This document provides tips and guidance for children on stranger danger and personal safety. It defines strangers and outlines common tricks strangers may use to lure children, such as pretending to need help with a lost pet. It advises children to stay away from strangers, not to take gifts or candy from them, and to tell a trusted adult if a stranger tries to talk to them. The document also covers safety tips for situations like abduction, sexual assault, home alone, internet use, and more. Children are encouraged to know who to ask for help and how to respond to dangerous situations.

Community Policing: How to be an Aware and Active Member of Your CommunityRasmussen College
When it comes to crime prevention, we all have a role to play in the safety and security of our communities. Millions of crimes in the U.S. go unreported every year because people are either not aware of their surroundings or too afraid to call the police. Our School of Justice Studies subject matter expert, Stefanie Dressen, discusses the importance of knowing your neighbors and details how to identify suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
Deals with the issue of child sexual abuse, how to identify the signs, how to handle situations related to child sexual abuse and penalties imposed by law, how to help a child who is a victim of sexual abuse and how to protect your child from sexual abuse.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

• NEVER get into a car with anyone you don’t know.

When strangers comes to you, YOU should always say NO!
12. Stranger Danger Tips
• ALWAYS tell your parents where you are.
• Try not to walk anywhere alone.
• Do not get close to strangers.
• Do not tell a stranger your name or address.
• NEVER go with a stranger to find a lost pet.
• NEVER get into a car with anyone you don’t know.
• NEVER enter someone’s house or office without a parent.
• If a stranger tries to talk to you or grab you, RUN AWAY and scream ‘ YOU’RE NOT MY
MOM, YOU’RE NOT MY DAD , I DON’T KNOW YOU”, make as much noise as you can
and DO NOT STOP screaming this till you are safe.
• If a stranger does grab you, make as much noise as you can, kick, bite, and do whatever you
can to try to free yourself, while you are screaming the above phrases.
• KNOW safe places to run to ( known neighbour, teacher, Police or Fire Station, etc.)
• If ANYONE touches you in a bad way, say “NO!”, report it to a trusted adult.
• TELL your parents about places you don’t feel safe.
• TALK with your parents and come up with a secret code word.
• CALL 100 (Police) to report a stranger
• NEVER open the door to a stranger.
• NEVER tell anyone on the phone you are home alone.
13. SAFETY TIPS FOR CHILDREN
1. Sexual Assault
Few things you should know that can help
• Your body belongs to you.
• No one has the right to touch you, if you don't want them to. That includes
teachers, grandparents, uncles and aunts, mom, dad -- everyone!
• There are places on your body that are private -- like places your swimming suit
covers -- that an adult should not try to touch, unless it's the doctor and your
parent or guardian is in the room with you.
• If someone does something to you that is wrong, they may tell you it is a special
secret or make you promise not to tell. TELL! It is absolutely okay to break this kind
of promise -- the person who made you promise knows that they are doing
something very wrong.
14. Remember, adults and older kids should:
• Never ask you to keep a secret about touching.
• Never touch you anywhere that is private, like
where your bathing suit covers you.
• Never ask you to touch them anywhere private.
• Never ask you to take off their clothes.
• Never ask you to keep a secret about something
wrong.
• Never try to take pictures of you without your
clothes.
15. 2. Preventing Abduction
• Don't play in deserted areas -- such as empty playgrounds, parks, construction sites or dumps.
• Stay with your mom or dad in public places or use the buddy system. Play, walk, bike and skate with
a friend
• If you are out somewhere with an adult and you lose them, don't go looking for them. If you are in
a store, go to the cashier or security guard and ask for help. If you can't find a cashier or security
guard and you are in trouble, look for a woman with small children for help.
• Stay alert and Try to notice if an adult is hanging around your school playground or in a park and
then go to where you know you can find other people.
• If you think someone is following you, cross the street and go into a store. Tell a police officer or a
mother with a child. Don't try to hide -- go to where you know you can find other people.
• If someone tries to grab you, kick, punch and yell: "NO! I don't know you! You aren't my Mom (or
Dad)!“
• If the person is in a car, stay as far away from the car as you can. Go into a store or turn around, and
walk or run in the opposite direction the car is going.
• NEVER, ever hitchhike or accept a ride from someone. Don't go near a stranger's car. NEVER get
into a car with someone you don't know, for any reason. Sometimes people use tricks -- like saying
your mom is hurt, or they lost their dog or kitten -- to try and get you to go with them. DO NOT GO
WITH THEM!
• If someone does manage to get you in their car, do not put on your seatbelt. Jump out when you
see people and the car has to make a stop
16. 3. If trapped in an abductor's car:
• Don't sit there quietly. The person is taking you somewhere
and wants to hurt you.
• If the car has back doors, try to scramble quickly to the back
seat while the car is moving.
• Try to jump out of a car that is going slow or has to stop. Try to
open a window and scream
• Try to reach over and blow the horn, or grab the steering
wheel. Scream as loud as you can while you do this
• If the car is stopped or slowed behind another car, reach over
with your foot and quickly stomp on the gas pedal as hard and
as long as you can.
17. 4. Safety at Home
• Many kids get home before their parents. If yes, First call your parents that you ok reach home.
• If you come home and a window in your house is broken or a door is open, don't go in. Go to a
trusted neighbour, or call 100.
• If you have to stay after school or want to play or study with a friend, tell your mom or dad First.
• Don't leave your home without asking your mom or dad first. Make sure a parent knows:
– Where you going
– How far and long.
– Always tell your mom or dad where you will be and when you will be home.
• When your family is home and the doorbell rings, always FIND OUT who it is or CHECK your
parents before opening the door.
• NEVER tell someone you are home alone, whether on the phone or come by your house. Or
you can say: “My Dad's in the shower, can he will call you when he gets out.”
• NEVER give information to anyone over the phone about yourself, your family or where you live.
HANG UP.
• Keep all the windows and doors locked.
• If someone tries to break into your home, call 100 immediately, and give full information like; full
address or direction of house and you alone in house. Then, try calling a neighbour or relative. If
you manage to get out from the house, “”GET OUT”. If you can hide, “HIDE”.
18. 4. Gun Safety
• If someone picks on you or threatens you, tell your parent or a
trusted adult. You don't have to deal with this by yourself.
• If you find a gun anywhere, DON'T TOUCH. The gun could be loaded
and dangerous. It could also be a gun that the police are looking for
because it was used in a crime. Tell your mom or dad or a trusted
adult or call 100 (Police) that you found (or saw) a gun.
• If someone shows you a gun, DO NOT TOUCH IT. Guns are not toys.
They can kill someone or hurt them very badly. Kids have been
accidentally killed by guns. Tell your parents or other trustful
person.
• If you hear gunfire, duck. Get down as low as you can and cover
your head.
19. 5. Key points: If a stranger tries to talk to me?
• Ignore them
• Do not look at them or acknowledge what they have spoken to you
• Walk quickly or run away from them
• Go in the opposite direction as fast as you can. (if someone in car)
• Go to a home of someone you know or to an area that has a lot of
people.
• Tell an adult you can trust about what happened, like a parent, a
teacher, a police officer or some other grownup your parents said
you can talk to.
20. 6. Safety Rules for School Children
• Always tell your parents where you will be.
• Travel in groups or with a buddy. There is safety in numbers.
• If you see someone hanging around the school yard or the park tell your parents. Learn to give a good
description. Is the person tall or short, dark or light, colour of eyes and hair, if he/she is driving;
colour, make and model of car and license plate number. video
• Do not travel in dark and lonely areas.
• Do not accept jobs, rides or gifts from strangers. even if you know the person and let the person know
that your parents know.
• It is not fun to run away from home. There is nothing so terrible that you cannot tell your parents.
• Do not approach people in cars that ask for directions: step back and tell that you do not know and
then run or walk rapidly away. Adults should not be asking children for directions.
• If someone touches you in a way that makes you feel bad or uncomfortable: YELL AND TELL. It is your
body and no one has a right to make your feel bad even if it is a relative or a friend. Tell and keep
telling until somebody believes you. Remember you did nothing wrong!
• Do not go with strangers even if they are dressed as policemen, doctor etc.
• Do not believe people who promise you a TV or modelling career. Tell your parents if somebody does.
• If your parents don't believe you, then tell your teacher or someone you trust.
21. 7. Internet Safety
