Causes:
1. Evaluation of students on theoretical basis only.
2. Surrounding circumstances are not considered
while framing the syllabus.
3. Lack of soft skills of teachers which creates
communication gap between teacher and students.
4.Traditional method of teaching supresses the
curiosity of students.
5.Lack of implementation of govt. policies to
maximum level .
Literacy depending on socio-economic development
Proposed Solutions
 Teachers should be selected on the basis of interviews
not only on the basis of entrance test.
 Special courses should be introduced to improve soft
skills of teachers such as communication skills, english
language skills, etc.
 Extra work like election duties, census work should be
reduced.
 Govt. funding should be increased to increase
infrastructure and quality and quantity of instruments
in scientific and computer laboratories.
 Teacher to student ratio should be increased to
increase communication and understanding between
them.
 There should be increased collaboration between
parents/guardians and teachers for better planning of
students’ activities to be done.
 To develop reading habit , books should be provided
fulfilling their curiosity.
 Visits should be arranged to nearby parks, farms,
hospitals, local governing bodies for better
understanding of surroundings through experience.
 Maximum use of educational equipments such as
abacus, charts, maps should be done.
 Teachers’ evaluation should be done on the basis of
progress of students which is determined
orally/practically not theoretically, on regular basis.
Implementation
 Arranging special courses for teachers in the same way
as their training programmes are arranged.
 Funding should be increased for establishing library
and purchasing equipments.
 extra allowances and facilities should be provided to
teachers working in remote and tribal areas.
Regionwise Literacy
 Extra work on teachers should be reduced through
unemployed youth on contract basis.
 Hostels should be established in collaboration with
sugar factories for nomadic workers’ children to
promote at least one year continuous education.
 Help of NGO should be taken in tribal areas for
implementing new ideas.

  • 2. Causes: 1. Evaluation of students on theoretical basis only. 2. Surrounding circumstances are not considered while framing the syllabus. 3. Lack of soft skills of teachers which creates communication gap between teacher and students.
  • 3. 4.Traditional method of teaching supresses the curiosity of students. 5.Lack of implementation of govt. policies to maximum level .
  • 4. Literacy depending on socio-economic development
  • 5. Proposed Solutions  Teachers should be selected on the basis of interviews not only on the basis of entrance test.  Special courses should be introduced to improve soft skills of teachers such as communication skills, english language skills, etc.
  • 6.  Extra work like election duties, census work should be reduced.  Govt. funding should be increased to increase infrastructure and quality and quantity of instruments in scientific and computer laboratories.
  • 7.  Teacher to student ratio should be increased to increase communication and understanding between them.  There should be increased collaboration between parents/guardians and teachers for better planning of students’ activities to be done.
  • 8.  To develop reading habit , books should be provided fulfilling their curiosity.  Visits should be arranged to nearby parks, farms, hospitals, local governing bodies for better understanding of surroundings through experience.
  • 9.  Maximum use of educational equipments such as abacus, charts, maps should be done.  Teachers’ evaluation should be done on the basis of progress of students which is determined orally/practically not theoretically, on regular basis.
  • 10. Implementation  Arranging special courses for teachers in the same way as their training programmes are arranged.  Funding should be increased for establishing library and purchasing equipments.  extra allowances and facilities should be provided to teachers working in remote and tribal areas.
  • 12.  Extra work on teachers should be reduced through unemployed youth on contract basis.  Hostels should be established in collaboration with sugar factories for nomadic workers’ children to promote at least one year continuous education.  Help of NGO should be taken in tribal areas for implementing new ideas.
