What is climate change?
• "A change in global or regional climate patterns, in particular a
change apparent from the mid to late 20th century onwards and
attributed largely to the increased levels of atmospheric carbon
dioxide produced by the use of fossil fuels. "
Greenhouse Gases
• As greenhouse gas emissions from human activities increase, they
build up in the atmosphere and warm the climate, leading to many
other changes around the world—in the atmosphere, on land, and
in the oceans.
Effect of greenhouse gases: soil gets
dry as climate gets warmer
Causes of greenhouse gases
15% of greenhouse
gas emissions
come from forestry
and land use
9% of
greenhouse gas
emissions come
from agricultural
land and farming
32% of greenhouse
gas emissions
come from
electricity
production
Effects of greenhouse gases
Changing weather patterns
• The extreme weather patterns share a common link, which is
the ever-increasing reliance of fossil fuels
• The present concentration of carbon dioxide in Earth's
atmosphere is the highest in the past 800,000 years
How to help: sustainable
housing
Solar panels
lessen
greenhouse gas
emission
because they do
not use electricity
Instead of a
costly and
electricity I using
water system, we
can use a water
pump.
From the wooden
floor to the walls
of this room, it is
recycled and
sustainable
A windmill is
also an
excellent
source of
power because
it uses natural
wine to produce
electricity
