues make it really important to understand how all rules and policies in
the firewall work and how to apply them. Another tool often used for secure reasons and also as a
reliable method to share information remotely is called a Virtual Private Network or VPN. Henry
describes A VPN as a group of computers (or discrete networks) networked together over a public
network namely, the internet (para 3, 2012). Basically, it s a private network created to allow remote
access through a public network. Most often you will see that employees on airplanes or in a public
place that will require and utilize these VPNs to access their business resources for all kinds of
information, but some people just use it as a means to use their network without physically
compromising the actual systems. A good VPN can provide many functions such as access anywhere
worldwide without dedicated lines, data security, remote access to business resources and better
employee production. For these VPNs to perform these functions properly they are required to provide
reliability by ensuring that the network does not break down before reaching its max capacity,
scalability to ensure the ability to expand as business grows, and of

Earnings Quality Assessment
Abstract A quality of earning assessment is a tool used by analyst to determine the correlation between
accounting income and economic income. The techniques to analyze accounting income and

Guerrilla Warfare Vs Vietcong
Prior to the start of Second Indochina war, the United States had been teaching the South Vietnamese
armies tactics in order to defeat the North Vietnamese guerillas. They would use these military tactics
while executing search and destroy missions as well as clear and hold missions. Search and Destroy
mission would involve South Vietnamese troops along with United States troops covertly entering into
a Vietnamese village, searching for the Vietcong. Once they found the suspected Vietcong, they would
destroy them then retreat back to base. The clear and hold method was very similar except they would
drive the enemy forces from the village then occupy it afterward. Both of these tactics were a part of
an overall campaign named Strategic Hamlet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Vietcong became experts in this type of warfare know as guerrilla warfare. Guerrilla warfare was
termed coined during the Peninsular War by the Duke of Wellington but become popular with the rise
of Communism and Marxism which called for the proletariat (lower class) to rise up against the
bourgeoisie (upper class). Since lower class peasants could not stand a chance against conventional
armies with tanks, helicopters, planes and artillery; they were forced to use cheap but effective tactics
to kill the enemy. This type of irregular fighting is used against orthodox, conventional type opponents
and the Vietnam war proved the effectiveness of guerrilla warfare. One guerrilla warfare tactic that
proved to be highly effective for the Vietcong was using booby traps in order to kill or wound the
enemy without being nearby for retaliation. The Vietcong would conceal hardened bamboo sticks
smothered in poison known as Punji Sticks, underneath a weak platform covered in sticks and leaves,
that would give out if stepped on. Once stepped on, the platform would give out and a US soldier
would fall into the Punji sticks which would pierce his body. Other traps included land mines that
would blow up once stepped on and tripwire grenades that would blow up once a soldier stepped on
the wire. Overall these boobytraps accounted for 11% of US casualties in the Vietnam war. Beyond
traps, the Vietcong would use other guerilla warfare tactics such as the hit and run strategy. During a
hit and run the Vietcong would attack US forces by ambushing them then exiting before artillery or air
support could be called in by predetermined routes. The Vietcong also used a strategy called the shoot
and scoot strategy which involved the Vietcong attacking US military bases with artillery or mortars
then moving the equipment to a new location before the US can

Hunt For The Wilderpeople Builds On Waititi s Drama Essay
Hunt for the Wilderpeople builds on Waititi s drama/comedy combination and further cements his
auteur status. Wilderpeople is about an orphan boy who moves from one foster family to another,
generally being a delinquent. This causes him to earn the title of a real bad egg. The majority of the
film takes place as Ricky Baker is on the run through the vast forest. While structurally different from
Boy, both films deal with coming of age, parents, and loneliness. Wilderpeople is explicitly divided up
into ten chapters and an epilogue, while still being a somewhat causally driven film (Boy is more
episodic). Since Wilderpeople relies more on a causal narrative, it seems more like a standard
Hollywood film at first (especially with the action packed finale). But Waititi finds a way to make it
his own. The use of chapters allows him to jump ahead without losing the audience and so he s able to
tell a larger story with his signature zippy style. Adding onto that, he again relies on montages to
quickly tell bits and pieces of narrative in humorous ways and uses those techniques to highlight
character subjectivity. And again, he carefully exaggerates his characters to add comedy to otherwise a
serious topic. Finally, nature is once more of paramount importance. It s to Waititi s credit that
Wilderpeople feels like a very different beast to Boy but also is recognizably a film by him.
A film full of quirky, funny montages is a clear sign of a Waititi film. And unsurprisingly,

There is a stigma surround the idea of female leaders and their competency, a stigma that is

situation demands different styles of leadership. Leadership is about understanding others, believing in
yourself and work with others to lead your company or business to new level of success. Management
is the functional body which guides and instructs people engaged in an organization to achieve the

No Woman Fighting on the Front Line Essay
Men and women we are the same. We may have different body parts different emotions but women
shouldn t be treated any different. We do live in a free country; shouldn t we have the freedom to
choose what job we want? Women have rights whether it s the right to bear arms or fight front row in
combat. Thousands of women are fighting for their country whether it is in the Air force, Army, or
military. The one thing women can t do is fight in the front row of combat. Why? Because men don t
think we are strong enough. I say women should stand back and fight for their rights. All women
should be able to fight in combat because men aren t always emotionally stable, to further support
women s rights and they are no different than men.

The argument is that women can t handle being on the front line in combat because they aren t as
physically or mentally capable as men. ( EDITORIAL: Women Have . Right to Fight for Freedom ).
In fact 87% of women already fight in military services, just not in the front row. Fighting in the front
row in combat should not have to deal with being emotionally unstable. I thought women and men
were supposed to be treated equally.
Women are no different than men. I mean sure men are way bigger and stronger but I ve seen women
that are also very strong. Women were put in war just to be nurses. Women couldn t even be a doctor

that will damage the cohesion of combat units. If they were put in combat. Women are still being

Theme Of Symbolism In Sea Of The Sea
The novel is rich in symbolism that enhances both the plot and the Themes. The major symbol is the
sea, which stands for all of life on which man must sail. In both the sea and in life, there are a number
of possibilities that lie hidden from the common eye; some are gifts to be treasured and some are
problems to be defeated. Neither will be found unless man embarks upon the journey. If man is lucky
enough to discover a treasure (be it love or family or education), he must fight until death to retain it;
if man is unlucky enough to discover an evil lurking underneath the surface of the sea (any one of life
s varied problems), he must fight it bravely and nobly until the end. In either case, it is the struggle
that is all important, and a man obtains the status of hero if he battles the sea (life) with grace under
pressure. In the novel, Santiago embarks on a sea journey (life) and encounters a giant marlin
(treasure). He battles nobly to earn the treasure and then fights the sharks (problems) to save it. The
struggle defines him as a hero. Even though he loses the treasure (the marlin) to the sharks (the
problems), he has won the sea battle (life).
In addition, Santiago serves as a metaphor for the creative artist, someone like Hemingway himself.
He is capable in his profession, has proved his talent several times before, but that is not sufficient. He
has to prove it every day, for every day is a new day. Santiago s suffering is akin to artistic creation,
which is never

The Concept Of Abstract Data Types
Abstract The objective or purpose of this paper is to drill deep down into the concept of Abstract Data
Types. Draw the basic comparison between ADTs and few of the most frequently confused terms with
the concept. Examine how modern programing languages, predominantly, java, C#, Python, Ruby,
Objective C and C++ put these ideas into practice. The intent of my research is to help developers
identify the strengths and weakness of different abstract data type and evaluate scenario under which
each data type can be utilized to fully harness its maximum potential. Keywords: Abstract Data Types,
Data Types, Data Structures Abstract Data Types: Examine How Different Languages Choose To Use
the Concept Since most of the popular programing languages used today are object oriented in nature,
which in turn, is not a language, but a set of ideas that is supported by many languages, part of my
research will be focused on how these concepts came into play and the rest will be aimed at collecting
arguments to elaborate distinction and similarities between the two paradigms. Before the concept of
Object Oriented development was introduced, programs were written as a long piece of code, often
with all the data and variables defined in one place and all the logic in another. This Approach to
programing was known as Procedure Oriented. Although, procedural languages had named functions
and subroutines to make the program look more modular and maintainable, but as the code got bigger

Carol Rogers Influence in Psychology
Carl Rogers and His Influence on Modern Psychology
Introduction
Carl Rogers is considered the founder of client centered therapy, which asserts that childhood
experiences affect an individual s feelings, thoughts, and behavior (Rathus, 2004). The therapist must
see the world from that of the client to be effective in treatment. Rogers has influenced many
psychological theories and therapies present today, especially positive psychology. Despite this fact,
many who practice positive psychology do not, or are not willing to, accept the influence of past
theories.
Client Centered Therapy In 1959, Rogers asserted that the therapeutic relationship is used differently
with different clients and it is not necessary to manipulate the ... Show more content on

This type of therapy began to be misused and negative emotion, that may play a beneficial role in
therapy, was ignored completely. In fact, pessimism can even become an important strategy to deal
with anxiety. Individuals can use negative thinking as a defensive strategy to work through their
anxiety with the result being just as effective as those who take an optimistic approach (Chang Norem,
2002; as cited in La Torre, p. 153). In a true clinical setting, a patient is free to express feelings and
experiences to facilitate self healing through positive intervention techniques. With the data available
on positive psychology, many clinicians may be tempted to utilize a particular positive intervention
with the belief it will make a tremendous impact on the patient. However, this may be unhealthy for
the patient who may need to experience negative or difficult emotion to work through the issue they
are dealing with. Nonetheless, positive therapy has a definitive useful role in psychological treatment
and adds a deeper dimension to the treatment setting (p. 404). Therapists who use this type of therapy,
however, should remember not to become a slave to the tyrannies of optimism (Seligman, 1990, p.
292; as cited in La Torre, p. 404).
Carl Rogers and Positive Psychology Many of Carl Rogers s ideas have been influential on modern
psychological practices, and specifically in the area of positive psychology. Client centered therapy is

The Victorian Er Collin s Challenging Traditional Gender...
The Victorian Era: Collin s Challenging Traditional Gender Roles In 1868, British author Wilkie
Collins wrote what is now famously known as one of the first full length detective stories, The
Moonstone. Within this text, he explores and transcends his writing style, as he created an atmosphere
full of suspense and gothic tradition by making use of two genres famous in the Victorian Era (Ayton,
2). As Collins managed to challenge the roles of men and women within The Moonstone, he
ultimately attempts to reverse genders by creating a story of conflict, where the women are essentially
in charge. As many gender stereotypes are expressed within The Moonstone through the different
narrators of the novel, almost all of them become discredited as we are introduced to the other
characters. By making use of the characters like Betteredge, Lady Verinder, and finally Rachel
Verinder, Collins novel proves to break society s barrier of expected roles for men and women within
the Victorian Era. During the Victorian period, men and women s roles became more sharply defined
than at any time in history. This concept of roles, became extremely significant within Wilkie Collins
The Moonstone (1868), as he incorporated the issues seen during that era, with the roles and
expectations of the women in his novel. Because many of the women seen throughout Collins novel
are more assertive than one would expect from a Victorian novelist, Collins shows women acting
forcefully on their own, which

The Kurdistan Workers Party
I decided to do my paper on the terrorist organization named Kurdistan Workers party from what I
have read about them they are a very interesting group, but violent. The main reason for their attacks
is to form a Kurdistan state within Turkey. Some people apart of this organization feel that Turkey has
oppressed their culture. They want to fight Turkish officials to prove their point. The group was started
by Abdullah Ocalan, a man who believes in Marxist lenist ideas. Abdullah now resides in a Turkish
prison but still has control over what the PKK (Kurdish workers party) does. First, Some history of

beliefs, but he was the guy who created the group to make a change for some Kurdish people. I do say

countries, and defiantly an enemy to Turkey. Ocalan was born to a peasant family in a village in
southeastern Turkey. He had vague political aspirations as a youngster. (Abdullah Ocalan) This leads

The Sunni-Shia Divide
Introduction
Islam is a monotheistic religion that started in Arabia (1). It was founded by the prophet Muhammad
and during the first century of its creation, it spread throughout Arabia and beyond (12). Muslims
believe that Muhammad saw visions of the angel Gabriel telling him the of the wisdoms of God.
Today, Islam is the second largest religion in the world and just like other major world religions, there
are divisions that exist in Islam. What must be the most significant division is the division between the
Sunnis and the Shiites.
What caused the split and their claims to legitimacy
Islam was founded by Muhammad and during his life, he was able to gain many followers, even
conquering the city of Mecca from which fled because of prosecution (1). Because of the zeal of its
followers, Islam ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The centuries old Sunni Shia divide is exacerbated by contemporary concerns over power, freedom
and equality (8). Many Sunni countries are prejudiced against Shiites and at the same time, are scared
of Shiism spreading. Sunni dominated governments such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan have
worked to keep Shiites and Sunnis divided and specifically, to keep Shia subjugated (8,9). For
example, the government of Saudi has worked to build a network of mosques, seminaries, schools,
and writers that emphasize Sunni identity (8). In Algeria, the minister of education dismissed teachers
in the fear that they were spreading Shiism. The Sunni s fear of Shia spreading that it controls even the
potential of Shiism to spread makes the divide even bigger and has caused anti Shia propaganda with
renewed virulence (9,11). The prejudice that Sunnis hold against Shiites is illustrated in this example.
A man who was to give a guest lecture in Pakistan on Sunni Shia relations told a group of Muslim
professors, when asked, that he was Christian. One of them replied, Well at least you re not Shia

Implementation of a Management Production Schedule for...
Realco Breadmaster Company It is very important for a business to have a master production schedule
because it enables companies to determine whether or not it is meeting the demands of production.
Businesses without a master production schedule are at a huge disadvantage compared to businesses
that do have a MPS. For example, a business can have many products in stock but can miss out on its
profits due to the holding cost. Not having a MPS can cause businesses to lack in supply which can
result into customers receiving their products very late. A company known as the Realco Breadmaster
Company has experienced what it is like to be in business without a MPS. Johnny Chang, the owner
of the Realco Breadmaster Company, would like to adopt a MPS for Realco so that the company can

The tv show Friends is the most funniest and meaningful sitcom of all time. It is about six friends,
three men and three women, who live in the same apartment complex in New York and face life
together as a family. This wonderful sitcom displays the real meaning of friendship and loyalty. They
live their most crazy, funny, and sad moments together. They help guide and support each other
through their tough times. Even though, many people, including myself, may consider the sitcom
Friends as the funniest show ever, many other people disagree; some people think it is boring, not
funny, and very predictable. Each of the characters in the sitcom have a funny personality of their
own. One of the characters is Monica Geller played by Courteney Cox. ... Show more content on

One of the odd traits about Chandler is that he hates Thanksgiving. When he was nine years old, his
parents announced that they were getting a divorce while eating Thanksgiving dinner and also his
father was having an affair with the houseboy. As a result, he refuses to celebrate Thanksgiving
traditionally and eat Thanksgiving dinner. Another character is Phoebe Buffay. She is played by Lisa
Kudrow. Her personality is very outgoing, impulsive, spontaneous, and friendly. She also has an
unbelievable imagination; she created a doll house out of shoe boxes with a slide, an aroma room,
licorice room, and a bubble machine. Also, she has a weird side which she really shows with her
songs. One of her famous songs is called smelly cat. Furthermore, Rachel Green is another character
in this great sitcom. She is played by Jennifer Aniston. Rachel is caring, loyal, and dependable. One of
the most enjoyable episodes with Rachel is when she sings with Ross, her baby s father, Baby Got
Back to her baby daughter to make her laugh. Finally, Ross Geller is one of the characters that I most
enjoyed in the sitcom. He is introverted, caring, shy, and trustworthy. In one episode, he wanted to
show his friends that he knew how to flirt so he was going to flirt with the pizza delivery girl. Instead
Ross ended up talking about different smells of gas with her. All of the characters have different
personalities, but that makes their friendship

The Film Production Of The Movie Production Industry
In the film production industry, the main goal is to produce a film that appeals to the audience and
incorporate elements of the certain time period. In doing so, the production film must keep in mind the
current trends and views of society. Stereotypes have been commonly present in society for as long as
our history dates back to. Among these stereotypes, I will be focusing primarily on Asian stereotypes
the primary reason being that I am an Asian American myself. The portrayal of these common
stereotypes however, does not imply or mean that Americans view it in a positive light. Some of the
most renowned and racist films in history are Breakfast at Tiffany s and Sixteen Candles. In addition
to these films, I will be examining and analyzing the television series Gossip Girl and Fresh off the
Boat to access a different perspective on the subject of how minorities are seen in American society.
Asian America is known to be comprised of immigrants, the ninjas, the kung fu masters, small
business owners, eastern mystics, Chinese restaurant waiters and people who can t pronounce their Ls
and Rs properly. It s also land of slanted eyes, buck teeth, and incorrect grammar. It s a land of the
yellow menace taking America s money. But we will dive deeper into that subject as this extended
essay progresses, this is only the introduction portion of course. Today s lack of Asians on movie
screens can be traced to the very beginning of American film. Back then, minorities including

Knights Of The Golden Circle Essay
One other thing to note from the K.G.C. convention is that the Knights had organized an army by
1860, before the Civil War had even begun, making them well prepared for the confrontation with the
North. The Knights of the Golden Circle reported at the convention that they had 48,000 members
from the North, that supported the rights of the South, also reporting men from the joining rapidly.
Texas had become a tremendous contributor to the organization s strength. With thirty two K.G.C.
lodges within its twenty seven counties, there was no doubt a heavy concentration of the committees
influence throughout the state. Towns such as Marshal, San Antonio, Canton and Castroville have
been named as some of the well known lodges. Facts point to San Antonio as the national
headquarters for the organization for a point in time.
Shortly after the south seceded from the Union, the seven seceding states established a Confederate
Constitution and claimed Jefferson Davis as it president. By this time the Knights of the Golden Circle
had become the single most powerful ally to the newly formed Confederate States. On ... Show more

The Crusaders Challenges And Challenges Essay
As the religion of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam spread throughout the world, it brought its own
challenges and obstacles. One of the challenges was the broader movement to spread Christianity that
included Crusades , which targeted Jews, Muslims, and members of other non Christian groups within
Europe (Hansen and Curtis 387). The Christian soldiers, were called the Crusaders who attached a
cross to their clothes as a sign of belonging to a large, volunteer force (Hansen and Curtis 388). The
Crusaders hoped to gain control of Jerusalem, because they believed that this holy site belonged to
them, even though it was also a holy site for the Muslims and the Jews. Furthermore, the Crusaders
fought with enemies within Europe and looked down on the Jews. They strongly believed that

Jerusalem was the symbolic center of the Christian world. About 50,000 soldiers marched out to
Jerusalem from Europe, however only 10,000 of them made it. Out of the 10,000 soldiers, some 1,500
were knights, the only fighters properly equipped for siege warfare (Hansen and Curtis 389). In
addition to that, many of these soldiers had voluntarily come forward which meant that unlike the
soldiers in an organized army, they did not receive any pay. Consequently, there was lots of
disorganization such as rarely agreeing with each other about [the] military strategy (Hansen and
Curtis 389). The disorganization hassle had reached to such an extreme point, that the Crusaders often
could not even decide on their main commander (Hansen and Curtis 389). However, despite their
organization, the Crusaders fought Muslims in the Holy Land and succeeded in capturing Jerusalem in
1099, from the rulers of Egypt. They ruled it as a kingdom for 88 years, before it fell in 1187. The

The Digital Revolution
The Value of Vinyl Ryan Henderson CSP 58: From the Phonograph to the Autotune Professor Johnson
5/4/15 In the midst of a digital revolution, music mediums have dramatically transformed since their
conceptions in the late 1800s. The music carrier has become a paramount component of the listening
experience. It is an inseparable aspect of auditory production and reception that contextualized the
sound heard, whether in a phonograph or an MP3 file. As the world of music steadily converts into
digital, weightless files, countless materialistic mediums have become artifacts of the past. Yet, the
vinyl record, a vintage technology, has managed to withstand the extinction of physical musical
formats. The revival of analog records in recent times has had an impressive impact during an
overwhelming era of digitalization. Reemerging as an auxiliary media format has been a dramatic
transformation since its days as the dominant recording medium in the 60s and 70s. Its transfiguration
over the decades is a complex process involving many cultural, technological, and mechanical factors.
Vinyl is a revitalized phenomenon of the 21st century that has been infused with new meaning and
values. After over 125 years of existence, this classic medium continues to be a symbol of the
undeniable impact of multisensory musical experience. The analog record s reemergence in the digital
age has recontextualized the medium, but continues to demonstrate the remarkable singularity of

The notion of difference among the sexes has been studied extensively in terms of cognition and brain
activity. An MRI can back these claims, showing male and female brains lighting up in different
locations based upon different stimuli. Anyone with a close relationship to a child can attest to the fact
that they were born with certain traits. Perhaps their nephew is very shy, while their niece has never
met a stranger. In other words, some difference among individuals is innate, fundamental. This notion
has been applied to studies in the animal world. Susan Allport, author of A Natural History of

In her article What Abu Ghraib Taught Me , Barbara Ehrenreich recounts her the process by which she
became disillusioned with the notion of female moral superiority. Despite claiming that she never
believed that women were inherently gentler and less aggressive than men , Ehrenreich divulges her
shock at the images of Spc.s Megan Ambuhl, Sabrina Harman, and Lynndie England, stating secretly,
I hoped that the presence of women would over time change the military, making it more
respectful...but I don t think that anymore. Ehrenreich lays the foundation for a concise argument for
gender equality; namely, if women want to achieve equality, they must let go of the notions of higher
moral existence. In other words, if women are as good as men, they are also as bad as men. The
message becomes somewhat convoluted as Ehrenreich seems unable to let go of the idea that women
may still be able to change corrupt, male dominated systems. She proves herself an optimist in favor
of the difference feminism she previously decried, qualifying her argument with the belief that women
do not change institutions simply by assimilating into them, only by consciously deciding to fight for
change. We need a feminism that teaches women to say no.
While Ehrenreich s remarks seem highly contradictory, within them lies an inherent paradox of the
role of women in male dominated systems. Perhaps

illegal for graduate schools to refuse admittance to their program in preference of a different race that

been involved in many aspects of testing assessment. Courts have been grappling with the role of

reorganization determine the microstructure and pore distribution of the material, which are critical in

2.10 Adsorption isotherms
Adsorption isotherm is the relationship between amount of sorbate adsorbed by an adsorbent (solid)
and its equilibrium concentration at constant temperature (Theodore and Ricci, 2010). An equilibrium
is arrived at where a number of molecules arriving on the surface of an adsorbent equals the number
of molecules that are leaving (Thajeel, 2013). Equilibrium data is analyzed using commonly known
adsorption systems (Rahimi and Vadi, 2014). The earliest and simplest known relationships describing
the adsorption process are the Freundlich and the Langmuir isotherms (Jalali et al., 2002). It is a
versatile isotherm expression that can simulate both Langmuir and Freundlich behaviors ( Sips, 1948;
Nah et al., 1977). The Langmuir Freundlich isotherm can describe both the Langmuir type and
Freundlich type adsorption behavior and has been used for modeling pH dependent sorption effects of

First of all, I read this play as very cartoonish and surreal. It s is not about what is going on at a
glance, because the play at face value can appear nonsensical, we must highlight the underlying
themes of the play. It is a play about class structure, poverty, madness, morality and animal nature vs.
societal nature. This will speak greatly to 2b s intellectually charged audience and will fit in nicely
with the company s exploration of the human condition. My inspiration for the direction of this
adaptation are the works of David Firth. He is a flash animator. He posts many of his pieces on
YouTube and he is most commonly known as the guy who created the Salad Fingers cartoon. My main
points of reference for inspiration is his series Sock, which are experimental shorts based off of

(particularly at 5:02, as it is very similar to a scene from Woyzeck). The reason I want you to see this
video is because I want the play structured like an incoherent dream with clear themes. The guttural
reaction are clear while the delivery is distorted. I think 2b has the resources to create a Woyzeck
using multimedia. We can combine sound design, flash animation, and projection with performers. We
also mix voice acting with physical acting. With flash animation we can use photographs to animate,
and have real textures and faces with the movement sort of seeming unskilled and distorted. We don t
need any physical sets, and minimal props. We create our settings with diagetic and non diagetic
sound and projected animations. We would require a black box theatre, access to the right tech to
facilitate the animated setting and various characters being animations, and a cast of 4 performers to
act as both physical performers and provide faces and voices for the flash

Abstract : This paper looks at the intersection of cultural memory, war and literary narrative in the
specific context of the civil wars that raged Sri Lanka. It would consider the dynamics of cultural

War has many fall outs. Like the Nigerian poet John Pepper Clark Bekederemo states The casualties
are not only those who are dead . Literary writings have represented many facets of war ranging from
the great epics like The Mahabharatha to our postcolonial postmodern writings on terrorism, genocide
and exile. In order to understand the context of the narrative of Shobasakthi s story , it is necessary to
briefly consider the many trajectories of the Sri Lankan civil war. Sometimes called the pearl of the
Indian Ocean, meaning resplendent in Sinhala, once described by travellers as a paradise and named
by Arab seafarers as Serendib, Sri Lanka was what an Eighteenth Century writer had in mind when he
coined the word serendipity .However the nation s gruesome and protracted civil wars have reduced
these myriad nomenclatures to the poignant Tear drop in the Indian Ocean. In the Sri Lankan context
multiple historicisations, various narratives of the same history occur since the nation is marked by a

Indian Tamils, Muslim moors, Tamil Christians, and the Eurasian Burghers. Historians, political
science scholars Richardson, Stokke and others have located different reasons for the civil strife in Sri
Lanka to understand why and how simmering ethnic differences escalated into a full scale insurgency

The Importance Of Women s Reproductive Rights In The...
Women s reproductive rights has always been a hot topic amongst the people of the United States, as
well as is one of the heavy hitters in determining whether an individual identifies his or herself as a
Democrat or a Republican, in terms of political affiliation. Democrats believe that a person should
have the ability to decide whether or not they want to bear a child or get an abortion, thus they are
identified as pro choice. Whereas, Republicans more so advocate against the ideas of abortion and
contraception, their views are considered pro life.
Feminist Margaret Sanger, a key player in creating a contraceptive for women, believes that women
should be in control of their own lives. She believes that a woman should not have to be weary with
the idea that she may become pregnant every time she participates in sexual intercourse. In comparing
both of the main political parties, one may identify Margaret Sanger as a strong pro choice advocate
for women. She fought hard and spoke passionately about why she believed that creating this
contraceptive would be beneficial. However, towards the height of her campaign for the pill she
begins to share some very eugenistic views that may cause many to question the benefits of the pill. ...

Managing Conflict Essay example
Effective managers are successful within the workgroup and organization when a style is used to
resolve a conflict. People do experience conflict in their lives. There has always been a lot of interest
in how to manage conflict once it appears in the open, and that is important. What is not so common is
a concern for preventing unnecessary conflict, so it does not start in the first place. Managers are
capable of using all five resolutions skills to deal with conflict in the workplace.
Organizations of all types need good managers in order to survive when dealing with conflicts that
will occur within a workplace. Many people holding management positions will be confronted with
issues between two people or two groups ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people attempt to avoid conflict by postponing it, hiding their feelings, changing the subject,
leaving the room or quitting the project. Sometimes, doing nothing is a smart thing to do, providing
the decision to do nothing is well thought out and based on an analysis of the situation. Although
avoidance might appear to be a cop out, it can sometimes be the most appropriate response. A
common means of avoiding conflict is to be secretive. This can be done by employees and managers.
The notion is that if no one knows what is being done, there can be little conflict. By being secretive,
one may delay conflict and confrontation, but when it does surface it will have far more negative
emotions attached to it than would have been the case if things were more open. It may be wise to
avoid a conflict if the issue is minor or if the potential conflict partner is a formidable opponent. Not
every conflict justifies your attention. One should not routinely withdraw from conflicts because it
provides only a temporary fix and sidesteps the underlying problem. An accommodating manager is
also known as a smoothing or obliging manager (Hemmer, 2003). Accommodating is allowing the
desires of the other party to prevail. This resolution reflects low assertiveness and high
cooperativeness. Accommodating may be an appropriate conflict handling strategy when a manager
wants to show reasoning, develop performance, create good will, and to keep peace.

asked my mom or dad how come the doctors don t get together and make a miracle drug that could
heal anything and everything. It wasn t until the age of 15 when my grandmother was diagnosed with
breast cancer that I understood why it took so long for others to heal and the process that they had to
endure in order to be healthy again. Shortly after my grandmother s diagnosis, I started looking into
what it would take to get a drug that would cure cancer through the approval process on the shelf to
save some many others just like my grandmother. But I kept running into a dead end. Everything
seemed to keep pointing towards chemotherapy and radiation. Although I wanted something to heal
my grandmother fast, chemotherapy and radiation was the only solution if I had wish to see her watch

strengthen but also watch as it drained her energy. A month of chemotherapy and a few weeks of

Reflection Paper On Depression
Depression; A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest
in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. At some point in our lives we have all felt
empty , hopeless or general discontent that lasts nearly every day, for weeks on end. Some of us may
even currently be in it today. Anxiety Disorders affects much our population. Depression is the
common cold of mental disorders, it affects a large population, unfortunately only less than half are
receiving help. Mexican parents do not accept that depression is a medical condition. Growing up I
encountered many things that made me feel empty and hopeless. Looking back today at all the
symptoms of depression I realize how many years I have been dealing with this illness. I remember
five year old me crying from seeing my mom get beat by my father and feeling helpless. Eight year
old me feeling alone because my parents had split and I d never see my brother from that day forward.
There were many different things that gave me this feeling but nothing hurt more than the day my
mother left me. That day I knew what it was like to feel sad, alone, empty, restlessness, difficulty
sleeping and so many more. Imagine being eleven years old and going from having the ideal family to
feeling completely alone in this world? It was a horrible feeling. I suffered from it for many years, till
this day I don t think I have fully healed. I started doing Folklorico Dance and Aztec Dance at the age
of eight. Coming from a Hispanic household it was not common to talk about depression. According
to an article published by CNN, Latinos and whites in the U.S. were both at 60 percent. Yet, only 30
percent of Latinos will consider or actually get help from a provider. Depression is common, it has
been around for many years. I don t think that Latino families necessarily have chosen to not accept
Depression as a mental disorder. I think that it has been disregarded because it is not an injury you can
physically see like a broken leg or bloody nose. Most of their concerns revolved around what they
would be eating that day. Growing up I used dancing to express my feelings. I feel like I poured out all
the negative in me in that

In our view, sensors are the magic of the IoT. The sensor market is enormous, with Analog Devices
estimating it to approach $100 billion annually, much of which is not related to semiconductors at all.
The sensor market applicable to semiconductor vendors includes micro electromechanical systems
(MEMS) based sensors, optical sensors, ambient light sensors, gesture sensors, proximity sensors,
touch sensors, fingerprint sensors and more. These chips effectively detect changes in the
environment, creating the information that is ultimately transmitted via a wireless chip and interpreted
through application software to create an IoT solution. Sensors or sensor networks (Smart Dust, Mesh
Networks, etc.) can provide feedback about numerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The major application for automotive MEMS is for sensing when to deploy airbags. In this market
MEMS sensors are replacing sensors such as fiber optic gyroscopes and ring laser gyroscopes.
Additional applications are in electronics stability control, tire pressure measurement and, going
forward, using the sensor to track location while in a structure such as a parking garage where a GPS
signal cannot reach.
Of course air deployment is not really something that can be categorized as part of the Internet of
Things. However, the connected car seems to be a reality that is approaching rapidly. Once the car is
connected to the Internet via one of the wireless technologies mentioned here or one that is coming
specifically for automobiles, and software like iOS or Android gets installed, we expect the car to see
a significant increase in the use of the sensor information. For example, the MEMS sensor could
indicate that a tire is flat and then with location based services, a nearby garage could be suggested.
Similarly, the adoption of MEMS into the car to determine position while satellites cannot reach the
GPS can also be used to tie into location based services. Also, airbag deployment and associated g
force readings from the MEMS accelerometer taken during a car crash could send a signal to local
emergency services to send police and an ambulance. The six year CAGR forecast for MEMS sensors

Summary Of Utilitarianism
An overview of what Utilitarianism is, can be some what explained as a combination of both the
theory in Normative Ethics and a form of Consequentialism. In detail, on Utilitarianism, it is a theory
in which it is a concern action that will result the utmost amount of pleasure, or happiness, to the vast
numbers of persons. (pg.138) Consequentialism an action is morally required just because it produces
the best overall results. (pg.121) This is simply defined as good actions results in happiness. (pg.119)
However, a better understanding follows the interpretation of Utilitarianism by J.J.C Smart. Smart
presents his definition of the two sub forms of Utilitarianism: Act and Rule Utilitarianism. Smart

Separation Between Church And State
Over the years many things have changed, the clothes people wear, the music they listen to and the
cars the drive. We live in a society where things can change in the blink of an eye, but is change
always good? Could things change because things have been taken out of context? That is just what
has happened to Thomas Jefferson. Has the true meaning of Thomas Jefferson s Separation between
Church and State taken out of context today?
One side defends that the true context remains intact. Saying that religion should play no part in the
government what so ever. Saying that a political leadership based on religious convictions can harm
the freedom of citizens who do not belong to the majority religion. Arguing that religion based
attempts to limit reproductive rights have been particularly contentious in America. A Connecticut law
banning the use of contraceptives was struck down by the Supreme Court in 1965. A similar
Massachusetts law was defeated in 1972, followed the next year by the court s landmark Roe v. Wade
ruling that a woman has the right to choose abortion.
They also argue that the government should not allow prayer to be in schools. Praising the 1962, the
U.S. Supreme Court banning of prayer and religious readings from public schools. Saying that school
prayer assumes that all students believe in God, and that a given prayer might be applicable to all
different faiths that could be practiced among students. It is much more likely that the typical prayer or

Music Influence On Music
Music is an art form and cultural activity that has been enjoyed for centuries by many generations of
humans. As time goes on, music preferences change and along with that, the way individuals consume
music also changes. Firstly, looking at my age group; we were born in the 2000 s and this is also when
the Internet had just come out. The internet and the development of other technologies, facilitated the
shift to digital music consumption for this generation. For example, Spotify is a music streaming
service that was released in 2008 and has become very popular among this generation. Many other
music streaming services have followed Spotify such as Apple Music, as many consumers like to have
access to a wide array of songs through the web, which helps them avoid the inconvenience of having
to download all the music. Also, portable music players such as the iPod Nano are really enjoyed by
people in my age group, as it allows them to have access to their music from practically anywhere.
Finally, another advancement that has really been enjoyed by consumers in my age group are wireless
headphones. Although stereo headphones have been around since the 1950 s, products like the Apple s
AirPods are popular with individuals in my age group, as many are looking for wireless electronics.
Secondly, looking at my parent s age group, they had many sources of music consumption. My parents
listened to music through cassettes, CDs, and vinyl s through their childhood to young adulthood.
Vinyl records first came out in the 1950 s, about a decade before my parents were born, but they still
spent a lot of time listening to music through vinyl turntables which they had at their homes. To this
day, they have some at my home, due to the amazing sound quality they deliver. Cassette tapes were
also released in the 1960 s, so my parents also listened to them through cassette players. My father
tells me he owned the Sony Walkman when he was younger, and that was the portable music device of
their time. Finally, when CD s came out in the 1980 s, my parents tell me that they used them a lot and
to this day, still use them to play music when in the car sometimes. Also, in terms of headphones, they
used a fair bit of stereo headphones

During this decade, the economy was coming out of a severe recession after 1982 and it exploded shortly thereafter. It seemed out of nowhere, people were getting rich by investing in the stock market. The 80 s was the decade of the corporate raiders. Powerful, money hungry investors would buy companies when their values were on the line and dismantle them, selling off the assets piece by piece and becoming filthy rich off of it. Clearly, these investors had to have had the education and long career in the financial industry in order to have the knowledge to pull off maneuvers like this. This whole idea of excess that ran rampant in the 80s leads us to ask ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was the victim of the burgeoning culture of the politically correct. I had more money than I knew what to do with. It was the year of being hated. Wall Street has been touted as one of the most accurate portrayals of Wall Street culture and recently spawned a sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The character of Gordon Gekko and his obsession with greed is still prevalent today, especially during the fall of Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns in 2008. Many of the executives of those firms as well as Wall Street executives in general were referred to as being the Gordon Gekkos of our generation. Most news coverage regarding government intervention in the economy has been about Wall Street intervention as of the past few years. There are so many events in American Psycho that have been left open to interpretation, but the most popular being that Bret Easton Ellis was commenting on morality within society and its obsession with vanity and greed. Wall Street is a much more straightforward text which shows the deep roots of greed in the business world. Oliver Stone modeled Gekko after several notorious Wall Street executives who were arrested for trading scandals as well as his father (who was a stock broker) and himself. Both characters (Gordon Gekko and Patrick Bateman) were developed so that they have no redeeming qualities (especially Patrick Bateman). Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Vpns Modern Day Attacks Against Firewalls and Virtual Private Networks Electronic technology is growing at a rapid rate; more devices are made mobile and wireless, but with those improvement and developments come flaws and malicious opportunities. Cyber attacks are on the rise and no system or device is immune. Many organizations employ multiple layers of firewalls but that doesn t completely eliminate the threat. Attacks against firewalls and virtual private networks or VPNs are constantly being exploited with new methods everyday, but they are yet another obstacle that a cyber criminal must overcome. Unfortunately, many firewalls come with so many rules or policies that they can counteract the security desired and create loopholes for network threats or actually block traffic that is desired or requested by the user. These issues make it really important to understand how all rules and policies in the firewall work and how to apply them. Another tool often used for secure reasons and also as a reliable method to share information remotely is called a Virtual Private Network or VPN. Henry describes A VPN as a group of computers (or discrete networks) networked together over a public network namely, the internet (para 3, 2012). Basically, it s a private network created to allow remote access through a public network. Most often you will see that employees on airplanes or in a public place that will require and utilize these VPNs to access their business resources for all kinds of information, but some people just use it as a means to use their network without physically compromising the actual systems. A good VPN can provide many functions such as access anywhere worldwide without dedicated lines, data security, remote access to business resources and better employee production. For these VPNs to perform these functions properly they are required to provide reliability by ensuring that the network does not break down before reaching its max capacity, scalability to ensure the ability to expand as business grows, and of ... Guerrilla Warfare Vs Vietcong Prior to the start of Second Indochina war, the United States had been teaching the South Vietnamese armies tactics in order to defeat the North Vietnamese guerillas. They would use these military tactics while executing search and destroy missions as well as clear and hold missions. Search and Destroy mission would involve South Vietnamese troops along with United States troops covertly entering into a Vietnamese village, searching for the Vietcong. Once they found the suspected Vietcong, they would destroy them then retreat back to base. The clear and hold method was very similar except they would drive the enemy forces from the village then occupy it afterward. The Vietcong became experts in this type of warfare know as guerrilla warfare. Guerrilla warfare was termed coined during the Peninsular War by the Duke of Wellington but become popular with the rise of Communism and Marxism which called for the proletariat (lower class) to rise up against the bourgeoisie (upper class). Since lower class peasants could not stand a chance against conventional armies with tanks, helicopters, planes and artillery; they were forced to use cheap but effective tactics to kill the enemy. This type of irregular fighting is used against orthodox, conventional type opponents and the Vietnam war proved the effectiveness of guerrilla warfare. One guerrilla warfare tactic that proved to be highly effective for the Vietcong was using booby traps in order to kill or wound the enemy without being nearby for retaliation. The Vietcong would conceal hardened bamboo sticks smothered in poison known as Punji Sticks, underneath a weak platform covered in sticks and leaves, that would give out if stepped on. Once stepped on, the platform would give out and a US soldier would fall into the Punji sticks which would pierce his body. Other traps included land mines that would blow up once stepped on and tripwire grenades that would blow up once a soldier stepped on the wire. Overall these boobytraps accounted for 11% of US casualties in the Vietnam war. Beyond traps, the Vietcong would use other guerilla warfare tactics such as the hit and run strategy. During a hit and run the Vietcong would attack US forces by ambushing them then exiting before artillery or air support could be called in by predetermined routes. The Vietcong also used a strategy called the shoot and scoot strategy which involved the Vietcong attacking US military bases with artillery or mortars then moving the equipment to a new location before the US can ... • 6. Hunt For The Wilderpeople Builds On Waititi s Drama Essay Hunt for the Wilderpeople builds on Waititi s drama/comedy combination and further cements his auteur status. Wilderpeople is about an orphan boy who moves from one foster family to another, generally being a delinquent. This causes him to earn the title of a real bad egg. The majority of the film takes place as Ricky Baker is on the run through the vast forest. While structurally different from Boy, both films deal with coming of age, parents, and loneliness. Wilderpeople is explicitly divided up into ten chapters and an epilogue, while still being a somewhat causally driven film (Boy is more episodic). Since Wilderpeople relies more on a causal narrative, it seems more like a standard Hollywood film at first (especially with the action packed finale). But Waititi finds a way to make it his own. The use of chapters allows him to jump ahead without losing the audience and so he s able to tell a larger story with his signature zippy style. Adding onto that, he again relies on montages to quickly tell bits and pieces of narrative in humorous ways and uses those techniques to highlight character subjectivity. • 12. Theme Of Symbolism In Sea Of The Sea The novel is rich in symbolism that enhances both the plot and the Themes. The major symbol is the sea, which stands for all of life on which man must sail. In both the sea and in life, there are a number of possibilities that lie hidden from the common eye; some are gifts to be treasured and some are problems to be defeated. Neither will be found unless man embarks upon the journey. If man is lucky enough to discover a treasure (be it love or family or education), he must fight until death to retain it; if man is unlucky enough to discover an evil lurking underneath the surface of the sea (any one of life s varied problems), he must fight it bravely and nobly until the end. In either case, it is the struggle that is all important, and a man obtains the status of hero if he battles the sea (life) with grace under pressure. In the novel, Santiago embarks on a sea journey (life) and encounters a giant marlin (treasure). He battles nobly to earn the treasure and then fights the sharks (problems) to save it. The struggle defines him as a hero. Even though he loses the treasure (the marlin) to the sharks (the problems), he has won the sea battle (life). In addition, Santiago serves as a metaphor for the creative artist, someone like Hemingway himself. He is capable in his profession, has proved his talent several times before, but that is not sufficient. He has to prove it every day, for every day is a new day. Santiago s suffering is akin to artistic creation, which is never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Before the concept of Object Oriented development was introduced, programs were written as a long piece of code, often with all the data and variables defined in one place and all the logic in another. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This type of therapy began to be misused and negative emotion, that may play a beneficial role in therapy, was ignored completely. In fact, pessimism can even become an important strategy to deal with anxiety. Individuals can use negative thinking as a defensive strategy to work through their anxiety with the result being just as effective as those who take an optimistic approach (Chang Norem, 2002; as cited in La Torre, p. 153). In a true clinical setting, a patient is free to express feelings and experiences to facilitate self healing through positive intervention techniques. With the data available on positive psychology, many clinicians may be tempted to utilize a particular positive intervention with the belief it will make a tremendous impact on the patient. However, this may be unhealthy for the patient who may need to experience negative or difficult emotion to work through the issue they are dealing with. Nonetheless, positive therapy has a definitive useful role in psychological treatment and adds a deeper dimension to the treatment setting (p. 404). Therapists who use this type of therapy, however, should remember not to become a slave to the tyrannies of optimism (Seligman, 1990, p. 292; as cited in La Torre, p. 404). • 15. The Victorian Er Collin s Challenging Traditional Gender... The Victorian Era: Collin s Challenging Traditional Gender Roles In 1868, British author Wilkie Collins wrote what is now famously known as one of the first full length detective stories, The Moonstone. Within this text, he explores and transcends his writing style, as he created an atmosphere full of suspense and gothic tradition by making use of two genres famous in the Victorian Era (Ayton, 2). As Collins managed to challenge the roles of men and women within The Moonstone, he ultimately attempts to reverse genders by creating a story of conflict, where the women are essentially in charge. As many gender stereotypes are expressed within The Moonstone through the different narrators of the novel, almost all of them become discredited as we are introduced to the other characters. By making use of the characters like Betteredge, Lady Verinder, and finally Rachel Verinder, Collins novel proves to break society s barrier of expected roles for men and women within the Victorian Era. During the Victorian period, men and women s roles became more sharply defined than at any time in history. This concept of roles, became extremely significant within Wilkie Collins The Moonstone (1868), as he incorporated the issues seen during that era, with the roles and expectations of the women in his novel. Because many of the women seen throughout Collins novel are more assertive than one would expect from a Victorian novelist, Collins shows women acting forcefully on their own, which ... Effects Of Geopolymer Adsorbents reorganization determine the microstructure and pore distribution of the material, which are critical in determining many physical properties (Duxson et al., 2005; Duxson et al., 2007). Therefore during the course of alkali mediated reaction, Al (IV) and Si (IV) are converted to tetrahedral sites with an associated alkali cation to maintain electro neutrality (Davidovits, 1991). Equilibrium data is analyzed using commonly known adsorption systems (Rahimi and Vadi, 2014). The earliest and simplest known relationships describing the adsorption process are the Freundlich and the Langmuir isotherms (Jalali et al., 2002). It is a versatile isotherm expression that can simulate both Langmuir and Freundlich behaviors ( Sips, 1948; Nah et al., 1977). It s is not about what is going on at a glance, because the play at face value can appear nonsensical, we must highlight the underlying themes of the play. This will speak greatly to 2b s intellectually charged audience and will fit in nicely with the company s exploration of the human condition. My inspiration for the direction of this adaptation are the works of David Firth. He is a flash animator. He posts many of his pieces on YouTube and he is most commonly known as the guy who created the Salad Fingers cartoon. My main points of reference for inspiration is his series Sock, which are experimental shorts based off of dreams, and his Not Stanley shorts. The reason I want you to see this video is because I want the play structured like an incoherent dream with clear themes. The guttural reaction are clear while the delivery is distorted. I think 2b has the resources to create a Woyzeck using multimedia. We can combine sound design, flash animation, and projection with performers. We also mix voice acting with physical acting. With flash animation we can use photographs to animate, and have real textures and faces with the movement sort of seeming unskilled and distorted. We don t need any physical sets, and minimal props. We create our settings with diagetic and non diagetic sound and projected animations. We would require a black box theatre, access to the right tech to facilitate the animated setting and various characters being animations, and a cast of 4 performers to act as both physical performers and provide faces and voices for the flash ... Women s reproductive rights has always been a hot topic amongst the people of the United States, as well as is one of the heavy hitters in determining whether an individual identifies his or herself as a Democrat or a Republican, in terms of political affiliation. Democrats believe that a person should have the ability to decide whether or not they want to bear a child or get an abortion, thus they are identified as pro choice. Whereas, Republicans more so advocate against the ideas of abortion and contraception, their views are considered pro life. Feminist Margaret Sanger, a key player in creating a contraceptive for women, believes that women should be in control of their own lives. She believes that a woman should not have to be weary with the idea that she may become pregnant every time she participates in sexual intercourse. In comparing both of the main political parties, one may identify Margaret Sanger as a strong pro choice advocate for women. Some people attempt to avoid conflict by postponing it, hiding their feelings, changing the subject, leaving the room or quitting the project. Sometimes, doing nothing is a smart thing to do, providing the decision to do nothing is well thought out and based on an analysis of the situation. Although avoidance might appear to be a cop out, it can sometimes be the most appropriate response. A common means of avoiding conflict is to be secretive. This can be done by employees and managers. The notion is that if no one knows what is being done, there can be little conflict. By being secretive, one may delay conflict and confrontation, but when it does surface it will have far more negative emotions attached to it than would have been the case if things were more open. It may be wise to avoid a conflict if the issue is minor or if the potential conflict partner is a formidable opponent. Not every conflict justifies your attention. One should not routinely withdraw from conflicts because it provides only a temporary fix and sidesteps the underlying problem. An accommodating manager is also known as a smoothing or obliging manager (Hemmer, 2003). Accommodating is allowing the desires of the other party to prevail. This resolution reflects low assertiveness and high cooperativeness. Accommodating may be an appropriate conflict handling strategy when a manager wants to show reasoning, develop performance, create good will, and to keep peace. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reflection Paper On Depression Depression; A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life. At some point in our lives we have all felt empty , hopeless or general discontent that lasts nearly every day, for weeks on end. Some of us may even currently be in it today. Anxiety Disorders affects much our population. Depression is the common cold of mental disorders, it affects a large population, unfortunately only less than half are receiving help. Mexican parents do not accept that depression is a medical condition. Growing up I encountered many things that made me feel empty and hopeless. Looking back today at all the symptoms of depression I realize how many years I have been dealing with this illness. I remember five year old me crying from seeing my mom get beat by my father and feeling helpless. Eight year old me feeling alone because my parents had split and I d never see my brother from that day forward. There were many different things that gave me this feeling but nothing hurt more than the day my mother left me. That day I knew what it was like to feel sad, alone, empty, restlessness, difficulty sleeping and so many more. Imagine being eleven years old and going from having the ideal family to feeling completely alone in this world? It was a horrible feeling. I suffered from it for many years, till this day I don t think I have fully healed. I started doing Folklorico Dance and Aztec Dance at the age of eight. Coming from a Hispanic household it was not common to talk about depression. According to an article published by CNN, Latinos and whites in the U.S. were both at 60 percent. Yet, only 30 percent of Latinos will consider or actually get help from a provider. Depression is common, it has been around for many years. I don t think that Latino families necessarily have chosen to not accept Depression as a mental disorder. I think that it has been disregarded because it is not an injury you can physically see like a broken leg or bloody nose. Most of their concerns revolved around what they would be eating that day. As time goes on, music preferences change and along with that, the way individuals consume music also changes. Firstly, looking at my age group; we were born in the 2000 s and this is also when the Internet had just come out. The internet and the development of other technologies, facilitated the shift to digital music consumption for this generation. For example, Spotify is a music streaming service that was released in 2008 and has become very popular among this generation. Many other music streaming services have followed Spotify such as Apple Music, as many consumers like to have access to a wide array of songs through the web, which helps them avoid the inconvenience of having to download all the music. Also, portable music players such as the iPod Nano are really enjoyed by people in my age group, as it allows them to have access to their music from practically anywhere. Finally, another advancement that has really been enjoyed by consumers in my age group are wireless headphones. Although stereo headphones have been around since the 1950 s, products like the Apple s AirPods are popular with individuals in my age group, as many are looking for wireless electronics. Secondly, looking at my parent s age group, they had many sources of music consumption. My parents listened to music through cassettes, CDs, and vinyl s through their childhood to young adulthood. Vinyl records first came out in the 1950 s, about a decade before my parents were born, but they still spent a lot of time listening to music through vinyl turntables which they had at their homes. To this day, they have some at my home, due to the amazing sound quality they deliver. Cassette tapes were also released in the 1960 s, so my parents also listened to them through cassette players. My father tells me he owned the Sony Walkman when he was younger, and that was the portable music device of their time.
