Climate change is defined as a change in global or regional climate patterns attributed to increased levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide from the use of fossil fuels since the mid-20th century. As greenhouse gas emissions from human activities increase, they build up in the atmosphere and warm the climate, leading to changes around the world. The main greenhouse gases are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, which are emitted from activities like electricity production, transportation, agriculture, and forestry. The effects of climate change include changing weather patterns and more extreme weather events.
