Circle of life
1. Circle of Life
The Butterfly (Papilionoidea) and the Hibiscus
(Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) both are an important role in
the survival of their species. The above picture captures
the biodiversity relation of the two species which is the
symbiotic relationship: Mutualism, where both species
benefits from one another. The hibiscus produces sweet
nectar which is a source of nutrient that the butterfly
consumes and also act as their shelter. On the other
hand, the butterfly pollinates the hibiscus from one
plant to another or one place to another, resulting in
the formation of seeds which are carried around on the
butterfly’s legs, helping in the perpetuation of the
species. This act as a reminder to everyone that to give
is to receive. As the saying goes, “Life’s good when it’s
lived for oneself; it’s great when lived for others”
