This PowerPoint helps students to consider the concept of infinity.
citrus fruit electricity

2. What is an electric current?
•An electric current is a flow of electric charge. In
electric circuits this charge is often carried by
moving electrons in a wire. It can also be carried
by ions in an electrolyte, or by both ions and
electrons such as in a plasma.
3.
4. Materials Required :
1. A lemon, or other citrus fruit.
2. 18 (or smaller) gauge copper wire.
3. Wire stripper/clipper.
4. Steel paper clip, small galvanized nail (one that is
covered in zinc), or a piece of zinc (ideal)
5. Procedure :
• Strip about 2 ½ inches of plastic insulation off the copper wire.
Then clip that piece of stripped wire off the main roll.
• Carefully straighten the steel paper clip. Use the wire clippers to
cut it to the same length as the copper wire.
• Use the sand paper to rub out any rough spots on the wire or
paper clip
6. • Roll the lemon gently on a table to break the cell walls and loosen
up the juice inside. The sour juice inside is required for chemical
reaction.
• Carefully stick the copper wire about one inch in the lemon.
• Stick the paper clip, zinc strip into a spot in the lemon above ¼
inch away from the copper wire. Make sure the wires don’t touch.
If they are too far apart, the matter might lose their way.
• Fix the LED light to both zinc and copper wires.

8. What is a volatile battery?
• This a type of battery which is made up of two
different metals, which act as electrodes, or places
when electrons can enter or leave a battery. Here we
are going to make a voltaic battery with the use of
citrus fruit i.e. lemon.
