known to the quirky.
The calendar candle
One of the danish December traditions is the calendar candle.
This candle is, just like a tape measure, provided with 24
markings, normally decorated with motives of fir and small figures
like elves or small fake mushrooms.
December food
In Denmark we eat specific food in december. Almost every family buy
ore bake æbleskiver(Danish doughnut).
Æbleskiver is a very popular danish Snack, it’s made of a peace of
apple dipped dough. Many adults like to drink Gløgg(hot wine) to their
Danish doughnut. Some families prepare a bowl of Risengrød(rice
pudding) for themselves or the or there pixie…...
Present calendars - Advent calenders
A solid tradition, especially in families with children is the present
calendar or the advent calendar. Each day from the 1st - 24th you open
a small door in your calendar, where you can find chocolate, candy or
something else. In the advent calendar you open a present every
sunday in advent.

In Denmark we always have a Christmas tree to put all the present
under. We normally decorate it when we get christmas holiday but it’s
very different from family to family

The 13th of december many children do a Lucia parade. The children
