Listening to this symphonic piece it seems to have many characteristics of a piece from the
Classical Period in the Classical Era. I do not believe that this is a piece from the 20/21st Century
because doesn't fall into the many subcategories of the music of that period. This piece could not be
from the "atonal phase" where the music avoids what is considered a tonal center. It could not be
considered to a be a piece from modernism, populism, serialism, experimentalism, minimalism, or
post modernism as it is structured and follows many of the characteristics of the Classical Period
and Era. Listening to the entire piece I noticed a variety of meter and tempo changes the piece
seemed to be fast then slow then fast again. This made a very dramatic feeling as the music would

The dynamics that accompanied the change in speed helped to emphasize the changes in the piece.
The piece appears the have a "naturalness" rhythm as it flows and periodically pauses and begins
again and is not definitive like the Baroque Period's "motor rhythm". Listening to the piece, I believe
that the texture is homophony, this texture was typical in the Classical Era. The piece also
highlighted instruments in solos in this piece. In 0:36–0:47 and beautiful violin solo is featured and
other solos are featured throughout the piece. I believe that the piece is in sonata form, which is
appropriate for the era I believe this piece to be in. In sonata form we can hear the exposition start
near the beginning or the song, the development builds up to the recapitulation that I find most

The wealthy family provided him with his own small orchestra, and this gave him the opportunity
to produce very many compositions. He was inspired by every day events, such as the times of day
to write the triptych "Morning, Noon and Evening", and by the seasons to compose "The Seasons".
He also composed the well–known symphony "Farewell", to give the Esterhazy Prince a hint: that
he was holding the musicians for too long, and he had to give them some time off.
All his music was for the ears of a small, privileged audience, primarily for their own amusement.
However, not all the great composers worked for wealthy families. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a
younger composer who Haydn considered as his only true peer in music wanted his music to last
in time, and be heard by larger groups of people. This led him to produce many operas, and also
religious music. He was inspired by ancient Greek and Roman history and mythology, but also by
comic events of the every day life. However, he did not enjoy the same funding as Haydn, because
of lack of a permanent (wealthy) audience, and also because of the war that broke out in Europe at
the time.
Mozart's probably most famous composition is his unfinished "Requiem", which legend holds he

Music is such an amazing and wonderful thing. There are so many different possibilities when it
comes to music. One of the fascinating things about music is that there is always room for
improvement. Composers are making better and better music everyday. Music is always changing

The next major time in classical music was referred to as the Baroque time period. The Baroque
time period went from (1600–1750). Music begin to seriously advance and change from the Middle
Ages to the Baroque era. The music from the Baroque time period is still known and loved to this
very day. Unlike the Middle Ages the Baroque time period began to have a unity of mood and a
continuity of rhythm. Composers began to put more feelings into what they were composing, they
would express their feelings through their music by hitting a certain note at a certain time. There
were a lot of instrumental achievements during this time. It went from almost no instruments during
the Middle Ages to several different instruments including orchestras during the Baroque era.
The Baroque time period made their music royal, or "fit for a king". There became several
different types of instrumental music these included: concertos which featured a soloist with an
