1. History
* The major time divisions of Western art music are as follows:
- The early music period, which includes
• the Medieval (500–1400)
• the Renaissance (1400–1600) eras
• Baroque (1600–1750)
- The common-practice period, which includes
• Baroque (1600–1750)
• Classical (1750–1820)
• Romantic eras (1804–1910)
- The 20th century (1901–2000) which includes
• the modern (1890–1930) that overlaps from the late 19th-century,
• the high modern (1950–1969)
• contemporary (1945 or 1975–present) or postmodern (1930–present) eras
- The Classical period: from 1750 to 1820
- Some classical music instruments: violon, piano, cello,guitar,...
- Classical music musicians: Antonio Vivaldi, Johann
Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel, Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven,…
- Popular classic songs: Symphony 5, O Fortuna, Hallelujah

2. Characteristics
- Classical music is art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western
music, including both liturgical (religious) and secular music.
- Classical music has often incorporated elements or material from popular music of
the composer's time.
- Literature: the most striking feature of classical music is that it is recorded with a
musical notation. The written quality of music demonstrates the preservation of the
work.
- Industrial chemicals: The performance of the classical music repertoire requires a
considerable degree of understanding of sound and harmonic principles, practical
knowledge of performance, and familiar with the style, the composer is among the
most needed skills for trained musicians.
- Performance techniques: Classical music performance requires a high level, a
proficiency in sight-reading and ensemble playing, harmonic principles,
knowledge of performance practice and a familiarity with the style/musical
idiom expected for a given composer or musical work.
- Social: Art is created by humans and art comes up to humans’ expectation.
Classical music bases on it to develop, the features of each historical period is
shown clearly by classical music.
- Artistic substance: it can be said that classical music is a musical art developed
early in Europe and influenced humanity; , musicians have sent their hearts and
minds in the melody and the lyrics.
