types, colours and music during his movies, in
order to grab the viewers attention.
Christopher Nolan’s signature shot is the roll, a
camera movement where the camera does a barrel
roll that turns everything we see in view, Nolan
used this shot in many of his movies.
He is look upon as an auteur and postmodern
filmmaker, Nolan's visual style highlights urban
settings, men in suits, muted colours, dialogue
scenes framed with a wide close-up with a shallow
depth of field and modern locations and
architecture. He has noted that all of his films are
heavily influenced by film noir.
Christopher uses editing as a way to represent the
characters‘ mental situations and states, merging
their prejudice with that of the audience.
He also uses cinéma-vérité techniques (such as

voices the story of two Los
Angeles homicide detectives
investigating a murder in an
Alaskan town. A remake of the
1997 Norwegian film of the
same name. the film came to
great success grossing $113
million worldwide. To date, this
is the only film that Nolan has
directed without receiving at
least a share of one of the
writing credits, even though he
wrote the final draft of the
script.

knight trilogy and was also
